Arte Orafa

A bright and cheerful composition by Julien Rasquinet for Salvatore Ferragamo. Like mentioned before, Arte Orafa does indeed share certain elements with The Moon. Most prominently, the raspberry note is basically identical in both fragrances. Additionally, both fragrance aren‘t far apart in terms of structure and texture either. With that being said, they are still very different in scent profile. Arte Orafa opens with the aforementioned raspberry note and some additional citrus notes. Shortly after Arte Orafa turns bright-aromatic, almost minty with a mix of cardamom, orange flower and incense. Very clean-cut and elegant. Towards the base the orange flower fades and one can perceive subdued, ever so slightly smoked woods that ground the fragrance, giving it depth and staying power. The overall smell can be described as fruity, bright, aromatic, woody. A complex, refined fragrance with good longevity and sillage. Very much under the radar composition, if you can, get your nose on this.

There's basically nothing to dislike here unless you can't stand oud in any way. It's one of the more comforting I suppose "western" oud openings with some tart fruit that settles into a resinous mid and a base that has most of the notes dancing in harmony. Easily wearable no matter the season. Even high heat I feel like it would be really interesting to wear and maybe even shine. I'm currently wearing it side by side with Kerosene R'oud Elements because even though they're mostly different, whenever I wore Arte Orafa it would remind me of R'oud Elements. They are actually quite different, the only similarities are in their occasion and wearability which is whenever you want. All year, any occasion. I'm so glad I found this but I'm still getting to know it after a few weeks of consistent wear. Which is a good thing. Beautiful baseball bat of a bottle too. I'm really glad I took a chance on this.

I just wore More Than Words yesterday, so it was fresh in my mind when I smelled this. Not looking at notes or any other field, Blue Sapphire Supercharged and More than words and you get it. An absolute steal at under $100. Citrus fruity spicy aromatic. No funky oud at all.

Beautiful. The raspberry and the olibanum jump out the most in the first 2-3 hours. The resins and woody base soon take over and it wears on the skin for 6 or more hours. This perfume would be perfect but there’s a synthetic that gives me a headache. I absolutely love this scent and wish I could wear it.

I’ve not smelled the FM fragrances referenced above - but I have smelled blue sapphire - albeit over 5 years ago. That said, this smells like what I remember blue sapphire smelling like. Very nice scent - very different from most mainstream offerings. Under $100 was a steal!

This is some good stuff with nuclear performance. The perfumer is a master in his craft. I got this for a steal price too. Try it guys!

This scent strongly resembles Frederic Malle’s The Moon, but that’s not really surprising when considering that both perfumes were created by Julien Rasquinet. The raspberry note used here is very akin to that of The Moon, but obviously the Oud used here is most likely synthetic, as compared with The Moon. This essentially delivers a tamer and less “in your face” composition. For those that either own or have tried The Moon, you’d understand how challenging the scent might be at first sniff; not because it’s necessarily skanky or barnyardy.. It’s just quite intense. With Arte Orafa, that “challenge” is considerably subdued, but that intense sourness of the raspberry (aided by the citruses) is still ever-present. Overall, it’s not really easy to describe the scent profile here, aside from mentioning the striking resemblance this has to The Moon. Imagine Tuscan Leather, with less leather but the Raspberry is cranked to the max... a sour and slightly sweet scent, aided by a leathery and oudy undertone. I’m huge fan of The Moon, so I’m a fan of this creation by default. Definitely worth trying, and while I won’t say that this 100% stands in for The Moon, it honestly and truly bears strong resemblances to it.

It has same scent profile as Moon, but it is not the replacement for Moon. This perfume is much lighter and more polite, can be used in casual settings. If you can find for good price I would recommend buying, but definitely doesn’t worth the full price.

Diet The Moon. One of the best kept secrets in perfume probably. Julian Rasquinet is good.
