Dalimix Gold

Damn! This stuff is good! I got this for the Old Hammer, but after wearing this to my last community service and receiving two complements, I think I'll keep it for myself. Those gals at the nursing home really know their $#!T. It took 30 sprays for them to pick up on it through their N-95 masks, but it was worth it. And guys, if you're worried that this Golden Girl is gonna be too "Estelle Getty", don't - she's all "Bea Arthur"! Totally unisex. What I smell: A light fizziness, Mint, Woody-Soap, New-in-the-box Atari joysticks. What she smells: A country garden, shaving cream, Afternoon rain-shower. Her extemporaneous remarks: Jesus..... How much did you apply - don't forget Evelyn has emphysema. What this fragrance would wear if it wasn't already a fragrance: Anything from the Barbara Stanwyck Collection. Conclusion: This is one of those "apply-before-bed and sneak sniffs under the covers" fragrances (and you know you do it too).

Oooooh, this is quite gorgeous! Aromatic, herby, green, bitter, clean, fresh, spicy/sweet, dry floral (in this order). I put it on this morning and ever since I have been feeling like I am enveloped in fragile bubbles of a proper old-fashioned mint soap. But Dalimix Gold is not that clean, that's really just a faint undertone, this "purity". It is full of this green, root-y, slightly spicy, balsamic zing. I am not smelling the rose, but the jasmine is there for me. A unique, somehow androgynous creation, it's quite the opposite of "gold" in my opinion, but maybe that's in sync with Dali's quirkiness. Absolutely lovely!

This smells kinda masculine in the beginning but then not quite, a true unisex perfume. It smells like some green plant root or leaf, fresh and pleasant. My mom used to own this when i was little, back when the bottle was still matte and the box a bit different. Can't compare the scents cause i didn't smell the old one but my mom says it's the same.

I'm not absolutely sure, but I believe this (along with Dalimix Black) was intended to be unisexual along with Dalimix Original (silver). I'm a guy and I wear it on occasion anyway. I don't find it particularly sexy- rather, it has a dreamlike quality that reminds me of a misty autumn day with a silver sun shining through golden leaves. It has green and floral top-notes which linger not for long before heart-notes of rose and dry woods emerge, and leave behind a crumbling base of tonka and perhaps just the foundation of jasmine. The whole effect is unusual, transparent, and has the ability to grace a morning and a walk or an afternoon spent shopping and then leave, quietly closing the door behind.

This is a beautiful crisp summer fragrance that can be had for a song. It does open up in masculine territory, sharp notes that really turned me off in the beginning. I purchased this fragrance in cool weather months and it was not a good fit for my chemistry. Now summer is here and the weather is hot, I find Dalimix Gold with it's clean, crisp, minty coolness to be very refreshing. It stays a bit sharp on my skin for about a half an hour then the floral notes take over and it is very pretty. Perfect for summer!

Some notes on this little number with one extremely loud voice: I wish there was a category of scents called 'yellow'. Allow me to explain. Calling a perfume 'green' implies verdancy; some form of vegetation. Whether it is achieved herbaceously, or with some other deeply chloroformic process. To me, it is a note that effects all the senses. When you experience Herba Fresca, for instance, you can smell the mint, grass, and dewy clover as if you were trampling through a meadow some spring morning. That's what I hear when I hear 'green', and baby dolls, you have to wait a good long while before you get any of those notes with this one! This juice hits my nose the same way pollen does. Like playing helicopter in a field of flowery alfalfa; knocking the powder with a stick and dancing in the cloud, only to arrive back home looking floured like a bumble bee; eyes red, nose weeping and assaultive sneezing. Everything is fun and games until after bath hours, when the screaming headache takes over. That's this perfume. The opening whips out blinding Galbanum and Cassis to a degree that all other notes are lost in the fray of bitterness and ammonia based chords. This is the point that teeters towards the smell of bug spray or old urine. This is also the point that the buyer begins regretting yet another bold blind buy. The opening, with all its lack of voice modulation, feels like a bit of forever before the dry down comes in, and starts to sort out more delicate notes. I am a mint fanatic, and absolutely adore that component in things. I find so little of it here, that I would just as soon pretend it wasn't intended. The rest that remains are the floral notes, which can be found kicking rocks as they slowly march onto the scene; shoulders rolled forward - unassertive. Yep, that's about it. A 'yellow' scent, that can easily be used at work if you're looking to get sent home early; in the bedroom, if it's time your partner gets the headache; or at a clinic, in the form of an allergy panel test.

A fresh perfume with evident rose and pepper as main players, the other florals and the base interpreting an aside, secondary role. It has that unisex feel to it, like in the classic CK One, but also the transparency and delicacy to be found in Rochas' Fleurs d'Eau. I used it this winter guess where at the hospital for some days and it did a good job, without getting too warm or disturbung. Now there are 20 degr C and I feel it can be very invigorating especially if worn during summer. By the way, it does get into an exquisite warmer rose if you shower with an amber based gel and apply it afterwards. Lovers of rose and pepper, take the plunge.

Dalimix Gold is sharply green and aromatic in its opening, with notes of galbanum, mint and cassis, soon drying down to a wonderfully strong, powdery note of orris, accented with patchouli and musk. The floral notes are relatively diffuse and demure, but do add some sweet florality to the formula. ...and of course, that frosted, globose bottle with its cap of gilded lips makes an intriguingly provocative objet d'art.

Summery green/fresh/aromatic perfume, light, airy and most pleasant. When is very hot and you want to smell fresh and nice this perfume will do its job. Medium longevity but due to its economic price you can spray as much as you want. My first Dali perfume and I like it a lot.

the opening is a blast of strong, bitter oakmoss. As it dries down there is a white musk and some LOTV. It gets a tad sweeter but keeps that dry, fizzy aspect. I would classify this as a floral chypre.

This one has nothing in common with original Dalimix. Rose + fallen poplar leaves (fall note). Color: Indian red.
