Leather Rose

Like everything in the black bottles from this line, this is a beastly, loud performer (and that’s not a bad thing). Rama said it perfectly: “Smells so expensive!” I own this, Golden Acacia, and White Mimosa, and they all have unbelievable sillage and longevity, and they all smell luxurious and beautiful. This one is less complex than the other two, but I think that’s by design. It leans slightly feminine, but it works well on men too - if my own experience is any indication. I’ll have to give it a couple more tries, but up to this point I get nothing but dark, sensuous rose, and maybe a little smoke. If you’re looking for powerful, classy, and sexy rose for a night out, this is a fantastic choice.

Just bought this fragrance two days ago as I was looking for a nice rose scent. At first, I got myself the Golden Acacia for only $45 in a bazaar but the next day I found this luxurious gem so I couldn't help myself but buying it. It smells like a garden of rose on the first sniff then it turns to smell like a pair of expensive Ferragamo leather bag / shoes then it goes back into a pleasing rose scent. Love love it! Erotic as it is. Black roses with velvet petals wrapped in thick soft leather... Dark, deep and intense, extremely sexy - I wear it when I want to feel attractive (or just when I'm in a good mood :D ) I agree that it smells expensive - the quality of both the ingredients and the work are obvious. Perfectly balanced, not in-your-face, but making you want to follow the sillage and smell it more. I have all 4 of the black line, they smell better than many trendy niche scents.

A safe starter if youre looking into rose and leather base fragrance as the rose is the dominant note with a soft hint of leather with the rose not being in your face. Giving of a dark, seductive alluring scent trail wherever you go. Very well blended comparable to niche fragrances with the longevity being 8h+ It is not a day/warm weather wear fragrance or it can be quite cloying so go easy on the trigger. This is a really nice scent! I definitely pick up more rose in this than leather, but it is well rounded. I find the scent quite pleasing! It does remind me of Tom Ford's Cafe Rose, so if you like that one but find the price tag a bit much, you get more quantity of this for less money than a 50 mL Tom Ford.

I bought Leather Rose and others from the line thinking this was going to be the safest blind buy of the bunch. With a name like Leather Rose, you kind of know what you're getting into for the most part. It's not quite what I expected. This is rose, rose, and more rose with just a touch of suede and cardamom. Not a seductive, or dark, or dewy rose, but kind of an airy, powdery kind of rose. Lots of it. I typically enjoy rose fragrances, but this just isn't doing it for me. It's, dare I say it, a bit homely. Like the fragrance personification of somebody's grandmother's floral couch. It's not terrible - I doubt many people would find this polarizing - but it's oddly safe and two dimensional, especially compared to the how outstanding the others are from the SF's Tuscan Scent/Soul line. For rose lovers looking to foray into leather scents, this may be a safe starting point. For those looking for a fragrance with more depth and spice, this probably isn't it.

This is a very good perfume, a straightforward rose leather, with a pretty pink rose probably made of several different rose type compounds over a very smooth black leather, like leather pants, base. It's got quite good sillage, not offensive but distinct and pretty. At its very end the dry down is a more floral and musky scent. Leather Rose is unisex but leans feminine, in that from a distance you get the pink rose and as you get close you get the 'naughty' leather. If you are wary of Rose Ouds but want something similar in concept this is a good first foray into the fragrance style. It's also a nice leather, if not especially memorable. Leather Rose plays much better on skin than fabric. The first time I tried it the rose came off fluorescent, sweet, and simple and the leather much more complex--on my clothes. Trying it on skin a second time revealed a much more complex rose that accompanies the leather for most of the journey. Not much projection, about 4 inches, and very low sillage, the closer you get the more dangerous it smells. It's a no-brainer evening scent, maybe a little glamorous for day. Not going to wow the critics but pleasant and natural smelling enough, one that I reach for over others I respect more. Nice.
