Sweet Tooth Me Espresso

This is a weird perfume, to say the least. I would have never expected Sabrina Carpenter to come out with this: it smells very.. niche. After wanting to test this out for nearly a year but never having found a test bottle, I finally got to try it out today. I had already heard the bad comments, but for some reason I was sure that I would enjoy it. Was I dissapointed and let down? No, this was better than I imagined. Not a safe blind buy at all, though, and also I like weird scents, which this definetely is, especially compared to her other perfumes (which are commercial & a bit generic). Now to the actual scent: Everybody says that it smells like grape soda, but I totally disagree. To me, it smelled literally like wafer. I guess that is the cocoa, biscuit and whipped cream accords. It didn't really smell very coffee-like to me. Overall, I wish I had smelt this weird 'masterpiece' (it's a masterpiece to my nose) earlier, and maybe I will think about buying this. Again, not a safe blind buy, this is a very specific scent which I have never smelt before (on a perfume). It's wafers to me, truly. And I saw someone say so a few months ago on a review here, and I totally agree. Much more than the grape soda analogy which I didn't receive. This is my favourite out of all her perfumes, but also the weirdest and even 'worst' one of hers. Well, it's not the worst one for me, but for most I would easily assume it would be. That's all....! Oh, and such an adorable bottle, too!

Found this at Don Quijote in Japan and I was beyond thrilled to be able to try it after wanting to ever since it was released, but it not being available in Australia, and costing way too much to ship it. I was well aware of the mixed reviews, people saying it smells like grape soda and no coffee etc, but since I love grapes and used to wear a hello kitty grape body mist as my signature scent, I just knew id actually love Me Espresso and I was absolutely right, and bought it. It's grape soda for sure but with a warm sugary biscuit plus the slight scent of a milky latte <3 The biscuity-chocolate type of scent with floral also reminds me of perfumes like Avril Lavigne Black Star and Burberry Brit (not dupes of them tho)- other old signature scents of mine. So this fits right in with what I love. It doesn't really last more than 3 hours but by then its still a nice sweet floral scent and also just happens to be my 2 favourite floral notes- jasmine and vanilla orchid. Edit: seeing reviews that compare the smell to Boba tea is actually quite accurate too! Very happy with this as i had a very strong urge to find a boba perfume a few months ago but failed. Well now I feel like mission success! Edit 2: oh no I found out it only very recently became available for cheaper in Australia! Well at least now I know I can repurchase it for a good price next :)

As a niche fragrance collector who had spent an entire fortune on perfumes and has recently started looking for a perfect gourmand scent, I couldn't recommend this one more. I look for fragrances with whipped cream notes and this one would be 10/10 if the longevity was a bit longer. For me, it's linear and a perfect mix of creamy and coffee notes. When it comes to coffee, I had bad experience with Killian's Black Phantom (too bitter and masculine) and in Amouage's Tuberose Love, I felt nothing but jasmine. The only gourmand scent that I loved so far was Amouage Lilac Love, which does it well with cocoa. And then I decided to sample the 30$ scent (why not) and it was just so simple. No too cloying, not too sweet, but sweet enough to blend well with coffee notes. I smell only the notes shown here and that's enough. No need for a deeper analysis. Simply put, it smells like a sweet coffee shop and is super comforting. For this price point, you can't lose much. You will not smell like a cake, you can spray in on the sheets and clothes and most importantly for me, it's perfect for layering with other (harsher) and less sweet, expensive perfumes. I give it 8/10 only because of the longevity and the bottle, but you can just apply more when needed. I will also do a DIY project to customise the bottle and make it more "cappuccino" like.

If you’re in search of a realistic and gourmand coffee scent, then this is the best. Smells like walking into the nicest smelling cafe you could imagine. Digestive biscuits. Caramel lattes with cocoa sprinkled on top. Freshly baked chocolate chip cookies. It smells WARM. I really like to layer Me Espresso with Goddess by Burberry as it is such a realistic scent that it does not even begin to smell like perfume until jasmine and amber notes begin to come through in the down. As far as other coffee fragrances go I do like Prerogative however the apricot and pink pepper lean a little fruity for me, I like Private Show however this is more of a caramel frappuccino than a true coffee scent, Prerogative Ego is nice but it’s more of the milkiest vanilla latte in the world was spilled and left to dry on a nice sandalwood table, Good Girl by Carolina Herera smells like if you mixed a handful of dirt into your coffee grounds, Fever by Jimmy Choo is delightful with the coffee, hazelnut, vanilla, benzoin, sandalwood and Tonka notes, but the plum and grapefruit has it leaning a little to “perfumey” to be considered a realistic coffee scent. Me Espresso is absolutely mouthwatering. And no, it doesn’t smell like grapes at all.

I found the OG waay too powdery and nauseating although I love sweet gourmand scents. I tested Caramel Dream, but I smelled a weird burnt note, so I didn't really bother with the other two... until today. As soon as I sprayed it, I fell in love. I really don't get the hate at all, Me Espresso is a lovely gourmand imo. I smell coffee and wafer. It's sweet, but has a slight bitterness because of the coffee. It reminds me of those Pocket Coffee chocolate: it's sweet due to the chocolate and sugar but also has the bitterness of black coffee. I see why it's not everyone's cup of tea, but piss, bad breath, mold, etc... seriously? I don't smell anything like that, not even grape soda. After a while, the coffee wafer smell fades a bit and I can detect something slightly floral. To me, Me Espresso is a very delicious, totally gourmand, edible-type perfume. The only downside is the longevity: it lasts 1-2 hours on my skin and about 3 hours on clothes sadly. I don't get the colour of the bottle either: the baby blue bottle is indeed beautiful (and I really like the shape too) but it doesn't fit the scent at all. I'd imagine a dark brown or off-white bottle would suit it better.

Sinceramente no puedo creer que éste perfume no posea almendras, lo que percibo es exactamente almendras recién tostadas u horneadas, ese aroma a frutos secos, algo salado, caliente, seco y polvoriento, es decir irresistible, con galletitas dulces María. Y aunque me cueste aceptarlo, sí, un leve muy leve olor a capuccino. No es lo principal para mí olfato, a diferencia del resto. Por eso no puedo nombrarlo como nota principal. Pero de que va en la línea gourmand, cremosa y combinada a una cafetería, absolutamente sí. Los acordes surgen inesperadamente en la conjunción de ciertos elementos, pero para mí lo más interesante de eso, es haber percibido algo de licor chocolatoso, semejante al de Amarula o Baileys Irish cream. Me fascinó! Lo único que me apena de este perfume delicioso, es que dura un suspiro en mi piel. Para mí, usarlo en la casa, en espacios cerrados y pequeños es una excelente opción para preservarlo un poco más y disfrutar de él.

I don't understand, are people not seeing the cacao note next to the coffee in the top section? Have you've ever made mocha? It's coffee with cacao with milk, and once you combine the two it doesn't smell like coffee anymore, it smells like mocha. That's why nobody smells coffee here. And please stop saying there's grapes or grape soda or whatever, this is very inaccurate. This is lovely. It's a mocha with brown butter and vanilla butter cookies that you enjoy in a coffee shop that has a lovely atmosphere. Maybe a hint of jasmine there but I don't mind that. Is it overwhelming when you first spray it? Yes. Because the brown butter and butter cookies with alcohol shoot up the nose, but you need to wait 30 seconds so it settles like with any other perfume. People really bash this perfume for no reason.

Despite what a lot of people say, I actually do smell the coffee scent that its supposed to give off, and don't find it overly sweet. I would not blind buy this however, as it's a really specific perfume scent that can be a hit or miss depending on the person and your expectations. I find that layering this with the original sweet tooth perfume gives it a little something more, but I also enjoy wearing it on its own. It's a stronger perfume compared to the original sweet tooth so I find that it lasts a bit longer as well. Overall I enjoy this perfume but would, like I said, not recommend a blind buy if you're picky.

I got this scent as a Sabrina fan to have in my merch collection and I didn't expect to like it as much as I do! It smells so cozy, like you're having a cup of cappuccino with a biscuit outside on a fresh autumn morning, and a shrub of jasmine grows nearby. I do understand why some people can describe this smell as a grape (I'd say 'grape soda'), but I quite like it. It's fresh and floral (almost fruity) and heavily gourmand at the same time. It lasts quite long on my skin (I can feel it after 6 hrs) and it's a perfect scent for a cold weather. Quickly became one of my top-3 perfumes.

I actually really like this one. A lot of people say it smells weird but smell it for yourself and do not listen to what they say!! This is my second favorite out of the sweet tooth line behind caramel dream. It has a strong jasmine smell initially but you can smell the cocoa as well. As it dries down you get more of the coffee and cocoa smell. Overall really great scent and works well with the whole sweet tooth line of perfumes. It reminds me of one of the black opiums I smelled a while ago. Similar fragrance notes as well if you're looking for a cheap alternative.

Honestly I am a big fan of this 🙈 I had read all of the negative reviews so I didn’t blind buy it, but when I saw a tester at a mall perfume kiosk, curiosity got the best of me. And...I was pleasantly surprised. Oddly I get a candy grape note out of it which reminds me of using Aussie hair spritz in the early 90’s. Now everytime I spray it I smile with nostalgia, remembering how my mom (RIP) would “do my hair” until I was like 13 because I sucked at using hair tools. I do wish it didn’t fade so quickly, but otherwise I adore this.

honestly i really don't understand the hate. i get that the first few seconds of spraying it, it might smell a bit weird but otherwise it smells amazing and cozy, i don't smell any grape whatsoever. it's long lasting for me, but i think it depends on how you spray it!! lasted almost the whole day recommend this for coffee lovers, a very comforting scent to me edit: after a little while of wearing this i CAN smell a little grape, but it doesn't mean i hate it. i'm still SO OBSESSED WITH THIS!!

I personally really like this scent. Sadly, though, I don’t get any of the coffee or espresso notes in the opening. What I do get is the delicious biscuit, caramel, and whipped cream. The jasmine and orchid are more in background in my nose. I think you can wear this anytime! I’m wearing it on a hot summer day, and I think it smells yummy, relaxing at home. I am a gay male who wears scents regardless of gender, but I would say this one does lean more feminine because it’s so sweet.

This scent really surprised me, but I love it! After I first sprayed it I got a blast of caramel coffee, but a few minutes later the coffee took a backseat. It became this cocoa and jasmine scent with this gorgeous café caramel background. The jasmine seemed a little unorthodox in a sugary gourmand, but it goes so beautifully with the rest of the fragrance and gives it a more mature edge. Very feminine and sweet, with a deeper undercurrent of coffee and cocoa.

To me this is very unique, wonderful and addictive scent. I'm not crazy about edible gourmands, and this one isn't edible, but like a very pretty light smoke coming from coffee that's made out of chestnuts if that makes any sense. There's also quite a lot of sweetness, but it's not cloying at all. It is quite distinctive and to me it was love at first sniff. Personally really surprised that people often hate it 🤔

I dont get the hate for this one. Honestly it's one of my favorites from Sabrina. I have a full bottle and the body mist. It's light, creamy, sweet but not too sweet, and a little floral. It's not overly gourmand. I don't get any kind of coffee or espresso in this. I was a little disappointed by that at first, but I do love the scent regardless. I wear it a lot.

Not a fan of Sabrina at all. I do not listen to her music nor like her. Was interested with bottle, even I saw her name on it. But to be honest I fell in love with this amazing fragrance immediately. So addictive ! As an coffee lover I love love this little piece of gem. Very interesting, sophisticated, rich aroma of coffee and sweets.

I LOVE this perfume! I first had it in body-spray form- and i had to get the full size bottle. To me, it's bubble tea deliciousness, with hints of creme brulee and cappuccino. After a while, I also get the jasmine notes too. I am seriously thinking on stocking up on it, as it is "special edition". Its only downside is its longevity.

I’m not sure why it has such bad reviews. I got this on clearance today and I want to run back and get more. Smells like coffee and powdered sugar. I know the original sweet tooth for me needed to be sprayed and sit away for quite a while. If you don’t like this. I’d say try to put it away and come back later. It’s gorgeous.

Okay so...I actually love this, it's a really bitter yet sweet, soft floral gourmand. It leans slightly mature, like something one of my Aunties would wear, but I mean that in best way possible. It feels grown, womanly & well balanced, I find this to be a really comforting scent, even my mum loves it as well.

Definitely not a coffee scent but I personally really like it. I'm not sure in which situation I'd wear this but it has a warm chocolately scent. Like the other Sabrina perfumes, doesn't last long and isn't really as strong as I'd like. Cute and cozy and I prefer it to Caramel Dream which is similar

Personally, I can see where some people are getting a grape soda vibe-- But I just get all biscuit and cream!! It feels a bit difficult to describe how it smells... creamy, soft, warm, DEFINITELY gourmand, I feel like it takes a bit of time to truly be able to appreciate it in full.

I absolutely love the scent. But it has no longevity bought it as a perfume first then body spray, hoping layering would extend it. It did not. As much as I love tge scent ad candy bar bottle ill probably stick with the body spray if I buy again, since neither lingers for very long

I got gifted this perfume for mothers day and I love it. Soft floral vanilla. Reminds me so much of my everyday perfume monotheme vanilla blossom. Will definitely be wearing during winter. If you like soft floral vanilla this is a good one. Easy to wear.

love it!! smells like cookies with some strong coffee, more espresso than cappuccino. stays pretty long on my skin, nice seasonal perfume edit: wore this for the whole day and started getting that grape soda that everyone was talking about. WHYYYYY 😭😭😭

Gorgeous scent but the bottle is sooooo ugly. Definitely not one that looks nice on display lol. It smells a lot like Black Opium. Unsure how anyone is getting grape.. a very overhated fragrance but that tracks with Fragrantica commenters

So this one truly only lasts about 3 hours, I generally don't have issues with scents not lasting and the previous 3 Sweet Tooth fragrances have lasted about 5-6 hours, maybe 9 on a perfect day. As far as the scent goes you do get coffee but only in the opening, it fades out after maybe 5 minutes. It's lovely well it lasts a milky, sweetened cappuccino. After that 5 minutes I briefly get dense, sweet sponge toffee and deep dark fruits, think blackberry and plum. The toffee goes in about 10 minutes leaving those dark fruits and after about an hour and a half it's a light basic vanilla skin scent. Considering Me Espresso is $10 more than the previous 3 Sweet Tooth fragrances and none of the notes are inherently short lasting, like citrus for example, it's pretty disappointing. I'm not normally one to complain about longevity, I'm okay with 5 hours as I often like to change my fragrance after 8 hours or so anyway, so for me to say it doesn't last I really do mean it.

Finally able to get this one! My local drugstore took a while to get it in stock. To address the elephant in the room: no, this isn’t really a “coffee” or “espresso” fragrance. However, ignoring the name, I think this really is a nice scent. I do get where people get the “grape soda” note from, which I believe is probably a mix of the orchid and cream, but it’s not overpowering and doesn’t smell bad. This is definitely more mature than the other Sweet Tooth entries thanks to its strong jasmine note, which is nice to see. Much like with Caramel Dream, both of these really have a similar DNA to Vera Wang Princess, so if you liked that you’ll probably like these too. Overall, an overhated fragrance that really shines in its own field. I feel like this could be a good transitional scent between winter and spring.

I don’t understand all the strong hate for this one because I have smelled many many way more awful scents. Perhaps my sense of smell is not as sensitive but I do not pick up notes of pee or feet or beer - all of which are disgusting. This one at first sniff, reminds me of a generic coffee scented candle or how it smells when you first walk into Starbucks. About half an hour later, it dries down to a soft non-offensive floral vanilla. That’s the best term I can think of to describe it: non- offensive. I got a 10ml spray for $9 (blind buy) so I’m ok with using this once in awhile. * update* This unfortunately doesn’t last more than maybe an hour before it fades away to almost nothing. I do like it more than I thought I would so it’s a shame I won’t re-purchase bc of that reason.

Its good, honestly. I don't understand why it gets so much hate. To me, it smells heavily of sweet biscuits dipped in cappuccino, and after that the coffee note gets less noticeable and it becomes sweeter and almost floral. Honestly? I might even label this as my second favorite Sweet Tooth perfume (first is Caramel Dreams). But, LIKE EVERY SWEET TOOTH PERFUME (except caramel dreams, the only good quality sweet tooth), IT IS SOOOOO WEAK! Literally evaporates from my skin after 30 minutes. Just gone, like it was never even there. You'd have to reapply every 15 minutes if you actually want other people to be able to smell it. If you're rich as hell and willing to buy a stack of this perfume and reapply it every damn time you think about it, go ahead and buy it

OVERHATED. yeah it definitely doesn't smell straight up gourmand coffee but in the best way possible (coming from a gourmand girly that likes super sweet gourmands), its smells like a floral coffee IN A GOOD WAY! I was slightly scared to buy this bc of all the people saying "oh it doesn't smell like anything" but I don't get ANY grape soda or jolly rancher but I do get that it smells like a Boba shop (which for me it isn't a problem honestly) the coffee is definitely there, in a gentle way so definitely note that. I feel like people don't like this perfume bc they expected something different, but if it was marketed as a floral-gourmand coffee fragrance or maybe brown sugar and amber even? It would be way less hated.

Such an overhated fragrance! I definitely find it to smell like the notes listed HOWEVER i do agree the coffee scent is more like a brown boba tea smell! It smells how I expected YSL Black Opium to smell. It smell very tasty, dark, rich and very unique. I haven't really smelt anything like it before. I find it sad it gets all the hate, i can't smell grape or soda at all??? It has no fruity notes. I do however think it smells a bit more bitter than expected and also more vanilla-ey. Still adore it! I sprayed it 5h ago and still smell it on me! Definitely try it and give it a shot, alot of people might hate it, but I like it and i can definitely see this be someone's signature.

Yet this also makes it effortless to wear and immediately approachable, offering an easy source of comfort whenever you crave a straightforward gourmand pleasure. Longevity on fabric is very good, while the sillage is moderate, settling into a skin scent relatively quickly.

I'm here to add yet another contradicting comment and I apologize. I really like this perfume. It is not a strong espresso, it's definitely more chocolate & Salted (!) caramel. It's perfect for a rainy day of ANY season, relaxing in the book store, or a cozy night in, but it is especially my favorite in November. It is not overwhelmingly strong, but it has decent silage. It is absolutely delicious and the packaging is adorable!! I often pair this with Mancera's Amore Caffe for a stronger espresso. You must smell this in person (most likely at your local mall!) because everyone's nose is different and this is one of those scents that you either love or hate.

i have the body mist version of this as it isnt listed on fragrantica im so sad this has so much hate towards it because personally this is one of my favorites sure, it doesnt have that literal coffee smell to it but it does have that biscuit, cocoa and chocolate note which appeals to me SO much, but at the same time, like some people said, i can smell some sort of mild dewy grape to this??? its probably the jasmine though though i will say, the perfume and body mist have the same projection and longevity, aka theyre both really weak and that makes me kinda sad however in my personal opinion i like this, its not groundbreaking though

opening is amazing.. too bad it lasts literally 30 seconds before it disappears entirely. it straight up smells like brown sugar milk tea at first! it quickly dies down into a sweet jasmine scent. longevity isn’t good. 2 hours, maybe 3ish hours if you overspray.. lasts longer than the OG sweet tooth though, at least on me. i adore the opening. this should’ve been called “brown sugar milk me” or “boba me please” lmfao. i don’t get any espresso. just a beautiful opening of a sweet boba shop, and then a light, milky, jasmine tea latte scent. whatever company makes these perfumes really needs to work on the performance of them.

I love this, but word to the wise it smells NOTHING like coffee. I haven’t gotten any of the grape notes people are talking about but it smells STRONGLY of jasmine and dried down to a boba tea smell. It’s very nice and floral, a nice alternative if you don’t like the pure desert feel of the og sweet tooth but dear GOD does the jasmine overpower everything. You might get a tinge of coffee underneath if you really sniff for it but it’s completely unnoticeable otherwise. It’s very strong and feminine though and I do really like it.
