Instant love. Where do I even begin? The magnolia here is beautifully done...soft, feminine, and true to life. It strikes a beautiful balance: slightly powdery, gently soapy, delicately sweet. Nothing is overdone. It smells like springtime in full bloom. After a few minutes, a lovely green note begins to emerge, adding depth and freshness, like the unfolding of real magnolia petals. This scent feels like it belongs to a character like Daphne Bridgerton. Someone graceful. It’s elegant, romantic, and innocent. It’s refined yet approachable, and I honestly can't imagine anyone disliking it. This is easily my favourite from Santa Maria Novella’s collection, and I already like quite a few from the house. I’ll be adding a full bottle to my wishlist. If you’re a magnolia lover, or just searching for a scent that captures the softness of spring, I’d say this is a safe blind buy.

I am standing in my Granny's backyard on a sunny day in Austin Texas. I just got done playing with my cousins in her screened in porch and she is showing me the most beautiful tree I have ever seen, pointing up at enormous flowers that are bigger than my head. I lean in and smell them. Magnolia. I felt like crying the first time I smelled this as it transported me back to my childhood. I can hear the mourning doves outside her window and I can see her collection of antiques surrounding me from her world travels. My senses overwhelmed while also at peace. This is such a realistic expression of a Magnolia tree. As nostalgic as it is for me it feels so fresh and put together now that I am a woman. This was an instant purchase for me and my green thumb husband fell in love as well.

This is a surprisingly fantastic fragrance! I picked it up because it smelled nice at the boutique but I didn't think I would be wowed by it as much as I am. After wearing it regularly I realize it not only smells "nice" but it is delicate and realistic with gorgeous layers. It also lasts a super long time on clothing and has garnered me compliments which I didn't expect. It definitely gives you a feeling close to that of a real magnolia, with some rose nuances lingering under the surface. It manages to be both delicate and powerful at the same time- a concentrated hit of airy floral sweetness. I already want a back up bottle!

Holy magnolia! This is the most elegant, clean, effervescent scent! It smells like white sheets and green stems and magnolia blossom. It’s like waking up in a lush garden in a starch white dress, but you don’t quite know how you got there. A truly beautiful floral.

This is magnolia brought to life—pure, lush, and breathtakingly (scarily) realistic. From the first inhale, you get transported to a garden of white petals and vibrant green leaves, the air tinged with freshness yet grounded by a subtle warmth. This warmth isn't from the sun, no, but from the earth itself, with a faint bitterness that feels like the soul of the soil, grounding the ethereal sweetness. As the bloom deepens, though, the magnolia steps back, and jasmine emerges as the star of the show. The clarity of the opening fades, replaced by a more familiar opulence, though the magnolia can still be looked for in shadow. The hide-and-seek drydown truly allows the memory of those first moments to linger—pure, fresh, and achingly alive—a fleeting glimpse of nature’s poetry.

So this is an interesting one. I tried it first in NYC when I was on a visit. I knew I loved it the moment I tried it but decided to walk away. Long story short, I went back and grabbed it 3 hours later. This is not a high projection perfume. It’s perfect for the summer because it becomes your skin scent as opposed to giving you a unique scent. It’s lovely and refreshing and you will want to smell yourself every few minutes. The longevity is quite good (not the greatest for its price point though). But if you pair it with another perfume, it will last you the whole day. Highly recommend it as a summer perfume!

Beautifully constructed, but you need to get past the initial blast. Too much rose and champaca for my taste, but it is definitely a luxurious perfume whose true seriousness shines after half an hour. Its green notes are balanced very well with the base notes which hold down the rose justenough. Overall, the combination works to give depth to the top white flower notes. It simply grows on you as it keeps evolving over time. Maybe the bottle itself will allow for this with due maceration, will wait and see. The presentation is fantastic and this is yet another plus.

If you are going to Europe, especially Italy, this is the perfume to look out for. I was debating between this one and Aqua, but Magnolia won me over for it leaning slightly more feminine. It's giving a rich italian woman in kitten heels and a floral dress walking around a cobblestone street while magnolia trees are around. When worn in europe it blends nicely with the smells in the environment and makes you smell clean and fresh. Super pretty!

Pleasant fruity floral. It’s sweet and light, very springtime appropriate. The magnolia and white rose are the most dominant notes. There’s a slight muskiness to it as well. Light to moderate longevity and projection. Could see it as being a safe gift or office perfume. But nothing to write home about.

It's not listed here or on the website but i swear there's a strong apple in this. The Santa Maria Novella website describes it as a "fruity ambery floral" despite no fruit notes being listed. I'm placing my bet on apple. A huge disappointment for me, a horrible surprise. But people who like fruity florals could enjoy this, especially if you like classic vintage fragrances, as that's part of Santa Maria Novella's DNA.

a very realistic magnolia and white rose scent, feels like you’re sniffing the actual flowers and at some points you can even smell that green stem, might be the geranium causing this. it’s actually kind of crazy how realistic it is, longevity 5 hours on my skin and pretty much a skin scent but i still feel like it’s kind of a heavy fragrance besides its projection. it’s not for me but it’s pretty

Too simple and almost imperceptible especially for its price. Just one more ordinary quite pleasant musky floral perfume. Nothing special and nothing to remind about classic stylish elegant recognisable SMN colognes. The product does not meet the stated manufacturer EDP concentration. Disappointment.

What a disappointment. Fortunately, purchased a sample rather than a full-size. I live in a city where Magnolia Grandifloras are everywhere. In fact, we have a one in our garden that is almost 100 yrs old. It is one of my most favorite scents ever. Sadly, this fragrance does not come close to the genuine scent. This is very synthetic, compared to the real thing, and totally lacks the subtle, yet very obvious lemon scent that true Grandifloras exhibit. This is much too sweet and cloying without the lemony aspect that is essential in a true Grandiflora scent. A big pass.....

I have two samples from Santa Maria Novella's I Giardini Medicei collection (aka, the Eau de Parfum collection.) I was VERY impressed by the first, Gelsomino, and this second one, Magnolia, is also pleasing. There's nothing groundbreaking about Magnolia. It is a simple but very pretty bouquet of magnolia blossoms with roses. Like in Gelsomino, there is a definite greenness to this bouquet, and a good bit of lemony citrus at the top. SMN says the white petals of the magnolia grandiflora appear "sugared" in this creation, and they do have a delicate, crystalline sweetness that is very charming. There is also a soapy character that feels quite Italian and classic. Magnolia differs from Gelsomino in that it is much denser and louder, in part due to a heavy dose of white musk. It also leans much more feminine than Gelsomino, and the transparent mauve-pink of the bottle is a good indication of how the fragrance smells. Though it's not for me, I enjoyed taking my morning walk today in the pillowy scent of Magnolia. Prices are high on the EDP collection from Santa Maria Novella ($275 for 100ml). But I am now eager to try more from the house!

This is a new purchase for me and I've been wearing it for three days. I meant to buy Gelsomino but grabbed this one instead by mistake. It has a prickly zestiness that I'm not fond of. Almost peppery. It reminds me of that scratchy akigalawood note in the original Miu Miu. It's OK and I'll wear it anyway but I won't repurchase it. I like the Magnolia fluid cream though. It's much smoother. That'll be my next purchase from this brand.

Unique, there's nothing like this. A realistic perfume inspired by a colorful flower bouquet. Pros: There's a beautiful White Rose note not mentioned in the pyramid.

Citrus, rose, and a green stem. So fresh. Next time I visit Florence, I would love to wear this there.
