Tabac Royal

This fragrance is spectacular, heavy on the vanilla, tonka and heliotrope which keeps the tobacco and spices from feeling masculine. There is also a beautiful lemon note. Tabac Royal is most definitely unisex and while the powderiness may feel a bit feminine to some, it can also come across as regal and dapper on a man. In my opinion this is straight down the middle unisex. The quality is outstanding which I find with most Royal Crown perfumes. Beautifully balanced with a heavy use of naturals which gives the perfume a rich warmth and exceptional feel similar to quality vintage perfumes. Definitely black tie event level perfume but at the same time it wouldn’t seem out of place if worn casually. This is a 10/10 perfume for me. One thing I want to point out though is that while the bottles are quite beautiful, they are prone to breaking in transit. I have had 4 show up broken, one completely empty with the neck snapped off, another with a broken crown and messed up neck, one with a crack in the neck, leaking, and with a dribbling atomizer, and yet another with a messed up collar and more dribbling. This is unacceptable. The broken ones were purchased from 3 different discount retailers. I would STRONGLY SUGGEST only buying RC from a retailer with a good return/refund policy or buying directly from Royal Crown if you can afford it. They are known for having exceptional customer service. Or you could buy from an individual seller who is willing to package the bottle properly for you. These are exceptional perfumes but the bottles are highly problematic when shipped.

Tabac Royal opens with a beautiful cloud of Honeyed Amber Tobacco Powderiness. Within that cloud is Lemon, Cinnamon, Clove, & Pink Pepper. Yet they are only nuanced. The Citrus & Spices play a role that adds a luxuriousness to that Honeyed Amber Tobacco Powderiness. The Powderiness is created by the Heliotrope. It smells floral, yet powdered, like Vanilla Violets. Its 3 Tobacco notes are subtle, yet distinctive. The first is Leafy green. The second is mildly pungent, a bit Animalic, & reminiscent of the Tobacco note in its sister, Habanos. The third is dry with a very subtle ash nuance. The notes of Patchouli, Olibanum, & Myrrh are there as nuances adding depth to its 3 Tobacco notes, while Tonka Bean & Sandalwood round it out keeping it smooth within this cloud of Honeyed Amber Powderiness with a touch of Ash.. Its dry down reminds me of Maison Martin Margiela's Jazz Club done Niche. Tabac Royal smells bourgeoisie like Victorian era English Royalty. It would be perfect for Black Tie events. And because its Powdery & Ambry its also cozy. So it will smell good on a sweater & work well as a cuddle fragrance. Its not offensive so It can also work well on dates. I have no issues with performance. Tabac Royal lasts on my skin over 10 hours & has above average projection for an hour. Then moderately projecting for a second hour. It leaves a beautiful sillage for its life on your skin or clothing. Its important for me to note that Tabac Royal can easily be over sprayed & become quite beastly for a few hours. So be easy on the trigger.

Tabac Royal has slipped from the memories of the vast majority of the fragrance community. To me, this is quite sad because it a tobacco gem that rises above the hundreds of tobacco fragrances that are saturating the current market. Created in 2011 by Antonio Visconti.it did not have to try to compete with the fragrances that started the flood of tobacco scents that were introduced later in the decade. (Tom Ford had a lot to do with making tobacco scents wildly popular.) Tabac Royal is lighter but also wider than most of the tobacco fragrances I have tried. What I mean is that it eschews the smoky dark descent in favor of lighter notes such as lemon and heliotrope. Some say this makes this fragrance lean more feminine, but I think it is unisex in the best sense of the word. It is elegant and seems more of an evening scent. iI could be worn in any season, but I like it best in the Fall. It has moderate to good silage and longevity. If you want a tobacco scent that will generate some buzz, this might be one to try. It is anything but dated. To me it represents the quality and blending that I wish more fragrances would attempt to match.

My first high-end, exclusive, fragrance, that I actually won a 5ml. decants of from Gents Scents on YouTube. I loved the composition of notes and it gave a long-lasting longevity and a moderate silage, which I liked very much. Of the three I got, including Ytzma and Noor (for females only), this Tabac Royal fragrance was the best, though Ashton from Gents Scents seemed to prefer the Ytzma fragrance. Mind you that I am not an experience "frag-head". I would probably get the Tabac Royal again if I can find it at a more moderate discounted price than the very expensive full-priced offers.

What a price tag, most certainly should sample this one to make sure it is right for you. I think Tabac Royal is sublime. Nothing but the highest quality ingredients and it truly shows. The tobacco is done in a such a way that warms both masculine and feminine fragrance wearers. A bit brighter than expected but you shouldn't judge a fragrance by its notes alone. Skin chemistry plays a huge role The silage and projection here are sensationa. l I bet in the warmer temps it might be off the charts. The entire Royal Crown House has peeked my interest.

if habanos white musk isn't your thing grab this instead

I'm giving you notes because those given above are incorrect: TOP Notes: cinnamon, lemon, clove, MIDDLE Notes: tobacco leaves, heliotrope, vanilla, BASE Notes: sandalwood, tobacco, patchouli. Therefore I didn't vote for fragrance notes... The nose behind this fragrance is Antonio Martino. The scent is warm as amber and sweet as honey (but not like a candy!). I can also detect in it a shade of some noble alcohol - rum or cognac. Very noticeable are also notes of a good quality tobacco. Tabac Royal is serious, massive, elegant, and round like a well-balanced wine. Definitely very sophisticated. The bottle - great. The scent has only one defect: looking at the price I would expect a much better longevity.

Nice frag, but I don’t get much tobacco. It’s more heliotrope, tonka, sandalwood, & myrrh to me.

If you are looking for an amazing tobacco fragrance and have the means, purchase Royal Tobacco by Amouage. Do not waste money on this horrible attempt at a tobacco scent. This misses the mark all around.

oh my, the first spray top note is an extreme strong like a rock, it just makes you wonder "will i ever like this!". as minutes goes by sniffing the same spot you've sprayed on, the scent becomes a acceptable more and more till you reach the middle and base note as it turns an extreme honey and tobacco beeswax it becomes similar to to costamor tabacca and you'll never believe that it was the same perfume that you sprayed. it's true has the tobacco, cloves, sandalwood, amber, and patchouli. it's great but doesn't worth the price it's around 550+ USD fragrance bottles never had my attention, but when i saw this one, and held it in my hand... man i felt it is an artistic masterpiece, something that i couldn't imagine. it is too heavy but it has it's prestigious perfect shape with that amazing crown on top. the bottle deserves that royalty name as i really want a a juice from their line to strikes me & be the perfect fragrance for me. Edit (4th April 2017) Well now i sensed it kind of different, i feel the harsh tobacco, lavender, cloves, patchouli, with slight tonka beans and not vanilla with dozes of pepper, ashes, and myrrh. i don't sense lemon, or cinnamon. and definitely not like "Tabacca" by costamor. I do feel the royalty in this fragrances but honestly i still feel it's quite an overpriced BUT that doesn't mean it doesn't worth the test, Rule of thumb, never look at the price tag cause if you did then that means the fragrance doesn't worth it.

Unisex oriental bordering on feminine. Spicy peppery cinnamon opening reminds me of chili peppers, a strong tonka note is present along with odors of dates tobacco leaves and powdery vanilla smoke, maybe a fine cigar?--which gives this high quality, natural smelling perfume a sexy oriental presence. Great projection and sillage, also comforting and deep in its drydown with patchouli but more noticeably a softly dry wood. A winter perfume, or an evening perfume, this is sophisticated femininity, and a masculine with a calm but interesting presence. Maybe more interesting on a woman. Although squarely a tobacco fragrance, the details and touches would make me put it on a shelf with powdery ambers like Mitzah, Barkhane, or a powdery tobacco like TJ Habanero.

Have to agree with the below reviewer on bottles not made to ship but RC is an exclusive brand and they probably never made these bottles to ship. With that out of the way this is a beautiful tobacco perfume with tons of naturals. The vanilla absolute, Tonka, and heliotrope are very present far into the dry down. There is a mix of tobacco leaf absolute, and tobacco aroma chemicals. High quality expensive woody musks, and beautiful creamy sandalwood. The tobacco leaf and lemon keep this bright; which is a juxtaposition against tobacco normal dark territory one of my favorite from RC ❤️ the incense in the dry down is quite noticeable too. Ps if your worried about bottle breakage from discounters go with the 50 ml they are much sturdier In shipment

An unusual tobacco scent unlike any others Ive sampled in that it is not a tobacco-ey tobacco fragrance it is gentler, sweeter and more elegant. Sophisticated and expensive smelling like when you walk into a Chanel, Versace or Valentino store and you know you're gonna drop a lot of cash. And it IS pricey but the elements are top notch, it has nice sillage and the dry down lastssss....Plus the bottle is a beauty!

This is tobacco for the ladies. Clean, floral, powdery, yet utterly elegant. I can see an established business woman with charm wearing this. The tobacco is front and center but stripped away from all its ruggedness and dirtiness. Totally feminine to my nose.

Sweet, spicy and floral tobacco; a more domesticated "version" of Habanos without the pungent corral 'oud, therefore more wearable but without the personality and virility of Habanos. I thought it was good.

Treacherous price for a scent that is widely available out there....copied in short. This a fougere in disguise in the same leagues of 1725, Invasion Barbare, Sartorial......etc.
