Greek Keys

Since we've finally had something like decent weather, I've been dragging out the freshies and revisiting them. This was actually one of the first Sarah Baker juices I smelled and I had forgotten how brilliant it is. It's like sailing around a rocky outcrop and turning into a secluded cove off Mykonos or the Amalfi Coast. As you cut into this sheltered bay, the gentle breeze carries down the heady aroma of citrus fruit groves and sun-drenched Mediterranean gardens from luxurious villas perched on the cliffs above. But, all of this is filtered through the fresh smell of the sea as you kick back on the deck or decide to take a plunge into crystal clear waters. But, that night, as you enjoy a spritz (of the Aperol not fragrance variety) before dinner or linger over a glass of perfectly chilled white wine, that smell of sea and citrus groves still lingers on your skin because, frankly, this is a very long lasting juice. It's also one that I think very few people would not accept as unisex. Another thing that's really important to note is that while the citrus and aquatic notes are prominent, this is actually a far more complex "freshie" than others out there. Those woody and herbal ingredients melding with carefully selected florals pitched at exactly the right "presence" give it layered depth and the ability to shape-shift in a way others don't. If you're allowed to take only one fragrance on a summer holiday, this is the perfect choice because it really has the range and gravitas to move effortlessly from a casual day in the dunes to hitting stylish cocktail terraces in the evening.

Ok, this is my fave. Very much unisex. It manages to smell of sunshine. It has both a warmth but also a freshness. I guess that doesn't really make much sense. It definitely has a touch of the aquatic about it. I'm looking at you ambroxan. There is freshness from the citrus notes, warm woody notes and that touch of the herbal from the vetiver and sun warmed rosemary. Greek keys is a very apt name. With time this scent seems to get more musky on me. I suspect it's the synthetics creating that illusion. I'm glad the green and wood notes hang in there to the end. I wouldn't like it any muskier. Good longevity and sillage.

This smells like Jennifer Coolidge partying in Sicily with a ton of rich gays who may or may not be trying to kill her. In the best way possible. This is a wonderfully lovely and bright citrus marine scent. I feel like I can almost smell the sunshine, that’s how bright this is.

I have tried this perfume in a sample. This perfume has an average intensity the first two hours and then lowered to smooth average. It lasts about 7 hours, but could continue noticing the ozone note on my skin, although other notes very blurred. As soon as we put on the perfume, we feel an extremely fresh aroma through its citrus notes, the union of the ozone note to the citrus fruits makes you feel a clean fresh aroma. After half an hour, the presence of citrus aromas falls and we find the woody aromas of oak moss, the resin of elimination ... but I always feel that the ozone note is present, it always reminds me of that of an environment very clean. It is a perfectly unisex perfume. Not a perfume complicated for my rubber very well, but I caution when recommending it, I think the ozónica notes or calone are aromas that some people really like and others nothing, and least to understand this perfume must Know and know how to appreciate those aromas. As a final conclusion, I feel it as a versatile perfume within the niche perfumery, for me it is easy to use and very interesting aromas

I adore Greek Keys, and own the special edition Parfum miniature. Here in extrait, I think it works even better. You can feel the golden sun flickering off the blue azure Mediterranean Sea, all fresh and ozonic. I particularly like the oakmoss as it gives off more of a myrtle like seaweediness. A sparkling, aquatic fougere. Makes me long for the Greeks islands I hold so dear.

for the first hour I thought “another stinky old gentleman scent” but then I started getting that sun soaked facets and kept spraying a few times more during the day. I bet in hot weather this one will project beautifully

Smells very similar to Energizer from Boadicea, although not as strong (but considerably cheaper). Lovely fresh summer scent.

I’m not sure why the smell of soap signals “holiday” to people, but in any case, seems like it does. This perfume smells of soap and synthetic chemicals at first spray. I don’t get much that is truly fresh here, it’s more an aggressively “fresh” detergent smell with a little bit of citrus wafting from someone’s freshly laundered clothes, and that someone is wearing a vanilla perfume. After a while it settles into a slightly woody, greenish perfume with a bit of a marine backbone. It’s more pleasant at this stage since the soap notes have calmed down almost completely. The Elemi and the citrus give it some tang. And there’s a sense of light florals weaving through all the other notes. If I didn’t find the initial stages of this so objectionable with its soap overload, I might almost like it.

I love the “Aegean Yacht” niche of scents (see the OG: D&G’s Light Blue) but unfortunately Greek Keys missed the mark for me. Maybe because I came in hoping for a Mamma Mia dance sequence and instead got a noseful of yacht captain. It is a sparkly marine scent and it lasts a good long while for a freshie, but all this is dwarfed by a strong aftershave cloud. I much prefer ELDO’s Sous le Pont Mirabeau for a sunnier, masc-toned ozone. Mental Snapshot: Mamma Mia, but overcast. The musical sequences are replaced by the men drinking G&Ts and talking about the woes of yacht upkeep. “The two happiest days in boat owner’s life are the day he buys it and the day he sells it.” Ha ha ha. tl;dr: yacht dad 🛥️👔

So far I have tried 4 Sarah Baker scents and all have been a fail--this one was no different. I didn't actively dislike it but it was not the kind of fresh oceanic scent I'd want--I have been gradually building evidence that chemical notes such as calone and ambroxan don't work for me--hedione is also suspect, from past experience. I can understand the positive comments I see from others but overall, this is not that enjoyable and it certainly didn't give me the longevity that some have raved about.

This would be fabulous if they would have balanced the ambroxin ( I think that what’s giving that strong sharp smell) down a few bits. I’m a nurse and it does remind me a bit of the surgery center with the strong disinfectant smell. After 40 mins it settles but the first 15-20 minutes are intense with that sharp smell.

Its ok. Nothing too exciting here. The addition of elemi gives an interesting contrast to the citrus-aquatic-herbal summery base. Its a tad too sweet on the base from the coumarin. Not worth the price tag. Oh, the accompanying booklet lists ‘crystal seawater’ as one of the notes. Wtf is that? I mean please.

Not he worst thing i've smelled. But it's overpoweringly synthetic and ozonic, and it get's worse as the citruses dies out. To the point where it's a little uncomfortable. The citrus notes are nice, and the flower notes are good. But it's all overshadowed by all the synthetics. If you like synthetic scents, and the people around you like synthetic scents, that's not a problem. But a Lot of people are going to find this unpleasant in an enclosed space. Personal score: 4/10. I do not like it. And if someone close to me wore it, I wouldn't like them either.

Nothing special, received as a sample. Much like Nishane Hacivat but not as good. Not bottle worthy for me.

Summertime madness. This is 2018 version of "I Found Heaven" by Take That in a bottle The "for him" labelled of 2018, sexy, sophisticated, charming, and naughty. Elemi, summer air breeze, vetiver, clean ocean, lemon, cedar, within an ozonic layer. Bubbly, sea soap, and masculine sweat. I believe this will be a hit when it given good marketing. Sarah Baker.... i am impressed with what you got on your mind!

Sarah Baker Greek Keys Creamy, watery perfume. Traveling to the depths of the sea introduces you to the fantastic feeling that before you Poseidon, the god of the sea and earthquakes, will create a calm sea and new islands. His palace on the ocean floor, made of coral and gems. That's a little because of the name of the perfume, a little because of the enticing scent of the beautiful mythology.

It’s that vacation your parents finally splurged on. The hotel pool was enormous. It had a slide. There was a DJ. You made friends with some cool, older kids. At noon the sunlight magically sparked on the water. At the time you don’t realize the memory of this trip smells just like Sarah Baker Greek Keys.
