La Belle et l'Ocelot Eau de Toilette

This is, well, quite lovely really. I didn't like it on first spray. Ambitiously opening the encasing box, eagerness ripe with frustrations of the cold world it emerged from, and then....not much of anything really. And for a while, I felt as deflated as a kid ripping open their Christmas present, only to find socks. I have learned, however, that perfume straight out of a delivered box can be astonishing lackluster, and muddled through the agitation of transport. It seems very similar to wine in that way. So after a couple of days, and warmer than usual weather, this big cat showed up with some new bright flare. Top notes of grapefruit and rose start effervescently, and then mature in depth with wear. There's such a comfortable softness and warmth around each chord, and the perfume achieves balance through a gentle addition of musk and cedar. This is the perfume you wear to clear your aura Monday morning, as you make ready to embrace a challenge. This smells like the love child of Vince Camuto's Fiori and Stella EDT. A straight forward, approachable scent from this house, and frankly in the nick of time. After Dalimix Gold and Daliflor's cringe worthy performances, despite both of their lovely, and tragically late, dry down offerings. This offering seems slightly more restrained and mainstream, but in all the best ways.

I looked forward to trying this fragrance for about a year before I finally had the opportunity to do so. I'd sampled the original EDP version and was disappointed to find that scent distinctly unsuited to my tastes, after I'd already fallen in love with the bottle. I thought this EDT sounded different enough in character from the original EDP to be a safe blind buy (since I really did need to own that gorgeous bottle!), and happily, I wasn't wrong. This is a completely different kind of scent and I'm finding this one to be really nice- definitely my favorite among several others I've tried from Salvador Dali and one that's very wearable, soft, feminine, and pretty, so I don't at all regret the blind buy. If I'm being honest, however, I should admit that I probably won't repurchase this now that I have the bottle that drew me in; I like the scent but sadly don't seem to experience most of the notes it's supposed to have. I didn't really get anything but roses from it the first time I smelled it- no fruits, no cedar, no musk, no jasmine, nothing but soft, sweet, powdery roses. Now that I'm a little more familiar with it, I get the grapefruit note as well, which I didn't expect to like but which doesn't bother me here, because the rose still definitely dominates this for me- roses and more roses! I wish I could get a little more from it, but it really is a *nice* rose, a sweet one that doesn't turn soapy-smelling on my skin like other rose based fragrances I've tried, and the scent does go beautifully with the visual presentation of the pale pink liquid behind frosted glass- it smells exactly like it *looks* like it should. It will make a nice alternate to my signature, and I'm happy to have finally acquired it.

This is a nice little perfume, and entirely different from the EDP version, which is a classic chypre. This one is a light, fresh, fruity floral that smells primarily of roses, iris, and grapefruit. I blind bought it for the beautiful bottle and was happy with my purchase, although I didn't really find the scent interesting enough to purchase a second time. It's mainly a rose scent for me, and therefore very similar to more perfumes than I can count, but it's a good "any occasion" kind of scent, and more importantly, the rose doesn't turn soapy-smelling on my skin like many seem to do. It doesn't really say "ocelot" to me, though- nor any kind of cat, really. I don't get any animalic qualities at all; no musk, though it's supposed to be there. I wouldn't have recommended grapefruit as a prominent note in a fragrance to represent a cat, since most cats tend to be repelled by most citrus odors, but I suppose cats aren't the target market, after all. I can usually do without citrus notes in my perfumes, too, but don't mind it too much here. I don't find this fragrance as sweet as some other reviewers do. The powdery iris seems to be the balancing note that reins in the tartness of the grapefruit and balances it with the mildly sweet rose. The bottle is a work of art that I'm happy to own, and it's nice that the juice inside made a wearable bonus.

15. March 2016 Thank You for adding this, it has been sold at where i live for a few weeks now and i have managed to try it several times already. This EDT has nothing to do with the namesake EDP, which is a nice autumn-winter fragrance (a dupe for Coco by Chanel), this EDT is a very nice and safe floral-musky spring-summer scent. It is very well composed and i do like its incomplexity, but multifunctionality. It can be used as an offuce scent, as an everyday scent, as a summer party scent (usable during autumn as well). I smell a nice combo of jasmine, very realistic apple blossom and delicate rose. Later it becomes a light and nice musky-jasmine-woody scent. As i already mentioned - safe and crowd pleaser. Lasting power is up to 6 hrs and very detectable sillage. Oh, did i mention a nice bottle? :)

since I've never encountered the edp, this is an honest review without sadness about it being nothing like the edp. The edt is a lovely, kind scent. Flowery,fruity sweet (but not in an annoying way). This makes it sound like any generic perfume that is launched on the market today, but this one is more grown-up. Girly, but adult. Sweet but not sickly. It makes me want to wear a pretty dress and dance. Maybe the eau de perfume is the beast (ocelot), and this eau de toilette is "la belle"? And of course, the bottle is gorgeous. But then, I love anything cat-like.

Very delicate scent for the ocelot name! I really like it, but after few minutes, I can barely smell it. I've expected something wilder, to be honest. However, I must admit that the bottle is absolutely chic and beautiful.

The similarity at the opening and the middle between this and Kenzo World Fantasy EDT is uncanny. It is an overly sweet flowery perfume, which I’m not a big fan of. They both have gorgeous looking bottles. But I don’t need to own both of them. So this one has to go.

I don't get it. This is just a very synthetic pear note mixed with jasmine. It aims at spring fragrances, but is not nice in my opinion. Quite ordinary as well, just like any other fragrance on the market. Bottle is cool, just like EDP's, but given the good quality of EDP version I expected a great scent, which this one is not. It's just too ordinary.

It resembles Chloe EdP - the same new carpet odor mixed up with rose without any acidity like cough syrup.

An under $20 buy Tester 3.4oz reviwed Bright, fresh and feminine. Opens a little tarty the the turkish rose closely follows. Cedar base supports the rose. A jasmine musk pulls it together. I like it. It vibes in the vein of Roja Elixr. Its simpler and less aromachemicals which I can tolerate much better. If a grown up simple floral woody musk is in your buy list, check it out. Simple , feminine and pretty.
