Savane di Seta

Yes, the non-official citrus opening is real, there's a juicy tangerine with a hint of pepper when you hold the spray close to your nose and in it's first 30 minutes of wear. There after, a humid, soft and creamy floral, as someone noted in one of the reviews, a light riff of petrichor that becomes drier until it ends in very fluffy sandalwood that differs a lot from recent female-oriented commercial successes with reminiscences of pencil shavings. The juicy and humid aspects of it undermine the dry, dusty and wild idea of "Savane" and the well-executed yellow accents of box and bottle, "Orangerie di Seta" would be more proper. Decent longevity, a bit over six hours on me with a "comes and goes" soft-to-moderate projection. My mom and sister's favourite from my collection, very underrated and surprisingly flopped release from Salvatore Ferrgamo, being discounted everywhere with barely any marketing behind it

My favorite of the Setas! I smell a lot of black pepper, carrot seed, orris, and juicy sweet orangey citrus. The opening burst is actually ALL citrus but it soon calms down to a very gourmand citrus-carrot seed combination. It must have some vanilla in there. The citrus burns off and the black pepper and orris step up. Savane stays vaguely gourmand but it also has a silky smooth powderiness too. The orris is cool and soft, not aggresively earthy or powdery. The mid and late drydown remind me of both Narciso Rodriguez Poudree and Masque Milano Lost Alice. Both of theme have a similar gourmand-but-not sweetness to them and I happen to love both, so it is no surprise that I love Savane too. Savane does dry down to the beautiful seta acord, like the others in the line. It is surprisingly original for a Ferragamo release and has so much fun texture and an enjoyable evolution through its wear.

Love this way it depicts a vast, yellow field by a juicy honey tangerine, some carrot seeds and orris. The citrusy and floral carroty scents in the opening are soft, gentle and light, just like the grass swaying in wind.The powdery orris scent in the background is musky and a little bit earthy that can be the soil of the field. It is fresh and cheerful that transports me out into a dry grassland with the wind blowing softly. I am just alone there with carefree and content.

Tried it today. Surprisingly pleasant. Opened with citrusy lemony smell, then became soft floral, powdery, musky scent. After a while, sandalwood showed up. 70% vibe of Mojave ghost. Very easy to wear but at the same time, generic. Longevity & projection are pretty solid though.

Like other reviewers below say: this one is citrus and not powdery. I think there's been a mistake in the notes listed, or at least the notes are really incomplete. Smells like a solid, reliable citrus fragrance. Leans a little masculine. I like it. Dries down to the signature 'seta' accord, which I quite enjoy. Slightly creamy but still very refreshing. Yes, it does smell a bit like gin. Much better than Maison Martin Margiela's Under the Lemon Trees. That one smells like somebody's sour armpit whereas this one doesn't. Funny that the entire Seta line is rated so low here. It deserves much more... with the exception of Giungle di Seta, which I think is the worst.

This is a nice fragrance, slightly woody, slightly powdery, with a hint of flowers. It is a bit sweet and weirdly citrusy? As in, it’s very faint but I can kinda smell some citrus in there. It’s pretty fresh, and nice to wear during hot humid days. The performance is alright. The sillage is moderate, but the longevity is of about 4 hours in my experience. It’s supposedly unisex but to me it smells a bit more feminine, but it’s still good for men. The price is ok too. 7.5/10. It is a very pleasant smell and the performance is alright.

Carrot seeds? Orris? Sandalwood? Where? I liked this perfume a lot in the store and I was sure it was a citrus-sweet fragrance with lemon or bergamot. Was so surprised to see the notes here! It's lovely but wow it really seems that they went in a very different direction than they planned when making this one.

It's very unisex. You can definitely smell the carrot seeds. Inoffensive, intimate sillage. It's great for all year around, but maybe perform a bit better in the summer.

Tried several times. Still unsure how I feel about it. Its not something I would expect from designer perfume. To my nose, it smells like grass, carrot or even beet pulled out from ground with dirt on it, then there is some powdery sweetness topped off with synthetic lemon scented multipurpose cleaner undertone. It is pleasant but at the same time a bit weird. Certainly unisex.

Yes, this is indeed citrusy! I was absolutely not interested in the notes as I dislike powdery orris scents, but based on the reviews I was curious. It's like someone infused shea butter with citrus zest– at once oily/powdery and fresh/citrusy. It's not a love for me since there are better citrus fragrances out there, but it's not terrible at all.

Refreshing for Spring/Summer - woody , citrus, carrot; sounds bad but smells good.. p,s Side note: when I saw the word Savane, I fully expected a cigar fragrance. It is not. :)

I do not get any notes of the description. To me it smells like citrusy alcohol (like gin with a lot of ice and lemons maybe), shampoo foam, and fresh grass with a very light note of black earth after rain. Not my favourite perfume from the Di Seta line! Once the carrot/ carrot seed top note scent disappears a grapefruit sweet lemon scent appears! It’s pleasant. I would NOT recommend UNLESS you are bored with all of your regular fragrances! Longevity is basic!!!! It would make a fantastic fabric spray though....

Wanted to like this, but the carrot seeds always gave me nausea :( Otherwise very solid, pleasantly different, juicy citrus scent. The bottle is gorgeous.

Zesty blast of grapefruit/tangerine in the opening few minutes and then carrot seed makes entrance providing that rooty orris aspect, there's some ginger bitterness too. In about 30 minutes it turns less sparkly and more smooth, floral sandalwood, though tangerine citrus note longevity is noteworthy as it still keeps a presence. It reminded me of Essential Parfums - Orange x Santal, which is no surprise as this is another color of the same combination, citrus and sandalwood, but with added funk of carrot/orris. Deep drydown reveals musk - sandalwood more, I also get something along the mix of cashmeran, amyris wood (a good sandalwood company in fragrances due to its generic muted wood profile similar to many sandalwood types), and even cypriol, which is like the woodiness best known from Santal 33 by Le Labo. At these later stages the ginger remains as the somewhat citrusy item and grapefruit/tangerine fades away. I do get the effect of Iso E Super and Ambrox in the air, which is the hidden charm that you can put a finger on for this fragrance IMO. Stereotypically speaking, it could be liked more by men than women. I think it's a sublime summery citrus-orris that delivers a lot more facets as it dries down.

Have been wanting to try the fragrances from this discontinued Di Seta line for some time now. Found a bottle of this one online for a reasonable price. It's absolutely beautiful... for the full eight minutes it lasts on my skin or clothes. I was excited from the notes, as it sounded similar to VC&A's Bois D'Iris, but they're not alike at all, other than sharing an iris note. I'm generally a huge fan of Ferragamo fragrances, but this one is disappointing. Not because it doesn't smell incredible--it does. It just has zero longevity. I also have Oceana di Seta on the way. I'll be curious to see if it lasts any longer.

Really zesty citrussy beginning. Continues to be tart, notes could be anything really. Something citrus, something fruity, a little exotic. A touch woodsy, but surprised at the carrott seed / orris combo, orris tends to be sour, but more in a powdery kind of way, and carrott seed is usually more spicy / grainy. That said I am enjoying this, not as much as Mojave Ghost, which is much more exotic fruity. Decent longevity. Idk what to say, I tried it yesterday and today I was hoping to get something powdery , boudoir etc but this perfume is really citrusy-sweet !!! Idk how, I think there are notes missing here For me it’s sweet - summery lemon scent

was excited for the carrot seeds note. .... i must say its ok ...... as compared to Amouage Meander which utilized fully the carrott note .... Amouage better
