La Belle et l'Ocelot

I’m going to try to leave a short review as I don’t have much time. This fragrance is beautiful! This is probably the most stunning bottle I have in my collection, besides my antique perfume bottles (my small antique bottle collection includes two stunning malachite glass Kurt Schlevoght bottles, so that’s really tough competition). The comparisons to coco mademoiselle and coco noir are true, but not for the top. The top bears similarities to Mauboussin Histoire d’Eau. They share a similar syrupy boozy mandarin orange note. It’s very sticky note (no pun intended), like dried up orange juice or actually in this case dried up orange liquor. It’s sweet, but not like hard candy as it’s more boozy than that. The top is not as spicy as Histoire though, although it is spicy. It’s bit more sweet and fruity in the top, which reminds me of Fruit de La creativité by Grès and there’s a freshness that’s reminiscent of Maja. The top really smells exactly as if someone layered Histoire d’Eau with Fruit de La Creativité and Maja. I imagine that would smell pretty much exactly the same. In the heart the similarities to both Chanel fragrances become apparent. It’s also very similar to Madame Grès, but the top is very different. I prefer the top notes, as I feel the heart is a bit more sweet and feminine than my general preference. It is very classy and beautiful though. The perfect fragrance to feel beautiful and elegant. Inoffensive enough for the office. I do really enjoy this. It’s described as a chypre, but imo only the top displays chypre qualities. The heart and base lean much more towards floral fruitchoulies. I really wish the top notes would last longer to have that somewhat masculine, oriental chypre vibe Larry all the way to the dry down. The heart and base could just use a tad more spiciness. Silage and longevity aren’t amazing on me, but maybe the performance will improve in warmer weather, so I’ll update if I find that to be true later. Update: upon reapplication the top is quite different and more similar to Mauboussin Elixir pour Elle. Probably because the heart and base notes mix more with the top this way. What an interesting and versatile fragrance!

Well hello Lover! This perfume, (thank you tireless Fragrantica reviewers) has come into my possession - and delightfully summons an ovation in my heart: Spectacular! One of my first 'Wow' moments in perfumery, was attending supper in a posh enough establishment, that there was perfume in the public bathroom. This amazed me; such a creature as I, living for a moment above my means. There was an assortment sparkling, clad on mirror and crystal, but only one called to me. It was a tall, rectangular bottle housing Chanel Coco EDT. I remember thinking that only something exception would choose to remain so plain, and I was right. Elegance misted over me and sunk into my heart. A few years ago, I had a house fire, and lost almost everything - including my precious collection of perfume. It has taken a lot of hard work, but I'm rebuilding. I jumped on a sale and bought Coco EDP. Although divine in its own right, is different enough to leave me feeling a little deflated, both in bank and in ego. Concurrently promoting a Salvador Dali obsession, I purchased La Belle EDP. It is so close to the nature of Coco EDT, you'd think them clones. La Belle is a bit sharper herbaceously, and the notes of benzoin slightly more pronounced, but still, wonder and refinement all the way through the dry down. Mandarin sweetens in just the proper portions, added gently with Osmanthus, whose scent smells ancient and magical - smoothly lactonic with a subtle honeyed-fruit underbelly. Artemisia's bitter chords holding toes with baratone bravados of jasmine and rose. Tonka and incense create this depth to it all, with shiny reflections of benzoin and patchouli - as if one were staring into a well, and barely catching refracted light on the surface below. It is bewitching, summoning ancient pleasures, and lucky are we to hold such power!

I’ve been wearing this perfume today and I came to the conclusion that something quite silly really bothers me. The fact that it smells entirely different than what the bottle suggests (at least what I think it suggests). I pick my perfume of the day based on my mood and what I’m wearing, and this bottle always attracts me when I feel like I want to smell like.. well.. a wild cat.. Ocelots live in tropical rain forests and prairie like environments, so with the shape of the bottle and the colour of the fluid, my brain just tells me that *that* is what this fragrance will smell like, even though I consciously know It’s a very rose heavy, perfume-y and sophisticated scent. Don’t get me wrong it’s a lovely scent. I adore the opening, I just wish they put this in a different bottle, and used this bottle for a fragrance that smelled more wild and natural. I don’t understand the choice, it makes zero sense. A bottle in the shape of a wild cat makes you long to smell like jungle or prairie. It could’ve been carnal, or mossy.. orchid heavy could work well or jasmine.. animalic musk or civet.. woody.. spicy.. herbal.. so many options.. just anything but rose.. I don’t know if this is something that would bother anyone else. It’s obviously a bit of a non-issue as in the end the fragrance matters, but I tend to reach for this when I want to feel wild, exotic and sensual and end up smelling sophisticated and pretty instead, whilst on days I do want to smell pretty and classy, I reach for other fragrances, because my subconscious tells me this is a fragrance for tiger days. Anyway I hope this is useful for someone somewhere

Hey-ho! I've been waiting for the whole YEAR to get hold of this beauty from ebay and to wear it! As a huge fan of Salvador Dali's surrealism and been in love with his black and white photo, where he is portrayed together with his dwarf leopard (ocelot) Babou, I wanted THAT BOTTLE, as many others and I Am very pleasantly surprised by richness, intensity and glamour of the scent. Will describe the bottle at first. Mine is 100 ml one - from frosted glass, like from the fog, emerging the figure of the ocelot. The juice is golden, so the ocelot. The lid is made looking like a hat. I suppose it meant to show us that in every woman there is a wild cat hidden somewhere) The fragrance starts as a heady and intoxicating one - it is an Eastern sweet floral, smells like honeyed peachy osmanthus from the start, also you can smell soft rose petals with herbal touch of artemisia. The heart is definitely patchouli, very tasteful mix with incense and tonka, the base is benzoin and jasmine. Very feminine juice, triumphant. I would say its perfectly made and suits to the bottle very much. To me its somewhat similar by vibe with Coco Chanel, Organza Indecence Givenchy, I agree with passionata here regarding Dolce Vita as well, reminds all great feminine classics, yet its different from them of course. Love from me. Right type of fragrance to wear in golden sunny autumn days.

Oh my, how deliciously decadent this fragrance is! I found it reasonably cheap on an online store and I am very glad I bought it as it exceeds my expectations abundantly. It is identified as a floral chypre, but l'Ocelot is so much more than that. The amber drips itself over the entire pyramid like a chocolate fountain and sets l'Ocelot apart from all other chypres; especially those of the earlier 20th century like Mitsouko. In many ways this perfume is classic, but still very modern in that it so closely resembles current popular high end fragrances like La Nuit Tresor by Lancome or even Si by Armani; though I could not tell you if it does indeed mimic Coco by Coco Chanel as it is not a fragrance I am familiar with, but I can assure that the quality is there. A big thumbs up from me, or at least I would but up my thumbs if I weren't so busy sniffing my wrists.

Whoever said that they can really only see this on women over 55... Why? This amber is gorgeous for any age that can appreciate beauty. Definitely one that has garnered compliments for me from all ages. This warms beautifully on skin and radiates blissful ambery heat that wafts around you like a glowing aura. I certainly won’t be depriving myself by such narrow and misguided standards and truthfully bought 3 bottles... What other perfumes are like this? I can’t think of any that are such a warm, sensuous, enveloping amber with rose but also an uplifting and bright element ...Obsessed. I keep this at my bedside table and will open the cap to microdose a whiff from time to time. Definitely has a very similar feel to Coco by Chanel (EDT) which is another one that is absolutely addictive for me.

Spectacular! The fragrance itself begins with a burst of ripe peach, followed by a gradual emergence of supporting notes, the most prominent of which are benzoin and patchouli, with a tinge of musk and powder as well. a fresh spin on strong, powerful scents. Richness, intensity, and glitter of the perfume completely shocked me. incredibly feminine juice, victorious. It is really well crafted, in my opinion, and fits the bottle properly. It recalls me of all the great feminine classics, but it's obviously different from them. To me, it has a mood that is somewhat reminiscent of Coco Chanel, Organza Incense Givenchy, and Dolce Vita. I also agree with impassioned here regarding Dolce Vita. Exceptional performance!

I really like this one Its a soft modern oriental. Hear me out. It has a fresh green-citrus mandarin opening, opening up into a peachy rose jasmine heart. Inscense adds exoticness and the tonka, patch and myrrh add the modern base. If you take out the spiciness of the modern formulation of COCO, and Route Mandarine..this is the genre of the scent. Id buy this over the modern version of COCO since I love the peach, rose, jasmine aspect of it. Yes it can have a vintage ish feel but perfect for fall and for those that loved the older style frags. A love from me. Update: try Coco body lotion of creme under it...magic.

I bought this because it was mentioned as an inexpensive alternative to Coco Chanel, and it is! I've loved Coco for a long time but find it a little formal for some occasions. I can't really describe why, but somehow LBelO is a little more casual and I would feel more comfortable wearing it as a daytime scent. I think the top note is slightly different than Coco, not as sharp and sweet, but the two scents start to merge as you get to the heart and base. I find the sillage and longevity good, about the same as Coco. I think the theme and the bottle are cute too!

This is such an elegant and exquisite fragrance! It opens up pretty strong, but once it settles down- it's just beautiful oriental scent. Perfect for cold weather. I also have Chanel Coco Noir so I sprayed it on my other hand and tried to compare, and I do believe they are quite similar even though La Belle et l'Ocelot is definitely a stronger one. And do I even need to talk about the bottle? Beautiful design, quite heavy glass with frosted details on the sides. Very pretty inside and out.

La belle et L'ocelot is gorgeous. Fruity (dried fruits), sweet, rich and aromatic. Artemesia smells a little sour, and a little licoricey, adding both warmth and coolness. I think that's what others are describing when they say it's light and airy despite the other BIG and rich notes. Absolutely smells vintage, the comparison from another reviewer to Dali's own Roy Soleil is spot-on. Sisters not twins, though. If you like 90s peachy-amber-florals, you'll probably like this, too.

This is very beautiful, it is a very fresh and sophisticated 'floriential'. The osmanthus and mandarin orange are blended excellently, and the benzoin and patchouli provide a solid foundation for them to bloom.It gives you the impression of a pampered, luxurious wildcat that spends its days prowling around in a garden. This is very wearable for day and night in the autumn/winter, and I think would wear fantastically in the night during the summer.

WOW!!! I wonder why this one isn't more widely known and loved - it has all the necessary elements. Exquisite bottle, gorgeous perfume, and it's VERY reasonably priced!! The negative reviews on here are puzzling - maybe they didn't have the edp strength. If you love the notes and wear bold perfumes, then try this one.

Strongly reminding me of Ungaro Desnuda today.

I reviewed this perfume at the end of December and wasn't particularly flattering about it. I am giving it another chance this evening. It's still cold in SE Essex; in fact, we had snow and hail here today. I would say that's strange for (nearly) May, but this is the UK and the reason Brits are renowned for being obsessed with and talking about the weather all the time is because we get an awful LOT of it. It's changeable, unpredictable and our weather forecasters often get it completely wrong. The area I live is on the coast and has the lowest rainfall in the whole country; immediately to the west and north the land is a little higher and - despite rain being forecast, the clouds usually dump their load before reaching us, so the rain often doesn't get here. Sorry for mithering, but I wanted to explain that it's no warmer or drier than it was in December (when I last reviewed it) so the difference in La Belle et L'Ocelot's performance can't be weather related. Although sillage is still soft/moderate, I CAN actually smell something rather lovely this evening. Predominant notes - to me - are artemisia, incense, rose, jasmine and a dry almost-vanilla (presumably from the benzoin) with hay. I am not getting much patchouli, BUT I have been wearing Christian LaCroix C'est la Fete Patchouli today, so my nose may be all patchouli-ed out for the day. I am definitely reminded of something, but I can't work out what it is. I'll update if it comes back. What a pleasant surprise this has been. Now I can take this out of my swap box.

25. September 2015 This mystery fragranc has finally arrived to my country!!! And i like it very much! It has indeed that early 90's heady floral touch and strongly reminds me of something else very familiar and classy!! I smell sweet patchouli-orange-benzoin-osmanthus mix. It has bit of Dolce Vita, something of Feminite de bois, bit of Coco by Chanel, bit of everything. It transferres me instantly to the teenage years and makes me feel comfortable. I agree this is an autumn winter scent and they did right thing not releasing it earlier here in Europe. This pachouli rose combo wouldn't be as appealing in the springtime or summer as it is now. Im definitely getting a bottle!!! However the sillage is not the best one i ́ve been expecting but lasts on my skin up to 5hrs. 50Ml around 50 euros, 30ml around 40euros.

At first this smells more manly, like shaving cream. And then it starts to develops into an interesting sexy skin scent. I haven’t spent time with Chanel Coco, but I do love Coco Noir. There is something similar here in Dali’s Belle Ocelot but it doesn’t have the posh Chanel dna. It’s still smells very classy, but has more green notes of a Chypre, almost like Paloma Picasso. There is a note that is almost minty here and the florals make it very lovely too. And the bottle is super! My husband’s initial impression was that it smelled more like a men’s cologne, maybe he will enjoy wearing it too. I think it needs time to develop for the florals to come out. I’m very happy with this blind buy and look forward to getting to know this perfume better.

well, this is a lot better than the review scores would suggest!!! I fancied it for the bottle but was trying not to make any blind buys this year. Eventually, it came to me as it was gifted by a dear friend. The frag itself starts off with a blast of juicy peach and support notes slowly show themselves, of which benzoin and patchouli would stand out most. While aldehyde isn't listed, I get a little bit of that and as though there was a hint of musk and powder too. I like it coz finally something that is not toothachingly sweet, just the right amount of sweetness to make it work. A modern take on big and bold frags.

First I bought its edt sister, which is pretty and sweet. This edp is warm and deep without being heavy. Wearing it, it doesn't play in the spotlight, I don't consiously notice it, but it makes me feel good. On my skin the balsamic spicy side comes wayyy before any flower. I can't pick any flower out of the chorus. But the benzoin, complemented with the patchouli and the incense are clearly there. Love it. Deep, comforting without being loud. Mmmmh.

I am so disappointed. I bought this based on the reviews and listed notes, knowing - without a shadow of a doubt - that I would love it. It's OK. But that is it. It's just OK. I am not sure when this was produced, but the perfume in the bottle has zero longevity and sillage. I can't be anosmic to it, I must have bought from a bad batch. It is so weak there is no point trying to analyse the notes - I can't; that is truly how bad it is. Sad sad sad.

It smells very vintage. I am wearing it today. I am 51 and it is not even my generation. It is one or two generations before me. However, something in it shows it is instead imitation of vintage. One can wear it for the vintage vibe. Why this and not a genuine vintage? Because it is lighter, with a slightly modern twist, low cost and in the fantastic bottle.

I am super impressed with how it smells in the intense summer heat of the afternoon! I originally bought this because I liked the bottle so much and wasn't even a fan of the actual perfume. I don't know if it's the temperature or it had time to age and lose the awful chemical blast it had at first, but either way I really like it now and am glad I have it!

My first thought was that it's really suitable for autumn. It's strong floral scent with lots of great sweet notes like tonka bean, patchouli and benzoin. A modern classic type of scent in my opinion. A good warm and strong perfume full of elegance and sophistication. I find it very nice!

Lovely, if not hugely original. Very similar to Coco Mademoiselle but lacks that little something that makes Coco Mademoiselle a stand out. Still, Ocelot is a beautiful, elegant fragrance. Absolutely gorgeous presentation/bottle, you must see it in person.

I like it but it's not as good as Chanel Coco but a little peach note, not fruity but a dry, sharp, aldehydic floral; benzoin, rose and sharp florals that are dry. Very vintage and lovely.

To my nose it is very similar to gucci by gucci edp, longlasting but not as strong, a bit too much patchouli for my taste, a strong like from me.

Bought it because of the good reviews and the nice looking bottle. Vintage smelling perfume, extremely heavy sillage, very spicy/incensy. A perfume someone older then me would wear.(I'm 30) I picture a classy lady above 55 wearing this.

I really wanted to love this perfume wholeheartedly, because I was in love with the bottle right away. The scent, however, is just not really right for me. It reminds me of Coco by Chanel (a definite "dislike", although this is not as bad as that one!) and strikes me as a fragrance an older & much more class-conscious lady might wear. It's very heavy and spicy, making me think of it as more appropriate for an incense than a perfume to wear on my skin, for which I generally like a sweeter, fresher scent. I can detect a faint hint of floral sweetness, but it's definitely overwhelmed by the resin and spice notes. In my mind, this fragrance captures the majesty and power of a wild cat, but not enough of the beauty and sensuality. UPDATE: Now that an Eau de Toilette version has been announced, I can't wait to try that, as it sounds like it could be much more to my liking!

Oh, how I wanted to love this, but it ended up being the perfume that taught me to always test a new fragrance on paper first before spraying it on my skin, because it's always the ones you dislike the most that will be the hardest ones to scrub off. I think it's the characteristic chypre base that I mainly object to in this; I suspect I'm just not a fan of the genre since I have yet to meet one I like, but I'm still willing to keep trying for a while. If you do like that sort of thing, this is probably a beautiful specimen. I do agree with the many comparisons to Coco Chanel- it smells almost exactly like that to me. Now, the -bottle- is one of the most beautiful I've seen in perfumery, and luckily, it was also available with the purchase of the EDT version of La Belle et L'Ocelot, which is a completely different kind of scent that's much more palatable to me.

this perfume with its remarkable flacon I had in 2014 and I remember it being one of my most favorite perfumes. whereas however I presupposed it given away (with 350+ perfumes I have at least given away as much perfumes to my Female Colleagues) yet a voice in my head kept flustering that it was still there. and it was ... to my utter delight I could still wear and test this heavenly perfume. I also have read quite some (raving) reviews beneath with which I all can concur. the perfume to me bears more resemblance with Chanel No5 yet similarities with Chanel Coco are also unmistakable. people often confuse the things they compare with each other doesn't mean to say they are exactly alike. they simply have a likewise same kind of athmosphere. so the votes for what persons post as to how they find this perfume comparable with are often downplayed by much more votes against. I find that childish behavior. yet now to the perfume. this perfume is so thoroughly beautiful and it has a fenomenal opening. I guess the 'Artemisia Extract' (the notes are better explicated in the added description) is not something I would usually pick up with my not so good nose, but it can be that a slight bitter addendum gives the Fruity Opening of ['Sicilian Bitter Orange' in the added description and above it 'Mandarin Orange'] a more piqued presence. I must say I smell a Fruitiness while that is a rare occasion. I almost never smell Citruses in perfume. then the heart, yes the Heart speaks to me with the Roses (foremost to my Rose-loving nose) and her Classic Sister Jasmine. the Osmanthus is also clearly distinguishable with a soft Apricot nuance. the Note described in the more explicative added specifications describe the effect of Tonka Beans in this perfume better: "Pleasant and soft aromas resembling the softness of Suede originate from Tonka". with the Osmanthus and Tonka the perfume gets a characteristic softness. which endures during the drydown. Benzoin ('Drops'), (Oriental) Incense and Patchouli give the perfume Heft and her Comparability with Chanel Coco. yet on its own this already is a Fabulous perfume, not unlike the Dali Parfum de Toilette (1985) (I do not say they are scientifically identical) but that iconic perfume of course, was fully in line with the notorious 1980s perfumes. the flacon with the Voluptuous Dali Art Lips Legendary in its own right. I must say that the flacon of this perfume is a worthy heritage from that arty nascent. again I can not emphasize enough that this is a truly Opulent and Sophisticated, Flowery and Elegant perfume. what I did noticed is that its Sillage is not its most important strength. but who cares. my bottle has still 80 %.

What fantastic perfume this is ! First the whole idea of name, packageing, flacon, the black ocelot. It is all in your face and smashing and still has a sophisticated concept. Then the perfume. It is nothing but reveling in the cloud that sits around you (not the longest ever) when first sprayed. What I smell first is roses and vanilla. That is also what I smell consistently in my shawl and collar etc. The vanilla must come from the tonkabeans. In my nose the rose is center but I understand that others might smell jasmine and osmanthus more. These I smell too, the freshness suddenly occuring when the vanilic-rose haze has somehow wafted off a bit. Osmanthus of course has slightly reminiscences with tea, peach, a garden after a tropical deluge. The flowers give way to each other in recurrent waves. Then in the dry-down sandelwood, incense, tonka beans and benzoin give an extra jolt of orientalism. The whole perfume is just sheer pleasure. It is an unapologetic feminine fragrance poured in the most eye caressing fiol with its matte and transparent glass. Tipping this text brings the osmanthus above strong. It is like ylang-ylang a yellow white flower with indolic force and inimitable freshness. Freshness becomes supported by the orange; the indolic white floweriness is reinforced by night-blooming jasmine and the ever present regality of the rose. Somehow the perfume gives me the impression of Cartier and there are similarities with Dusitas 'La Douceur de Siam'. MEMO's 'Inlé' comes to mind also. Fabuleuse !

Such an interesting one... I can't think of any other perfume that I've owned that i had such a hard time categorizing... Either way... This was a blind buy: I was mesmerized by the bottle (still AM), trusted someone who said in their review that it was somewhat similar to Shalimar but without citrus (not to my nose), found a good deal and so it goes:) First of all, if you like oriental spicy perfumes, if you think that if this one has an Ocelot on the bottle it will remind you of Kenzo Jungle, this one is not for you. I don't know why it says warm spicey and balsamic because it is floral and chypre in the first place.Which theoretically totally makes it NOT my cup of tea. Yet there are some notes in it that speak to me and even make me like them:) BUT only when i spritz it on fabric (which is a massacre of a perfume, i know). Yet this is the only way in which i can enjoy the scent because silage of it on my skin is pretty much non-existent. Despite the fact that this must sound like a totally negative review, as I said, there is something alluring in it which brings me back to it and makes me want to understand it:) Btw, hubby loved it the first time I wore it whereas most of my FAAAAAVORITE scents often go unnoticed:)

Beauty & The Beast This is a fragrance for both Beauty and the Beast. This is so beautiful and really at it's peak in fall and winter. I love the bottle although it's slightly reminiscent of Cartier's La Panthere. This scent just makes me think of Belle as she goes into the forest and comes across the Beast's castle where she will live until she consents to marry him. The scent is mostly a green patchouli and incense. Dark, mysterious, smoky, woodsy. This is the true spirit of the perfume. But it doesn't start off that way. It starts with citrus fresh and feminine sweet. The rose and jasmine combination is classy and elegant but I feel it's the osmanthus that takes over. Incense and benzoin combination gives it a lot of smoke. Absolutely beautiful. Smells sweet and musky, masculine and feminine, a fragrance of many dimensions. And it does smell so good. It works with my skin chemistry but what doesn't. I love this perfume and even though I have someone asking me to sell it to them, never. This is my Beast.

La Belle Et L'Ocelot Is a gorgeous Oriental fragrance. First of all I'm a sucker for an interesting and creative looking bottle. This has an ocelot design similar to La Panthere (The Panther) from Cartier. I thought it would smell of animalic scents and musk. But it doesn't. This is a floral patchouli. An osmanthus, green, floral, aromatic, is there from the beginning and gradually deepens into a note of jasmine and incense. It reminds me of Oriental fragrances like Shalimar but this has less citrus. The osmanthus is the biggest note so you have to enjoy that osmanthus scent. Elegant, simple, subtle, and unisex. I think of this fragrance as being very intellectual. The Salvador Dali fragrances always wear like you have to be an artist yourself to wear their perfumes. This scent matches up with theatrical costumes for the stage. It makes me think of an artist studio with an adjacent botanical greenhouse. Easy to wear, not heavy, and good for all year round. I wear this to my yoga studio. Everyone loves it.

this was a blind buy (it was on sale! :) and quite frankly, i would have been happy just for the gorgeous bottle but to my delight the juice is really nice too! if im being completely honest, its not the type i would usually gravitate towards, but I guess that's the exciting part of buying blind - expanding your horizons :) On me, patchouli and incense is most prominent, with light caramelly, licorice-y sweetness. There's also a myserious cool water tone to it that i cant quite put my finger on, not aqua notes but real tap water, or maybe sand?? does this make sense?? i think that's why i don't mind wearing this now, smack dab in the middle of a terribly humid summer (though it might offend others as its not "polite" per se) - it sort of reminds me of my trip to Egypt! overall, i find this very elegant but also quite quirky, reminiscent of classic perfumery at first whiff, but more fun and charmingly modern. I Cant wait till i try this when the weather cools down a bit!

There it was, on a lower shelf - literally - collecting dust. I found La Belle et l'Ocelot on our boat trip to Denmark, yesterday. I was surprised to find it neglected this way, but I was also superexcited to see it. It was difficult to judge, surrounded by a dozen other scents floating in the air, but it was attractive enough to buy it. I am glad that I did, because it is much prettier judged on its own! I perceive it more as a fruity oriental than as a floral chypre. But it is a very soft oriental, with a modest sillage. Sprayed in the afternoon, I could still smell it the next morning. Thumps up for longevity, I'd say. Depending on one's taste, it could easily be a days perfume, but for now I prefer to keep it for eveningwear. Maybe I will change that preference in the colder season. Edit: I've worn it a couple of days in a row now and I am really happy I have found it! I am certainly going to enjoy this a lot, especially in autumn or winter.

Absolutely wonderful! It brings to mind a discontinued fragrance I love, Mirage from Oriflame, which was such a pleasant surprise. Mirage is often compared to Coco, and I blind bought La Belle et l'Ocelot knowing it is similar to Coco, but didn't expect to bring this lovely discontinued gem back to life as well. The presentation is also beautiful, the bottle is just stunning. I blind bought two bottles, and I'm very happy I did, this is amazing value for the price. Despite its classical, elegant structure and great blending, it is not overpowering at all, you can spray away without worrying even if you are concerned with others who have a penchant for rude remarks. This has been a long year with many fragrance discoveries, but I think this is the find of the year for me!

Fruity at first, an hour long, and loud, citrus and plummy osmanthus sharpened with witchy rose thorns. Slowly softens with jasmine and some smoky-sweet amber into personal space–up close it’s bright on cotton cuffs and syrupy on the skin–and lasts all day, fading to a dab of luxe benzoin on the wrist. This could almost be a Chanel, rich incense resins and balsamic roses (though oddly no civet) if the wormwood at the top didn’t turn it weird. I don’t love it–I’d prefer more purring and fewer claws–but there’s something intriguing about it, opulent yet off-kilter, and the bottle is an objet d’art. Salvador Dali’s pet ocelot was named Babou. He never seemed happy in photos, aside from the one where he is biting the artist’s nose.

This is available in middle east where I live & don't get too exited if your taste in fragrances is like mine ( you can take a look at my display cabine for fragrances in my profile to see what my taste look like if you want ) This fragrance reminds me of old fragrances like rumba & creation, all I smell is a strong mix of flowers & insence along with so much spices, so off putting for a person who prefer light scents like I do but if you adore old style classics this is definitely a must try & get as the bottle is so sleek & beautiful in real life.

There is absolutely no similarity to coco eau de parfum whatsoever! I purchased this as a complememtary perfime to my coco bit it smells completely differemt However, the smell is pleasant, inoffensive, expensive and classic elegant. Not for everyone, dedinitely not for those who enjoy fruity sweet designer perfumes. EDIT: the very opening smells like COCO but it changes within a minute to something which reminds me of some older perfume I know from my childhood I think i love it

Mmmm....I can see the similarities that are being made with Coco parfum...this is a wonderful patchouli/benzoin/tonka/incense heavy delight but made fresher with the osmanthus and orange. It goes through a slight period of dry masculinity but softens fairly quickly into something smooth and smoky and warm. Lasts several hours and the bottle is gorgeous. Definitely a keeper. A little goes a long way, as well---but even though it's a summer day I don't find this cloying at all.

A lush classy osmanthus paired with rose and old-school resins and spices, released in 2014, because why not? There's always the need for a neo vintage. I gifted one to my mother a couple of years ago and every time I visit her, it's changed a bit, getting more and more "classical" every time. Then I realize - accords like this are supposed to get better within longer periods of time because why not? What's the rush? Fashion used to be slower.

Very beautiful bottle but the fragrance inseide is really nothing special in my opinion just another floral patchouli, however, it's not as agressively masculin as most of its kind on my skin. It has a chypre character but it just isn't enough spicy, balsamic or incencey ar anything standing out to give it a real character. Of course, it's a nice scent, more than that, it's very beautiful just not outstanding enough, I guess.

I never owned any of SD's fragrances. For me it's important that the eyes get pleased first with what they see... ''what you see is what you get, right?!'' When my eyes like the packaging, my nose would love to smell what's inside!! I found all previous SD's bottles to be extremely tacky... but this one?!! This looks pretty cool! My nose definitely wants to smell what's captured inside this Leopard!

This fragrance, remaining me to my mother. She is a lady with a cat's.. And she were a Diva Ungaro..I always respect that beautiful chipre, but unfortunately fragrance is still too mature for me. Diva is wearing me.This fragrance remaining me to Diva,and it's much more easier to wear.I love it.. and a Bootle is so cute.. Performance is great.This is for the vintage lovers..

I have a soft spot for Salvador Dali Fragrances, after smelling the original Salvador Dali and another more recent release. What impresses me is that these particular releases managed to be so easily pleasing, all the while exhuding an aura simultaneously unique and excellent. As for this latest release - Lovely bottle... Hope what's inside has the same quality!

In Melbourne you can find this fragrance already at paint and powder in Royal Arcade. I haven't sniffed this one yet but if I have the chance to go there I will try. The price is really inflated there though (overpriced). However if you are willing to wait you can get this fragrance for a much much cheaper price when it becomes available online.
