White Vanilla

Where do I even begin? Part of me wants to gatekeep this forever but I just can’t keep it to myself. White Vanilla is hands-down one of the most irresistible, compliment-magnet fragrances I’ve ever worn. Not a single day goes by without someone, man or woman, telling me I smell amazing. And this little bottle of magic is the reason. To those who say it’s “too sweet” "overpowering” "disgusting" "sour" I genuinely think you’re missing the point. Like any good gourmand scent, White Vanilla needs time to settle and reveal its true character. Straight from the bottle, it’s deliciously sweet. Think creamy vanilla swirled with caramelized sugar(which I love actually)but give it 20 to 30 minutes to dry down and it transforms into the most addictive and delicious aroma that clings to the skin like a cozy hug. I apply it to my pulse points, hair and clothes for maximum projection and longevity. I layer this with almost any floral or gourmand perfume and it elevates my entire scent game. I’ve honestly started questioning whether I even need traditional perfume sprays anymore lol this oil does it all. It’s always in my bag or pocket ready to show anyone who compliments me (which is again daily). I discovered it a year ago at Marshall’s and winners and have been stocking up every chance I get.Just today, a cashier at a beauty supply said it reminded her of the Phlur Vanilla spray from Sephora. I haven’t smelled it myself yet but now I’m definitely curious to check it out and see how they compare. If it’s anything like White Vanilla, I already know it’s going to be good. If you’re looking for a scent that turns heads, lasts all day, and wraps you in a soft, sweet aura, White Vanilla is it. Just be ready for the attention.

The last time I was this GAGA over a fragrance was a while back. I am absolutely enchanted by this gorgeous gem from Marshalls. Marked on clearance for $10, I was shocked at how nice the quality is. Being a perfume oil, this wears long and lovely on my skin. I think vanilla oils do really well with my skin anyways. Good job, sand & fog as a women-owned business- I just ordered the large, faceted 100ml bottle from your website! It is so nostalgic for me to inhale this aroma; a bit like lip smackers lip gloss “vanilla frosting” 🍰 from the ‘90’s. As a little girl, I loved swiping that sweet frosting across my lips and tasting it. This also reminds me a little of Abricot vanilla but that wore too sickly on me. This is quintessential wedding cake; Pearlized ribbons of white fondant swirl atop a 3 tier masterpiece of amaretto buttercream frosting. Crystallized roses adorn the structure to add a lovely bit of sparkle. Me, smelling of this Gorgeous aroma. And me, anticipating getting married to the absolute love of my life. Mesmerizing. I will wear this now and forever after I say “I do”.

(Review of 5ml Bottle) Sand + Fog, my beloved... my girlfriend and I adore this brand. Cheap, potent fragrance oils. Not synthetic-smelling either. Solid performance. The whole package. A small squirt of orange, then STRAIGHT Vanilla. Just lush, warm, beautiful vanilla. No green or stem or wood, JUST VANILLA... then buttercream and sugar. Like a decadent cake. A cake that would make you bounce off the walls as a child, or even an adult, honestly. Yes, I would love another slice. Linear as hell, but who cares? You're having more cake. HOWEVER... SMELL this one before you buy it in stores. Seems like some folks are having an unfortunate time with ones that smell sickly, sour, etc. Like a disgusting spoiled milk. I'm to assume that this is the case because of the nature of oil based scents and how they can spoil - especially considering this can be found in places like Marshalls or TJMaxx, which kind of allow anyone to open these up and use them. Otherwise, buy/sniff away!

I initially purchased this White Vanilla oil in the 2 piece set with Pistachio Dream (each bottle is 15ml) and I fell in love with it! Sand + Fog White Vanilla is the absolute perfect warm, buttery vanilla! I love how this scent has a touch of sweetness, but isn't cloying or headache inducing in any way. I can smell a hint of fresh, sweet orange in the beginning, but after the dry down, I can't smell any orange anymore. What I do smell is a delicious, creamy, buttery smooth, slightly sweet vanilla that is amazing on its own or as a base for pairing. I've had this oil last over 6 hours on skin; I put it on at night one time and could still smell it as a skin scent in the morning. Some of my favorite perfumes to pair with White Vanilla are Khamrah (both original and Qahwa) by Lattafa, Born Dreamer by Charli D'Amelio (this combo surprised me!), Choco Musk by Al-Rehab, and Star by Mauboussin.

I was pleasantly surprised by the uniqueness of this scent. I was expecting every generic vanilla I have ever smelled before, and I got a mouthwatering dessert. Once I read the notes (vanilla, sugar, butter, and orange) I could detect the orange, and I was glad it didn’t linger. It makes an appearance - a sweet orange cake and not a tangy or tart, juicy orange fruit or orange peel - and then it disappears into the overall dessert scent. Interestingly enough their white vanilla candle lists different notes (whipped cream, vanilla, rose, clove, cotton candy, and Tonka) so I don’t think you can judge one by the other. I haven’t smelled the candle, but if they turn out not to be the same that is why. Strange to make 2 skus the same name with different scent profiles.

@PixieWisp I emailed Sand & Fog about the different styles of bottles for the White Vanilla oil and the company said there's zero difference in the product inside. The only difference is the style of the bottle. I do think maybe the one you smelled may have spoiled because the one I have smells like a pretty straightforward vanilla that's strong and long-lasting. I will say that it smells MUCH better once it's put on skin than smelling it directly from the rollerball. I really enjoy this one and I want to get a backup bottle because I put this on my pulse points and layer this with a lot of other vanillas.

I'm used to seeing this brand's candles, but was not aware they sold perfume. This was a blind buy and a good one at that. The butter/lactonic note shows when first applying. The dry off is like it states. Warm, sugary, and very vanilla like. It leaves a very mellow and almost marshmallowy tinge behind. Super comforting and great for Winter wear. This will definitely be a must have for me this Winter. EDIT 12/18/24: Since it's gotten colder, the orange note has become more prominent. Not a fan of it but it dries nicely into a warmer vanilla. The temp definitely changes this one.

while it doesn’t smell like the EOS lotion which has a creamy muskiness and this is straight butter and vanilla with a slight powdery background that kinda reminds me of like toffee but it’s still still a delectable scent and i love it sm it’s SO long lasting and you can actually SMELL it esp when you put it in hair/on clothes! i get compliments js from wearing this ! (my bf says it smells like cotton candy but to me it’s more js a very buttery vanilla!)

This is a lovely, sweet, creamy, fluffy vanilla reminiscent of buttercream. I have tried many vanillas with a similar DNA and notes which have either been too spicy, too cloying, too floral or too rubbery (because of the butter note). This is perfectly balanced and blended perfectly. Absolutely perfect layering scent for vanilla lovers. I will be looking around in TK Maxx for the oil or EDP, as I only have the EDT.

A delicious sweet and creamy vanilla. The orange isn’t your typical orange note, it gives this fragrance more of a creamsicle feel than a citrus smell. Has moderate sillage and lasts about 3 hours. In terms of perfumes listed as similar— ✔️ Outremer Vanille: very similar, just has a distinct cotton candy note ✔️ Comptoir Sud Pacifique Vanille Abricot: nearly identical ❌ SDJ ‘71: a deep, nutty cookie scent

This is a very buttery and sweet vanilla cookie scent. At first I didn’t like it as it doesn’t really have depth. But it’s growing on me. The butter note is almost tangible- it’s very creamy smelling. It’s also a bit light fruity/floral. It would be nice layered with a deeper base to ground it. Over it’s nice though!

Holy crap this is good y'all! Very similar to Outreamer Vanille and CSP Vanille Abricot and a bit similar to Vanille Extreme too (minus the plastic-ness and Play-Doh esque note that can have at opening) This is sooo good, required for the vanilla girlies imo and blind buy safe if you're a gourmand vanilla lover!

This is a true cupcake scent. I wasn't in the mood for it when I tested it and so I passed it up, but I think I'll get it if I spot it again. I just suggested it as a layering option to someone in the forum and am now thinking it would be fun to use as the vanilla cupcake base for different "icing" options.

You get three things, sugar, vanilla, butter. That is all, and it is enough. I feel like a Katt Williams joke, "You smoke weed you get three things: hungry, happy, sleepy." The simple pleasures can't be beat. This is a lovely fragrance.

Classic vanilla with a delicate sweetness. Reminds me of vanilla ice cream AND the sugar cone. The hint of orange is present but does not linger. It is so delightful. I never get tired of this one. This perfume oil performs well.

One of my go-to scents. This one is sweet and creamy, like buttercream frosting on a vanilla cake. I don't get the orange at all. Anyway, it's not overpowering and is an intimate scent, which I enjoy for everyday wear.

Beautiful fragrance! This is very similar to Molinard Vanille Fruitèe. Opening with buttery vanilla. Gradually the buttery scent goes away and I am left with a rather fruity vanilla. Quite sweet but in a good way.

This is the ultimate gourmand cake batter vanilla. She is so sweet and creamy like icing. Kuumba vanilla bean can't reach this. She is an icon, she is a legend, she is the moment. Truly!!!

You're eating an ice cream in a hotel lobby. This is the most apt description. Very sweet but somehow a bit clean? Possibly the orange? In any case I'm in love!

This smells identical to Vanille from Outremer! It’s that same sugary warm cotton candy vanilla scent, super sweet and yummy smelling for sure.

Smells delicious! Exactly the same as Solinotes Vanille so will be great to layer and help Solinotes last longer.

A delicious vanilla. Warm and buttery. The orange is very mild. Excellent pure gourmand.

I was dying to try this once I discovered it. It sounds like everything I’ve ever wanted in a fragrance. Smelling it from the bottle I get pure buttercream frosting with maybe just the smallest amount of orange, I’m obsessed. On my skin however, it smells like Crest Kid’s Sparkle Fun toothpaste (which is very sweet and has no mint). Smells less like the toothpaste when it dries down and then starts to morph into a one-dimensional sugary scent. Being reminded of childhood memories with this toothpaste smell does throw me off a little bit, but that’s my own unfortunate experience. Also wish it lasted longer and projected more.

if you're looking for a perfume that smells like pure vanilla extract this is the one, sorry if you're looking for those extra notes but you can pretty much only smell vanilla and sugar. Personally I enjoy it but I could see why someone wouldn't. Unfortunately the longevity and sillage are both very weak, but it's amazing for layering and enhancing vanilla fragrances.

Yellow cake with buttercream frosting. Back in the 80’s, I used to have a Blow Kiss doll from the Strawberry Shortcake line named “Baby Angelcake” and this smells almost exactly like Baby Angelcake’s “kisses”. This layers really well with Choco Musk, Dark, Bake, Soft, Pink Sugar, Vanilla Potion, Vanilla Fields, Vanilla Musk and a lot of the Fantasy flankers.

SUPER buttery white sugar vanilla

I think this is OK, a little too "yellow cake with buttercream frosting" for me as I prefer more elegant vanillas that are less like baked goods. Thankfully it doesn't smell like a sickening condensed milk because those kinds of scents make me want to vomit. It might work well layering it with citrus and I will try that just to brighten it up. Still, it came as a part of a set of rollerball oils from TJ Maxx and the price was right at about $14.

I’ve seen this one get a lot of hate on social media. It’s ok. Pretty synthetic, but may work for layering with gourmands. I think people complaining are getting vanilla frosting in a can which can smell and taste pretty artificial. I prefer homemade vanilla frosting, personally. Honestly, a lot of cheap vanilla perfumes and body sprays have a similar vibe. Edit: Bad longevity too.

I slid from a five star love, to a four star like, and now I’m down to three stars. The longer I’ve worn this, the less I seem to enjoy it. The butter just doesn’t sit well on my skin, it turns somewhat sour and now I just want to use it up and move on. Could be that it performs better in warm weather as now it’s winter, but I am just so over the scent.

I took several whiffs of this one from my local Tj maxx. It’s meh. Hs some sorta saliva-ish smell to it. As to why I’m not impressed. Not a vanilla for me. And I love vanilla fragrances.

Where’s the orange this is just vanilla extract🤨 Added bonus of triggering nausea after 1 spray 20 minutes later. Mind you I don’t get sensitivity, dizzy, or nauseated with fragrances.

I got none of the sweet cake goodness, instead it smelled like a note was missing (suede?) and I lost all of the sugary notes listed

Smells like regular store bought vanilla extract used in cakes and syrups etc. It’s ok but not spectacular, to my nose.

Do the different bottle styles have different formulas? I picked this up at TJ Maxx after hearing a lot of hype. The bottle i have has a large wooden cap not the dropper or the smaller cap in the product pic on Fragrantica. The smells so bad. Oily cheap barely there vanilla with a sour butter note. No cake or any gourmand quality. It smells like it's gone bad. Luckily there is zero longevity. I tested it on my wrist as soon as I got to my car and it dissipated by the time I drove home

i love very sweet smelling perfumes, but this one is a little too sweet for my personal tastes. you definitely get exactly the notes that are listed with vanilla and butter, with little depth or progression. this would be best to layer with other sweet vanilla gourmands to extend the longevity, or add a touch of sweetness with layering fragrances

I love most of their oils but for some reason this and Vanilla Musk smell sour to me. I tested different bottles at different stores. Same thing. Scrubber for sure. I love every other vanilla this house has!

This is a straight-up buttery vanilla sugar cookie scent. It has a nice aroma, but I don’t want to smell like this. It definitely gives off a candle vibe.

Not a fan of the butter note in this. The perfume almost has a slight mintiness to it that I wasn't expecting.

When i first sniffed the roller ball i got the butter note. It was a bit strange but I'm kind of new to Gourmand scents. I tried it and it smells like buttery pound cake. Not bad at all, wish it had more vanilla in it. I've been experimenting with layering under spray on perfume so we'll see how that goes, and if it improves longevity of perfumes that are on the weaker side. I'm also new to layering. Anyways, if you love the smell of cake this is a decent one.

I like this perfume oil. It isn’t quite as strong or long lasting as others I’ve tried from this brand, but it’s still worth getting as it’s so affordable, especially if you find it at Marshall’s. It starts out buttery vanilla and in a short while it turns to cotton candy vanilla, quite similar to outremer vanilla. I like to wear this with Outremer layered with Blanche Bete ( I blind bought BB and wished it were sweeter and more gourmand/ vanilla.)

I rushed into Marshall's looking for Bijou Creme Brulee that was getting hype online(it sucked) . However, after trying a few frags w pistachio, I came across this one. A guy passing by said it smelled good too. The butter note is a strong one, and I've been looking for one on the back end! Its vanilla and smells like real butter, not cloying at all, going to later this one in to perfumes for sure. Couple hrs later I can kinda smell it too.

I finally found it- my perfect vanilla. Not the basic, vanilla extract type but the incredibly delicious vanilla ice cream type with spun sugar! This is pure heaven for me. I can see the buttercream frosting reference but mind you, the butter is very subtle. To my nose, it’s more like vanilla ice cream with a little bit of cotton candy. It makes me think of Baskin Robbins cotton candy ice cream.

Based on the reviews, I thought this perfume would be gorgeous, but unfortunately, it was absolutely sickening. I picked up the rollerball in winners and when I smelled it, I genuinely felt nauseous. I don't know if I got a bad batch or something, but the one I had smelled like overly-sweet, disgusting spoiled milk. I'd recommend vanilla musk for them (dupe for nest's Madagascar vanilla)

have the travel size of this. i think this is a "true vanilla" scent. don't get any of the orange really. does smell like a yellow cake on the opening as the other reviews say. a little bit buttery too. otherwise, simple and straightforward pleasant vanilla scent with no floral or citrus mixed in.
