Incense Water

Since there aren't many reviews of Sana Jardin fragrances available, I will try write one for each of them on the basis of my discovery set. This a very pleasant, soothing rose water scent, with a little bit of incense note, but very, very slight one. Gentle and my favourite from the whole set, but unfortunately, it does not last on me at all... Unfortunately it is the weakest fragrance from the ones I got. Otherwise I would love to have a full bottle. I might get one and overspray... I don't know. Thank God it DOES NOT smell like Atomic Rose someone mentioned, it has nothing to do with it, it's a subtle, dewy, aquarelle-like perfume... This is a clean brand, so the prices and maybe potential 'lack of originality' arguments are completely irrelevant to me. I am glad to use safe products, that do not harm my health, which is the case with huge portion of perfume industry. Fragrantican who reads this - have a pleasant day! ✨

incense water is my great grandmother's rose bushes just after rain ... it is dewdrops on silky pink petals ... it is a dream and the pillow that came before it ... on my skin, there was a hint of burning wick .. or maybe that little puff of smoke after dousing the flame ... i wore it first on mother's day, spraying only twice, because i thought my mom might like the scent and i love to make her happy ... we both ended up working unceremoniously in my sister's restaurant ... it withstood the test of bartending and even washing dishes ... i could still sense it on my skin beyond the quick shower that followed and the whisper of it stayed with me the whole while we explored an antique mall after

Omfg. Just got a Sana Jardin discovery set. This is so, so good. I'll update as I wear this over time, but for now just have to share that it's an absolutely beautiful fragrance. I layered a little of the sandalwood temple because I wanted to see how they mix and they're also lovely together. Finally a rose that feels right for cooler weather and darker days. Just put on a vintage cashmere sweater and I can't tell you how good this scent matches the feel of the sweater. Only question is, should I still go out and meet my friend or should I stay home and just sit and smell this perfume all day??

Ooo, I was not expecting this! Within the Sana Jardin discovery collection (from which I had ear-marked three different scents for full size purchase!) I tried this one out on my skin, not paying it much attention, thinking it would smell like incense. How wrong was I?! This perfume settles on your skin as if you were in the pouring rain in the centre of a fully blooming rose garden! Such a gentle, natural, fresh rose scent, even more beautiful than rose water. Therefore I have now ear-marked *four* of Sana Jardin's perfumes for full sized. 😉

What an amazing opening! The raspberry leaf gives it a real uplift. It almost wants to veer into the soapy territory in the middle but is held back by a delicate spiciness and a nice patchouli.I like the green quality to it, without sacrificing the sensual aspect of it. It's sitting in a rose garden with some incense sticks stuck into the ground around your picnic blanket <3

Unlike others, I am glad there is no incense in this. The opening is a sugar covered rose. I love that the patchouli is not overwhelming. I actually layer this over Sandalwood Temple. I’d call this was nice, casual and possibly signature scent worthy fragrance for those who want to smell nice but don’t want to announce themselves walking into a room.

This perfume is perfection. I first encountered the sample around October 2021 and this was the fragrance that really got me hooked on smells. Now, no matter how many other perfumes I add to my collection, every time I wear Incense Water it becomes clear to me that THIS is the scent I am always, always looking for. Definitely true love <3

This is lovely, I only have a tester of it as I wasn’t sure I would like it. It reminds me a great deal of Beyond Rose which is now impossible to get in the UK. It also blooms more strongly as it develops. I must confess I’m tempted to get a bigger bottle.

This smells like an essential oil I bought at a metaphysical store years ago, so the name fits the scent perfectly in my book. Another review describes this scent as walking in a rose garden after the rain and I cannot agree more.

Just got this today and I have to say that it smells so good and it hints at Oriento by Jeroboam minus the oud, I can smell the incense but it's fused with the patchouli. The fragrance is a bit sweet but isn't cloying.

Like with the rest, testing Incence Water from a 2 ml Sana Jardin sample. Incense Water is a super misleading name for this particular Sana Jardin fragrance. Let me explain: First of all, this is not an incense perfume! It’s an extremely spicy, warm, patchouli heavy, thick, syrupy sweet rose dominant perfume! It doesn’t come across as a “watery” or watered down juice like others from the brand, it has more of a syrupy/raspberry/rose jammy texture. It’s more a full bodied rose perfume in a nutshell. With all that out of the way, Incense Water is a nice executed perfume. If you’re into sugary sweet, powdery, spicy rose and patchouli perfumes, you’ll love this! But most likely you already have this scent in your collection, like I do, it’s a very common scent profile! If you own Nina Ricci L’Extase Rose Absolue or Chopard’s Love Chopard or Aerin’s Evening Rose, you have already a close variation of Incence Water! This is not a straight up dupe of the other mentioned above but it exists in the same universe for sure! Compared to other florals from the brand, Incense Water and Revolution de la Fleur are the most longer lasting, so depending on your collection, they might worth getting or not!

Mine has just arrived in the post today, and two sprays on my right arm and I’m in love. This is beautiful. It’s a gorgeous dewy, wet rose with a supporting fruitchuli note in the background. It borders slightly on being a jammy rose but doesn’t quite fully go there. I’m happy with this as I don’t particularly like a jammy rose scent. I can’t get over the similarity between this and YSL’s Rouge Velours either, they’re very similar! I will say that I get zero to little spice in this, which I’m a little disappointed at as I was looking for something similar and/or in the same realm as Rose D’Arabie, but in saying that I’m in no way disappointed with this fragrance. I have to reiterate that this is only from a small little wearing around the house, so I may pop back and update with a full wearing. On a last note, weirdly my bottle of Incense Water has a magnetised cap, whereas my bottle of Revolution de la Fleur has regular, non magnetised cap - any ideas? Both were ordered from Cult Beauty here in the UK.

Don't let the name fool you, this is not an incense fragrance. This is all about rose...and patchouli! On me this opens with the characteristic patchouli that is in many other Sana Jardin fragrances (I really like the patchouli used in the SJ fragrances). The patchouli is followed by rose and woody notes. If I didn't know better I would have though that this had oud in it, because this starts out smelling like a lot of the popular rose, oud, patchouli fragrances currently on the market. This starts off deep and then lightens up to a watery rose, and then fades. There is something a bit warm and spicy about it in the earlier stages, which could give the impression of incense, but it's much more in the background. This lasted on me about 4.5 hours, starting off unisex and then going in a more feminine direction. This actually reminds me of a lighter version of Rose d'Arabie. Although this is nothing unique or revolutionary, it's very nice and one I would not mind adding to my collection at some point.

Upon reading the reviews of this the first time, I followed the advice of the commenters and let it sit for a month and a half. No incense has appeared yet. What has, however, is an absolutely gorgeous jammy rose scent. Sweet, lush, and quite realistic, I agree with the description of sugared rose petals. I don't get much patchouli, but it does have a spiciness to it. A little rain, a little richness, but ultimately rose is the star here. Judging the rose note by itself, it's the favorite of my collection. As a scent in its own right, I wish there was a little more complexity. It also fades fairly fast - I get 4 hours of longevity. I enjoy wearing it on its own, but I want to try layering it with a darker wood or oud as well.

This is the scent that showed me that I enjoy rose notes! Openins with a little zest and rose, growing into different rosy smells, and as the top and middle notes fade it warms even more with the woodiness and warmness coming through. The patchouli is lovely but not overbearing. I really enjoy this one, and might even get the full size. One of the only two from this brand that I genuinely enjoy. I do see why some people say it's a little nauseating, but not for me personally, and I like the scent enough that I still enjoy it. Couldn't stop smelling myself, it's just the right amount of elegant and seductive.

This is pretty nice, and here the patchouli is pretty good. Normally I Don’t like the note, but it is blended well with other notes. It is basically rose patchouli.

I have recently discovered Sana Jardin perfumes. I really like Tiger By Her Side, so I bought a sampler and a few other vials/samples of SJ's recent offerings. I suppose while nice enough for some, Incense Water is just a no-go for my tastes. Primarily because there are innumerable Rose & Musk & Incense-y fragrances flooding the marketplace, I simply cannot hold Incense Water above all the others. To me, there is nothing superior, or outstanding about this fragrance. Incense Water is a very understated, slightly powdery, almost girly fragrance that opens with an EXTREMELY aquatic, dewy green, fresh, ultra-young, watery rose note. To me, this fragrance is rose, rose and more rose. Within 5 minutes or so, slightly sour musk notes appear...nothing more, nothing less. Incense water is a very "safe" scent that wears extremely close to the skin. Longevity is 2-3 hrs, silage is minimal, if existent at all. For complex & unique incense fragrance lovers like me, Incense Water is a major disappointment. For my money and my preferences, I'll stay with Andy Tauer "Incense Rose," or something along the lines of Tauer's fragrance. This Sana Jardin fragrance is just not my style.

Although the perfumer is to my taste one of the greatest perfumers not only in America but of all time but here his project fell short I can definitely understand if it’s the brands wish to limit the quality for higher income but unfortunately it the fragrance wasn’t good enough Performance was abysmal No projection A little acceptable in the initial sprays but after a little while it stays bland and uninspiring

Rose and what must be the pimento seeds and patchouli since it’s a rose with some spice/warmth to it. It’s pleasant, but I prefer my rose without patchouli (as it turns out). Can layer something fresher on top of this to make it more fresh (dewy) and have the patchouli sit more in the background.

A very, very light, straightforward raspberry-rose. I can’t smell it unless I press my nose to my wrist, and even then it’s extremely faint, even immediately after spritzing it on. I had heard good things about this one, and I love rose, so I’m quite disappointed.

All the notes I should love but honey no it’s way too sweet. I will give this sample I have away asap I do not care for this at all unfortunately

Oh God. Going to review and then wash this bad boy (I mean bad, not good) off. This is a first: first time to feel nauseated by a scent and thus, first time to rate anything as "hate." This is the most vile thing I've ever smelled. I know this is contrary to everything written so far, so maybe it is my nose or my body chemistry but ugh. First notes were a fine dry rose scent, somewhat reminiscent of the rose in Scandalwood (Heretic) that I love but with much more punch. Then a quick dry down to an acrid, nasty, sweet smell of burning incense and plastic. The reviews often note a weaker sillage and longevity, but this, on me, has a sillage and longevity that I would LOVE in more favorite scents. Of course the one I like the least packs the biggest wallop. I think this strong smokiness is the patchouli, plus sandalwood, plus maybe the pimento seed?? I don't know but it's unholy. God awful. Notes of powdery-ness are now emerging, but doing no good. Wretched and retching. This is from the discovery set - I pray it gets better. This is my first one. I don't like their patchouli (usually not my favorite, but I don't mind it) or their sandalwood (tears...sandalwood is my favorite and one reason I was looking into these). Hopefully better reviews on the rest but....

I wore this for the first time today and almost immediately I was told that I smelled amazing by a total stranger. As another reviewer said, there's no incense here, but this is a really beautiful rose and patchouli fragrance, which is one of my favorite scent blends. It reminds me a bit of Rose Prick without the spices. It lasts a couple of hours on my skin; longer on clothes. I'm not an oversprayer, so it has a bit of projection. Within an arms length, I'd say. While I'm not blown away by its originality, it's one of the better rose scents I've found that won't break the bank. Very seriously considering using it to fill in the 'rose' gap in my fragrance collection. I slightly prefer Rose Prick, but I'm just not eager to spend $375 on 50ml, especially when I can have one similar that is a fraction of the cost. I also enjoy supporting a sustainable woman-owned business, so there's that.

What...no incense? Not cute. This lands at a junction between Lancôme Idole and Portrait of a Lady (if you excised all the clove and frankincense). The result, then, is an intensely powdery, lipsticky rose slathered in raspberry jam. The pitch stayed pretty high for me, and remained on the same fruity-rose note, becoming quite tiresome after three hours of powdered raspberry fluorescence. The patchouli softened the “screeeeee” a bit, but I found this perfume neither sophisticated nor purposely gauche enough to be interesting. It is lingering on my hair and coat forever, as unwelcome perfumes often do. Some rose/raspberry combos I love instead: FM Lipstick Rose, ELDO Putains dear Palaces, AdP Peonia Nobile, Nina Ricci Rose Exstase, Elizabeth Taylor White Diamonds en Rouge, Marissa Zappas The Pink Bedroom. And an okay one: Les Frivolites by Jacques Fath.

If you're not getting any incense from this, let it macerate. Like many others, I didn't get incense from this at all when I first tried it a few months ago. That was a pleasant surprise for me, as I don't like incense notes. Fast forward to today, when I went to try it again. It starts off with something distinctly smoky and floral, then goes full incense for maybe 10-15 minutes. Eventually, the incense smell dissipates and I get sweet rose and patchouli. If you've tried this once and didn't get any incense from it, I recommend letting it macerate and trying again. Whether you're looking to avoid or enjoy the smell of incense in this one, you'll get a clearer picture after maceration.

Immediately recognisable rose patchouli, similar to a lot of other rose scents around today, but a very lovely version. A crowd pleasing, modern rose for sure. Sadly, in spite of the name, there's no incense to be found here! I did get a hint of an oudy vibe at the opening but that quickly disappears and the scent sweetens up, heading more in the direction of something like Nina Ricci Rose L'extase. This is a beautiful take on rose, but very fleeting, it seems to only last around an hour on me, so although it's a fantastic composition, sadly it's a thumbs down for longevity.

Opens with a sweet, watery, raspberry rose. Settles down into rose-patchouli and a hint of spice. Initially I felt it was too sweet and powdery for my taste, but it's grown on me over time. The incensey sweetness reminds me of a more feminine Radical Rose by Matiere Premiere. Or Rose Prick by Tom Ford, but more powdery and less spicy. I feel that this perfume works better in warmer climes, but it's quite subtle overall. After being not so impressed initially, I've ended up buying a FB.

This is a youthful, dewy, aquatic yet spicy raspberry rose. No incense at all, despite the name. It's a jammy rose, but the dewy elements stop it from being cloying. The spiciness adds something extra to it. Very morish! Minimal sillage, lasts around 4 hours on skin, but I can smell it all day on clothes. This is one which works anytime: perfect for work, day or evening.

People are saying it doesn't smell like incense, but patchouli incense is one of if not the most popular incense varieties, at least in the west. So to a ton of people that aren't Catholic, patchouli is basically shorthand for the smell of incense.

This perfume smells really similar to L'Orchestre Parfum Rose Trombone. To me this smells like a jammy rose; in the same vein as Initio Atomic Rose or Carolina Herrera Very Good Girl. This perfume is beautiful, I just think the name is misleading.

A sheer scent that marries May rose to crystalline patchouli heart with the piquancy of pimento berries and raspberry leaf on a pellucid sandalwood base. Like wearing an echo of a comforting dream.
