Palindrome I

Palindrome 1 is a fantastic fragrance, luxurious, citrusy, yet warm, it’s a winter citrus with a warm base and light sweetness. The notes are sicilian mandarin, italian lemon, cacao pod, incense, opoponax, tolu balsam, ambrette (musk mallow), labdanum, tonka bean and sandalwood. I find it linear, but in a way that reflects the name which means the same forward and backwards such as words that are spelled the same when letters are reversed. It’s sturdy and doesn’t alter, crowd pleaser yet interesting, and certainly not boring. This is a fragrance that will have strangers telling you that you smell good. I find it has a slight masculine feel but still unisex, and could see it being worn for many occasions as it manages to be date night worthy yet professional. I’m comfortable wearing it myself, in the same way as something like LIDGE. For those who like something more offbeat or unusual in a fragrance, you may prefer Palindrome II and you may consider this one a tad “safe” by niche standards but it’s hard to deny it smells good. By anyone. It’s like that. It flat out smells fantastic. I find it rich and warm but with a perfect touch of citrus that makes it more well rounded and workable in any season. This is a hype worthy fragrance and I feel if enough people tried this, it would be heavily talked about. It’s a really good niche crowd pleasing and head turning scent. I’m baffled as to why this brand, and particularly this particular fragrance, isn’t talked about more. I consider it s 5/5.

A suede-like amber that mellows into beautiful resins and wood. This is civilized, European sex in a bottle; not loud, brash, or obnoxious, but subtle, sophisticated, and sensual.

A natural and luxurious Amber perfume. Woody and resinous and a lovely lemon top note. If you like Shalimar, Grand Soir Kourkdjian, Le Lion de Chanel, try this one. Lovely!

This is a specific point of reference. If you can remember way back when Victoria's Secret was more innovative with their perfumes there was the Secret numbers line. Secret because apparently they didn't reveal the notes. It was 33 Sensuality, 55 Flirtation, 66 Romance, 77 Magnetism, and 88 Temptation. When I first smelled this I was like this is one of those but smoother. I think it's 88 because on Basenotes it gives (guesses) notes of vanilla, spices, amber, patchouli, and musk. Palindrome I is a highbrow 88 and 88 wasn't anything to sneeze at. It was the standout of the line to me because it was so different from the others. Well, that's it. Don't know if it was helpful but god, it takes me back to some carefree times as a teenager. Glad this in my collection. Update: It's so sensual and smooth.Try it if you are wanting something different but not too challenging. This is an incredible fragrance, imo.

Its a very comforting fragrance, not intrusive nor obnoxious either, rater sexy, calm, and inviting, people will definitely ask you what you are wearing, no bs, the only downside is that I wish that the top of the pyramid would have lasted longer, gone in a couple of minutes, other than that I can really talk really high of it, I wouldn't make or do any justice to the quality of this perfume with my simple words😕

Dark, resinous, & balsamic... Very interesting take on opoponax X Balsam.. It has quite dark notes mingled together to form this robust balanced blend. It has an obvious opoponax, balsam, resin, oily lapdanum, oily sandalwood, a touch of lemon, & hints of chocolate. Actually, it's been a while since i tried Santi's blends, this one is quite impressive indeed.

I normally love a good balsamic resinous scent, but the lemon in this one completely ruins it for me. Its sourness in the background makes me nauseous.

The scent is good, but similar to 100 other dry Ambers I have smelt and several that I own. It lacks sweetness and comes off quite dry. I had a full bottle and sold it. When I’m in the mood for a dry Amber I’m reaching for Amber Absolute by Tom Ford or Mitzah by Christian Dior and this one was just not getting any use. If those two are out of reach, I would be looking at Tauers Au Couer du Desert as a superior dry Amber and likely found at a better price.

A very comforting scent, like opening a big wooden closet on warm summers day, a kind of Mediterranean breeze enters the room through the opened window and mingles with the incense and the wood and TONKA! A very warm and enveloping scent. After testing Palindrome II I think of Palindrome I as a white collar civilised gentle patchouli, and Palindrome II as a blue collar industrial challenging patchouli.

key words: citrusy, lemon more than mandarin, sweet, flory, tasty, young, amber sweet Compared with palindrome II, I is more fresh, younger, lighter, brighter and more unisex. I like the beginning citrusy scent gives so many energy that it doesn ́t smell as heavy as II. Both are quite good for winter. As a funny guy, I personally prefer I than II but I would like to have a boyfriend that wears II.
