Bizzarria Santa Maria Novella (First Impression on July 28, 2024) I think Bizzarria is fruitful production from legacy Santa Maria Novella, the new EDP range. This is new release. I like the fact Bizzaria is not craft to perfection like the other - L'iris, Magnolia or Gelsomino. Which craft to perfection with overly precision. Bizzarria smell like fresh Neroli, later on develop to kaffir lime. The tart citrus fruit with bitter aromatic oil from south east Asia culture. Fresh and Sunny, like a yellow bottle this brings image of Portofino (Under the Tuscan Sun, 2003) on soft musky-woody end. Due to it tartness, It is linger on my skin quite long time. Even when all the citrus is gone, as I know my skin. My skin consume all the citrus very fast. This blend does lure my nose to think that it keeps fresh and tart, on and on. I like it, Probably my most favorite from the EDP line. Which I would still 100% insist that the rest are most beautiful craft floral creations. It just ain't for me ------ Update 1 on February 13, 2025 REVIEW I recently bring out Bizzaria to refresh my certain throught about this. And I find this is fairly a beautiful take on the Hespidic tone scent. It kind of encapsulte and retake how we could define citrus cologne. Late citrus cologne in this modern day, more focusing on other element than actual hespidic quality underlying, but Bizzaria apart from rounding a perfect element between Citrus bergamot tone with Orange Blossom / Neroli quality. It use the same old trick that have been using in old hespidic fragrance. The fresh chypre. Fresh Chypre, in the old day. using combination between Bergamot, Oakmoss and Labdanum; fool the nose thinking that Citrus quality is ongoing. But it is, actually. The Balsumic quality of Labdanum instead. Before it ending with oakmoss that feel like an old powder scent. This trick has been repeatedly using from 1950 - 1970. At this moment, I do not think we have Fresh Chpyre left in the market. But, Bizzaria is kind of using that trick to fool the nose. Thinking that Labdanum quality is on-going. Bizaaria ending with Soft Musk instead of original Oakmoss feeel. I personally interpretted this as innovative. And thinking about How Bizzaria can beautiful rendered. The beautiful combination between Tart, Textured peel. Sharp Bergamot and Floral-Citrus quality into one perfume. Before transit to sour balsumic note. I think this is really beautiful. I think I will revisit Bizzaria more in upcoming summer. And if there is a point I can mention, I wish it is slightly more tangy than this. Like, slightly stronger dose of Vitamin C. But consider how Bizzaria can feel *Citrus* for a good 2-3 hours before Transit to floral / balsumic / sheer musk that stay on skin for more than 7-8 hours. I think this is really good fragrance already. It is really high-qaultity cologne type scent... END OF ASSETMENT.

I’m deeply humbled to have discovered this wonderful brand. I’ve never seen anything like it. The number of soulless companies is large. From imagery to packaging to the shipping and customer experience this brand excels by far. Bizzarria starts off strong and bright. It radiates and makes me happy instantly. I’m a huge fan of florals, citruses and Bizzarria is of the highest quality imaginable. The citrusy introduction is so joyful it’s hard to beat. There is no funkiness during the day and you keep smelling your wrist when it becomes a skin scent after a while. If this all sounds a little over the top, imagine someone with well over a hundred fragrances to choose from learning about this company, history and quality. It’s a great journey and with high pleasure that I’m recommending everyone to give it a try. Thank me later.

They said: you turn 40, you’ll start getting up early. Nothing like that happened and I still love to sleep till someone’s late late lunch and they know s**t 🤪 Until now. I tried Bizzarria and suddenly I want to get up early every morning to feel this scent and this energy. To feel it changes on my skin with such a grace. And still being a little secret to me. Bizzarria is not just another lemony freshie. She's bitter. She has some creaminess. She is not so clear cut. Someone tell me what she's like? 50ml is not enough, I need 100! P. S. Longevity is not so impressive.

I'm in love at first sniff too like what @impressionistg said. Bought a discovery set from SMN and got this as one of the free samples. A super spicy, tangy, juicy, green, fresh, blend of citrus! I never found citrus like this before. Truly bizarre! It's bitter, yet juicy, yet powdery! Have you ever wanna eat the whole lemon tree? This is the time for it. Tasty!

I tried this in Florence in Santa Maria Novella shop (btw, if you have a chance to visit Florence go and visit Santa Maria Novella vintage store). I fell in love with Bizzarria after the first sniff. Of course, I bought it, it was such a great experience! Now Bizzarria reminds me of my favorite city in the world - Florence.

Oh lovely! Fresh natural-smelling citrus. Lots of lemon oil and orange bigarade. Cool, unfloral neroli and sharpening timur. Perhaps petitgrain too, it’s quite green-tinged, over airy wood and musk. Very well-made. Perfect for my early summer evening. Bravo!

Lovely citrus scent, not overly harsh or acidic. Agree with other reviews though that it is way overpriced for what it is. This is an Eau de Parfum and is priced accordingly, but has the longevity and performance of an Eau de Cologne.

This is definitely an oddity, but in a nice way. It’s a spicy orange but in a fresh way that makes it almost like a lemon.

Bizzaria is an entire orange tree reimagined, even its blossom transformed from the heavy sweetness and indole often associated with the flower into something bracing, free, shimmering. Primarily though it opens with an exhilarating fruit burst, as if all citrus of the world have collided with the delicate white blossoms of spring, zesty and peppered with minerals. There’s a subtle warmth to it, but it’s never too sweet, never too soft. Instead, it cuts through with a fresh, almost gourmand-ish spiced clarity, like the bite of a cold breeze against sauna-warmed skin, the bitter stiffness of citrus skin giving way to the sharp tang of orange pulp when you pierce into the fruit. A green, peppery leafy twist adds a fiesta verdant complexity, keeping it from being predictable, keeping it from veering into the overly floral. A fragrance that feels sharp, yet inviting, zesty yet elegant—like standing in the midst of orange groves during an early morning fog, where the air is both alive with freshness and tinged with something deeper, pretty yet scattered with raw, ugly elements of nature. Bizarre indeed—the unexpected freshness that captivates, a challenge reframed into an invitation, not to be rushed but savored, never cloying, always enticing.

My go-to used to be Spring 23 by Ffern which is a seasonal perfume they produce in batches only one time, and it had a very nice zesty ginger in it that I loved. This smells nearly identical, with a decent sillage for a citrus fragrance and also lasts 2 hours for me which is fine, considering that citrus freshies don't last long. I ordered a bottle and it will be a worthwhile staple in my collection. When I sampled this 2 years ago, the extremely sour fruit accords were not so pleasant to me. But returning to now, this is the perfect fresh green citrus for summer that I've been looking for. I caught whiffs of a very luscious fruity scent and I kept asking - what is that? Oh it's Bizzarria.

This is lovely for summer. It smells like an aromatic orange tree- the entire tree- oranges, flowers, leaves, woods. It's a bit aromatic and slightly green in the opening, dying down to a soapy citrus; completely unisex. This is similar to Diptyque Eau de Sens or Fleur de Oranger by Obvious Parfums. I don't get any resemblance to Fior di Chinotto, which is a lovely fragrance, but a more honeyed orange blossom that lacks the woody aromatic facets in Bizzarria. Although this is not anything unique, it's well done. A very strong like for me!

Bizzarria by Santa Maria Novella is an average citrus fragrance. The name is a bit misleading because there's really nothing bizarre about this fragrance. It's a simple citrus scent with notes of bitter orange, lemon, bergamot, ginger, cedarwood, and musk. It's pleasant enough, but nothing particularly special or memorable. The sillage is very low and the performance isn't great either, so to me this is strictly an indoor scent. It is perfect if you just want to smell fresh without anyone else really noticing. I rate it 7/10.

This is a wonderful citrus that starts off bitter, with the strength of the neroli, but evolves into a sweeter base. Citrus and musk together can be hit or miss. This is a hit. Citrus scents as a rule don't last very long, so don't expect longevity - but it is very more-ish. Love.

It’s nice. Very wearable scent. Lovely musky sweet candy-like lemon. But I feel it’s lacking an edge; a more prominent bitter/sour/spicy/herbal note is needed to balance out the lemonhead accord that’s going on. It’s quite refreshing, just a little too linear for my taste.

This perfume is Italy in a bottle, doesn't try too hard, yet it's fresh, pleasant, natural somehow. The longevity is not long, but the package is beautiful. For someone who likes Light Blue for example and is looking for special citrus, this is the one.

This is 160 euros for a 50 ml bottle but there is a note in it that reminds me of rotting oranges. For a similar green orange I bought Chinotto by Tuttotonto and Perris Monte Carlo’s Mandarino di Sicilia is also perfectly fresh and perfect for summer

The fruit might be bizarre, but the scent is mild and ordinary, citrus that leans lemon then orange. The base is light and doesn't overtake the citrus. A utilitarian, anytime fragrance.

It reminded me tomato leaves, garden. Same as Jil Sander “Leaf”.

This is a very pretty scent and like all SMN fragrances it opens note by note like a the numbers in a little cabaret show or if you feel really impressed by one, a grand ballet. I'm not a fan of the new range though, I prefer the classics by this lovely house. It has a citrus opening and turns into a lovely honeyed grape like fruit mix that warms down. I'm not a fan of musk at all but I can handle it in this i suppose. It reminds me of a soft drink from years ago that was grape flavour. The musk has a soapiness attached to it. I really like the heart of this fragrance better then the base and beginning.

when i first sprayed this it felt like somebody squirted a grapefruit into my eyes haha. But after the initial citrus panic, theres more citrus panic but this time calmer. haha im good but im sure this would smell lovely inside a store or cafe somewhere.. a room spray perhaps?

A nice citrus scent that lasted only a few hours on skin and over twenty four hours on clothing. Nice but nothing to write home about despite the beautiful packaging and ultra steep price. Try it before buying and that’s only if you really think it’s worth the price tag.

Bizarre? Not so much. This is orange blossom mixed with lemon and orange with a splash of neroli thrown in. Absolutely nothing special here. Has a nice tree bark aspect to it, but there are definitely better citruses out there. Pleasant!

Doesn't last very long on my wrist and I actually prefer this in their other products rather than as a perfume - such as a hand cream or shower gel. Why? Because it's a generic clean citrus.

A citrus fragrance like many others, good but not very unique.

too light even for an eau de toilette concentration, let alone eau de parfum. had very mild projection in the first 30 minutes, quickly became a skin scent ~1.5 hours later, after 3 hours i can't even smell it on my skin. applied it after taking a shower, oversprayed it as well – long story short, performance sucks. the scent itself isn't that impressive either, at least not for a $240 fragrance (the price to performance ratio of this fragrance is probably the reason why it was named this way – quite bizarre indeed). bizzarria is mediocre at best, i am quite disappointed. the presentation is luxurious, though, i really liked the packaging

I love the scent of this fragrance even though it's not very complicated. Its mostly citrus and green not much else. Really missing the musk and cedar. However it is very very very very overpriced for the performance more like a colone. I think there are other much better performer's considering the price. I will not buy it again.

Bizzarria is inspired by a rare citrus tree - a bitter orange grafted to (not hybridized with) a citron. Bizzarria is a beautiful citrus fragrance that seems to rotate through all of the citrus smells: lemon, grapefruit, bergamot, orange... It has been accented beautifully by some unique notes - orange blossom, a spicy clean ginger, timur pepper, and davana, which I thought was like cypriol but turns out to be more like wormwood. Before checking the notes, I thought I was smelling something like rosemary with piney and rosey aromatic facets. I also imagined the smell of the Italian citrus Chinotto. The whole effect is one of cooling, spicy, slightly bitter greeness. Bizzarria rests on a base of soapy musk and cedar. Doesn't blow my socks off, but I really enjoyed wearing this one this morning.

Reminds of freshness after shower and applying immediately nice and refreshing citrus fragrance. This citrus however isn’t annoying or sharp, it’s nice and pleasant.

performance is disappointing, but it's such a unique citrus scent and the spiciness takes it to another level! hands down 10/10.
