#1776 in my “Tour de Fragrance” My 1776th review posted on July 4th 2026, the 250th year anniversary of the United States as a republic, and I am reviewing a scent named for the day Christopher Columbus landed in the Caribbean. Total but interesting coincidence. People seem to either love these spicy fruity scents or they hate them. For me it’s love at first sniff. I got this as a decant from Lucky Scent and they are sold out or I’d order it. Everything about this works for me, the fruit, the spice, the leather, the incense, the iris. Great composition, long lasting, good projecting. Hate the skinny little 50ml bottle, but it’s on my list to collect. Good Luck and Good Hunting

This is a HEAVY leather fragrance with a fruity component. I think it leans quite masculine. If you mainly enjoy fruity fragrances this is not for you in my opinion. It does have a sweet and fruity component to it. Like a mango and peach tea. It's sweet, heavy, leathery, fruity. The drydown is leather - so good in my opinion. I am not saying it smells the same as Orto Parisi Cuoium but if you enjoy one you will perhaps enjoy the other - I do at least. Performance is absolutely top tier. Two sprays is enough to choke out your surroundings most of a day. And it clings to clothing indefinitely. We are talking Megamare performance here. Definitely in my top 3 of fragrances.

Probably a strange thing to say about a fragrance like this but this smells like my childhood. My parents had a Sherlock Holmes Club and took me to meetings on Friday nights and a lot of the houses smelled just like this. My dad’s office smelled just like this. He had like 300 pipes and it smelled like tobacco and ash. I don’t get a lot of fruit from this unless it’s like fruity tobacco. There was a cherry tobacco my dad occasionally smoked. Maybe it’s the incense but this just really smells like a room full of pipes to me. It’s very nostalgic and something I used to hate smelling like, but now I love it.

Opens with a sticky, jammy fruit (I get apples and apricots) accompanied by a velvety, caramel musk base. The fruit dies down after the first few hours, leaving a very sticky sweet musk. Tried this on a Friday, and am still smelling it on the Monday. Bought on first try and no regrets thus far

It strongly reminds me of a dark, smoked beer with plums (Imperium Prunum) due to the incense notes mixing with fruits. Overall great scent, sweet, fruity but also strong, and very masculine. Fruity in a way of some old men in leather vests eating ripe plums.

What a lovely compote of fruits supported by frankincense and a woody structure. There’s a gourmand touch, but it’s more syrupy and sticky. In the realm of Tobacolor without the dirty ash. If you like shisha type of tobacco scents, this is a must.

Beautiful scent, but my partner won’t let me spray it in the house. He has a “violently negative” reaction to the scent like the user below said 😂 DM if interested in nearly full bottle for steep discount.

This is a very strange fragrance. Birch tar + fruits reminds me of Byredo's Mixed Emotions, only this is extremely strong and pungent. Literally smells like smoked deli ham slice with various fruits on top. After couple of hours, when the leather and smoke calm down, it smells like old carrots

I find this to be very similar to Issey Miyake Noir Ambre

Had such a violently negative reaction to this. I love their Feb. 14 1912, but this smells like everything I can't stand about modern niche thrown into one (unfortunately) massive scent. Tons of synthetic oud and leather pumped with woody ambers to boot.

Awful awful awful. No fruit notes detected at all. Only leather, slight vanilla, and a very obnoxious note of tobacco.

Ever hear the phrase, 'a little dab will do ya'? That's certainly the case for this one. Extremely leathery animalic opening. It's a a pleasantly dry saddle leather but overpowering at this concentration. Dried fruit and tobacco beyond the entrance but the leather bindings stay attached. There's a smokiness about it too that hints of an old smoking room, leaning cigarette more than pipe. It makes me think of a wealthy drawing room, where the men would sit, play games and smoke, on an old Southern plantation, horses in the barn. I wish there were a reformulation as I love the various notes, just need it taken down a notch to enjoy them.

OK this is fantastic, but I don't smell almost any of the notes listed. No fruit, she is dry dry dry but not dusty. It's mostly leather and woods but it's composed much more softly than your usual leather scent. It's irisy-powder and amber and cypriol translated into a supple sofa leather. The reviewer below has it right, very chesterfield. No spice to speak of, no ginger, no sugar, ABSOLUTELY NO LILY OF THE VALLEY. It is beautiful and feels like hiking in the desert.

It’s a no for me. Extremely strong. It reminds me of the way a garage smells. I put some on and now I am in an inescapable cloud of it. I thought an odd smell was coming in through my apartment vents. It’s this. It smells better and different up close on my arm than it does wafting around. It’s an assault on my nose, unfortunately. And now I must wash it off. I am sure someone would adore this. 🤷♀️

A small dab of this really fills a room. The scent includes a compote of ripe fruits, woods and spices with cognac, patchouli, sugar, incense and vetiver at the base. Very unique composition, but incredibly dense and sticky. The guy working at the ScentBar counter was incensed that this fragrance glorifies Columbus' expedition to the Americas. I would never have known.

This is a beautiful scent. I don't know what else to say. What happened on that date? The discovery of the Americas? Did those sailors smell this when the breeze from the new lands reached their salt-saturated noses? Land smells so intoxicating from the sea.

You eat a delicious dessert after a dinner and retire to a dimly lit drawing room, where you recline on a burgundy Chesterfield chair surrounded by volumes of leather-bound books. This is how I imagine George Bailey smelt like in It's A Wonderful Life.
