Gardenia

I’m in love with this scent profile. Does it smell just like a Gardenia? Not so much. It does however smell just like (to my memory) one of the best smelling incense stick bundles I’ve ever smelled. It was called “voyager” and it was a 6th grade purchase I made from a wooden cart at a renaissance faire almost 30 years ago. Hey, we all had an incense phase when we were kids at some point. It’s worth it, at under 25 bucks.. I plan on buying it for myself. It’s not sweet or powdery, or too feminine. It’s creamy, and stemmy, and interesting, and could be worn by a man. How do I know? Because I’m a man who plans on wearing it.....and I don’t give two craps about gender marketed fragrances. If you want to smell like a gardenia, try the Flowers for men Gardenia by Neil Morris (he has great prices on his perfume samples), or the discontinued Gardenia perfume by Bath and Body Works.

Gardenia Cologne by Royal Hawaiian. This was such a great discovery. Very fresh, very green and a bit minty, this Cologne is great value for money! While not a true to life gardenia fragrance (it’s got some soapy aldehydes in the opening and a clean creamy musk in the base), there’s enough of a gardenia note here for lovers of that particular white floral to get their fix 😀. For the price of a cup of coffee and a piece of toast you’ll smell fantastic 😁

Thank you addicted2perfume for the chance of discovering something new to my wardrobe and to my nose! I really like me this one! Who knew!?! It's a gardenia crown being worn by a hoola dancer who loves her skin and is well protected with a clean creamy smelling sunblock. She is beautiful and does not need to try hard to be anything other than herself. A pretty and welcoming floral scent with a wonderful sunblock vibe to it that will have you feeling like your on the beach on a good day! I've layered this over a Nivea body lotion in a white bottle 1 spray of this and then 1 spray of Hanae Mori by Hanae Mori EDP and omg I'm on vacation it's an intoxicatingly delicious combination you must try it if you have all 3! Thumbs up from me!

This has almost no scent. What little there is smells like soap. The first blast smells like a weird peppery water then soap. No Gardenia. I bought this since the few reviews it had said it was beautiful & did smell like gardenias. Its garbage. If you have $10 then you better go get Jovans Island Gardenia & not this, at least it has a scent.

Though I do not see fragrance notes listed here for Royal Hawaiian Gardenia, the ABC store which sells it says: "Gardenia ~ With its creamy white petals, lush green leaves, the Gardenia is famous for its uniquely romantic, exotic fragrance." The Tiki Master website describes it this way: "notes of creamy Gardenia petals intertwine with whispers of fresh jasmine and exotic tuberose." I honestly love this fragrance. I first bought it 13 years ago at a Hawaiian plantation on the island of Kauai, and have been a fan from the start. It's not a true gardenia, like Jungle Gardenia perfume is. However, it's got some beautiful aldehydes mixed in with a clean, light gardenia scent that smells fresh and clean all day. The notes stay the same hour after hour, until the end when it becomes softly intimate and then dissipates maybe 5 hours or so in from the first spray. I like that though. With some perfumes, I like to experience the way the top notes give way to the middle and then bottom notes throughout the day. With the Royal Hawaiian scents I have, I'm happy to smell exactly what I love about it, hour after hour. A bright spot in my collection, for sure.
