Attimo Pour Homme

I like to think of Attimo as a light and spicy oriental. There's a freshness there from the violet leaves, but I mostly get the cardamon and labanam. There was a comparison to Spicebomb from one of the reviews below, and yes, the resemblence is there at first, but Spicebomb is deeper, richer, and actually takes a different more leathery direction after a while. Attimo is pretty linear and simple in comparison, but it is far better than Salvatore Ferragamo's most recent launch (Acqua Essenziale) which bears an uncanny resemblance to Aqua di gio. There's a sweetness to Attimo pour homme that allows me to wear it as a woman, but I certainly wouldn't call it feminine. It smells clearly of a man's cologne, but hey, who's gonna stop me? ;) Like some other fangirls have mentioned, I discovered it when I learned that it was the signature of the very brilliant Benedict Cumberbatch. I have a strange feeling that numerous Cumberbatch fans are hording this cologne up because it seems to be on it's way to being discontinued. I can't find it anywhere except online, and at a devastatingly low price. If I had a boyfriend, I would make him wear this. It's a crowd pleaser, but isn't so generic that it smells contrived.

There seems to be some confusion, as there is a flanker (L'eau) that's not listed in the database. I purchased a sample pack that contains both versions and here is my thought on each: Attimo is woodsy and spicy and has a wonderful dry down with vetiver and a little musk. Strong at first, but then kind of lingers around and remains subtle. Average performance and great at any time. Nothing original by any means. If I had to guess, this is Ferragamo paying homage to the 80's classics like Polo, Paco, etc. Attimo L'eau is sweet and slightly spicy. The closest frag I can compare it to is La Nuit, but very toned down. Longevity is poor. Loses interest pretty quickly. Overall, I'm happy with the samples. Will I buy a full bottle? Probably not, unless I come across the regular version at a VERY good price. Update: I can't seem to get enough of this. I'm very drawn to it. A blast to the chest in the early morning has me sniffing my shirt collar all day. This could possibly be my signature scent and it makes me feel good about the way I found it. It's Like stumbling across a lost puppy that becomes your best pal. Grade: A

I really enjoy this fragrance. I'm still fresh on my frag journey and haven't developed and refined my tastes to feces, camp fire, and wet dog quite yet. According to reviews this scent is boring, pedantic, and smells of pleeb. Someday I'll have the expertise needed to sniff out and track a poor through a swamp like they were an escaped convict but until then, I'll enjoy pleasant scents. Attimo has a high pitched sweet spicy note on top, I can just detect the pepper. I pick up a bit of dirtiness (in a good way) in the middle and base but can't pick out individual notes very well. It settles mellow while maintaining its scent profile throughout. Sillage isn't great for me but it's cold outside, projection is average, and longevity is 6+ hours with it being a skin scent after 2-3. I don't know what a thousand dollar fragrance smells like but I do know what a cheap frag smells like and Attimo doesn't give me any of that. Recommended, blind buy worthy but get it on sale.

I love it! This opens with a hint of mandarin with a hearty kick of black pepper. Within 2 minutes the cardamom starts to come through, and this is a deep dark cardamom, almost clove like. You then get the balsamic, ever so slightly fruity olibanum, and the most perfect saffron. Very sweet, honeyish saffron. The paprika is there as well I'm sure; a rich sweet earthy dry spice. A small hint of patchouli before the main smell which is a luxurious musky amber. Very good indeed. There's a big negative though, the longevity. This is pretty bad. 2 big sprays gave me about an hour and a half before it fades away to nothingness. Sillage is moderate for the first half hour or so. Salvatore Ferragamo Attimo Pour Homme, a strong 8.5/10. If only the longevity was better.

I honestly checked it out because Benedict Cumberbatch apparently wears it...And my gosh, it smells divine! It's very masculine, spicy, and has a citrus tang. It's a gorgeous full smell on me, but was absent in scent and musky on a friend. Don't buy it online unless you don't mind risking your money. It comes in simple chic packaging and the bottle is classy. The cologne lasts long, and is weaker after a while. (Which is good. You don't want something too strong to wear out in public.) I got compliments the first day I had it on!

Attimo opens with a fresh green note, reminiscent of RL Polo (green) and Oriflame Architect Limited Edition. It's pretty linear and a well-blended mix of aromatic spices that won't cause offence. Projection is not huge, however, I prefer a fragrance that doesn't project itself too far for work and everyday wear. I can still smell the scent and it works really well for me. Longevity is pretty good. I'm pleased to have this in my wardrobe and it will be in my regular rotation.

I am really enjoying this fragrance, and for the price it's really hard not to love it. It's masculine fresh, herbal, spicy, evergreen-woodsy and smells great, yet at the same time without giving the impression that I doused myself with shower gel (which is the impression I give when I use some of the more recent fresh/marine/aquatic fragrances). It's a safe blind buy.

this is almost my every day perfume. very safe, very light floral, fresh and aromatic woody notes. bit sexy and sensual. Not many people talk about Salvatore perfumes especially for man perfumees. mostly people talk about his perfumes for women. I say, this perfume is for new beginners perfume. Simple, sexy, fresh and modern

This does smell more expensive than it is. Very spicy, woody, and fresh, but not aquatic. It shares some similarities with other fresh scents, but this is probably done a bit better. I believe the perfumer creator is Annick Menardo.

this fragrance last on me from afternoon until midnight. top notes : tobacco+pepper,gorgeous middle notes : powdery+a bit floral basenotes: patchouli vetiver lasting : good sillage : good

I really liked this, takes about 30min to settle down but once it does it smells good,

very strong and elegant, it reminds me "la nuit de l'homme EDT"

Hi fragheads, I got a mini sample pack of the Fs and Attimos (but I think I got F Black 2x and no F original = shoot). Attimo was the first that I am trying and my only previous experience with SF frags was Incanto, which I liked but found a little boring and sent to my cousin. Attimo, while others have said smells like many others, I can't name one that smells exactly the same. It does have familiarity to it, which being realistic, should be expected considering how many thousands of frags there are - everything is going to smell or remind you of something else. For me this reminds me slightly of starwalker (love) mixed with Pleasures for Men (kind of like) mixed with Vera Wang Man (love) and maybe a little Perry Ellis America for Men (loved when I was a teen). I like Attimo a lot, it is a fresh woody office scent - not floral, not citrus (which I appreciate). On my skin it is really really nice and great for my office job. My wife hasn't given her verdict on it yet, but I am pretty sure she'll like it, and enjoy being close to it - it is a comfort scent. Starwalker is a little bit more metallic and pulls her in, in contrast. Oh and on my dark skin, a similar but way better experience of Boss Orange in the dry down. Would I buy a full bottle - no. Would I accept and enjoy it as a gift - sure. Do I recommend - sure, if you like the frags I have listed above and aren't looking for anything revolutionary. Happy smelling! Edit - 5 hours laters - smells reminiscent of chanel Allure homme (classic) top notes without the metallic twang. Any similarity to my beloved starwalker and the fragrances above is gone. Soft woodsy finish close to skin. Still very comfy scent.

I'm glad I reserved my review until just now. I have been wearing this fragrance for the last 2-3days and I feel like I can now fairly and accurately assess it. The opening aroma and heart notes are quite pleasant. They are certainly not original, in their office-friendly cleanness and low-key spice and wood accents, but they are enjoyable for the nose nonetheless. You get a nice aromatic citrus accord that lasts for 30min-1hr before transitioning to something aromatic and spicy. This stage will last well enough for the wearer to smell the fragrance on themselves for 2-4hrs. After this point, the fragrance transitions to a more transparent musk, vetiver, patchouli dry down which is merely a skin scent, AT BEST. From the 4hr point, it lasts maybe another 1-2hr but becomes very hard to smell. As a result, I rate this a 6/10. Enjoyable fragrance but with the best part ending at 4hr. Edit: On clothes, this fragrance can easily outlast 8-10hrs (just measured it at 13hrs on a dress shirt I haven't been wearing and it's still effusing scent). The caveat is that it will never be a "loud" fragrance; instead, it bears the elegant quality of modest sillage that envelopes the wearer like a jacket. My recommedation is that you wear it for occasions in which heavy sillage would be inappropriate. New score - 7/10 (because the smell is pretty great, though nothing espeically unique).

My initial reaction to the opening was one of surprise because it wasn't quite what I'd expected...not sure what it was that I'd anticipated but hey? Maybe it was the bottle design which I think is really cool. It's kinda chunky, heavy, compact and grenade like...maybe a futuristic angular tear gas but reminds me of V&R Spicebomb in any case. So back to what it smells like...unique is what! It's genuine complex and unexpected because I've found other Ferragamo's I've tried disappointingly ordinary and generic at best! This one is different though it opens with a very gentle musky, fruity mandarin vibe which then quickly reveals some spices, cardamom being the most prominent. I definitely detected the saffron in here although its delicate I always seem to pick up on it. No surprises in the dry down just standard really. It's a difficult one to call as the notes are not easily deciphered but you know what that means? Well it can mean two polar opposite things....Genius or poorly conceived. Luckily in this case it is the former. It's strange because my girlfriend loved it at first and if I'm honest so did I. Despite this I have a weird feeling that I could grow to become indifferent about it or just barely wear it. More suited to spring and summer I'd say. Attimo is elegant stuff well put together and certainly the best thing I've tried from this designer.

Attimo Pour Homme by Salvatore Ferragamo is a safe masculine scent that is nice and certainly won't offend, but isn't ground breaking and even slightly boring. Released in 2011 the opening is relatively fresh and strong, hints of spice and and an oriental freshness aroma is what I generally pick up from the top notes. The opening actually reminds of childhood fragrances back from the late 80's / early 90's such as Old Spice and Insignia for Men, which was nice to reminisce. A safe office scent and easy enough just to spray on if in a very 'meh' type of mood, where you would like to smell nice but aren't bothered about receiving a compliment etc. I don't get any sillage and only mild projection with this scent and this was worn on a warm spring day which is probably the best season suited to this scent, as well as a warm autumn day, when summer is on the way out and the autumn season begins. My overall rating for this scent is as follows:- Smell = 8 Sillage = 4 Projection = 5 Longevity = 6 Overall Performance = 5 Value for Money = 6 Overall Rating = 6/10

I bought this for hubby by mistake...thought it was the women's version. Well, he likes it, I like it, AND he's on his second bottle. It's kind of a staple fragrance around here, like Old Spice was when I was a child. It's just something everyone would have had back in the 60's. Now everyone is more unique. But before being different was the norm, this would be a top seller. It's just great, lasts, and isn't expensive. Any weather, for any reason or event, this is wonderful. It's one everyone CAN have, but doesn't need to. It's well worth the cost, it lasts, and great for gift giving for ANY age. This is for men, what a little black dress is for women. This is an original "black pants" scent! Dress em up or down, it's a match! Did I mention gift giving? Ohhh yes....leave this out for Santa with cookies....he'll wear it! Mrs. Claus won't complain!

This one reminds me a lot of Bvlgari Man, especially the dry down. A fresh citrus and herbal with hints of mild floral scent for the first notes, 2nd note is spicy peppery scent last for hours. Dry down is slightly disappointing me, too synthetic and too dry. It last a decent 8 hours on me, silage could be better, stay closed to my skin. The other thing make this stand out is the bottle design - simplistic yet elegance, feels heavy and nice to hold (a real great quality bottle design). Overall, this a nice but ordinary formal/ office scent, rather I would say it is a very conservative safe choice for many. It resembles many familiar scents in the current market, making it hard to stand out. Well, don't get it wrong, it is not a bad scent, I think IMO, Attimo can do better than this as the women series had been a huge success. 6/10 from me.

For those looking for an excellent cheap alternative to this one and the long-lost L'eau flanker, look to Sergio Tacchini's Ocean's Club. I kid you not, it's the perfect daytime companion that retains the essence of the original Attimo PH but puts it on the quasi-salty molecular base of Invictus Aqua 2016 (without it smelling anything like Invictus). You wouldn't think it'd work, but I find it very pleasing indeed, especially since Attimo is kinda nostalgic for me at this point. The dna's are so similar in fact that I have a fleeting suspicion that the same perfumer did both. Unfortunately, you won't find the Tacchini on any database just yet. Either way, if you're looking for a fix on the cheap, there's your answer. Cheers.

My first reaction was :this smells like a perfume from the mid/late 80's! Is very masculine, the mandarin orange is quite prominent at the beginning, just for a few minutes. Then the spices warm up and start to show. After that I can't pin point the notes, is a mélange of flowers, woods and musk. I also get the scent of (and this is a weird one), you know when you enter a new car and you smell the fresh leather on the seats? well, I kind of get that smell in the background. Anyway, a good masculine fragrance. If you like spicy perfumes, you'll be delighted with Attimo. For me, I see myself wearing this during summer nights, but something is telling me that I should wait for Fall or Winter.
