Vanilla Monsoon

Vanilla Monsoon is a very particular type of vanilla scent. On my skin, from the very first seconds until hours later, it has a minty nuance. For me, this scent is rather a minty vanilla than an aquatic vanilla, as described by the notes! With that distinction out of the way, I really love Vanilla Monsoon. It’s sweet, rich and dense but also fresh and minty. It’s unlike any other vanilla dominant perfume I’ve in my collection, which is something to truly value, on a market overflowed with sugary, candy, sweet or oudy/woody vanillas. The route that Salum Parfums took is enticing and it’s new, while focusing on vanilla. It has an uniqueness about the way it smells that’s both alluring and distinctive! It’s a luxurious vanilla with a twist! I said I am not buying anything vanilla focused, but I a bottle of this vanilla!

I was eager to try this out, and boy, this is something out of this world! It is not your typical vanilla. If anything, it smells like a sweet, sweet storm. It most definitely smells medicinal in some way, but the salty marine notes blend beautifully with the patchouli, creating a symphony. The vanilla in this fragrance is quiet, but omnipresent. It has a vivid projection, yet a smoother sillage. Very interesting as a fragrance and a noteworthy work of art. It completely changes your mood and aura while you wear it. Longevity is out of this world. Fun part is, every time you smell it, there is a different smell; depending on what you are envisioning in your mind.

Wonderfully weird vanilla! Opens with star anise-ish vibes and something almost minty, then settles into this cozy vanilla bean with a hint of cardamom-infused salty sea spray. Effortlessly sexy in a sweat pants and t-shirt, hair in a messy bun, I woke up like this kind of way. Projects and lasts really well, makes me want to hug myself. I would wear this in all kinds of weather, day or night.

Love this unique take on vanilla. Begins with a refreshing citrusy sweetness with the cardamom giving a slightly spicy sensation. A strange mix of sweet, citrus and spice that is blended to provide that uplifting energy of a tropical monsoon coming in. The vanilla and jasmine do begin to settle into almost sugary sweetness that could become a little cloying in the humidity of a tropical storm . I like it but probably not enough to buy a full bottle as I live is a very hot humid location and it would be too heavy or sweet for me for most of the year.

Dating myself, but back in the ‘80s, there was a fragrance called Forever Krystle by Charles of the Ritz. This reminds me A LOT of that. For me, it’s a minty vanilla, with a powdery, but salty dry down. It’s nostalgic, bringing back pleasant memories of my mom’s friend who wore it.

Its a nice perfume but i can not stand acquatic or salty notes, that ruined it for me 🥲 people that enjoy those notes may love it. Its powerful and unique. Just not for me.

decently spiced opening, citrusy, quite fresh honestly, almost minty, but also salty, smells like what a random face cream would smell like, rather synthetic and powdery, feels a bit too sharp at first, over time it smoothens out and gets a little better overall, but it's basically the same scent minus the spicy and citrusy parts which fade out on the dry down as someone who already doesn't like marine/aquatic scents, it doesn't really help my enjoyment of it, the notes just feel way too synthetic throughout

One of the most repulsive scents I've ever tried!! This is a straight cough syrup and menthol scent. I immediately gagged and threw away my sample. Please try first! Definitely not a blind buy. That said, I have Cocoyster Bananita, Morrea Guava, and Caviar Rose from Salum.
