Ruehl No.925

I made an account just to review this very special scent! Takes me right back to 2009. This always feels strong, a little mysterious, leathery, woodsy, soapy, clean. Reminds me a little of Versace The Dreamer in that they have that same mysterious tobacco tinge and phenomenal drydown- Two totally different scents though My bottle is a little more than halfway gone.. I rarely wear this but if I do it's something special. Although I find myself reaching for this lately, simply for nostalgia with the slightest spritz. This cologne means alot to me and I'm very sad it's discontinued. It makes you feel very put together This is my favorite cologne ever. Even the bottle design is beautiful. Love the square shape and worn metal. Such a shame I can't go grab 8. By far the most unique cologne I've ever smelled! Im gonna try and hold on to this bottle for as long as I can! Very special unique powerful masculine scent.

Possibly made before Abercrombie and Fitch Woods, but I consider it Wood's little sister. When A&F stopped selling Woods, this is what I went to. They are sister companies, so it makes sense. Now they are both discontinued, sadly. On second hand markets, this one sells for a lot more. I find that unnecessary. While I love both fragrances, I prefer Woods. It has that classic man connotation with lavender, woods and musk. If you ever want to find a fragrance for a working man, this is it. If you can find either fragrances for a good price (under $50-100) get them. They won't likely be made again. Happy Hunting!

Very masculine scent. The closest thing I can compare it to is Dirty English, but Ruehl is way better. Ive worn it for so long, but still have trouble describing it. Think male barber shop with an edge. An intimidating peppery musk with a leather background. The dry down on this is hands down the BEST drydown of any fragrance. Spray it on your jeans or clothes and it will follow you all day. The initial blast of this is intense, but after 20-30 minutes it changes into a completely different fragrance.

One of my personal favorites. It is sharp and musky at first and very distinctive but dries down to a somewhat soapy barbershop fragrance, that lingers all day on your skin. One of the few fragrances that truly lasts on my skin. I wore this daily when it was more readily available, but it has now been relegated to occasional wear to make it last. Heard that YSL Rive Gauche is similar so I think, I'll give that a try. Truly a great fragrance and I hope at some point they will bring it back.

I bought this at the store over 15 years ago. I rarely wear it but when I do it gives me a cowboy vibe. Really strong and mature scent.

Ruehl No. 925 “Signature” was the signature scent for the upscale sister brand to Abercrombie and Fitch, Ruehl No. 925. It came in a masculine and feminine version noted by the color of the caps on the ink bottles. (Blue was masculine, red was feminine). The masculine version was the spritzed round the stores and on the clothes much like Abercrombie and Fitch did. The brand was similar to a Greenwich Village themed version of RRL by Ralph Lauren. The stores were radical in that they were dimly lit and resembled sleek NYC apartments with shelves of books, furniture installations and split level floor plans, and with barely any indication what the store sold. It was often confused for a restaurant. All in upscale American malls next to stores like Apple and the Gap. The brand was closed in 2010. The masculine scent was 5/5. I never found anything quite like it, until A&F Batch 46, which seemed to be the same recipe. (Haven’t smelled Rive Gauche). Musky, citrus, woody, clean. The barbershop vibe for me didn’t develop until the fragrance was a few years old so I attributed it to the mass market material quality. It was more sexy/horny than barbershop to me. Some juice turned green but it was still used in spray bottles in the store and smelled the same. The feminine version is also outstanding, very close to Chanel Chance. Ruehl also introduced a flanker, R-7, with masculine and feminine versions. Similar DNA but much more citrus/punchy/bright up front on the masculine version.

IN REPLY TO "LITTLERAYRAY" No this one is not the women's version but the men's version,maybe that's why you and your husband found it too leathery and strange as a women's fragrance.

Yeah, I don't think there is a female version of this scent, women wear it regardless.

smells like a hot shave at the barbershop, and yes - close to Rive Gauche
