Saffron & Cedar

I may be the last person on the planet to be able to say this, but I have never smelled BR 540 and can't comment as to whether this is a dupe or not. All I know is that I like this, it doesn't make me sneeze or give me a headache, and it lasts longer than I thought it would. I finally got the chance to try all the Salt & Stone mists at Sephora the other day and this one stood out as my favorite, although I like the idea of layering them. I don't mind that this is one that needs occasional topping up, since I seem to have entered a less-is-more phase with my perfume preferences these days. This one is very sweet on me without being cloying or cupcakey, which is exactly what I was looking for--pure sugar and saffron with the cedar coming through more in the drydown. Wearable year-round, would layer well with lots of other types of scents. Understated elegance that doesn't take over a room. I dig it. UPDATE: since first reviewing this fragrance I have had the chance to sample BR and honestly do not care for it compared to this. BR540 has a metallic note that I absolutely do not care for and I do not get that at all from Saffron & Cedar. The similarities are there but this smells different enough on me in its own right that I can't even compare the two. I also prefer that this wears much closer to the skin.

Very close to Baccarat Rouge 540 or Bond No 9 Tribeca. Good to layer with those fragrances and use the body wash first for projection. I think it's best for fall/winter, day or night.

I smelled this before I smelled BR540. When I (finally) got my hands on BR540, I was like “I’ve smelled this before” and figured out it was b/c of this. I love saffron and rather than BR540, I wear Electimuss Trajan. I don’t really bother with this spray except to maybe throw the travel size in my bag to touch up. What I do love is the body wash and NEW body cream (there’s lotion, too, but that scent lasts 2 seconds). The BW and cream are great bases for other frags that have saffron if you’re a dry old white lady like moi.

bought it with the matching deoderant.... very mild but pleasant scent, perfect for things like lab work or going out in tightly packed public spaces, where you want to smell nice but it's not socially acceptable to wear something that is noticeable. No clue of the BR perfume - but cedar + saffron smells like some hot, musky, vaguely salted creamy mix made from fragrant wood chips. I enjoy it.

It’s br540 in a lighter fragrance mist. Smells like any other br540 clone I’ve smelled and last a decent while for a body spray. This would be nice for someone new to fragrance. But been done so many times. I’d maybe suggest the deodorant version if you have br540 or any clone. Not sure this is worth a purchase with so many other br options out there.

BR 540 clone. Did I need another one? No. BUT this one is very nice for a mist. Compared to the OG this is lighter and a bit less sugary. The medicinal note is a little more prominent but less so than other clones I have like Cloud and Dossiers Ambery Saffron. I'm not mad at it and will likely use it to layer

Nice and airy sweetness. Smells a little metallic to me😬Cute. I might give it another try. Edit: I did buy the full size and I really enjoy it.

The more palatable version of BCR540. Less rusty pennies and more powdery.

Very warm citrus scent. Not sweet. Has some freshness. Nice 😊

This is like a relative of Baccarat Rouge 540, but less sweet. I've been exposed to too much Baccarat and find the similarity tiring, so I don't want to wear it personally. I had sampled it in a Sephora and ran some errands afterward, two young women approached me out of the blue at the grocery store to tell me I smelled good and ask what I was wearing, so it seems to be a crowd-pleaser. For a "Body and Hair Fragrance Mist" it has good longevity, better than many perfumes, which makes the price pretty fair.

It smells exactly like a lighter version of baccarat rouge. It has the same sugary sweetness. Probably a good option if you like the original but it’s too strong for you.

It’s a baccarat rouge dupe, that’s it. Maybe slightly spicier if you want to split hairs.

I don't know why it's apparently okay for a brand to have 5 scents and have 3 of them be blatant Le Labo ripoffs, one a copy cat of MFK, and another of Aesop? The lack of originality or effort is honestly disgusting. This one a ripoff of BR540

No joke it smells like rotting animals

This smells like the rich girl who stole your boyfriend. It radiates an aura of effortless wealth, youthful success, and pure glamour. yes this smells like br540. not sure why i felt the need to buy this considering i already have that one, but oh well. i find this a bit more wearable than br540. where mfk’s has a very dense, heavy, almost sweaty profile to me, saffron & cedar feels a bit more light, airy, and sweet. alas they are almost identical and you don’t need this if you have br540 or any of the other 288383848 dupes of it. it’s nice that they have an entire line of body care products with the matching scent though and this does last decently well for a body spray

A classic clean fragrance with zero florals and zero gourmand/vanilla. This smells like a hybrid of Jo Malone Sea Salt & Wood Sage and the original CK One, it’s a true unisex genderless fragrance. Smells clean fresh out of the shower, sweet, woody & aquatic - reminds me of an expensive spa.

Well, most of the notes aren’t here for me. I get dry dusty saffron and a hint of sweetened but dried out cedar wood. No cedar oil here. It’s pretty much a ringer for BR540 on me. It’s okay but nothing to get excited about.

Definitely has the BR540 dna but this is way sweeter. Not as much depth as the OG but of course because it's a body mist. Too sweet for me, but if you're looking for a sweeter lighter version of BR 540,give this a try.

Smells a lot like santal 33 and MFK BR!! The body wash is glorious. I got it as a free sample from sephora. I need the fragrances and deodorant and lotion now.
