Ferragamo Spicy Leather

The spices are nice in this but for me the leather accord smells identical to the one in Cussons imperial leather soap and I just can’t get over it. Gives it a quite old school barbershop vibe. Performance was OK, just a shame I smelled like a bar of soap. I usually prefer more animalic kind of leather whereas this one is squeaky clean. Update: I’ve worn the last of my sample today and I’m actually really enjoying it, still smells quite classic and masculine, and a little bit barbershop, but the imperial leather vibe isn’t jumping out at me so much. Actually smells very classy and I’m on the lookout for a full bottle. Funny how first impressions can be so misleading 🤷♂️ Further update after buying a bottle: I was so wrong about this fragrance initially. Yes, it’s soapy and barbershoppy, but it smells so classic and manly I can’t help but love it. Think warm spices sprinkled sparingly over a bar of cussons imperial leather soap. Think spicy 90’s department store aftershave wafting in the crisp morning breeze as you get into your Vauxhall Cavalier and put on the Stereophonics new album, the sun glinting on your gold chain bracelet as you reach for your wayfarers. Warm, clean, comforting and oozing class from every orifice.

Well I have been collecting fragrances for over a decade now and this is, hands down, my favourite of all time. When I first casually tried it on a paper strip in a local store I was immediately blown away by its uniqueness. That day I ended up purchasing something else, but once I got home this thing kept coming back to me. I couldn't sleep the night, I had to have it. This had never happened to me in the past. The strip kept lying in my car for a fair few weeks and I would get a whiff of it every time I got into my car and the scent just kept evolving one day to the other. In the meantime I ordered and received my bottle and I just love it. When sprayed on fabric this thing lasts and lasts, even weeks later when I pick the same sweater up its still lingering and the more it dries the yummier it gets. On the skin it easily does 6-8 hours for me. Absolutely gorgeous scent, slightly sweet, slightly loud but elegant at the same time. Ideally this would be a fall scent which would be great in the winter too. The spices make it less suited for warm sunny days, but where I live we have long fall/winter season and I will end up wearing it more often than not. Highly recommend.

Ferragamo Spicy Leather is a spicy, leathery and woody fragrance. It has a fleeting citrus opening, which does not last more than 5 minutes, although from the moment it opens its spicy and leathery nature begins to be perceived. As the minutes pass, the aroma becomes very spicy and leathery, showing a cinnamon smell, with saffron and nutmeg. The aroma does not change much in its development, it is a very pleasant and elegant dry and woody aroma. This fragrance is perfect to use in cool months, during the fall and winter seasons, for special situations or office work, because despite the spices it is not invasive. Its longevity has been good, it has lasted longer than others in the line, it stayed on me for almost 12 hours, but its trail is short, the first hour is noticeable, but then it goes down close to the skin. After having tried the entire Leather line from Ferragamo, I think that this Spicy Leather is the one that I liked the most, it is the most mature and elegant of all, although it is not the most versatile, but I do not recommend it to buy blindly, unless you like Bvlgari Man in Black or The One for Men by Dolce & Gabbana style fragrances.

This is such a neat fragrance. Almost immediately I'm hit with the sensation of getting into a brand new Ferrari as it is coming off the line where a guy at the factory just finished rubbing in a bergamot oil into the seating. It feel elegant. It's definitely peppery at first, but as the opening notes transition to heart notes it gets smoother with a premium woodiness to it (likely the cedar). I get whiffs of a sweeter spice with nose to skin, which I presume is nutmeg, but I'm not sure if I'm imagining those visions of gingerbread cookies while driving this beast of a fragrance down the autobahn at an incredible speed. By the time we reach the base notes, the handling is just so smooth; the leather accord glides effortlessly of the skin, intermingling with the smell of a handcrafted wood dashboard. Projection is decent, which is likely a good thing as this is a powerful fragrance in the scent bubble. Sillage is good. I wore it out to a nice dinner where it performed beautifully. By itself it's a 8.75/10. Layer it with a creamy vanilla like Tom Ford Amber Absolute and you might just have a 10/10 on your hands.

Picked this up on a good deal, having loved the Uomo signature scent I went into this purchase with confidence and boy was I correct, this is a great smelling fragrance. Initially when I sprayed this I found a familiar smell and I couldn’t quite put my finger on it , eventually it came to me and it reminds me of a much loved discontinued aftershave by the name of Armani Code Absolu ! I love that fragrance and I’m saving the last of my bottle for very special occasions.. it has the same warmth and sweet spice that the said has , a smell you want to keep going back to sniff on yourself , by once the first 30 mins/1hr passes Spice leather transforms into a beautiful leather scent with the slight spicy burning away in the background. The woods are well blended with the slight sweetness tickling the air in the background throughout the wear. This scent smells classy, exquisite and nicely masculine.I can’t wait to the colder weather hits so I can wear this more. If you are a sweet leather fan with a dab of spice and sweetness this it’s a belter for you. Enjoy!

I unexpectedly received a decant of this as a bonus in a large order filled with decants of other lauded designer and niche fragrances, and wouldn't you know it - this was the one that stuck out to me as being "special." It's the first time I've tried a decant I loved so much that I immediately went and bought a full bottle. Much to my surprise, it was only $45. I wouldn't have been surprised to find out it cost 2-3x that. This is a scent that is pretty much completely unique in my collection - such an addicting mix of spice, leather, cardamom and citrus. Nothing is overpowering, just blended to perfection. It doesn't feel too dark or too spicy or overly masculine, and strikes me as being pretty versatile for any season. This feels like one of those hidden gems that's very easy to get overlooked in favor of some of the more popular/trendy houses and fragrances. If you're one of the lucky ones who find themselves on this page, congrats - this is a beautiful fragrance and you won't regret picking it up!

Ok I'm just going to outright say it: this is one of the best designers that I have in my collection, and I got it for under 50 dollars. The first from the line I got was intense leather which I am a fan of since it was a different take on leather than I am use to. I heard about the reviews on this fragrance and thought to myself this has to be overhyped. Nope. The hype is deserved; as much as I like intense leather, spicy leather is even better. It hits that weird space where it's pretty versatile, both casual (not jeans and tshirt casual) and formal, day and night. Date night or hanging with the fellas. It's easy going but also has depth. Spicy, not too sweet, leather that isn't too dark but certainly present. This is not unisex in a river of unisex fragrances, this is definitely masculine. Longevity is around average 6-7 hours, it projects moderately, not too far, not too close, it's like goldilocks. Man oh man I can't get enough of this fragrance, easy 10/10.

Wow I love this. Antoine Maisondieu is a perfumer that I really click with in general and his work on the Ferragamo Leather line has been phenomenal. Everything about this is perfection. The bottle and name perfectly represents the scent and the scent is heavenly. It’s not a heavy leather like Ombre Leather but it IS noticeable, just moreso as a base for all the fresh spices and citruses to dance together. To me, it could work as a year round signature. Maybe not on the hottest of summer days, but outside of that I don’t see any situation where it wouldn’t fit. Can be dressed up or dressed down too. I’m not sure why this doesn’t get more hype, it’s genuinely fantastic. Top 10 in my collection right now. Side note: I see Prada Ocean Le Parfum is the top rated “similar scent” and I think you only get touches of it here, and that’s mostly in the overall vibes and use cases. Spicy Leather is a completely unique profile amongst everything I own.

Great stuff from Ferragamo. Spicy, a bit leathery, and thankfully it is virtually devoid of anything 'sweet'. A surprisingly well-balanced offering, and one that lives up to the name. I like all of the offerings in this line, despite their overall lack of popularity. The only knock is that performance isn't great across the range, but this one has reasonable enough projection and longevity to escape the bulk of that criticism (for me). We always want the best performers, I'm no different...I'd like to have fragrances that I can actually control 'down' as opposed to always having to over-spray. Spicy leather is somewhere in the middle. I bill this as primarily a Fall/Winter scent, but wear what you want when you want. Overall very pleased with this one. Side note: I can see a bit of the ombre noire here, as well as Qaa'ed. No relation here whatsoever to any of the Code flankers. Not sure what those folks are smelling.

I guess that we can all agree that from all "designer" fragrances, this is not just a masterpiece but somewhere top: TF OL, OL Parfum quality of blend and sophisticated, pleasant, perfectly blended! If you can find it, this is blind buy 100% safe, compliment magnet and nobody will smell like you. I love it, 10/10 Maisondieu! This is a masterpiece. What it lacks is: longevity - exactly as D&G The One EdP... is well blended and even if you overspray, you will get the same results. Would I repurchase? Absolutely! Just waiting to find it on any discounters and snap, 2nd and 3rd bottle. EDIT: this is a real masterpiece. No doubts. I am on my 2nd bottle after oversprayed a lot. This GEM HAS LONGENVITY! It lacks projection, being a Parfum concentration is normal. The drydown is perfume Heaven.

Wearing this today, I thought I'd already reviewed it, but it looks like I haven't. Anyway, I'm moving it from a "like" to a "love." There's just something really appealing about this one. "Spicy Leather" is (for once in frag history) an appropriate name, and the top, main accords are correct as well: leather + freshy spicy. At minimum a three-season scent but can probably be a year-round signature. Performance is decent. If you keep your eyes peeled, you can find this for around $40 on discounters from time to time (Jomashop has a tester for $35 at the moment). That's a great price for this. Side note: This does NOT smell like Prada Luna Rossa Ocean Le Parfum... at all. I have no clue how that got so many votes.

Well this one surprised me. This is maybe the most well balanced fragrance ive ever worn. I've heard very little about this house/brand but I honestly feel like I found a true hidden gem with Spicy Leather. The scent is incredible, the projection is perfect, and the longevity is as good as anything I've ever experienced. I sprayed 2 sprays the afternoon I bought it and it was still very noticeable on my arm the next morning. I would say this appeals to the man who would wear TF Ombre Leather but wants something a little spicier. Its a perfect "Night out" cologne and would be great for a cool fall evening outside with friends. A fantastic find.

#1510 in my "Tour de Fragrance" This my third Ferragamo leather and I would put it on top of "Intense" and "Red". This leans more barbershop with a hint of "Old Spice" behind the leather. Same excellent longevity and projection as the other two, just prefer the spicier scent. Reminds me of Roos & Roos "Purple Leather", which is a very nice scent but definitely not worth the $325 Euros asking price to me, and this Ferragamo scent you can get scent for $45. Car pool, elevator and small spaces safe. Versatile for any use or environment. Not heavy, so you can get away with it in warm weather, but I would probably stick to cool and cold.

This is really an all round great fragrance. Very clean and pleasant masculine fragrance, not as deep, animalic and cloying as you’d expect from the name “spicy leather” you could get away with this as a year round signature scent, but it does work very nicely in the colder seasons. Nothing off about this one. Damn near perfect as far as being functional, pleasant, and a good bit unique. And on top of that, the price is very affordable compared to other niche and designer products. There’s a bit of ambrocenide power which some people love and my wife absolutely hates. But this one is light enough not to bug her too much. 9.4/10

Opens up in a slightly nose tingling fashion the saffron and spice hit calms down rather quickly within 10-15 min Post 20 min it’s a pretty heady mix of - smooth leather + sandalwood + spices Pretty consistent/linear after 30-40 min Sticks around for a decent amount of time - 5 hrs on skin and 7-8 hrs easily on clothes Sillage is moderate but pretty attractive and elegant enough to garner positive attention At $50-60 is a great pick up for filling up a specific spot in a collection Only cons are - the fact that it begs for a more elevated outfit and might not whack someone with 24 hr performance if that’s your thing 9/10

As we can see this is a new one from Salvatore Ferragamo, when ever Fragrantica show new Fragrances for men,I start searching for it to buy so I bought this one from Ferragamo Boutique in London, not cheap.. Guys this is what I think it smells like,your noses will be different, if you remember Moustache from Rochas,it’s similar to that except Ferragamo is bit more Leathery and tiny bit spicy not as spicy as Rochas.. It’s a pleasure to wear it, performance is good,7/8 hrs.. I’m enjoying it,give it a chance don’t judge it by it’s ingredients..

One of my favorite in my collection , this is shining between many of my other fragrances ... it is really a masterpiece ,very masculine . If you mix "Bvlgari Man In Black" with "Lalique Ombre Noir" it will be close to this scent. Personally , I don't like Bvlgari Man In Black , but I do like Lalique Ombre Noir so much . So this is in between . I think it is safe for blind buy if you like spicy fragrances, definitely it is the best spicy scent you will smell ever . Very good longevity and sillage . I will buy another bottle as backup .

If you told me this was Prada Luna Rossa Ocean Le Parfum Cuir, I’d believe you. There’s a clear resemblance, not in structure, but in attitude. Saffron opens dry and warm, with just a trace of citrus underneath. Then comes the spice: pepper, nutmeg, and a sharper herbal core from clary sage. With the base notes it becomes darker. The leather is smooth, a little smoky, and clearly there in the drydown. Sandalwood and patchouli add depth. More grounded, earthy than PLROLP. Still easy to wear, just with heavier boots on.

This is niche level stuff, for bargain prices. Don't get me wrong, not everyone is going to like it. The closest smelling perfume to me is Gucci Guilty Absolute eau de parfum (petroleum coloured perfume). Leather, sandalwood with spice. Masculine AF, this smells like a biker dude turned corporate. Classy, yet has a level of dirtiness that makes it all so appealing to me. I got it at a discount, at about 50 pounds for 100ml, and that price, there is no better. Smell: 9/10 Longevity: 9/10 Projection: 7/10 Price: 9/10

Got this on a great deal from Notino. First few smellings I definitely got a cola/fizzy vibe, and initially thought performance was very okay, nothing crazy but not terrible. A few weeks later, 3 sprays before work, great sillage, and over 8 hours later a family member told me I smelled really nice when I got in the car with them! The name describes it perfectly, very wearable leather with a ton of spices and not too sweet. If you can find for around £50-60 I'd defo recommend picking it up.

This fragrance is very nice. Its a bit on the formal side but you can still get away with casual depending on hour casual you are. The leather note is not that strong its very light. Performance is poor. I get about 4hr longevity and its gone. Projection about 30min to an hour. And this is regardless how much i put on. I tried maceration it didn't help much. In fact it didnt change anything. The scent profile is beautiful, too bad the performance is dismal.

Strong projection for the first 2 hours with the leather note very prominent. Nothing groundbreaking. Night out ideal but it will work in an office environment, just be aware of the sprays. On my skin lasted a good 6 to 7 hours, but if you spray on clothes it will last the full day, easily10+ hours. Yes it will be a linear scent, but the leather accord is a nice one. Definitely surprised me. Try it on a 5 ml decant.

If they meant "juicy fruit, drizzled with powder then slapped onto a thin piece of leather", then they nailed it. I would not categorize this as a spicy leather, rather a D&C The One (2008) in a different bottle. Not slamming this at all. I quite enjoy this. Though it is not unique. IMO a fragrance for 20 - early 30's. Scent: 8/10 Projection: 7/10 Longevity: 8/10 Value: 8.25/10

I received a sample of Spicy Leather in the mail along with my original order and completely forgot about it. It ended up sitting in a basket full of other untouched samples for months. I just came across it again and honestly, it turned out to be a beautiful perfume. Great on its own and as a layering option 9 .5/10

Leathery, wood, and spicy. In today’s market this is a standout. Smells truly masculine yet refined. Out of the entire current Ferragamo line, this is my absolute favorite. The performance is solid. What truly stands out is that rich spicy leather that has a smooth leathery scent. This is special.

Exactly like someone said here it smells retro without smelling outdated. To me it smells like the 80s or 90s guy wearing a suit but with an added layer of ambroxan or god knows what. It has a great performance and smells very elegant. I'd say 9/10 masterpiece Antoine Maisondieu knows his stuff.

If i’m somewhere nice getting a cocktail in a dimly lit room, this is what i want to smell like. Mature, masculine, spicy, leathery. It’s like not a safe blind buy, but if you’ve been to enough nice bars in your life to know what I mean, this is THE perfect speakeasy scent.

I’m a fan. I think this ferragamo line is underrated as a whole. This is a nice spicy, peppery leather with a hint of sour citrus. It’s a very classy scent with a really robust scent profile that feels pretty unique overall. It exudes quality. I’m really feeling it. 7/10

When i say i had five compliments in one day i mean i literally had my boss follow me because she loved it that much. Fresh and spicy with the perfect balance of leather thrown on top, such a well rounded fragrance, this Tygar Bvlgari and God of Fire are my top 3

SOTD This is a masterpiece. It stayed on my skin for 6+ hours and on the shirt for 24+ hours easily. The scent is unique: fresh leather with a pleasant smell that fits this season. I'm thinking of ordering a backup bottle since it is a "special edition."

There is sweetness, spice and the leather is subdued and pleasant. It definitely has some sex appeal. It starts off strong but mellows out soon after. It's best for cooler weather and can become a cold weather signature scent.

Ok performance 5-7 hours, sits closer to your skin after 1 hour. The scent is great, I like how this develops after 10 minutes. Although not that close to TFOL, I would find myself picking this over that. 8.5/10

Gucci Guilty Absolute for the faint hearted (like me). Can't wait to drown myself during Autumn, this is fantastic stuff. 4.5/5 PS I note availability is starting to fall, with prices rising.

Really addictive scent. Leather here is not upfront, but as a supporting element. Smell is not very sharp but viscous. Longevity and projection are average.

A must have for every man! Perfect for autumn and winter. Masculine. Leathery. A smooth Fahrenheit. Vintage and elegant vibes.

As a big fan of Uomo Signature, I find that Spicy Leather follows a very similar style, but amplifies both the strengths and the weaknesses. It’s an extremely elegant fragrance — honestly, a level of refinement I’ve only encountered in a handful of scents. At the same time, it doesn’t demand a strict dress code; you can easily pull it off even with moderately casual outfits. I’d say it’s best suited for those 25/30 and up, and it works well across three seasons, even on cooler summer evenings. The opening is delightful — refined, with beautiful citrus notes that last a good hour. The leather and spices are smoothed out, well-rounded, never harsh. The overall character is one of subtle sophistication: it doesn’t grab attention aggressively, but rather captures it quietly, almost under the radar. Perhaps too quietly. Personally, I prefer fragrances that don’t choke a room with projection, but I still expect solid longevity and a reliable scent bubble. Unfortunately, Spicy Leather let me down on both counts. The personal bubble, already on the faint side, vanishes just after three hours, and overall the fragrance is gone after four — lingering only faintly on clothes, and in a very restricted way. On my skin, it performs noticeably worse than Uomo Signature, which easily lasts almost twice as long across the board. So yeah, Spicy Leather smells fantastic — but with such weak performance, I’ll probably never buy a full bottle. And that stings. 😅

This smells like the drink Moscow Mule. Like a spicy ginger beer. The name does not match. As I don't know any leather that smells like this. It is very very spicy. In fact, id describe the smell as mostly Black pepper and patchouli. You go nose blind to this one very quickly. A way to test this is to wear it one day and take notes on how strong it smells. Then the following day spray a shirt and leave it ur dresser and come back and smell it every hour. You will find this is extremely potent when not on you. I'm very sensitive to patchouli and not a big fan. So that matters. If you don't like patchouli - you won't like this. I really don't see how this got 4.30+. It's not mass appealing at all and not a compliment magnet. It is very masculine as it's very peppery. But the pepperynes isn't sharp and peirceing like in Dior Sauvage - its kept down by the safraliene. After several wears its grown on me. I give it a solid 8/10.

Just released a review of this on my YouTube "Rotten Rebel". This to me is really what the name says: Spices and leather. A fantastic spicy and bright opening which then dries down to a woody and leather blend.. The opening is intense and I love it.. The dry down is nice and smooth, but very soft. Overall this is an easy to like fragrance that to me is primarily spicy, woody and leathery and it's a fragrance most people will enjoy. The performance is not the best, but it's not a complete skin scent either. A great fragrance if you can find it cheap, or if you are looking to get started with leather fragrances and want something that's light on the leather. Do not get it if you are looking for something that's strong in the leather or something like Tom Fords Ombre Leather, because this is not that.
