Sunrise in Cadaquès

A nice blind buy, and very affordable. The 30 ml has an adorable bottle! I was curious to smell all this happiness, freshness, warmth, intimacy, joy and optimism in a bottle, as it is mentioned in the description. Well, maybe the grey and rainy weather is just not suitable today, but I don't get much optimism & happiness from this perfume yet. I think the description is more applicable to other Dali fragrances like Itislove and Itisdream. I don't find it to be masculine, but it is certainly not a girly fruitbasket toffee vanilla gourmand kind of smell. The scent opens with mandarins, not sweet, but fresh, even a bit bitter, like the sharp juice that sometimes sprays from a mandarin when you open it with your nails, and like mandarin peel. Then the balsamic notes follow and smoothen the sharp notes out, becoming warm and soothing. I don't get much flowers, however I do notice the immortelle which is also present in my favourite summer scent Itislove by Dali. My first impression of Sunrise in Cadaquès is that minus the mandarins, it smells very much like Inoubliable Elixir Patchouli by Reminiscence. However, Elixir Patchouli has a huge staying power. As for this one, I already re-applied after two hours. As for sillage, Sunrise can hardly offend anyone, it is very modest. Try it if you like something off the beaten path!

Sunrise in Cadaques is my most recent blind buy based on how much I liked the name and the bottle, also it's my first Dali fragrance. So far it's a like but not a love, however I think that might change in the summer because it will please me to wear much more at that time. This is the lightest scent I have that is this predominately woody, in fact it's so woody on me throughout the whole life of it that I can't detect much else than that. It's a pleasantly dry fragrance that could be very refreshing when I'm looking for a perfume in the summer that isn't overly citrusy or aquatic: I like many in those categories but this is pleasantly different. Another good thing about it is it's not a real "girly" perfume, I wouldn't assign a gender to it, it's versatile. I love to light a candle in my room in the evening and put it right behind the bottle, so I can watch the flame flickering through the glass, it's gorgeous with this bottle and its colors. Not a bad experience at all with my first Dali.

Well, I'm not sure what to write about really. It's not bad, it's not great. It's the little popper, that never popped. As kids, we would stomp on them, again and again futilely, until we would find no further pleasure and move onto the next thing that might spark our interests. Yep, that's Sunrise in Cadaques. It doesn't smell like much; maybe slightly cosmetic; or the smell of your jeans upon returning from a long walk through the California country side, brushing herbaceous flora along the way. The mute scent opens slightly with body heat, tangling briefly with dry down, and for those moments, you pause briefly, as if in the distance you think you may see the beginnings of something grand and beautiful. Alas, it is but a mirage, and stuck with a large bottle of the substance that caused the illusion, you promptly slump down with the nagging thought - "Is this really it?"

Ultimate vintage summer scent with a balsamic note which lingers throughout all stages of Sunrise in Cadaquès. It gives me a strong sense of nostalgia and I do not know why. For me this perfume sounds the best on the summer evening. In hotter temperatures it opens up significantly more masculine and I absolutely understand reviewers who say it’s too masculine for them. There is something little bit salty about this perfume and I wish I had a chance to wear it to the sea side holiday one day. It’s safe and it’s a beautiful scent buy but it does not strike me as something you can wear every day. Also longevity is very good on this one at least for me. Holds on my skin for a while

Actually...very nice ! Opens with elemi/citrus/orangey .....the mid-notes of the florals....yes ..iris/jasmine and the immortal for extra "zing". The tolu balsam note is evident and balances out everything.IMO....light patchouli/labdanum/musky. yes... this is in the "vein" of the Hermes scents mentioned above....but Cadaques seems more "oomphy"..and maybe less smooth. For the scent and price....it's a good bargin scent for sure. Performance wise, IMO, this performs a tad bit better than the Hermes.....??....yup. A happy blind buy. Easy to wear and like.

I expected more from this fragrance based on the notes. It is a wisp of a scent that is barely there, very close and not long lasting or potent. It opens with lots of bergamot and citrus, a little vanillic heliotrope, a little elemi, immortele, pepper, musk and patchouli. Like a stronger citrus vanilla balsamic floral that has been watered down. I like it but don't love it. If I didn't own it, I wouldn't miss it. Mediocre at best. It settles on the skin to a pretty balsamic floral. Soft and nice.

I realy have to force and struggle myself through the opening ..... so nasty! And thats a pitty, cause the scent developes so nice and clean and warm and airy on my skin. The simmilarity with montana parfum d elle makes me love this scent. But the ugly opening and the poor longevity make it an almost unweareble scent for me. The value for me lies in the short but vivid memory of montana parfum d elle.

Fruity at first, quite balsamic later. It's nice, but too oriental for me. It's a shame, because the bottle is a beauty that in reality it's even prettier because light comes through it in an amazing way.

I'm starting to love it. For me it's a mix of my beloved Eau Des Merveilles and a few drops of Elle edp. Marvellous, but unfortunately very weak...

I must entirely agree with #littlebee Sunrise in Cadaques = Elle (in the beginning) + Eau de Merveilles (the end - like a doppelganger).

Smells like Spa resort to me! Like the most expensive citrusy, herbal and balsamic massage oils!

I wanted to love it, I really did. The lips along with the two-toned sunset coloured bottle had me in love. I do not know if it is the elemis in this or the immortelle flower but I cannot stand this. I expected this to be more sensual--since it has patchouli, I thought that would be the case. I was disappointed to find it not Angel Muse sensual or Euphoria sensual. I am an oriental lover at heart. I suppose the labdanum is what makes it smell quite leathery and I also detect a lot of tobacco. Like start-to-finish tobacco notes. Where is the jasmine and the iris in this? I cannot detect them. It very much reminds me of being close to a lady whose clothes smell like a mixture of perfume and smoke. Yes, it is THAT smoky to my nose. As someone who hates tobacco, I cannot ever bring myself to love this, no matter the season. I sprayed it 4-5 times, different times of the day but all I can detect is a bit of citrus and tobacco throughout. The weird thing is that I liked MAC's My Heroine shadescent (the one with the purple cap) quite a lot and it has labdanum and patchouli also. (It also has leather and tobacco!) I had found that a very unconventional, yet sexy fragrance and yet here we are, Sunrise in Cadaqués smells smokier and more leathery! I hardly can make the connection of a sunrise at a beach and tobacco/leather scent--so far only the blue and orange bottle aligns with the name. I think it will suit older women better. Also, an older woman would probably be able to appreciate it more as this really does smell like a vintage, early 90's perfume. If you are bothered by tobacco/leather there is a chance this might not be your cup of tea. I gave it to my mother who is over 55 and she loves it. It is not a bad perfume and definitely do not detest it. It is just not for me. Hardly anything mysterious or sensual about it. Not in the conventional way at least. Not if you love Angel Muse with its seductive patchouli and cacao. I think of this perfume as one of a woman who is experienced and wise and does not need to outrightly seduce. Her presence is felt and seen. She does not need to be pompous or even talk much. She smiles in wisdom and she knows there is a wealth of secrets inside her that along with her life experience make her timeless. Like a sunrise. Or a sunset.

Pencil shavings + orange peel + soap. That's about it. Its OK, gives off a vintagy 80's vibe.

Very weak projection, after 5 hours can't detect it.

Art studio somewhere in Spain. The smell of fresh paint in late summer evening. Simple. It's kind of generic but have something unique. It's not for everybody. Longevity is ok (few hours) and sillage is ok (intimate/moderate). More unisex then female.

It's for women? Really? All I can sense is a strong, very masculine scent. Smells like wood, musk and palsamic notes together. I can't stand it, it's so terribly strong and masculine.

Really underwhelming, nothing interesting about this one but I pretty sure my bottle was spoiled so take my review with a grain of salt. Not a safe blind buy though

It isn't safe blind buy. Despite being affordable and in lovely bottle and box this perfume doesn't smell like perfume for women. But it's affordable and I used to use my full bottle as decoration on my table😄. I used to hate this perfume. That ugly strange smell... I'm really rude to write it in theese words. Then I tested in perfume shop Eau de Merveille by Hermes and I was shocked that it's exactly the same. I still hated it. Tonight, I feel lonely and melancholic..... and I started wearing this perfume. It's cold and melancholic scent. Not really pleasant. It has nice warm optimistic bottle....what's a joke.... juice isn't like it. I can imagine this scent to be beautiful on cold sunset looking on the river or sea. I have my bottle 1 year and maybe it's little bit more mature than before. I'm glad that I didn't throw it into bin😄 It's migrena safe and doesn't cause nausea.

Blind buy convinced i'd be wild about it. Not feeling it. Smells like baby wipes and orange rinds. Was hoping for maybe a deeper Om. Also has a cheap church perfume thing going. Idk. I'll keep trying, but this feels like a bad first date after lots of good phone convo. Hehe.

I love Salvador Dali as artist and I like his perfume. The bottle Sunrise in Cadaques is masterpiece! I was few years ago in Cadaques and I can understand, why that place is so magical. You can find this magic in this perfumes bottle.

Just ordered a bottle online: I haven’t smelled it yet on my skin, but just giving a heads-up that my bottle is lipless! I’m bummed! No lips.....just a smooth bottle. Boo.

A wannabe of EDM , instead of elemi this fragrance is more piney / cypressy and not enough sweetness. there's also a runaway creamy note that is off-putting.

Sweet oranges. orange blossoms, elemi, lime, heliotrope, & patchouli. I can't really detect jasmines, but i detect some balsamic. Very commercial.

Linear citrusy, immortelle, balsam, etc.. Could be unisex. Leans mature. Lasts awhile. Nifty bottle. ✨
