Sea & Sun in Cadaques

Now one of my memory-lane collection scents recently re-purchased, I used to wear in summers when in my mid-20s, now almost 2 decades later it smells exactly the same! Only with weaker performance, but since it used to be nuclear, I don't mind it a bit milder now... It still performs quite well and projects beautifully! This summer, I've reached for this quite a during the long heatwaves and enjoyed every spritz. :). In the first blast I get a lot of fresh type of apricots with delightful freesia that makes it slightly spring-air like. The kumquat and blackcurrant (i get blackcurrant leaves rather than berries) follow. Its sweet and lovely, not tooth-achingly sweet, but still a bit syrupy that marries well with the aquatic note. Its probably calone used here to create water lily and lotus fantasy notes, an uneducated guess ;) Sea & Sun in Cadaques is more fruity aquatic than floral aquatic on my skin and recommended to sample for touch of 90s (fresh!) apricot/kumquat/freesia. Dry-down is a bit unisex-leaning despite of initial sweetness. Imo its quite distinctive scent across the board, and not so similar with other Dalis, perhaps a little resemblance only to Cheap & Chic, but latter is not really aquatic...

Adoro este perfume, es un aroma agradable, delicado, fresco, femenino y limpio. No me canso de olerlo. En mi país no es fácil encontrarlo, así que durante un tiempo estuve tras él, hasta que por fin lo encontré y no me arrepiento, porque me fascina. En mí piel se destacan la grosella negra y el loto, que me encanta, el onmia cristaline que es un perfume que adoro, lo tiene también entre sus componentes. Seguro repetiré la compra. La relación precio- calidad me pareció excelente. Muy recomendable para climas cálidos y en verano. I love this perfume is a pleasant aroma, delicate, fresh, feminine and clean. I never tire of smell. In my country is not easy to find, so for a while I was behind him, until he finally found it and I have no regrets because I love it. Stand on my skin black currant and lotus, which I love, Omnia crystaline is a perfume that I love, it also has among its components. Insurance repeat purchase. The price-quality ratio was excellent. Highly recommended for warmer climates and summer.

I agree with the previous reviewers. This fragrance is like an ode to summer. Fresh but subtle, aquatic and has something that "grabs" your nose quickly. In my opinion, it has nothing to do with Light Blue. As Trvevil already said, it really shares some similarities with Eau de Rubylips (I would also add Shiseido Zen Summer), but while EdR is like hiding in the shade from the spring sun, Sea & Sun in Cadaques is more like walking along the seashore on a sunny and breezy summer day. To me the latter is purely about summer. This is summer in the bottle. Probably the gentle flowers give the aquatic feel to fragrance, and the juicy apricot (which is very noticeable here) reflects the sunny mood. I've never been to Cadaques, but looking at the photos I imagine, that there must be something that you can find in this bottle. Try it out if you like fresh aquatic scents, apricots, carefree summer and S.Dali;)

It's a fresh and mouthwatering scent, the kumquat and black currant make it seem almost edible without being sweet and just puts you in a good mood. It smooths out into a nice aquatic smell that lingers on your skin and clothes. It's very long lasting, my mother made it her signature fragrance and I could always feel it on her when she came home from work - and she never reapplied. Around 2017 there was a bad batch that was never recalled that smelled absolutely disgusting. FrancesAnne's comment reminded me of it, I'm quite sure she received one of those bottles because I also got one and it smelled exactly as she described. That was not the real perfume, but a bad batch.

Opens very green and dry, redolent of celery root. Shifts into spice, wood, and smoky notes. The heart gives way to the black currant and lotus, beautiful, then as it dries down it becomes clean, salty, dry, floral aquatic, musky heaven. Musk is perfect. The experience is pleasurable and elegant, but of too short a duration (lasts about an hour before I have to reapply). I found this shared certain profile notes with Hermes Un Jardin En Mediterranee, the spicy dry version of an aquatic, but boasted a more potent floral accord Jardin lacks. There was a slight kumquat note in Sea and Sun in Cadaques when I reapplied the scent, but no apricot yet.

My wife bought this blind, and we both loved it. It's got to be one of the best aquatics available for women and has this unique, salty and refreshing ambience that makes it quite stunning in our opinion. Has lovely top notes of ripe apricots too. No complaints about the projection and longevity. Perfect for summer, especially holidays by the sea. Fantastic looking bottle and carton. I hesitate to recommend it as a safe blind purchase, but I suspect those 'in the know' will probably snap it up as a gem without hesitation whenever they find it.

The opening is quite strange, kinda bitter, almost like a perfume gone bad. I smell mix of citrus (kumquat) and wood (cedar). That bitterness very soon fades away and you are left with a perfect salt&sand fragrance with a hint of flowers. I don't smell any apricot nor black currant. Sadly the longevity on me is 2hrs max, but it's such a perfect summer fragrance. EDIT: Was this reformulated? I bought new bottle and with this one I can only smell a lot of apricot and a bit of flowers. I miss that salty, cedary note.

I fell in love with the beautiful bottle, and after that with the beautiful fragrance. It is such a nice airy, watery freshness, it really has something from both the sea and the sun, for me it is the image of a beautiful sunrise somewhere near the sea, when the air is not too hot, and you can smell the delicate freesias in the garden and the kumquat tree. It is lovely, not very long lasting, but for this price reapplying many times a day is not a problem.

Sabe um passeio na praia no fim de tarde as ondas batendo nos seus pés descalços o sol batendo levemente no seu rosto aquele azul sem fim essa é a sensação de usar esse perfume. Ele tem cheiro de dia perfeito, férias de verão. Comprei para usar em uma viagem especial era meu noivado em Natal RN e esse perfume era o que eu usava todos os dias pela manhã é uma delícia ideal para as manhãs em qualquer lugar. Muito leve não projeta, mas fica grudado.

This one smells like cheaper version of Light Blue on me- it has cedar in it in very large amount (well, at least on me). Waterlily and lotus- a true aquatic fragrance, but why they put cedar in it almost all the time? Sea and Sun in Cadaques also has similarities with Eau de Rubylips. Well.. not my cup of tea. However it stays quite long and has very adorable bottle. I like the color and minimalistic design

This is both youthful and an older gen type of fragrance in my opinion. I fricking love this so much, it makes me want to enjoy the summer (heat) and just read a book and relax. It is such a comforting scent and unique. Also in a way, this reminds me of my childhood, very nostalgic, either someone I know wore this or there was a special kind of candy/drink that smelt like this. 9,5/10

I got this from the reviews I read and believed in. I'm awful happy I got it. I loved it but thought it was a bit weak. It's a very natural scent. I have found that I myself can't smell this but to everyone else I'm around, they smell it very well! It has great sillage and lasts forever! It's never too strong or a scent anyone wouldn't like, it's the scent of sunshine on clean hair.

I ordered this in July and have enjoyed wearing it in the hot weather. It starts out with a citrus blast and then morphs into a slightly flowery, very 'dry' oceanic fragrance. The salt and sand are right there. It is really unusual and lovely, reminds me of an isolated hot sandy beach near an orange grove. This is so different and that is one of the reasons I love it.

Such a gorgeous uplifting elixir!...This one is waking up with the salty ocean breeze on early hours in th morning...I don't write this to being poetrycal but try it yourself, you'll give me right. Soo fresh,clean and revitalising without being greeny.And yes, this one is a prototype for "aquatic floral" category...Highly recommended...

This is definitately one of my favorite summer fragrances!!! It's light smell which lasts all day long is very nice, some sweetness, fresh and unique. Really a "Sun & Sea" fragrance like you just came from the beach. I always get compliments while wearing it. I LOVE THIS FRAGRANCE!! Unfortenately I hardly can buy it here!

Definitely a unique & distinct scent. I couldn`t really smell it myself after spraying it on my body multiple times, but people around could ^^ Great staying power while the fragrance isn`t strong itself. Wearing it on a hot summer day is truly refreshing . Highly recommended!!

I really love this as soon as it hits the drydown- very beachy and summery. BUT I don't like it on initial spray. Theres something synthetic about it and slightly medicinal- but that fades quickly- has moderate sillage and longevity and of course the bottle is a gem!

I love this scent....it really depicts summer!....fresh sea breezes, cocktails by the pool...I love the opening fruits, then the splash of aquatics hits you..finally the warmth of amber lingers......This one is a keeper...The bottle is soooo Dali...kiss kiss.... :o)

I looooooooooooooooooooooove this perfume. The scent is sooooo nice!!! I'm always getting very happy of it. It's not too light and a bit fresh n sweet. Great summer fragrance! Nice bottle too. Unfortunately I can't buy it anymore :(

Incredibly delicate and unique smell! After few minutes of apricot overload you'll get something not exactly fresh, not exactly fruity but young. It's one of best antiage parfumes :) There is one downside - longevity...

There is a very lovely synthetic rubbery note in this which to me brings the whole composition up a notch. I only wish it was stronger, on me it has a very weak sillage and lasts only up to three hours on skin.

I've been so lucky to get this perfume as a present from the european friend of mine just a week ago. I loved the smell from the very first snif! Full of summer, sun, flowers at sunrise, love and pleasure.

It has an unusual opening that evolves into a summery floral aquatic fragrance. If you want to smell like summer on the Mediterranean rather than coconut tropical on the beach give it a try. I love it.

I adore this scent. It is aquatic and fruity. I can't point out the different notes. It is sweet in a very tolerable way. Not boring, but sparkling. Get a lot of compliments when I'm wearing this one.

Kenzo Jungle le Tigre for the under 30 ladies. Since the Kenzo is not really available this is nice alternative for summer. Highly recommended for testing. Kumquat heavy, yes please!

I love this smell, it's so fresh and clean. The bad thing is that it lasts less than an hour on my skin.

fresh and clean...perfect for everyday wear

If I were to name this fragrance, it would be something in the lines of “Ode to Kumquat”. It is all about kumquat, from beginning to end. It does not have a sea or a sea breeze smell as the name could imply, but it is a sunny and softly airy fragrance. It screams summer from the moment you spray it. Obviously, that name was put because Cadaques and the Mediterranean Sea had a deep meaning for Salvador Dali but, regardless of its name, it has a very Mediterranean vibe. Soft but warm. At least, for me this smells like home – and I live by the Mediterranean Sea. As for the perfume, it is weirdly beautiful. It opens with a green kumquat scent. I would picture plants and leaves and there, in the middle of them, kumquats. Then it changes to a sweet-ish kumquat scent, as if I were cutting kumquats open and its juice was dripping down my hands. I notice a berry and a different citric note, somehow. Rather than apricots, somedays I would say it smells like peaches. Other days it is sourer, like apricots are. Later, the flowers appear and it becomes a powdery kumquat scent. It is similar to the scent of Kumquat peels. This transition is made within two hours. It is a kumquat feast. After that, it remains as a balmy and tangy skin-scent. The longest it lingers on my skin is up to 3 hours.... Poor poor longevity. And the sillage is poor as well. Only the first 10 to 20 minutes it seems to project a little, but not much. Taking into account that I have to reapply it several times to last me a day, I almost never reached for it until this summer. I knew I would have to take the bottle with me and the thought of it annoyed me. The fragrance is beautiful and different, but it never seemed to call me from the shelf. Strangely enough, whenever I have worn it, it has made me feel happy and positive, so I have never regretted wearing it. It is also very inexpensive, reason why I don’t want to complain much about the longevity nor the sillage. I wanted to finish this bottle by the end of this summer and it is after almost emptying it that I am writing this review. It is hard to come across Sea & Sun in Cadaques, but if I ever do and it happens to be summer, I might consider repurchasing it. All I want to say as a conclusion is that, after being abroad for some time, this scent has been a sort of reconnection to my homeland and I loved it for that.

Quick, proper review: When I smell the spray, I get a whiff of sweet, sunny, yellow and summery notes. But on my skin Sea & Sun comes out completely different. At the beginning the fragrance is all about a fresh, cool and slightly tart blackcurrant surrounded by herbal (!) accords. Where these herbal notes are supposed to come from, I do not know, but they are certainly there. With time Sea & Sun transforms into an intensely floral-aquatic and cool lotus scent with a warm skin background. The herbal accents are still there. All in all this fragrance lasts about 3-4 hours on my skin with rather intimate sillage. What remains after that is a lovely and soft scent of sunkissed skin. The floral-aquatic and cool scent makes me picture myself at the beach bar at sunset: The sea breeze cools my skin while my feet are still buried in sand. It might sound weird but this is what I get from Sea & Sun in Cadaques.

A light summery fragrance that captures a very specific, distinctive vibe that's both playful and aloof, carefree and melancholy. A cooling juicy tonic for a warm summer day. The pros: •The smell is unique and distinctive, I've never encountered anything that comes close to the "fingerprint" of this frag •The citrusy notes are long lasting •The bottle is beautiful, nice table-topper •The atomizer shoots a very fine cloud of mist which I personally love •Affordable The cons: •Longevity is quite bad •There is an unpleasantly acrid and synthetic note that dominates the composition, possibly the calone or synthetic cedar •not very complex, quite static and linear Verdict: I say just get it fast if you can find it second hand, it's a great cheapie to put in your beach bag for touch-ups during the day

Such a pleasant, juicy but not syruppy sweet scent. It's a smooth flow of apricot black currant and water lily all the way from the top to the base notes and doesnt change a lot. I don't get the salty note but there is definitely a pleasant aquatic feeling, like washing the fruits under a cold stream of water. Reminds me of my favorite Burberry Summer but it's more tangy. The fragrance doesn't change dramatically towards the drydown, so if you're not demanding an overly complicated scent this is worth a try for the summer. I find it superior to all those sugar-fruit-boredom Escadas (no offence,escada lovers, they just don't rock my boat). Highly recommended, along with Little Kiss Cherry. The Salvador Dali brand has some seriously good fragrances, that somehow tend to be underrated.

Thank you all, perfume friends, for recommending me this fragrance when I was looking for a fresh, sea and wind frag. I usually recognize the famous scents with "name" and think about them when I need a new perfume. This fragrance is something new and precious for me! Something old, something new.. and it's blue too! :) This is really fresh, light, slightly sweet sea wind on my skin. Lotus and freesia (I love them both). I've red it smelled like apricot jam, it doesn't on my skin. It's summer in the bottle, it's like the first love- tender, stays close, radiant and leaves beautiful memories. Intimate, sensual, feminine, careless holiday scent. Love on the beach. I think I will have it always in my perfume wardrobe.

i really adore this i just wish it lasted longer. i only get 3 or 4 hours max but the smell of this is soooo pleasant. not masculine in my opinion but i guess i see what other reviewers mean. it just smells like apricot with a salty/aquatic sour note. its just really fresh and perfect for spring and summer. it's a fairly young scent but not at all childish. doesn't really smell like light blue to me but its definitely in the same vein in terms of who would want to wear it and what its general vibe is. definitely worth picking up for the price. probably my best smelling blind buy yet although the longevity is disappointing. edit: i just got moschino cheap & chic i love love and wow they're almost identical.

The initial spray wasn’t too nice, a bit strange i would say. It’s sharp and odd. Quickly, it turned into fruity and musky scents, very similar with Luluforever. The transition phase was confusing to me, i barely smelled it on my skin, wasn’t sure if it’s still there. After almost 30 minutes, i was able to detect this frag again. The drydown was light-musky apricot with lotus and water lily presence. Not as aquatic and transparent as i expected tho, could be because of the amber? Overall, it’s nice and would be a good choice for “no perfume day” perfume, just like what Miguel said in his review. The bottle is a winner! Simple, beautiful, and has beach and summer vibes.

This is such a juicy beachy summer scent. It smells delicious, which makes it SUCH a shame that the longevity is absolutely awful. You get like 1-2 hours out of a moderate amount of sprays. It is quite cheap at like 15 euros for 30 ml so if you don't mind reapplying every few hours, go for it. I mostly smell watery apricot with an eeeeever so mild citrus in the background. I feel like this scent ONLY works on a hot summer day because without that context it reminds me of air freshener for reasons I can't quite pinpoint lol. When in context, though, it works great! Not overpowering, not too sweet, a clean freshie.

I got Sea&Sun in summer 2007 and I loved it. It's soft and fruity. Very noticeable apricot and lily. I wanted to wear it once again and bought small bottle in 2015. First spray and I smelled celery! I couldn't remember celery note in my memories so I had to give it away. Some strange way I can't forget this scent so I keep repurchasing it every now and then. I like fruity side of this scent but I don't like celery one. This time I'm going to keep this old friend, celery is not that bad and it fades after hour. Synthetic summer. My daughter says that first spray smells like salmiac/salty liquorice.

It's a light soft fragrance. Fruity and fresh with no citruses. The fragrance sits close to the skin. Longevity is ok. It's a nice choice if you want to smell clean and a bit powdery without musk. The most prominent note is an apricot. Sea&Sun was my favorite until I discovered Fly high from Mexx which has much better sillage and longevity while still being soft, young and fresh. The bottle is obviously a work of art. An interesting touch is that the spray straw becomes invisible when in liquid. I've never seen it in a perfume bottle before.

I bought this at the drugstore as I found a little 30ml for 5,99$ CAD! I wasn't expecting much but a cute bottle to add to the collection. I was pleased though. I can't find what it reminds me of, but it somewhat nostalgic. It could be the very popular "aquatic" smells of the late 90's early 2000. The opening is a bit sharp, it might be the kumquat, but it settles very fast and I'm left with a pretty freesia (almost exclusively) scent. It's bright and feminine.

Pleasantly clean & musky. The initial blast is FREESIA but in the drydown I do begin to get the apricot (mild), watery florals and a bit of zing from the black currant. It's a nice safe scent. A good alternative to such aquatics as Light Blue because it has less of a sharp, woody character. To me this is not a "beachy" fragrance, but it does recall the ocean in an abstract way. Sort of how Laguna is an alternate dimension tropical paradise.

I find this very very very similar to Esprit for My Spirit, which I bought first nearly 15 years ago. These two join only two same ingredients : cedarwood and lotus flower. In comparison SSC is sweeter, maybe because of apricot-note and EMS is leaning more to green/citrus -notes. Both are very uplifting, relaxing and enjoyable. And both of them, sadly, too shortlived. Still beautiful gems.

This blind buy arrived this morning...What can I say...it's GORGEOUS! Summer in Spain in a bottle..like a dip in the sea (salty note) after an afternoon on a hot sandy beach! I chose it based on the comments of other members and I'm sooooo glad I did. Summer and holidays may be a while away but in the meantime I have Sea & Sun to bring me sunshine.. :)

How many different experience! peoples noses are so unique perceiveing by smell. I'm using this fragrance for second summer and it really gives me an euphoric effect. Won't stop buying and must have for every summer. Well blending with summer and beaches :) It has fresh frutty sweetness. Not sugary at all. You must try!

I have it and this one really evokes well the salty sea, is a great summer fragrance, feels very clear kumquat (orange dwarf) and then the middle notes (which are those waterflowers ). Gives a very clean and oceanic sensation. Very nice summer choice!! Finally I must emphasize that the bottle is beautiful!

I like this one very much, so light and cheerfull to wear when you like light fragrance on hot summer days and going to the beach. Its starts for me with most of apricot and black currant, middle notes freesia and waterlily the most. I was in Cadaques few years ago and it is beautiful and peaceful there.

For all those women searching for a "salty" fragrance... This one its a success! -at least on my skin :D - Its a lovely, feminine, and sensuous fragrance in my opinion... not for use at beach... Its for go to every place "with" the beach on the skin. Its really beautiful and shining.

Sea and Sun in Cadaques is wonderful fragrance. I bought it untested about 4 years ago and I was not disappointed. On my skin the blackcurrant and the lotus stand out the most and I can smell the lovely fresh, aquatic scent all day. Very well done!

Tested and bught today. Very nice and pleasant summer scent, like it very much. EDIT: So favourite summer fragrance. This is absolutelly "must have" perfume, a perfume treasure. LOVE IT, it is stunning ♥. 10/10 Great job!

Just ok. Lightweight and likeable enough, but not a standout in any way, could not recommend. The citrus was a minor player and I initially sensed the cedar, which didn't quite jive with the other notes.

this is the quintessential summer perfume. Stuck in the city for vacation? spray this on and be transported to your private beach. stand next to someone and the silage will bring them with you :)

So fresh this fragrance. Either the apricot or kumquat -not sure which, maybe both- stay through to the drydown, and it still manages to be softly floral. It's wonderful for spring and summer.
