Update: I decided to try this perfume again...I must have gotten better at discerning notes because now it smells like a spicy rhubarb pie with a side of powder. The opening makes my mouth water, but it's got enough of the heliotrope and mate to keep it from smelling like food. It's working out well on this rainy fall day. It does smell like baby powder once it dries down, but it's kind of nice with this weather actually. I will happily use up my sample, though it took me almost a year to appreciate it! Previous Review: This perfume absolutely smells like my childhood...with my parents fussing over my younger siblings. It sadly reminded me so much of Cherry Robitussin with a dry down of J&J Baby Powder. I was expecting to like it, based on the notes, but it unfortunately is too reminiscent of snotty children in diapers.

We got a real black afghano clone. I got to be honest, I like this better not to mention you get 20 more ml for $35 less .. I got black afghano on my right hand and 1966 on the other and they are very very close but have their differences. BA is a little more heavy and 66 seems to have a light more leathery feel to it. Both have monster longevity. It's really a close match. So close now that I have them side by side I think I like them both about the same. It's worth a sample but if you own one already I'd pass. The only thing I don't like about 1966 is the bottle, I feel like it's going to tip over and break...

This is a rich and comforting fragrance. I find it to be complex, and the notes blend in a way that creates a warm, mouthwatering creation. I actually thought that there is amber in it, although amber isn't listed. The combination of the different notes also gives this a nutty, leathery and smokey aroma and somehow reminds me of walking past Guava trees in a warm day. The Oud note in this is refined, elegant and inoffensive. To me this is like an imaginary bonfire of chestnuts, flowers and unripened fruits. Delicious and luxurious

This is still my favorite. I bought it from Lucky Scent in 2017 or 2018. It knocks the wind out of you. It's suffocating. Spicy, thick. It sticks to skin and clothes forever. I hope Rundholz keeps making it. Field & Florist in Chicago still has it listed but out of stock.

Rhubarb immediately—delicious and sour. But then... what's that? Something so familiar... a little plasticky, almost, but not synthetic... is it.... Play-Doh?? !! Yes !! Maybe it's just how this interacts on my skin, but that's the impression that the almost almond-like heliotrope gives off, its sweetness boosted just a bit from the rhubarb, a little deep from the incense. Play-Doh. I'm sorta into it, but can't get over that association. I think it might be a little too powdery for me in the end, which skews the scent a bit to the femme side of unisex. But I'll give the sample another try in a few months once the weather shifts. Not entirely inappropriate for this cool, overcast June day, but not quite right either. Seems to project quite intensely, as a coworker said she could smell it as I walked in, and lasted for maybe 4 hours before settling down as a skin scent.

Black Afgano’s Kin 🧉🖤 Another target analyzed by noteninja. This is essentially the brother from another mother to Black Afgano or maybe its predecessor. A fantastic incense fragrance, though it runs a bit less sweet than its counterpart. As it develops, a dry, green mate note subtly slips into the mix, resting on a beautifully constructed, warm, and comforting oud base. Performance is totally solid with respectable projection and longevity. Ultimately, it feels like a lighter, far more accessible, and wearable alternative to the monstrous Mars 2022. Highly recommended for incense enthusiasts looking for stealthy elegance.

This is powdery, fruity and a bit sharp/tart in the opening. It is ALL about the rhubarb. It smells almost like a cherry cough drop. Then it gets more sour, bitter, balsamic and herbal in the middle. It is ALL about the pink pepper! Fruit and pepper with some powder. In the base It is a lovely, slightly sweet, slightly tart powder that has NO amber that usually powders it in the base. No iris or violet. This is terrific.

This is certainly in the same category as Black Afgano, but it’s by no means remotely a clone. This is much more “Play Doh” to mrmorel’s point, vs. Black Afgano’s synthy woody “oud” smoke thing. Personally I like this a lot better than Black Afgano because it’s less screechy and messy; it has a clearer thesis, basically. Sour smoky heliotrope-overdose into Play Doh territory. You’ve probably smelled this kind of thing dozens of times if you’re into niche. But if that’s your jam, this is one of the more clear, successful takes.

I really don't get it how this perfume can be viewed as long lasting. It goes in several hours maximum. And this is during winter. During summer you can forget it. I stopped 100% using it during summer altogether. I ended up not wearing any perfume at all because it was my only one. Just because it was imposible to smell anything, it literally dissapeared when the temperatures were hot. Great smell though, too bad it dissapears during hot temperatures. Very close to Black Afgano. They are brothers, not twins.

I’m very very surprised by how longlasting it is.... Like I sprayed it more then 24h ago on my skin, took a shower and it stills there! It even overpower the other perfume I’m wearing today. May be the person commenting on this perfume a few comments bellow had a fake one? Like I completely disagree UPD: you guys, I can feel it on my hand 2.5 days late.... I literally took 3 showers already, this is beyound even Oud Maracuja or Followed, how is that possible that no one is talking about this yet?

upon first spray , i curled up and enveloped myself in this scent . the notes seemed promising , but i wasnt expecting anything like this . theres this almost psychosexual clashing of girl & woman for me , crayons & lipstick meltdd with a hello kitty lighter , i get literally none of the tartness or fruityness others mention , pure unburt incense and modeling clay . perfect to my nose but at least in my opinion , not at all whats advertised

I get a hint of Blamage by Nasomatto in a lighter and fresher way. Nice, if you enjoy that. Slightly powdery, fresh opening atop an incense-ward industrial oud combination . Heavy-duty performance. Not my type at all.

Question: I know that is theoretically unisex. But it seems that the people I met wearing it are 99% male. Is it more for males? I love it and I would like to buy one, but I wouldn't like to smell like a man
