Wicked Wahine Rose

This is literally a red or pink rose in a garden . Very simple yet powerful. I usually layer it with oud or woods fragrances and patchouli was a good choice to layer with as well

I am so PLEASED to see Wicked Wahine Rose added to the database! For years, only those traveling to Hawaii regularly had easy access to this brand line, and today we have the luxury of Hawaiian online shops and Amazon, among others, who carry this tropical treat. First off, Wicked Wahine Rose is not a highly complex, nuanced creation. It's simple, straightforward, strong, and long lasting. If that's your thing, for the price, you have arrived in Heaven. The scent? I have Perfumer's Workshop Tea Rose. This is a more potent rose, but also a little less natural smelling. P. W. Tea Rose is a photo realistic florists' rose, as if you've poked your head into the cooler at a florist's shop. It goes on strong and becomes a soft pink rose in short order. This rose, however, is a bit more chemical and potent. Happily, still all about flowers - with additional longevity and warm breezes. If you've ever smelled the delightful Island Bath and Body Maui Tea Rose (made by the same company, I am SURE), you've already got a fragrance close to this one. Maui Tea Rose is all rose. W. W. Rose is Rose and then quickly becomes rose mixed with a very large quantity of lotion-like jasmine. By lotion I mean it smells like a good hand cream from the past, rather than a real jasmine bush. Nothing indolic. It's not the most subtle or complex smelling rose/jasmine duo out there, but it does smell QUITE pretty. And unlike most rose perfumes, this one is powerful and long lasting. Go easy on the trigger - you could startle yourself. ;) For the price this may well be the best value, longest lasting rose you can buy. In the middle of winter, if you're dreaming of a sunny island climate, check out any and all offerings from this tropical line. They can take you to Hawaii for next to nothing! If you already own Island Bath and Body Maui Tea Rose, you may not need Wicked Wahine Rose, and vice versa. Though from pricing online I'd say Wahine is lower in cost for the amount you get. And this is a true perfume concentration - you get FULL value. PS - I've never had the joy of smelling Cosmos, so I cannot tell you if that is a prominent note here. But what I do smell should please many a flower lover. :)

Simple, clear and powerful rose & white floral on top of fresh green. Not complicated. Synthetic & more feminine on initial spray, but settles into a more natural unisex bouquet after half an hour. I think this will be very fun to layer with other perfumes that are missing some extra oomph. Edit: I wish this lasted a bit longer. It’s borderline beast mode on first spray, but after the first hour it fades on my skin rather quickly. By hour 4 it’s gone completely. I still enjoy this clean rose punch to the nose, especially out of the shower on days I have nowhere to be and can reapply as needed.

I bought this years ago looking for a rose scent. I didn't know that there were different kinds of rosy scents, and was severely disappointed. My nose tends to like powdery rose scents, which this definitely is NOT. It's very bright and fresh, and extremely strong and long lasting. The bottle is also sleek and pretty. While it personally isn't for me, it is definitely a good buy for anyone who likes that bright, fresh rose as opposed to the vintage powdery rose.
