Ma Reine

Awakening scent, invigorated by carrot-seeds-like Iris and sweetened by white flowers. Femininity with a stem. I’m going to by a whole bottle.

Medium intensity perfume. With a very hot duration about 8 h, at other times of the year 10 hours. It has a bergamite exit with spicy touches, when the citrus passes the time and we find the orange blossom of orange and iris, it has a certain touch, pleasant, floral, fresh and powdery. Vanilla gives flowers some sweetness but vanilla is not the most potent of perfume.

Reminds me of two fragrances on first spray. Chanel's Paris-Venise with the pepper notes, citrus and iris, and Alien Eau Extraordinaire, which also has pepper notes and citrus, and with a jasmine that smells exactly the same to me as that in Alien. This wears a little sweeter than both of those fragrances, but not by much. As it wears on it becomes so much like AE that I am hard pressed to tell the difference, though it is even much lighter than that. For that reason, I am somewhat disappointed. Especially at 3Xs the price of what I paid for AE (pre-covid pricing). I did get it on clearance at a department store for 1/2 what it is being sold for elsewhere, but even then, I think I paid too much. Though the packaging looks phenomenal, it is poorly made. The lid disassembled in my hand on first use and the gold paint around the sprayer came off along with it. You can't see it when the lid is on but that shouldn't have happened in the first place especially at the price I paid. Unfortunately, that is the pitfall of buying blind as there was no tester available to try the fragrance beforehand. Had I tried it, I wouldn't have bought it. Fortunately, this is returnable.

That bergamot and pink pepper opening dominates but then the jasmine comes through and supports. This is a straight up dupe for Mugler's Alien but a touch more sophisticated and much less screechy!!

This is citrus, orange blossom, and iris. It has some red pepper, and doses of pink pepper. It's quite greeny yet peppery with iris and citrus.
