Dali Parfum

I think this is an extraordinary scent. I have two mini bottles and will likely purchase a few more. I also have to bottles of the original PDT, and I plan on wearing a few drops of this, layered with a spray of the PDT for better projection and silage. I would never have considered purchasing them if it wasn't for the stellar reviews. Salvador Dali was weird and wonderful in so many ways, but could he possibly produce a great fragrance? Yes, yes he could! The incense is intoxicating,and the spices and sandalwood add to an aura of seduction. This baby has depth in either form, but the parfum seems bottomless!! I have been on an incense kick lately - all different types - and though I purchased these prior to my latest fragrance adventure, it hits the spot and has much of what I've been looking for. I don't really detect the florals in this, as my skin amplifies the heavier notes, but that's just another good excuse to wear this - I need to analyze it more! Works for me!

This is what I thought Chanel Coco would smell with my chemistry. Why did I put it off so long to purchase a vintage bottle of Salvador Dali? indeed I smell incense followed by cloves. I don't smell a clear rose because I keep smelling carnation-the cloves. Finally I delight in the note I've waited for-oakmoss. I'm sorry to say, it is elusive, but it lingers until it fades 24 hours later!!! THIS is what I've been looking for since we said goodbye to Coty Chypre, 80's formulation. Totally different, I know, but there it is. There have been many happy discoveries since I've joined Fragrantica: Maroc, Aromatics Elixir, Rabanne La Nuit, Mitsouko, Shalimar, more, but I now have all I need, for now. Very aromatic Chypre,very womanish and bright.Rose in this fragrant very same like in E.Coudray Nohiba,I own and love,not a fresh but some potpourri yellow kind of rose with hint of incence,flowery one,dry and not heavy att all.Dali could be taken like a bold oriental in the opening,but then it is calming down and morphs into lemony balsamic chypre with same dna like the big brother Salvador Dali perfume.What I like best about this fragrant that the dry down never become the kind of a man scent,like it usually turns with the other chypre scents on my skin.This one is not that dry like Nohiba,but they are sharing a lot of same character Love them both...

Vintage:If you are looking for a perfume that smells of only clove and incense, you found it. To me, this is what a spicy scent should smell like. I have a small vintage dabber and I wish I could find at least a vintage 1oz parfum. I have a tendency to dab this on before bed. It is such a warm heavenly aroma. This is the nighttime to the daytime Dali Parfum De Toilette. Current: There is a synthetic metallic smell to this for about a good 30 minutes when you first spray. This is VERY different to the vintage. Although this fades it is missing the sensual warmth of the original.

I love this resinous goat frankincense. The fragrance is like a coven of witches in an old church or a gathering of progressive intellectuals in the contemporary art exhibition hall in a former Gothic cathedral, which, by the way, is essentially the same thing. The perfume is so cozy, warming and abstracting from the animal-sexual component of a person that it is not specifically intended as a marker for any gender, age, social class. It rises above all this fluidity, and it can be worn anywhere and anytime.

Joy and Opium meet Bakir and Magie Noire, and then invite Boucheron to the party too. Gorgeous upon gorgeous wafts eminate from this absolute beauty. Buy vintage perfume on ebay if you can as vintage perfume is best in my opinion. May be my favourite perfume ever. Nothing says evening glamour like this one. Bold but soft at the same time. Smokey powder floral yum smooth bourbon vanilla.

I am wearing this tonight after a boozy night out with the boys, and it is extraordinary. At this point it is unisex in its sexy amberyness, but also redolent in a dynamic richness that is rare. I CHerish my mini for it is deep and dark and vibrant and maybe sinister. Absolute perfection.

Bought a vintage mini off eBay. Starts off an amazing sister to Youth Dew but centered on rose. Then fades to be very similar to Coco by Chanel. What’s not to love - if perhaps slightly derivative.

I've got a splash bottle of this. I love the smoky aspect of this scent, I'll be buying a full sized bottle when I've finished the splash bottle.

Easily the best incense fragrance in my collection. Soapy clean yet smoky and rosey. I love it.

I was intrigued to try this one. But it's not that kind of old-fashioned fragrances that I like. Just too bitter( I had tried vintage.

I have a big 100 ml bottle and it's up for grab. Happy to swap it because I hate how strong it is on me.

Love at first sniff. Truly an intoxicating scent. I feel like I should be wearing a slinky black dress, stilettos, and hair piled mile high. Sexy and glamourous as all get out. I've had this fragrance for some time but was afraid to even use it because I thought it would be too strong. What a mistake! In many ways it's easier to wear than the pdt. (reformulated silver box). Only reservation is that I just have a mini and bigger bottles of the vintage juice are impossible to find. Looks like I'll have to stock up on more minis before this completely disappears from the market.

Well I have to say the parfum version of Salvador Dalì is very different from the parfum de toilette I own which is suffocating, harsh, while, Incredibly, this is more "fresh" youc can sense a sort of light louminous jasmine, something like muguet, balsamic, spicy, similar to GmVenturi and Coeur de Parfum by Jacomo maybe. It has something of joy and Samsara also after one hour. Of course is also similar to the mentioned PdT but in some way more gentle, natural, soapy, and much more weareable. This is a real discover a little treasure.

This perfume gets compliments like no other. My absolute favorite scent. What is it about chypres that scares modern perfumers? They are nearly absent in "modern" scents. Not for little girls who like candy cotton scents. Not for the nose dead who lean heavily on white flowers and jasmine. Not for the timid who can barely wear anything but flaccid light florals and faux musks. This perfume is for the woman who feels sexy inside and out, and is badass enough to rock it in the office or the boudoir. Definitely not for little girls.

It is a fantastic perfume. It smells defenitly diffrent than the parfum de toilette. That one is realy nice an has an cosy scent to it. For me both fragences has an 1980s smell to it. But this one is better with a more incense smell. Realy good an a favourite of my aunt.

I am the fortunate owner of this very Daliesque black lipped bottle whose ingredients are the epitome of vintage beauty! Rich and luxurious and the ingredients reflect a lost time. The sandalwood, incense and oakmoss are beyond compare.

I smell honey,vanilla, flowers and human poo in it a bit - in a weird good way . I love it, one of my favourites, very warm, soft, but hypre in the background.
