Limoncello d′Italia

This one smells great! One of my favorites from this house. Samy, the perfumer, tends to make a lot of clones for his brand, so it's hard to say whether this is or isn't one, but either way it smells very bright and clean and refreshing! It does bear a striking resemblance to Banana Republic's Vintage Green, but is only about 80% similar. Limoncello d'Italia highlights the white florals whereas Vintage Green is a little more...well, green. For that reason, I'd say Limoncello leans a bit feminine, but is still very wearable by just about anyone.

My second try from Samy Andraus Fragrances is Limoncello d’Italia, a fresh citrus mix with a full note list of bergamot, pink pepper, tangerine, mandarin, cedar, vetiver, and apple. It’s certainly dominated by the citruses on top and woods on bottom but it has an interesting mix in between, the apple lending its sweet, fibrous fruitiness but contrasted with a little dry earthiness via vetiver. It’s a very easy wear for relaxing or for hot weather, and though it’s a bit sharp, it’s almost aquatic enough to offset it; put another way, it’s a little heady but somehow watery and fresh enough to make it all work. Overall, it’s not as interesting a composition as Majestic (which I wore yesterday) but it’s still agreeable and a nice composition. Like the rest of the catalogue, Limoncello d’Italia is very affordable, at $28 for 30ml, and while I’m unsure of the concentration, it performs very well, particularly for a fresh summery fragrance. 7 out of 10
