Vanilla Nomad

A very airy, slightly spiced, sweet in drydown vanilla. Beautiful and long lasting, though it sits close to the skin. I am anosmic to vanilla in most fragrances, not here and am so glad. A lot of vanillas on the market such as Eau Duelle smell like vanilla extract to me, not this. This has a sweeter base, and since it is airy, it does not have that cloying feeling. This is my favourite from Sana Jardin.

OMG....I LOVE this!!! Wow my new vanilla favorite. Fall is the vanilla fragrance time for me. right now have a decant but I’m getting a larger bottle soon! This is a spicy fabulous scent just in time for fall. I’m hoping this last longer than I am getting from the decant which is about 2 hours!

I love this scent so much. It’s one of the few vanilla scents I could wear everyday. Doesn’t give me a headache. It definitely does not leave a trail or have people stopping you to know what perfume you have on. It’s a day scent for me.

This is just a take on Diptyque’s Eau Duelle. Almost identical notes and a very, very similar smell. I prefer Eau Duelle more—it’s blended a little more smoothly in my opinion.

Really love this scent - dry spicy vanilla - very spicy! Moorish, sexy and intense..... Lasts well with good sillage. Went for a 50 ml and haven't regretted it.

I recently reignited an interest in locating a unique, well-blended, vanilla-forward fragrance. I am not necessarily searching for an uber-gourmand vanilla fragrance. But I do hope for something warm, enveloping, inviting, comforting. I've worn and owned "Tiger By Her Side" in recent years. And for the most part, I've enjoyed all the Sana Jardin samples I've tried. So, I thought Vanilla Nomad seemed intriguing and I decided to give the fragrance a try. One thing I must say I have ALWAYS enjoyed about ALL Sana Jardin fragrances is the presence of clean, clear, precise and DESCRIPTIVE fragrance notes. And I would classify Vanilla Nomad as an INCENSE fragrance, yes I would. So, yes...the opening...the opening is undoubtedly a tremendous blast of frankincense and sandalwood. Straight-up. Zero Doubt. Right out of the gate. Frankincense and sandalwood. Frankincense like Roman Catholic Church, Midnight Mass, freshly ignited censor frankincense. And sandalwood, or something akin to resinous, sticky, sweet santalum from a freshly cut, wet, mossy sandalwood tree. Eventually, this fragrance develops into a benzoin-vanilla base. I do not smell florals and I do not (thankfully) smell much vetiver. If patchouli is present, it is also very faint and light. Longevity is pretty good at 4-6 hours. Silage is low-to-moderate. I purchased a full bottle (blind purchase) of the fragrance and I do not regret it. But make no mistake...the frankincense and sandalwood carry this fragrance. While vanilla is present, it takes a back-seat to the dominant woody, incense notes.

A spicy, warm, resinous, creamy, white floral mixed with sweet vanilla ! Vanilla Nomad is a great perfume if only would be more intense, richer and longer lasting! Scent wise, I love this perfume... For a vanilla lover like myself, it’s impossible not to like it at least. It’s a fairly light, subtle, slightly spiced with coriander (as soon as I’ve sprayed on skin, coriander was the first note I was able to distinguish immediately) but there also cardamom and patchouli in the blend. After the first half of hour, it mellows into a sweet, soft, creamy vanilla scent (no more spice noticeable in the juice) with a heady, lush jasmine and smooth sandalwood note. Longevity could be better for the price! Vanilla Nomad might be comparable to Babycat, but at a very superficial level. They’re both vanilla based perfumes and that’s where the similarities stop as far as I can tell! Babycat is super strong, leathery, spicy vanilla while Vanilla Nomad is a rather subdued scent, sweet in a cake way type of vanilla. I don’t have a sample of Babycat to spray side by side, but I have tried Babycat quite a few times cause I was pretty much obsessed with it a while ago and these two are not similar scents. Sorry to spoil it for anyone hoping to get Vanilla Nomad as a substitute for Babycat! It’s not. From my collection, I find this more comparable with something like YSL Black Opium Le Parfum, Mugler Alien Goddess Intense or Kayali Vanilla 28. These all share the same sweet vanilla base/white floral heart combo, which is something that Babycat doesn’t have.

This one took me by surprise in the sample set! For years I would have said I hated vanilla scents, but I think I simply disliked the candy-sweet, marshmallow-y vanilla scents that have become so widespread of late (aka celebrity scents and dupes of Killian Love Don't Be Shy). Then I smelt Diptyque Eau Duelle and was taken aback by how much I loved the aromatic side of vanilla scents, and how complex, warm and comforting they can be. Vanilla Nomad falls into the later and has a gorgeous ambery, spicy dimension that reminds me of my Diptyque Ambre candle that I love so much. It's spicy and aromatic, rather than sweet and sickly, and I find it smells quite sophisticated and elegant. It's more of an evening scent for me, and I think if I was purchas a FB from the range I would still lean towards Sandalwood Temple, but I find this one has a real addictive charm.

So... I purchased this as a blind buy in the sales. It arrived and I sprayed it on a test paper/tissue... it was awful! Really screeching and gave me a headache. I couldn’t detect any vanilla... I was very disappointed. Went on Fragrantica to see what others thoughts were and was surprised to see so many good reviews... I had this sitting in the boot/trunk of my car as I was so not bothered. I decided to give it another go...! Wow! This needs to be tried on skin!! I repeat ON SKIN!! It’s a totally different story! I love it! Get loads of Vanilla. It’s a beautiful Autumn/Winter scent. I had to apologise to her for leaving her in the boot for over a month 🫣

I’ve learned later in my journey to follow the perfumer thanks to Monsieur Malle Whenever I enjoy a fragrance the first question that pops in my mind is who is the artist behind this artwork And most of the time it doesn’t surprise me same as this scent It’s a remarkable resinous vanilla that excels in every aspect Starting from the invigorating opening of the vanilla until the late dry down after hours and hours of application I would’ve loved a bottle of this but my cupboard of honor contains at least 10 vanilla/resinous masterpieces that I’m not ready to replace or exchange If you have a vanilla craze by any chance don’t miss this

I am finding that I just do not dig Sana Jardin. The notes profiles and blending for all of their scents is just not for me. Scents are hit and miss and so far the only brand I just love almost anything they make is Heretic Parfum, so take this with a grain of salt, I guess. This is the only one so far out of a large sampler set that I like. It seems a very nice blend of vanilla that is not too sweet and sandalwood that is not too sharp or powdery. Overall, its a nice warm fragrance. Even so, it's not a favorite, just the best of a pretty bad (for me) lot. Wouldn't buy, but it's nice.

honestly... this smells like a roman catholic church and i love it! makes me feel like i just went to sunday mass, very comforting. i’ve been told i smell like church too, which i honestly kind of dig? i guess i accidentally got a perfect church perfume! all i really smell is incense, and sandalwood. i kind of wished i could smell the vanilla a bit more, but it’s sort of skin-like?? i don’t really get any patchouli, it’s very faint (good for me, maybe not for others though) lasts around 5 hours, the siliage is pretty alright aswell!

This reminds me of a toned down, less warm & complex Serge Lutens Ambre Sultan; the powdery, sweet opening spray catches me off guard, but the powdery smell dwindles thankfully. The longevity is fine (about 6 hours), and its pojection is abit more than intimate after 1 hour. I agree with one of the comments that pick up a Luna Feline vibe in the drydown. I really do like my Vanilla Nomad sample, just not enough to get a full bottle (unlike Sandalwood Temple, which is just divine!)

The nicest one I've tried in the discovery set but from first spray to dry down, it smells like a watered down version of Absolute Aphrodisiac. It's Absolute Aphrodisiac minus that slight animalic edge from the castoreum that blends so seamlessly with the florals, leather, and vanilla in Absolute Aphrodisiac. It's pretty but Absolute Aphrodisiac is much better IMO. Get this if you kind of liked Absolute Aphrodisiac but didn't fully because of the musk.

Spicy, ambery, slightly earthy vanilla. Like most Sana Jardin perfumes, Vanilla Nomad has next to no projection and a rather faint smell. (Longevity is average.) I was disappointed until I remembered Atelier Des Ors Lune Feline, which smells very similar and is much stronger. As nice as Vanilla Nomad smells, there’s no reason, in my book, to buy it with such a great alternative out there.

Another Sana Jardin scent that I'm very satisfied with. I was expecting a vanilla-dominant scent, but to me it's more of an incensy, warm amber scent with hints of spices and resins. In fact, a lot of resin. Well done. Very nice for colder weather, day or night. Unisex. I'm very happy with almost all scents from the discovery set.

Based on the name I was expecting a vanilla heavy fragrance, but it’s a lot more aromatic. It’s really lovely but for the price, this isn’t worth it imo. I love the initial spray but it wears down to be more spicy than sweet, which is also not my jam

A sweet vanilla flower wrapped in a smoky blanket of spice. The bad news: the opening spray made me gag. The good news? It got better. I'm surprised that there's no cinnamon listed in the notes because the opening smells like pure vanilla and cinnamon. As it dries down it starts smelling like incense, so it was no surprise that the notes were cardamom, patchouli, and sandalwood. This isn't a typical vanilla fragrance, but I also didn't find it super interesting to be honest. It doesn't develop much, and it also doesn't last super long.

I get a soft smoky veil of incense and powdery vanilla that gets more sweet and creamy as time goes on as it is joined by the sandalwood. I prefer it after the incense has died down a bit. It's a 'close to the skin' scent, with intimate sillage. When I sprayed it it reminded me right away of Shade by Lush, but a creamer, richer version. Nice comforting and cozy scent, but not one I'd reach for very often personally.

i was expecting something more special but this is your run of the mill standard spicy vanilla with nothing unique or special about it. perfectly pleasant but it gets docked a few points for being as subtle as it is. i typically get decent to great performance out of this style of vanilla but this one wears very subtly and the main spicy aspect dissipates quickly.

On me this is primarily a pleasant, slightly burnt sugar frag - definitely vanilla, benzoin and maybe sandalwood. No other notes present themselves to me. It also strongly reminds me of something else and it's driving me a little crazy trying to remember it. No projection or sillage to speak of which is a pity.

The incense gives this a somewhat powdery quality to the vanilla. I'm neither impressed nor disappointed with this scent. It's definitely a late autumnal/wintery scent, the sandalwood and cardamom bringing the warm spiciness in. To be honest, I'm a little bored by this. Don't have much to say.

Yeah, it's a no from me... It smells literally like vanilla extract, very strong and powdery, makes me nauseous. If I'd suggest it to anyone, it would be for older ladies. There's nothing special about the scent, it's overwhelming, but for sure lasts long.

For some reason this one was reminding me of Dior Addict. It was okay.

For reference, I’m a late 40’s year-old woman. I received this as a sample size in the vanilla discovery set from a popular scent subscription service. Vanilla is one of my favorite scents. This is a heavier, earthier, more masculine fragrance, though it dries down and mellows pretty quickly to something a bit softer. It’s starts with a woodsy/spicy/powdery scent that is reminiscent of the new formulation of obsession, except a bit simpler, and less sharp/overpowering. Then, within minutes it’s a lighter sandalwood with a hint of vanilla and spices, all the while slightly maintaining the powdery undertone. My husband says it smells of incense after dry down. Comparing the listed notes from obsession with this, you will find it very similar, with fewer (less pungent) ingredients. This whispers more soft sandalwood, where obsession is sharp spices with sweet tobacco leaves. This dries down and softens very quickly, and doesn’t emanate much past your personal bubble, so it definitely has a more intimate vibe. It lasts for only a couple of hours on skin. Overall, it leans too spicy/powdery/masculine for me. I prefer sweeter, fruitier, more floral vanillas. Not a safe blind buy, as you can see from the reviews. If you also like obsession, this might be your thing. I will not be buying more of this, but will likely spritz the remainder of this on my husband before going out, to enjoy on him. I don’t hate it, but it isn’t feminine enough for me, and I don’t love it enough to purchase again for my husband.

Not for me - very much NOT blind buy safe! After looking at the notes and reviews, I was expecting a spicy, maybe gourmand-leaning Vanilla (well, this is again proof that you can't determine, what a perfume will smell like, based on the notes...) In my experience - both on paper and skin - Vanilla Nomad is...not that. I cannot pick out distinct notes that bother me, rather the overall blend that is just not my taste, maybe aggravated through my own assumptions about how the fragrance might smell. The vanilla note, for me, is not really noticeable until the deep dry down hours later. In the beginning, it almost gives the impression of a liqueur/spirit note, which I don't enjoy. Overall, there is something that is jarring for me, and it stays jarring throughout the whole wear - it is definitely unique (i.m.o.), but sample before you buy!

Church. Catholic Church. Lots and lots of church incense, not that smelling like church is a bad thing necessarily, it's just very one dimensional for me. Very strong, serious longevity and good sillage. I was hoping more of the vanilla note would shine through.

Cardamom and coriander are prominent. This leans more masculine to my nose. It’s not a scent profile I gravitate towards, but those who enjoy spice scents, this would be worth checking out.

This doesn't cut it for me. I was expecting a gourmand fragrance, but the drydown smells overwhelmingly of lanoline/protective baby cream.

This smells so bad. So spicy and nauseating. I don’t get any vanilla at all, just pure spice.

With the notes listed I expected this to be an interesting vanilla, what a let down it was. Like the reviewer below I also get burnt sugar which develops quite sweet. This smells like a lot of things I’ve smelled previously & totally not worth the price tag. Unfortunately I’ll never purchase from this brand EVER AGAIN! Customer service is non existent. I never received a tracking # so I waited a few days & emailed the brand, still haven’t heard back. I sent a dm on Instagram, they read the message but never replied. I replied to a comment from the founder - no one reached out. The brand appears to only respond to “influencers” they’ve gifted fragrance to. Packaging is a joke for a “luxury” brand. The bottles box came in an unnecessary large magnetized box with a ton of crinkle paper. How is this sustainable as the brand claims to be? The bottle feels cheap in hand, below average glass. The cap came scratched, feels like it doesn’t want to go onto to bottle & doesn't “snap” on. I purchased a sample & had to dig around for it, wasn’t in its own box or wrapped. This brand has a no return policy but also didn’t include complimentary samples. If I’m spending over $100 on a bottle from a “luxury” brand, samples should be a no brainer. I have LV, Byredo, TF, MFK... these are luxury brands. Utterly disappointing experience from a small, woman owned brand.

This fragrance smelt very different on my skin than it did sprayed on card. When sprayed on a card, vanilla dominated with an undercurrent of sandalwood. I got a hint of spices (perhaps the cardamon) but mostly an intense, natural smelling vanilla, like a vanilla ice cream made with real vanilla pods rather than cheap vanilla flavouring. A few hours later I got soothing creamy sandalwood. When sprayed on my skin, the spices and smokiness were much more prominent. I got a hit of cardamon and frankincense, laced with vanilla. Delicately smoky and sweet. Many vanillas are way too sickly sweet for me and make me feel nauseous, but this is a drier vanilla. I need to wear it some more to test the longevity. I think this still has the potential to be to sweet, but I enjoy the dryness. I’ll update with more wear. Edit: The more I smell this the more I like it. The vanilla smells just like good quality vanilla bean extract. I actually held the perfume bottle in one hand and (high quality) vanilla bean extract in the other and the vanilla smelt almost identical. It’s sweet but not sugary. Then there are clouds of incense that waft around the vanilla. It’s delicious, calming and yet sophisticated. I bought a full bottle.

This is exactly as delicious as the notes suggest. Slightly burnt, toasty, subtly spicy, ambery warm rich resinous vanilla. I can feel some patch too giving it a real nomad / bohemian vibe. I can really appreciate the nuances here, and if this were cheaper I may be tempted. Having said that I have tonnes of amazing vanillas and ambers so for now it will stay on my love shelf, maybe even best vanillas shelf. I sprayed a touch of my favourite vanilla cheapie gem perle pour elle, (morabito) this is definitely more sophisticated than that but they both have a warm toasty burnt vanilla feel - if anyone is looking for a great vanilla that doesn't break the bank I always recommend this one they do share many similarities. *Drydown shows qutie a bit more of the spices whereas beginning is mostly vanilla and benzoin - coriander, maybe the vetiver (not the tart more the hay esque type) starts to shine more. ** 200 samples up for swap UK - check my custom shelf, get in touch! **

Not your typical vanilla scent. It’s more of a smoky, incensed vanilla. Very unique, a bit reminiscent of Nag Champa... Don’t cancel me, this is merely an opinion. The scent doesn’t even tangentially befit the price tag, but that doesn’t mean I wouldn’t consider purchasing. Most perfumes are overpriced, can we all just admit that? I appreciate the brand’s ethos - they utilize all the bell words that followers of the current thing will eat up: clean, sustainable, women-owned, vegan, etc. But ultimately, I don’t think the brand has earned the right to sell at this price point. As another reviewer said, their customer service is non-existent if you’re just some rando (and not an “influencer”), which is not a good look for a new kid on the block. As an aside, I think the founder would do well to remove her association, no matter how remote, with the Clinton Foundation from the resume, especially after everything that’s come out in recent years.

I can smell that this is pretty good quality, I was afraid of something woody that I wouldn't like, but I'm not getting that. However, there's something in this that reminds me of my grandfather, does it smell like whiskey? Maybe it's similar to a cologne he wore? He lived in Manhattan, maybe he got something exotic from a street vendor. Is it something shoe related? He was a cobbler. There's something in it that smells very human or animalic to me, almost like saliva, but not necessarily in a gross way, in a surprising way. It's a hard scent to describe. It's warm, ambery, but it's not just sweet, there's something mature about it, I think it's the sandalwood mixing with the coriander. Maybe it's the coriander that reminds me of him, I think it's much more popular in men's scents.

Kind of like a budget Guerlain Bois d'Armenie. Where BdA is smooth, velvety, and enveloping, Vanilla Nomad is more bitter, spiky, and thin. But that's only compared to BdA which is an exceptional scent. Vanilla Nomad is enjoyable to me as more of a straight up incense scent versus an idealized resin scent. I don't smell any of the harsh woody amber notes that have been all over the place lately (and hopefully soon to be considered passé.) Although the dry down is thin, it's not harsh. I can see this really floating your boat if you love incense and vanilla.

Tried this in the discovery set I got this morning. On me it's like cake or creme brulee. Very rich and sweet. I kind of like it. Usually I struggle to find a perfume that lasts on my scent gobbling skin. Not so with Sana Jardin! I have tried about half of the discovery set so far and most of them are powerhouses on me. With this brand I need something quiet and this is one of the quieter ones of the set. I don't know if I will buy a bottle yet. I will be shortlisting this as a possibility though.

I find this vanilla to be very different than others I have ( Kayali 28, Guerlain DVS, EBK Ruby n Vanilla, VC&A ORCHIDEE VANILLE.. ) it's sweet but not too sweet, it has a vibe similar to Byredo's GW and also kind of reminds me of Gallagher's Rose all Dae only less sweet at least to my nose. I agree with reviewer Cherrie Darling that the patchouli gives it a real nomad / bohemian vibe. So far I'm really enjoying it! Pleasantly surprised by this brand..

On my skin this smells like smoky incensey vanilla and jasmine. There’s something medicinal or even faintly boozey about it. I don’t hate it, but I’m not struck on it either. It’s kind of moreish though and it may yet grow on me. It lasts for quite a while, with strong projection. No headaches or nausea from this scent. I prefer this to Eau Duelle as it has less of the icing-like sweetness and more of the balsamic, ambery vibe.

This smells like Home Depot, but I kind of love it? Something in the spicy notes is giving off a dry, wood shavings kind of vibe like the lumber section of a Home Depot where they have all the pine and cedar planks. Underneath that is a bit of soft patchouli and creamy benzoin and vanilla that I am really cozying up to. Not sure this is something I’d need a bottle of in my collection, but I’m enjoying my sample.

Used baby wipes. Literally... Smells like a nomad bathed with baby wipes. The dry down is fine. Incense and a touch of vanilla. It’s not loud, not complex, NOT an alternative to Babycat. But for an incense vanilla, it’s fine. The first thirty minutes however? Just no. The dry down is not nice enough to justify the wear. I’ll skip the fb on this one.

It's not overly sweet like many vanilla perfumes, but I'm not a fan of warm spicy fragrances so this is a pass for me. Not sure why, but many of the Sana Jardin fragrances I tried (I got a trial set) smell like old women or overpowering American spas. This is a little less punchy than some others by Sana Jardin, but it does still give me that sense.

a spicy and warm vanilla with powdery resins and an ambery touch through and through. Has some warm cardamom, vintage and dusty resins, fluffy jasmine, and a of course woody vanilla. There's a nice cocooning feel here as the scent wraps you up in a warm blanket esque hug with the subtle sweetness and warm spice. A nice take on a woody warm vanilla

Warm and incense-laced, this isn’t your typical vanilla scent. It carries a subtle richness that I find deeply comforting. Throughout the day, I catch gentle whiffs, soft and nostalgic, that remind me a bit of Shalimar. Maybe it’s just me feeling a little sentimental, but it has that same tender familiarity that brings my mama to mind.

This reminds me of Grand Soir as well as Penhaligon’s Bewitching Yasmine. I have a 10 ml rollerball where the juice is really weak, maybe because it’s a few years old, but I’m hoping a fresh bottle could be stronger. No comparison whatsoever to Babycat which is less well-balanced and smoky/intense

I'm really loving this one. It's a dry vanilla with spices, and a feel of powdered wood, like high end incense before it's burned. It is a bit faint, so don't expect to flood a room. Also completely unisex. I would call this vanilla incense, myself. It's lovely.

For me, this smells like Kensington Market in the 90's and I LOVE it. Huge incense note for me, which doesn't appear in the list but the mix of notes involved really gives it a sweet incense kick.
