Rain

This is indeed a gorgeous fragrance with, as many have mentioned, similarities to GIT. Although the cost is exorbitant for something that’s not wholly unique but what it lacks in originality, it makes up for in quality. GIT is one of my favourite fragrances. I love a scent that is fresh and spicy and whilst performance is okay, its initial blast does diminish somewhat which leaves me wanting more. This fragrance has solved that issue, being more concentrated and denser. Although quite similar, it’s not exactly the same, as others have pointed out. For one, it’s not so sharp or piercing and that violet leaf note is noticeable absent. Instead, I find this is fuller, smoother, thicker and creamier with slightly more floral touches, yet it still maintains the fresh, green, spiciness that I enjoy. Someone previously mentioned GIT Extrait and I wholeheartedly agree with that sentiment. Longevity seems excellent although its denser quality means it sits closer to the skin but will still be noticeable to those around you. Stunning bottle as well. I really do like this as a wonderful, high performance alternative to GIT but its price is a massive inhibitor. Personally, this offers me everything I want in a fragrance; scent, quality and performance the only downside is cost, although I’d happily forgo a few of my cheaper fragrances for one bottle of this and it’s likely to become my spring/summer signature.

I fell on the tracks and got ran over by the hype train with this one. Green Irish Tweed is my second favorite fragrance of all time (behind Layton), so when I read reviews touting Rain's supremacy over GIT I bought a full bottle. Thank goodness I got a great deal on it because I was not nearly as impressed as some of the reviewers below me were. Now don't get me wrong, it is a fantastic scent, but it is not substantially better than GIT. In fact, I actually prefer the Creed. To my nose, Rain and GIT are about 75% similar, the 25% difference between the two is subtle and mostly evident in the drydowns. Thanks to the musk and cypress, Rain is denser and heavier than GIT and, as a result, has slightly better performance. I prefer the lightness and the airiness of GIT, however, as it's more fitting with Spring and early Summer, the seasons when GIT is my go-to. So, in short, unless you have money to burn, just buy Green Irish Tweed. This is perhaps the only time you will hear Creed touted as the cheaper and better option.

This one fits right up there with GIT and Chez Bond but don't get mistaken, it is not a clone because its can easily go head to head with Creed GIT and even beat it in my opinion. The name Rain is so fitting because its really does transport you to a costal/ cliff area where your surrounded by trees, rocks, sea water and flowers. But right when your there, a day time rain shower comes down and passes within 5 mins and your immediately dried up by the sun and then the wind starts to pick up and with the breeze you can smell the salty sea air, the trees/grass and all the florals. The initial spray does smell like Creed GIT but as it gets closer to the mid it gets much smoother and creamier than GIT. If Creed GIT had an age it would be a successful middle age man in his mid 40s to 50s and Rain would be a successful up and coming entrepreneur in his late 20s to early 30s. I dont even need to get into performance and longevity because its a parfum extrait and it last 6-8 hours easily.

If you ever wished a potent and way more natural green Irish tweed then this one is right up your ally. Stunning fragrance. Superbly well blended. It smells 100% similar to green Irish tweed with much more smoothness in the Drydown. Performance is excellent .I just have a small vial and even with small application I can smell if for almost 10+ hours. Am surely gonna grab a bottle of this but wished it to be priced a little lower. This is a good house and need to be explored except for the price factor.

Astonishingly beautiful! The perfect realization of what a luxury, contemporary, masculine fragrance in tune with the times would smell like. Yes, it echoes Green Irish Tweed, Chez Bond, and Cool Water, yet it ventures into new space: smoothness, depth, and more aromatic dimensions than its peers. Is it the most original perfume idea of its time? No. It is the best actualization of the idea to date? Yes, absolutely.

This is Green irish tweed on steroids. No doubt about that, GIT opens up very loud fresh & soapy, rains opening is fresh but subtle and stays very linear through the whole wearing. Doesn't have a loud opening like green irish tweed, with a quick dry down. But instead. Stays very subtle in the opening and through the whole wearing. Very fresh. Beautiful and long lasting. 8 to 11 hours

Smells like a rich confident man who has good taste, knows what he wants, gets what he wants and high expectations. A girl can pull off with this fragrance too but i would say it's more manly but it's unisex in my opinion

GIT Slayer. No sharp, screeching verbena. Much smoother and lasts twice as long. This replaced Green Irish Tweed. Sold it and moved up to bigger better things. Check Facebook groups and pay a fraction of retail.

Smoother and longer lasting than GIT - a winner

Royal Crown Rain is perhaps the best known of the house’s offerings, which tend to be pretty pricey. Rain available in a 100ml bottle, extrait concentration, that retails for $590 via Beverly Hills Perfumery. Some other Royal Crown perfumes are available on FragranceX in the US, but not Rain, which seems to be among the house’s most popular offerings, at least based on the buzz I’ve heard about the brand. The comparisons that I’ve heard of Rain to Creed Green Irish Tweed are certainly merited, probably to the point that it feels like a bit of a clone, but Rain is quite excellently blended, a noticeably better and more refined variant of GIT than the very inexpensive Armaf Tres Nuit, which is sold on grey markets for about $20. Rain is somehow spicier than but not as sharp as GIT. GIT feels fresher, Rain feels denser. Rain lacks the violet leaf bite of GIT that I frankly find to be GIT’s signature aspect. Rain seems a little less mossy and green, but has more of a smooth citrus-to-musky open-to-drydown while remaining fairly fresh and spicy throughout, with reasonable doses of lavender, cypress, and pepper in concert with the citrus/woods blend. It’s a nice fragrance but just as I don’t champion GIT, Rain is a like, not a love, though it’d certainly be one I’d wear and enjoy having my rotation. Its retail pricing is a challenge, as GIT is cheaper, and GIT clones like Armaf Tres Nuit are much cheaper. Rain performs quite well, though, pretty boastful on projection, longevity, and density. I still prefer Dua Fragrances Vert Gentilhomme as the best mix of performance, capturing GIT, with some inventiveness to make it a bit bolder, but that’s me. 7 out of 10

I’m a big fan of Green Irish Tweed. However, at least for me, it’s performance is atrocious. So, when I came across Rain, I thought let me give this a try. I was expecting something similar to GIT with better performance. I did a side-by-side comparison, and in the first 25 mins, I thought to myself: This is a straight up clone. There is no disguising it. They just copied Creed. Once the dry-down hit, they are still similar, but Rain is slightly woodier. Sillage and projection are also similar but Rain does have better longevity as an understated scent. I’ll just stick to my Creed.

This is straight up Cool Water. GReen Irish Tweed has that green almost earthiness to it and is not the same smell as Rain. I bought Rain because I always liked GIT (but wasn’t wow’d enough by GIT to actually buy it). I bought this seeing as how so many people compared it to GIT but as a more refined better rounded version. Nope. I am now contemplating buying a bottle of GIT hahaha. Seeing as how I now have a $500 Cool Water in the frag wardrobe smh.

Royal Crown Rain, to me, smells almost identical to Creed Green Irish Tweed, or Bond No.9 Chez Bond, but more sophisticated. It is a really pretty bottle, and good quality, but overpriced, in my opinion. The Lemon and citrus-like grasses are really nice and I love the earthiness and freshness. It just makes me want to snuggle up real close the man who wears this one and breathe him in.

I can see the connection with GIT with this...and this one is better. The price though...it's just way too much for what it is. It's a good, green scent...but it also smells "old" to my nose. It's nothing exciting or inspiring; just a good scent that remind me a old cologne. It just wasn't my thing; not at all unique.

Green Irish Tweeds younger brother who still has a fantastic head of hair, 5.0 GPA, owns a townhouse, is hanging a tripod, and can pull off pinstripe pants with ease.

Actually smells more like Cool Water than Green Irish Tweed to me. Longevity is awesome but projection is poor, so I do not condone Royal Crown's pricing strategy.

Rain really does evoke a feeling of rain during spring. This fragrance is very earthy and it gives a feeling of wet soil and asphalt during and after the rain, a feeling of clean, dust free air that has been left right after the rain. It is not a traditional freshly, or slightly sweet masculine fragrance. It truly does evoke a feeling. To me this is masculine, spring and summer time perfume for those who want to convey or feel the freshness and wetness of soil and road after the rain. Incredible for a man during spring.

It always amazes me how hugely different our opinions of the same fragrance can be. I was certain this would be a fragrance for me, being as I love GIT but wanted something a little louder and better projecting than Creeds current formulations. I was lucky enough to pic up an official sample recently. After applying I wanted out straight away. It is one of the most astringent smelling scents I have every put my nose on. Yes there is a similarity to GIT, but it’s as if some one has taken a third GIT and mixed it with two thirds of bleach. My stomach is churning from the smell as I write this. It NO from me. I’ll stick with old batches of GIT or Bond No 9 Chez Bond.

This fragrance was a BIG flop for me. I may have well sprayed water on myself. Nothing.....Perhaps I got a bad decant...not sure. Certainly not going to invest into anything larger at this point. I just don't get this one.....

2/3rds Cool Water, 1/3 Green Irish Tweed, with a top note reminiscent of Ajax Lemon-Citrus Spray N Wipe. Nope.
