Ambre Chic

I hate to say everything the other reviews have said, but it does smell exactly like Valentino Uomo Intense (I don't have Dior homme intense for comparison). Very minute differences are that the tangerine is more prevalent and smells a little like tang (the powdered citrus drink mix with the monkey) and there's less leather (I'm a leather scent lover). This probably works better in summer than Uomo Intense. Why? It's lighter on the heavier notes like the leather and iris as well as being mild; it doesn't really project or last. This is a wonderful fragrance because of its smoothness and price. (I'm going to layer it with leather though.) Update: Maceration has made this fragrance much more smooth and gorgeous. Definitely don't wear this in summer. I had to change my like to a love. In my opinion this is one of the best sub $30 fragrances available.

It's disgusting how cheap you can get this scent for, while paying more for the ocasional garbage youtube reviewers tend to hype. Literally, 16 dollars. If i paid 4 times more that i'd still be happy. This is 98% OG DHI/VUI. Nothing sharp or disgustingly synthetic. Sure, it doesn't perform like DHI or Valentino Uomo, those hit 20 hours easy for me specially DHI, but you can only bash its performance when comparing to those. Compared to the average frag, it's solid. I got about 11-12 hours with 3 sprays. Not bad at all. Again, i got this bottle for 16 dollars...and i wouldn't feel ripped off if someone actually ripped me off charging more for it. Double thumbs up.

Yesterday I’ve gotten a sample of this fragrance, and I tested it for the whole day. It has a very lovely aroma. The easiest way to draw an idea of it is by comparing it to Dior Homme Intense, or Valentino Uomo Intense. Perhaps a little different nuances here and there, but basically is the same. The only difference in my skin is the sillage, which isn’t as strong as the fragrances that inspired it, and the longevity is decent. If you already have DHI or VUI, perhaps there’s no reason to purchase this one, unless you want something cheaper to wear in order to save your expensive ones, or, as in my case, I’m tempted to get it just for it lovely aroma. My best blind buy, 20$ and one of my favorites now. There's something special with Iris that I can't get enough of, it's like an addictive drug I need to revisit regularly. When it was new it had a strange card board paper smell and synthetic Iris, but now it smells just like an well-blended, cheaper VUI.

Bang-on DH, DHI, Valentino Uomo et al clone. Longevity is good enough considering the price point. As with other inexpensive clones, the trick is simply spray more Compared to ZARA 9.0 I think this is better - the smell is more refined.

I think this is the best iris leather fragrance you can get for this price. Absolutely amazing for those of you who want fragrance like Dior Homme Original for every day use, but don't want to spend all this ca$h for it.

Amazing dupe almost 1:1, does not last as long but projects pretty well, you can really smell the 2016 VUI tonka bean and iris combo

This fragrance is alternative to Dior Homme 2005

#902 in my "Tour de Fragrance" My Iris scents addiction is public knowledge. This is a flat-out dupe of the old version of Valentino Uomo Intense that I have on the shelf next to the newer version I don't like as much. They came up with this scent in 2020 and Valentino changed the formulation the next year, and not for the better IMO. Patchouli works, but nutmeg changed the character of the scent. I have lots of the old version still on hand, but now I have this for when that runs dry. As one expects for the price, the longevity and sillage don't match that of the Valentino, but at this price you can overspray. And it's not in the database, but I think most people would also like the Santal Subtil, which I'll post on as review 903 when it show up in the database.

I don't have a refined sense of smell so I only smell a small ressemblance to Valentino Uomo Intense but to me it's smells 95% like Givenchy gentleman EDP. When I got Givenchy gentleman, I thought it smells like an other perfume I had and it was Ambre chic. You can get 3 Ambre chic for the price of 1 Givenchy gentleman edp, so it's worth it!

The note breakdown is exactly the same with Valentino Uomo Intense. Almost 1:1 copy and with average performance. I bought it 12€ .. so for the price is a perfect round 10/10. For the smell I cannot say much because Valentino Uomo Intense is one of the best designers fragrance eved made for me and for that reason I also love this one.

I absolutely adore the powdery iris and vanilla that it presents. It smells so fresh and lovely to me. I can imagine vivid imagery of an iris field at sunset whenever I smell this fragrance. However, I'd be lying if I said that Ambre Chic wasn't the epitome of wasted potential. Its presence is fleeting, absolutely does not last at all and it becomes a skin scent very soon after spraying. With that being said, I still love this fragrance. I would say that it's wearable any time of the year, just as long as it doesn't get too hot. Going along with my 'iris field at sunset' analogy, I'd consider Ambre Chic to be a night-time fragrance. Performance issues aside, $20 on Amazon is an absolute steal for something like this.

First sprays, gives off a cardboard scent but with the VUI DNA. After some maturation, it removes a bit of the cardboard scent and the vanilla takes over. I will definitely mention that this does not have alot of oil, alot more alcohol, you can tell on your skin. It does in the air smell like VUI though! It is 90% there. It is missing the leather accord richness that VUI has. The iris is good on this though! I wouldn't say this should directly replace VUI, because VUI is not that expensive from this $20, and you can find VUI for $70, I'd say it's worth saving for VUI. It's a like from me for the scent DNA, but points off for longevity and missing some important notes.

Took a gamble on this awhile back as the only online information I could find was that it shared similarities with Dior Homme Parfum. Surprised to see there's still little information about this so here's my review. Yes, this is a Dior Homme clone. It smells alright not bad at all for the low price point. The performance however is a real shocker to the point I wouldn't recommend this despite how cheap it is. If you're looking for a cheap clone for the Dior Parfum I would recommend Zara 9.0 over this as they smell the same but the Zara will give you more performance for a similar price.

I recently bought this from a reputed showroom, its a great smell, however very sad about the projection and longevity, its not even getting half an hour.... Not recommended

I can only echo what others have said. Ambre Chic is a clone of the pre 2021 formulation of Valentino Uomo Intense (now discontinued, but still available at discounters). I have the original Valentino and have just compared them on either hand. The scent profile is near identical, but there are some differences. Ambre Chic is sweeter on the drydown and a little bit more lipsticky, which may appeal to some. Whereas the OG has more leather with subtle sweetness on the drydown. Also, the original has better longevity. In terms of price in the UK, the new formulation Valentino Uomo Intense costs around £110 a bottle. It's still available in Europe, but discontinued in North America. If it becomes discontinued worldwide, then this price is likely to increase. On the other hand, Ambre Chic costs £13 and that makes it outstanding value for money. If you like sweet Iris and want to experience the OG with a near identical scent profile, then Ambre Chic is a must buy. Only someone from the fragrance community could tell the difference up close. I love this muchly.💓

Only bought this because I didn't want to pay the high price for Valentino Uomo Intense. The iris is extremely dominant. I think I also smell a bit of the tonka, but other than that, I can't really smell anything else. The vanilla seems to be so faint that I can't really tell if I can even smell it or not. Can't smell the leather either. This seems to just be my issue with this fragrance. Not a bad smell at all just a little disappointed that I can't smell anything else but straight iris.

First of all this smells AMAZING. So close to Valentino. But good lord the performance. It’s lasts for like 2 hours on skin, and only like 6 on clothes. I guess it’s worth buying if you get a travel atomizer and carry it with you. I’m going to have to do that. Also it’s actually so light and short that it would be okay in the summer. For $12 I guess I can’t complain
