Leopard

This is really good. Sometimes animalic notes work on me and sometimes they are just too much. The delicate balance between the patch, rose, cardamom and castoreum is perfect for me. I think perhaps the rose and cardamom a smidgen stronger than the other two main players. There is honey but it is pretty low key. This is not a very heavy or sweet scent. The vetiver adds a green leafy aspect. Very slowly I think the castoreum starts to dominate. It is only after a while that I can pick out any other floral notes. The cassia or blackcurrant leaf is now much more evident. I can't say it makes me think of leopards or their usual habitat. It makes me think back to when I was pruning my blackcurrant shrubs in the autumn. I do like it. It's a scent for sunny autumn days for me. It's a casual wear scent. Pretty much unisex.

This is quite a fun perfume! I get the BO reference within the first few minutes but after a while it goes away on my skin. Honestly, it made me giggle when I noticed it. Also, some of the reviewers must have some decent smelling BO. It definitely smells like body, but in the BEST way! I will sometimes nestle my nose in my husband’s armpits because they just smell so raw, human, and like HIM (not when it’s to the point of repulsion and begging for some soap and water). Ugh it drives me wild! I think this is a bit of an aphrodisiac and is an adventure in a bottle. To come up with something like this that is so out of the ordinary is genius. I’m definitely getting a bottle.

This perfume is a wild ride. Animalistic a bit sweet from the cassis which to me is very prominent. The first time I tried it I hated it. I have a 10 ML bottle and I put it back among my other samples for a year. This year I LOVE it. I think the animalistic notes can be weird - pretty sure that's what turned me off when I first tried. But now I find the perfume really is so fun and interesting. It's NOT linear but more of a shape shifter like rules of Attraction. Not blind buy safe by any means. If you are looking for a spicy wood with some serious twists give this a try but not if you can't stand sweet or animalistic notes. Pretty long lasting as well.

The notes that are listed lowest here are actually the strongest that make this fragrance unique and different, unlike any other cardamom rose fragrance. Sort of weird and lovely. This is a unique; honeyed animalic fragrance with some hidden light intricate rose with lots of herbal qualities; olibanum, black pepper, galbanum, patchouli, vetiver, cassis. In the top the quick rose and cardamom burns off as the herbal notes take over then the sweet honey rises and the fragrance gets fruitier. Underneath it all, castoreum is beating at the door and honey is trying to tame this beaver musk down. So wonderful. I must have a bottle.

“Leopard” by Sarah Baker is a perfume with so much character and authenticity. The use of cardamom here is sublime , it sort of gives a multidimensional realism to the rose, making it smell simultaneously dry, quite aromatic and slightly green as well , there’s a sense of mystery here that is hard to describe. The use of patchouli and sandalwood further enhance the beauty of the composition throughout the wearing while castoreum and beeswax accentuate the carnal sensuality and darkness of the formula.

I've always been drawn to the strange and out there fragrances. I bought this as an almost blind blind. I sprayed it sniffed and pulled the trigger. To me it's not as disgusting as some of the descriptions on here suggest. I smell an orange zestiness on the top, and yes, as it dries down you do get some animalistic notes - but more of a subtle blurry image of a barnyard, not a nose full of peepeepoopoo. It works well on my skin and is weird and fun. A win in my book!

Leopard! Wow wow wow!! This fragrance is so interesting and sexy. A friend complained that it actually smells postcoital, but I have to admit, that's exactly what I love about it. It's hot. It's adult. It's feral and wild. It makes me want to...

I love this - it’s bright and cheerful. This is the most realistic blackcurrant smell I’ve ever tried: juicy berries and green leaves, mouthwatering! And this note lingers for a while, which I love.

Hmmm... honey animalic cardamom roses. This is not normal, it's quite extraordinary! She wrote: "Join us for an exciting chauffeur-driven night on the town. Tight pants, short skirts, spilled drinks, smudged lipstick, dancefloors and profanity. This fragrance is not for children" I don't see that! i see a a leopard wearing a rose perfume in an Arabian tent in the desert! i sense the animalic note, the spices of dry cardamom, honey dew, fresh mango, wool walls, and the toxic breeze of the dry dessert at night with lighted torches. It's a scene in a bottle. To be hones, i didn't expect this to be anything like what i've sniffed! it's just an art in a bottle! i'm shocked and quite impressed. Bravo.

For me this is not a photorealistic gentle rose, like the one in the Diptyque composition or MFK a la rose perfume, but rather a very "dirty", earthy and slightly sexy rose. The patchouli and cardamom make it slightly soapy and green, and add a semi-sweet accord. The castoreum note is, in my opinion, responsible for that sweaty and animalic feeling. I did love the fragrance, as it's a true masterpiece, but I do not see myself wearing it much. I prefer to have realisic roses, or dramatic roses like Oud Satin Mood by MFK or Hypnotizing Fire by Harmonist. I also like dark roses (like the Le Labo one or even the one by Byredo), but this rose comes out as too animalic for me and too polarizing.

I must confess that this is not my favourite perfume from the Sarah Baker collection. However It has something which is sexy and attractive for me. Leaving aside the notes I would describe It as an animalic and honeyed grapefruit and incense scent. It smells a bit like the typical honey & Lemon candies that my grandmother has always at home when I was a child. Although It is an extrait the parfum, is softer and lighter than other Baker perfumes like Loudo or Jungle Jezebel. Scent: 8 Longevity: 8 Sillage: 6 Versatility: 8 Originality: 9 Global: 8

Shadowy, husky-voiced patchouli. Very film noir, very rockabilly. Quintessential femme fatale scent. If Gold Spot is the Bond Girl, Leopard is the villainess. She opens prickly and spicy, but the dry down reveals a dulcet honeyed rose. The effect of sweetness swaying behind shadow – a flame-red flower snarled in deepest jungle – is marvellous, even though I can’t claim to have any fondness for patchouli or animalics. I’m very sensitive to animal notes, but fortunately didn’t catch much beyond a dank, leathery musk. (Compared to Riders, which delivered the whole Thoroughbred). Lasts all night on skin and is not shy about it, either. A fragrance I’d file under: wouldn’t trust in my house, but would love to catch in the wild. If this is your daily frag, I want to know how many heads of state you’ve stepped upon in stilettos. Mental Snapshot: The huntress admires the jewels of her trophy room. Siberian tiger. Sumatran tiger. Polar bear. She reclines on a pelt of pelt of rarest jaguar, basking beside the roaring hearth. Bull elephant. Black panther. British spy. “Not now, kitten whiskers,” She scolds him for rattling his bonds. “Daddy will discuss it later.” tl;dr: for dangerous dames 🐆⛓️

Leopard is a challenging yet intriguing fragrance, embodying a complex interplay of green leaves, florals, spices, and a bold animalic musk. It strikes a fine balance between sophistication and raw intensity, making it a scent that demands attention. However, the dry down takes a harsher turn, which may not appeal to everyone. Despite this, its uniqueness keeps it compelling, and among Sarah Baker’s creations, this remains a personal favorite. With average longevity and projection, Leopard is a fragrance best suited for those who appreciate bold, statement-making compositions. Rating: 3/5

There is a Spanish expression for someone who's really lucky: "Trae la flor en el culo." It literally translates to "having a flower up your ass". That's what this smells like, take it or leave it.

Old dusty toys in an attic, the cat's been pissing on them for years, and you can smell the BO wafting from your armpits as you're cleaning it all out.

Challenging. For whatever reason I just get a huge dose of castoreum cat pee type note with some vetiver and patchouli in the background. Its nasty on me - not in a chemically, artificial way but just as an intensely animalic which I’m normally fine with but here it just doesn’t work. It may, however, on someone else emphasise another aspect and I can see how it could be interesting and unusual. I applaud it for being different.

Unfortunately to me the drydown smells like sweat, very stinky sweat 🤢

After an hour the cardamom dissipates, the patchouli softens, in comes a dry, withered rose, and a leathery, animalic castoreum, the rose is mild, the castoreum is strong. After five hours the patchouli and castoreum dissipate, the rose softens, in comes a sensual, animalic beeswax, and an amber tinged, leathery labdanum, the beeswax and labdanum are mild. Leopard is a very strong floral, animalic a touch of woodiness and dirtiness, sweet undertones, exotic, unisex, it leans more masculine earthy floral fragrance This would be fantastic in the Fall and Winter, I get average projection and average longevity, this is a wonderful cold weather fragrance, from Sarah Baker 4/5 Stars. This is different. There's a top note that I'm assuming is cassis that smells skunky and green. The dry down smells like not too fresh arm pit supplemented with deodorant. I'm thinking that's the rose and castoreum. Not exactly something I'd wear on date night, but it's interesting enough to sniff my way through.

Easily my favourite from Sarah Baker’s extrait collection. Props to Ashley Eden Kessler. To me the opening smells like a heady night out in the richest, trendiest areas of London. Resins and cardamom meld in the top, lifted by a spicy black pepper. The mid is all about the cassis and patch. Love this one.
