Daliflor

This is one of my all time favourite perfumes. I first discovered the delicious shower gel which I used on a trip to Egypt. I didn't know what first appealed to me about this scent until I read the ingredients and then it all became clear to me. Initially this perfume smells very fresh but then a depth is revealed which has many layers. It is just so cooling yet sensual. It is an extremely unusual scent and I feel very unique when I wear it. I have never ever smelt anything remotely similar. It is summer and springtime all rolled into one and it is exotic. It might not suit the 'younger nose' who prefer trendy perfumes. I am 44 now and I have been wearing this since my late 30s. I also love the beautiful colours on the box. The bottle, well it is not my favourite, you can't exactly pop it in your handbag, but hey, that doesn't matter. If you are looking for something unusual then this is your fragrance.It lasts very well on my skin too, and that is always a bonus. I would say it lasts without hanging around in that irritating way that very strong perfumes do. PS every time I wear it I am reminded of my wonderful trips to Egypt :)

I bought this EDT because it is a predominantly violet scent, and I thought it would be nice to have violets in my collection. I think this scent has a fruity freshness to it initially, then changes to parma violets. There's a coolness to it which I think works for the summer season. I've worn it over the past week and a half, I like to put it on after exercising and on hot days. Emotionally, I'm not connecting with it. It's the lack of warmth. I sprayed on with Harajuku lovers Love today, and I find I enjoy it more like that. It's the end of summer now, and I like the perfume much more. I'm not layering it with anything else, it smells best on the skin, and has a lovely base to it. A really lovely floral, at no point is it heavy, and no hint of cheapness I've sprayed it on my skin in the morning and I can still smell it on my skin when I go to bed

“Turkish delight” is a wonderful comparison, although this confection would maybe have some Sour Patch dust sprinkled on it! This rosy, fruity concoction is so bright and joyful. Like it’s sister Dalistyle, to me it’s a tart-fruity floral, with a slight edge that makes it charmingly weird. Of the two, this is the more user-friendly, but with all the whimsy and oddness of the other. I would almost imagine that a person who loves or hates the bottle will feel the same way about the fragrance inside. I have both the EDT and EDP, the latter stays louder for longer.

One of my favorite Dali scents. I can't say it's poor lasting. On me it's long enough. To my surprise I feel violets there more than roses, 'cause roses usually dominate. Violet with citrus notes gives an interesting result, it's not an usual "fresh citrus" scent, but rich evening fragrance. It's extravagant as old Dali scents are. I don't like modern Dali scents of recent years, they don't have their own "face" and dissolve between other modern fragrances.

extremely synthetic surrealistic: melting plastic -play doh + grape soda + honey. it's crazy but I love it. It resembles some kind of plastic from my childhood (or poster paints ?????) and my grandma flowery eau de toilette. Don't discontinue! EDP - more honey, EDT - more grape soda and plastic color: light violet, mauve ? music: Porque Te Vas - Jeanette ? Pandora - Cocteau Twins ?

I love Daliflor EdT, too. It's my second best after Dalissime in the Salvador Dali line. Fresh, inspiring, playful and exciting.

Candied roses and violets. Nice and fresh. Happy, bright and very unusual, fancy make up smell. I truly love it.

On my skin, this is a bright, clean floral fragrance, with no creamy or powdery undertones. Because it is so bright and cheery, I only wear it during the day; I don't think it has enough intensity for night time. I wear it to the office a lot, though. For the first few minutes, I get violet, rose, lily-of-the-valley, and a hint of citrus. As the day goes on, the floral intensifies, but stays crisp, and the fruity notes go away. The description says rose is the star, but I think the violet and lily-of-the-valley are slightly stronger. I can pick up the barest hint of vanilla underneath it all. The sweetness can make this one slightly headache-inducing if I put on too much, so I just dab a small amount on my neck, then wipe any excess on my wrists or the back of my knees. Sillage is relatively soft, lasting power is at about 4-5 hours. I've been nursing a sample for a while, but I might buy a small bottle at some point. After all, the price is right, and I'm a huge Dali fan!

The story: In 1935, Salvador Dali was sitting in his garden. The silhouette of some vegetations inspired his painting, A Woman with a Head of Roses. The bottle to this perfume is a sculpture of that surreal painting. Rumor has it that the juice is inspired by the vegetations from that very garden. The scent: I have the EDT (the green bottle with the translucent cap of roses in a pink box). It starts very refreshing with lots of verbena and citruses. This zesty accord remains throughout the life of the EDT. As the citruses calm down, I sense candied Parma violets, rosewater that are kept fresh by Lily of the valley and Jasmine. Later the dry down is the ubiquitous wood musk accord. I cannot sense the vanilla per se, but it is probably adding to the sweetness of the violets. The performance of the EDT is week, but it is very pleasant and I don’t mind reapplying in the summer heat.

Thank you, Sindri, for your wonderful review, explaining the difference between the EDT and the EDP. I am reviewing the EDT, which is the green bottle and pink box. I blind bought this and very much like the initial opening of green notes, but then it turns a bit to a synthetic powder which I don't much care for. I understand the reference to playdoh and synthetic notes that other reviewers have mentioned. I sense that as well. This smells a little bit like Cacharel's Eden to me.

Daliflor edp makes me think of oakmoss even though that note isn't in the pyramid. I can't make out the notes that are in there, lemon verbena certainly smells differently than this perfume. Nevertheless, DF. is lovely, with good sillage and lasting power. This womens fragrance would work well on men since it's not overly feminine. The Dali line of fragrances is well known for distinctive bottles, and DF is a good example, the flacon is based on an early painting by the master.

EDT - firstly, the bottle is amazing! Secondly, this is a sweet lemon verbena scent. At first it smells the way 7UP tastes. Eventually, the violets come in but the lemon verbena lingers in the background. Great for summer.

Pleasant, though a little synthetic-smelling. An unmemorable floral. Wouldn't buy it again.

Wow, did I hate this perfume on first sniff! It pimp-slapped me with something loud, sharp and floral; like Freedom for Her and Something Blue made a demon love child! Whoa! It was so awful! I almost thought it had gardenia power punching in with its lack of voice modulation, and talent in making me both flinch and squint simultaneously. Needless to see (which is why I will say it) I immediately listed it for sale on eBay, and have been since procrastinating this review. Tired of seeing it repeat itself on my daily To-Do list, I did the unthinkable and resprayed. Well, I am actually considering it now. Maybe it needed time to settle, or maybe I did, either way its fairly descent. I am shocked! It went from sharp and synthetic to this rather creamy, soapy floral. The dry-down is where it's at, with an almost dryer sheet-clean feel. Lily of the valley plays hard, along with this fantastic violet, from the heart through the finish. The Lemon Verbena relaxes, and lingers softly with this white muskiness, gently kissed with jasmine. I haven't detected any grapefruit, and I'm not to sure about the presence of vanilla. What I am sure of is the self reflection that my first impressions are not always right, and to be patient with fragrances. I mean, how many of us want to be smelled right away after riding for a week in a truck. So, I no longer hate this. And maybe one day, I'll thank my blind buying persuasions. This company puts out some really great original, slightly quirky scents, and this one is no different. Then again, that may be one of my favorite things about this house. Dalilight, for instance, was love at first sniff! I hear that that one has also been discontinued, so - figures. And they wonder why us perfume obsessed get so very superstitious regarding our favorite scents.

Not bad but not for me. In the bottle - curious! Floral lemoncello and something I can't place. On my skin - starts off with turkish delight rose and powdery old-woman florals with sugary undertones. Violet. Synthetic. Once it warms up on me - the more subtle soapy/citrus/woody notes appear but in the back there's still that baked confectionery, gourmet element that repels me (I'm not into gourmet scents!). It soon loses the brightness I appreciated in the bottle andbecomes kind of stale and weird. I'm reminded of M&S's Florentyna! (although this stuff isn't so punchy and overpowering) It's very late 90's European generic floral. I'm often in the mood for a nostalgic, old fashioned floral smell but this one isn't something I'd wear. For the record, I've been reviewing the EDT and it has no staying power.

For the first few minutes after spraying it's a quite pleasant floral fragrance. But after that, it just smells like... chicken soup. I have no idea why, which notes give this bizzare result. It's probably my weird skin chemistry. I've tried this several times and I always ended up smelling like a salty chicken soup. Now, that's a gourmand scent ;).

Terrible smell of old compact powder. This flowery mess tries to be fresh and green so hard, yet falls flat like a soapy water where you washed some flowers. And I do not understand why: based on the notes I had expected a nice rounded fragrance in the gorgeous bottle... Such a disappointment!

Bought as a light floral scent, which is exactly what you get on first spraying, but then it turns to an odd burnt smell,which I find unpleasant. Bought cheaply, so I'll use it up, but won't be buying more. Disappointed.

So not a pleasant smell, soapy-synthetic, old fashioned, very nostalgic and overall extremely irritating. I recommend test it before buying blind like I did just cause the bottle is attractive. big mistake !

This I have in the back of my bathroom cabinet. I does nothing for me, and i simply does not like the scent. Not a good smell at all!

I'm a huge fan of Dali in general and I got a miniature bottle of this just because I collect them. Judging by the notes, I wasn't expecting to love it so my expectations were low anyway but somehow this still managed to disappoint😕 it's so harsh and strong, I had to wash it off. Smells like some old lady perume but unfortunately NOT in a classy "Chanel no 5" kind of way...

Daliflor gives me the image of a contemporary and sentimental artist in the city. Inspired by vintage things and antiques, she clutters her house with them along with potpourri of flowers. The first thing I thought of were nuts for some reason. But its kind of like a sharp but light smell of ripe fruits and something like dried flowers. Its not just a fresh-citrus or light-floral, its a combination of both plus a little more 'umph'. Its quite unique [to me at least]. Out of so many perfumes I tested, Daliflor definitely stood out. But it took some time for me to actually appreciate and love it. Overall, its really pleasant and likable but, I would understand how some would call it 'stale' and 'weird'. Its one of those scents with a pretty solid personality that either pleases you or not. The only thing I wish however was more power - projection and longevity. sillage: light-moderate longevity: 5 hours max

I bought this perfume (the green bottle) back in 2005. It's funny because, if I didn't know it, and wanted to try it now, solely based on fragrantica comments, I would be afraid of blind buying it (they don't sell it anymore on stores), because it is one of those that is divisive.And sounds like an alien thing...lol. But I bought it then, and...althgough I agree that it wasn't that typical pretty, conforting, delicate, or whatever we are always expecting from a perfume... It really was unique. I knew I was using something a bit unusual. Almost niche ! Something out of the box. I was never a perfume expert, and still am not, but I really felt that, back then, which was strange. That was 2005, a year when perfumes were still good perfumes. Now, with all these reformulations, I don't know....These are just my 2 cents solely based on that past experience.

The lemon verbena opening is fresh and bright, which sets the tone for the whole perfume composition (I have EDP). When the spray settles very 90s soapy lily-of-the-valley dominates the fragrance, which fades completely within few hours (and fresh air can really speed it up, so my preference is to wear it if I’m leaving home). Then comes bright, tender and enveloping rose and violet grounded on barely there musky woods. There is something appealing in this floral combination of lily-of-the-valley, which later is taken over by violet and rose. I guess it is its simplicity and quite unexpected lemon verbena brightness (almost watery and cucumbery edge, especially in the opening), which makes this perfume. Happy and young, and romantic. Leaning feminine, spring daytime, long lasting with moderate sillage.

I have just got mine , I don't deny I bought it for the bottle & because I am a Dali fan ..The notes seemed very much my alley but after trying it , it 's not your usual green , clean , a bit flowery Summer scent ; NO ..It's VERY UNUSUAL just like Dali's paintings ..It starts sharp with lemon verbena then the citrus continue a bit without any sweet notes ...Then slowly - very slowly you start to get the violets & lily of the Valley ( the flowers here are rather dried though ) I had it for almost half an hour now on my wrist and it still develops ..Will update . update: so nice for a hot spring day , but don't over do it The bottle is to die for

Salvador Dali met a woman in a garden in the middle of the night, an apparition made from vegetal matter as one often sees in a garden out the corner of your eye. To celebrate the dialogue they had he painted "Woman with a head of roses" in 1935. The bottle recalls in form the image presented in the painting. The fragrance beckons the garden of Dali from 1935. Vintage flowers converse through dry woods and are introduced with a major spritz of classic grapefruit. Delightfully retro with the EDP offering a superior experience. Worthy of great fragrance wardrobes.

After sniffing a miniture bottle of this I wasn't sure but after applying some of to my wrists and neck this morning its notes really did surprise me. I loved the opening of this Dali and wanted to love the perfume but my nose did not seem to agree with it as by the afternoon I had developed a headache. Until that point it was a pleasant experience, definitely rosy in a turkish delight kind of way. It reminded me of something or someone from my past but couldn't put my finger on what. Olfactory overload..should I risk it again?

its a floral.. a sweetish.. Turkish delight kind of scent.. almost like rose water.. that they add to oriental and Arabic sweets ..i am not a rose lover and its definitely not my type.. but if you love roses this is a strange rose affair.. with strange Turkish rose.. sandalwood some citrucy notes a bit powdery its a feminine modern scent its on the lighter side yet still warm an evening perfume casual ware edp 50 ml perfume ratting 3.7 out 5 bottle ratting 4.7 out 5 my personal liking ratting 2.7 out 5

EDT: Ripe fruits; Potpourri; Citrus; Lemongrass; Roses. Does smell quite fresh and "modern", maybe unique too but then again Im not THAT experienced with parfumes. Over all I like it. I'm pinch bit curios about the EdP.

This is for the EdT. Doesn't smell flowery to me at all-very synthetic. I got one comment that it smelled like "plastic". Poor sillage, mediocre longevity.

That's the perfum that i wear during humid weather and when i start having sinus problems.. it is just like sweet flowery water or sort of body mist..

I don't like it much. It smells pleasant, but it's not interesting at all to me. It probably won't last very long either.

i really like this bottle. i have a feeling that i might like the fragrance as well. i'll look for this one asap. :)

I got Eau de Toilette in pink box and I like floral smell, just no more then one spray, works for me!

Today I'm wearing this and it somehow smells like a vintage lipstick my mum had! Cool! ;) I like it!
