So nostalgic!! It smells like something my grandmother would wear when all dressed up. As if she was right next to me. Christmas. Elegant rooms. The magenta roses she had on the table. My childhood and teen years when I went to her house. The power of perfume in memory! Now, memories aside, this is quite a realistic jammy rose, sweetened. It smells like quality ingredients were used in here. I don’t smell much of the other notes, because they are there to heighten the rose, supporters of a prima ballerina, just the suede in the drydown. I love it!

This is so stinkin' pretty. A rose for all ages. This is plain fun to wear and has a lovely dry down. You will very much detect the citrus influence. The spices not so much. I just plain like this.

This is the same exact fragrance as leather rose with added orange blossom. I don’t mind I was running low on my leather rose so now I don’t have to worry since that one was discontinued

A real jewel for your boudoir! Loved the luxurious bottle and packaging as well as the beautiful purple colour of the perfume! A spicy floral but I am still searching for the roses! What a disappointment! Thought the roses would stand out which is what I was looking for in that perfume. An Italian alternative to Duchess Rose by Penhaligons perhaps. If you can, try before buying, otherwise you will have a beautiful floral and spicy mixture in your collection.

A more wearable and sheer iteration of beauties like FM Portrait of a Lady, JM Velvet Rose and Oud, close to Tom Ford Cafe Rose and most of all - MFK Silk Mood. Amazing quality and blending! I wish there were more leather in it. I am not the biggest fan of rose, but this is very addictive to smell. Such a beautiful rose. One of the most beautiful dark/purple roses. There’s something airy about it and more feminine than any of its counterparts - it takes the best of them and is actually more versatile and easy to wear. It makes you feel luxurious, but approachable. If Rose d’Arabie makes you feel like you just had a stroll around a potpourri shop, and Portrait of a Lady makes you feel like you wear the most elegant dynasty robes from the treasure chest, Calimala makes you feel like you just left $200 well worth tip in best hair and spa salon in the world, smelling gorgeous, without smelling soapy. Some say it was inspired by Serge Lutens' roses, but I'm yet to find out. There’s something modern in its dark rose vibes, which makes it easier to reach for and not think twice as with the other mentioned masterpieces. If you can get it at a decent price, don’t hesitate!
