Heliotrope! I could not place the note until I read what Fragrantica had for a notes list... I thought it was cherry. You just don't see that note very often and this perfume does it well. This is a really nice "soft" scent, I love the form of a dry roll on perfume, not oily like other solid perfumes. Very unique. And I can stash in my purse easily, and reapply halfway through the day. I got this through smallflower dot com online as a blind buy.

From a display of maybe ten different sticks from Sabe Masson - I always wanted to try these out - I chose this one feeling it was a "safe card", easy, soft and pleasant floral musky vanilla with a clear summer vibe to it. Checking the notes now I realise it has ylang ylang (the strongest note) which I normally don't like very much - and helitrope which I adore and will blind buy without a second thought. I think it's the ylang that creates a sort of astringent sensation on my tongue, which I really detest. Still, it's a really good scent, I'd say it's classic, elegant, feminine and versatile. Happy and bright, easy to wear. Low sillage and mid-longevity. I find no top notes at all, maybe that's a hard feat for solids? Finally a warning: the tube is 8 centimeters high but the stick of solid perfume is maybe 1.2 cm only. Edit 2 mins later: OK yes there is in fact citrus at the start. When I put my nose to the actual stick itself :) /End
