What the h#@* has happened?? Why do all NEW Dalis smell like watered drinks?? They used to smell Divine and now they smell like vague memories.... This one is no exception. Oh well, i'll leave it in the primary school bathroom, little girls will love the bottle, they all like to spray on perfume and it will be gone in no time! Notes?? What notes??!?

The perfume starts sweet and settles into a rose and sandalwood scent on the skin. It's very feminine and gorgeous. Great date night scent.

My bottle finally arrived today! This review is based on my very first try of this scent. For your information, my bottle is estimated to be a 2005 batch based on its batchcode. The scent opens up with a sharp, tangy red currant and yuzu. The sour opening doesn't last that long though, a good news for someone who doesn't enjoy too much sour citruses like me. A rather clean patchouli shows up along with sandalwood till the end of its lifespan. I didn't get rose, unfortunately. Its main profile is clean, sharp, and a bit powdery. Being an edt, this scent is definitely not a performance monster. But it does have a decent staying power (6 hours plus) and a gentle, alluring presence. It never speaks too loud; it's soft-spoken but always there when you try to find it. This one is pretty different compared to something I'd wear on daily basis (I'm a sucker for sweet florals and currently in my early 20s) and it does smell old for young adults. Despite its oldish and dusty vibe, this one's still interesting for those times when I crave sophisticated mature scent. It's a like and I'm surely keeping it in my collection.

I have to admit to being surprised by Rubylips. I was anticipating loud/sharp citrus, but this is woody, creamy and soft. The red currant is very prominent in the opening, but it's tempered by sandalwood. It's juicy and fruity but not obnoxious. I smell rose, but I wouldn't call this a rose dominant perfume. On my skin, it's mostly sandalwood, honey and bright (but not sharp or acidic) fruits. I usually don't like fruits or citrus, so definitely a surprise. The patchouli is there, but definitely is on the fresher/cleaner side. I think the slightly musky floral scent I'm getting is the waterlily. I think this will make a good "everyday" fragrance for spring/summer. I tend to err toward heavier woody fragrances like Must, Dune, Belle d'Opium etc. Although it's not an occasion fragrance, to me it's special. It's a unique fragrance, well executed and definitely has a place in my wardrobe. It's one where I'm glad I got the 100 ml.

This one opens crisp and sharp, with a lot of currants and almost a little sting from the yuzu (like squeezing a lemon and having some of the juice fly into your eyes!). That tangy opening was a little bit disjointed, but it didn't last long. The middle notes in this one come out early and they stay until the end- it's roses made creamy through a touch of honey and sandalwood. The scent sticks close to your skin and has moderate longevity (I think the last notes drifted off my body after about four and a half hours). Nothing offensive, nothing special, I'm glad I have a mini rather than a full bottle. I would consider this a safe gift for someone who likes perfume but isn't passionate about scent.

This opens with the tart red currant and yuzu. Then, on me, it becomes all about the rose and fresh patchouli, bringing some creaminess in. I don't own a lot of rose-centric perfumes as they are not my favorites, but this is nice and well-balanced. After that, the honey finds its way in and this is where it shines, mixing with the sandalwood and creating a sweet base for the rose. Longevity is moderate. It's a skin scent on me and can see myself wearing it during the day in the spring and summer.

Ruby lips on my skin is all about the red currant, its really syntethic from the top notes to the hearth. The base notes are better, but the lemon tree ruins what could be good on this perfume. I dont like it a bit, smells really cheap. Update: After 5 months i retested this perfume and it was a good surprise. For some reason, it was more rosie lik, sweeter and fresh. A little bit dry and sharp but in a good way. I taught that I was ging to swap it but I will keep it and use it in the spring :)

Red currants + wild strawberries + honey + "dusty" and smokey patchouli. It is a little "shampoo-y" scent. Average, poor lasting power.

This perfume is a lot more refreshing than I expected. I can smell the pachouli note but it isn't very dominant. It's subtile! I like the slightly sour red currant and the sweet, fruity notes. I do think it's strange to put this perfume in a red bottle. It's not that deep and warm at all!

Rubylips is mainly a fruity floral on my skin, with a clean, bright patchouli acting as the backbone. The opening sees the red berries dominating over medicinal patchouli, which creates a spiced prune effect prone to many fruitchouli fragrances. Thankfully, since Rubylips doesn’t have notes to imitate caramel or chocolate, the texture is more dry than syrupy. As time progresses, the red berries are gradually replaced by fresh, slightly aquatic floral evoking waterlily and nebulously a pale rose. Rubylips is now an awashed musky floral gently spiced up by an equally desanitised patchouli. The fragrance does gain slightly more honeyed deep in the dry down, but the overall effect is still a squeaky clean, “shampoo”-like patchouli fruity floral quite ubiquitous nowadays. The sillage of Rubylips is relatively soft and it can hold up to 8 hours in general. In itself, Rubylips is not bad at all, and being released in 2004, it does precede many other trending fresh patchouli fruity floral. But at the same time, I don’t find it outstanding in this crowded genre, more like a standard affair. If you enjoy mainstream patchouli fruity floral and can find it at a reasonable price, Rubylips is actually a good deal. But otherwise you won’t miss out much either.

RubyLips is one of the first perfumes I received in a bottle swap a few years ago. Back then I didn't care for it much as it is a relatively straightforward scent. Today, I feel pretty much the same way, although I can tease out the notes and appreciate this a little better. A bright, sharp berry note to open which then softens and makes way for a gentle rose. Unfortunately I don't detect any delicious yuzu notes where I would expect them to be. Honey, patchouli and waterlily are present in delicate balance in the heart. Sandalwood gives RubyLips the warmth that the light fruit and soft floral notes settle tenderly into. Rather subtly delicious like a crisp, freshly picked red fuji apple. Albeit fresh and lovely, I don't think I'll get much wear out of this perfume as it doesn't have a whole lot of character, and is somewhat generic. However the avante-garde flacon makes this scent-piece hard to part with.

I thought this would be delicious red currant scent, but unfortunately it's far from delicious. It's quite bad, suffocating even. I think sandalwood is very dominant here. I seriously though it would be something, but unfortunately no. Too bad.

Fragrance Review For Ruby Lips Salvador Dali Top Notes Yuzu Apple Red Currant Middle Notes Rose Orchid Water Lily Base Notes Sandalwood Patchouli Lemon Tree Honey Well, this is one bottle you can't take with you! This is by far the heaviest bottle of perfume I've ever encountered in my life. When I'm done with it, I'm going to keep it as a Salvador Dali Objet D'Art. That's what they turn into these beautiful Dali perfumes: sculptures for your home! And if they ask who's it by just say Salvador Dali! LOL I love the lips of the bottle of the original Dali eau de parfum from the 80's and some of the flankers in sold silver or gold, not to mention the unusual shape of bottles for Dalimix & other frags in the line. You can never say that any of the Dali bottles are boring. Ruby Lips has that red color theme going on. Red Lips Red Lipstick, Red Currant (Red Grapes) Red Apple, Red Rose. Something about it is oddly & almost jokingly like red Cool Aid! The red currant is juicy like boozy red wine mixed with apple juice (the apple note). This is both alcoholic and sugary-juicy. The fruit notes dominate the fragrance, not the florals nor the patchouli, sandalwood or honey. This is a fragrance for summer, when the fruit comes out - of my perfume wardrobe. The fruit is delicious and evocative of red mini dresses with a full skirt, evocative of picnics at the park, a red apple on a teacher's desk, a delicious wine tasting party, and so forth. The fruit is also sweetened with yuzu. When you step back from inhaling the aroma up close it comes off as a sort of red berry. There could be a berry note or it's the effect of the fruited accords, which smell like berry when put together. After the red lips have eaten the red grapes, red apples & red berries, the floral notes come through. It's not terribly floral, and in fact the only flower I could detect was the red rose (again the red theme). In my experience there are no red water lilies or lotus. I've seen a few red orchids but this is mostly a red rose scent. It's also not a typical botanical green & red rose, like a garden rose, but a fruited rose, a fantasy note of juicy roses which have become chemically sweetened with the fruit notes that preceded the floral notes. A faint red orchid is right behind the red rose scent but it's not as romantic or sultry as I love my red roses. Still, at times it can get deep when it so happens that the base notes are getting stronger. Then it turns warm, hot even, with a warm honey. A lemon tree is also on here & that was quite a lovely note to have and very rare in perfume. On me it smells of warm lemon & honey tea. This gets warmer and more delicious like a tea or apple cider (that's been out in the sun). It has a youthful & saucy air, and the patchouli & sandalwood give it an Oriental flash (not flair) and can feel flirty & festive. I agree with the reviewer who said this smells Latin-blooded. It evokes a young woman between the ages of 18 and 23 who is tan or bronze skinned with a body to die for, even if she is petite, wearing a tight red mini dress with no shoulders, red heels & red handbag, red lipstick or even fake red hair. And where is this lady in red going? Club dancing in Manhattan the whole night long, maybe even going to pick up guys because guys do not pick her up. She chooses. A bold red fragrance for a bold but fun loving gal. This is a perfume I have recently discovered as I'm trying out some of the Dali perfumes which I'm late to. This is a youth-oriented Dali perfume. In the beginning the Dali perfumes (formulated by Dali the artist himself) were mature & Oriental, artsy & mind blowing in their vintage glamour but nowadays all the big brand names are making perfumes wearable for the Millennials (Yves Saint Laurent Parisienne Mon Paris, Dior Poison Girl) so one must conform at times because there are not too many choices for mature scents. This is not bad but I'm saving it for summer.

I acquired a miniature of deep red/orange juice, I know this as unfortunately 3ml of the tiny 5 ml flanker had spilled into its plastic surrounding container. I only got three uses but they were memorable! I describe this as the night time to the Dalissime which I put further up my arm today and the two transitioned together gorgeously! Both must be 2004 at the latest as the HotLips wasnt around until 2004. The red juice of HotLips is straight up warm, its spicy warm, incence and smokey, its red, mars red, everything says red and molten. Its sensual and definitely a night time fragrance. Amber and some amber powder I get, red berries but I'm not skilled enough to say which..maybe as simple as red currant? Yuzu I dont know what it smells like maybe that's it but it looks like a lemon, I'm getting 0 citress. I maybe say Pink Lady Apple keeping my ingredients in the red spectrum? yet not listed, but I want to say clove, cardimon, star anise and even oud, tobacco and leather. I really feel there are much darker deeper ingredients than listed above in the top notes section. Going by the reviews of the EDT, I'd probably be severely disappointed as there is no way they could dispense in a spray the thick almost candle wax red juice that came from the miniature flanker. It dries down dark and deep and sensual and needs removed by shower in the morning for a more approprite day scent, not to start a lusty sex war in the office. This as a day scent would say shes trying to hard or shes trying to seduce the boss ;).......I really want this scent to be a full size in my regular olfactory arsenal to impress my loved one, as I do with other scents I own specifically for seduction. I will grab a large EDT at some point yet have just bankrupt myself buying another discontinued scent at a very reasonable financial beating! I'm hurting bad. I dont think this is for the younger of women I think it's for mature women. Not Unisex. Femme fatale or attention stealer mode. If anyone gets a 2004 or early edition bottle let me know and I'd happily take it for a fair price. Red berry tart, huge red lips, red coffin nails and Christian Louboutin shoes, Ruby Lips is a dangerous woman and shes going to steal your man away and make anyone in a tea dress and Sunday trilby hat bitch about her to her friends for years calling her a gravelly W#ore lapdancing in the Smoking Corner!

its a hot perfume.. for hot nights.. its a clubbing.. night out type of perfume.. it could easily be a perfume for a hot date.. men tend to love such notes.. especially oriental or hispanics or Arabs or Africans or hot blooded Italians Spanish ..hmm simply its a sexual perfume.. its more on the vulgar side.. too loud.. it screams out loud see me.. its seductive ..its a nice perfume.. and very attractive.. you will surely be noticed wearing this.. its fruity.. sweet.. yet deep.. and mysterious.. and a bit headache and nausea inducing to the sensitive souls.. with a sensitive gi tract.. like me..but once you get used to it.. its an amazing perfume.. but made for those who love euphoria type perfumes.. but this one adds sweetness and less darkness ..oh its also floral and i am surprised at those who put it as low silage and no logitivity for its a veryy long lasting and quite powerfull when it comes to sialge and getting noticed it would easily fill a room and i think its not for office ware some people might copmplain edp 100 ml spray perfume ratting 4 out 5 bottle ratting 4 out 5 personal liking 3.7 out 5

The starting notes of Rubylips are sour citrus and zesty red fruits blending into a fruity-fresh mixture. The somewhat dominant sour note makes it different from a lot of similar fruity openings where the fruits are usually sweeter. Rubylips then develops into a powerful and almost sharp waterlily scent I can describe as lily-of-the-valley with a darker, iris-tinged heart and dominate the scent for the next few hours. About 3 - 4 hours later a soft and powdery finish develops, like the scent of clean musk but warmer with spicy undertones. I assume this will be the accord of sandalwood and patchouli. Unfortunately, were too subtle for me to tell them apart. Compared to other more complex and quite original Dali fragrances I own and wear (Dalimania, Laguna, Dalissime, Purplelips, Purplelight) Rubylips is a fairly average red-berry themed fruity floral with a weak base and staying power of 3 - 4 hours. A pity.

RubyLips is a creamy rose fragrance that feels like wearing...rose-scented cream. Seriously. Beginning with something sweet and fruity that I can't identify (according to the listed notes, is red currant), RubyLips then softens into the mentioned creamy rose, causing to almost feeling the coolness of the cream over the skin, its softness, its delicate sensuality...and then not much more. While not having a significant complexity, RubyLips has an average lasting power and might catch the attention of those who like creamy aromas, or are simply into rose-scented creams :P

This is a very red scent. It's very warm smelling, but not spicy. The base notes of sandalwood, patchouli, and honey smell very appealing on my skin. This is surprisingly one of my scents that I've been most complimented on. It's not the most unique scent, but for a mainstream inexpensive perfume, it's very good. It lasts a long time on me and has mid to high sillage. I've had my bottle for years, and it's getting low. I don't know if I would repurchase it because I have so many scents I've added over the years, but I do recommend it and enjoy wearing it.

The first smell its fruity-rose to my nose... after a while it have some warm notes to me... maybe the redcurrant and pachouly???... the drydown its very well, more soft and definitevely feminine... makes me think in an intense colored fucsia-purple-yellow orchid... I think this one could be very weel for women with a simple but convincing beauty, that likes to be noticed :) Its nice... I am agree its better to daytime, and very appropiate to warm climates... not very suitable for nigths how suggest the ruby-red bottle :)
