Born Lovely

Alright so. I received this yesterday. I sprayed it immediately and again this morning so this is my second wear. So I'm gonna put my two cents in on this one. First of all...I must say that although I love the scent, it's way overpriced. I understand that even a celebrity scent can be expensive...well over 50 dollars in most cases but that's normally only when they're NEW. This came out exactly two years ago this month. So I'm not quite sure why the Eau De Parfum bottles are so rare and the 3.4oz bottles you CAN find are $70-$80. I saw a listing on Ebay for only $35 and it included the body lotion, the huge 8oz body mist, and a full roller ball so I had to snatch it up since I've been eyeing this perfume since it's release. That being said...I still really like the scent. It's beautiful. My Mother (who is extremely picky with perfumes...) literally LOVED this one as well from the moment I sprayed it on her last night also. She's NOT into the super sweet perfumes whatsoever which I love sometimes so she dislikes a good portion of perfumes that I buy. Almost every scent she owns (which is only about 15 perfumes) is in the "clean" category. And this is UNDOUBTEDLY...in the "clean" perfume category. Last night I wasn't sure what I smelled more...the woody accord, or the floral accord. I smell the florals a lot at first. But after the first hour and a half or so...it smells mostly of the woody accord. I guess that would be the Cedarwood which is beautiful. It's not masculine or dry. It's a beautiful woody note actually that just makes for a deep, non-juvenile, clean scent. It's actually unique in the way that it's such a versatile, clean scent without smelling soapy or citrus notes overload. Most clean scents that I've owned and smelled have been one of those two things. Beautiful perfume. But I will say...it's more for the wearer to enjoy. It will only project for about 90 minutes. Projection - About 2 feet for the first hour & a half. Then it's a skin scent. Longevity - Although it doesn't project long...technically it's overall longevity isn't bad. Roughly 4 hours. However...please note that it will only project to others who aren't shoulder-to-shoulder from you for the first hour and a half. The rest of it's life only you will smell it when you move around or smell your wrist. I sprayed this on at 8:30 this morning and I'm writing this review at 11:30, 3 hours later and I can still smell it blatantly on myself. But I'm sure that someone else, even someone sitting close to me probably won't be able to smell it without leaning in. Overall Score - 8/10. The scent itself is beautiful though. Much like the bottle suggests...it's adorable and polite. So friendly and inviting this little gem is. I however...would not complain if it had some more concentration. I do not own the Eau De Parfum so to be fair as I said...this review is for the lotion, body mist, and roller ball. That being said...I layered ALL 3 products at once. I put on the lotion on my hands & wrists, then sprayed like 6 sprays of the mist, and then a swipe up each hand/arm of the rollerball liquid. So I know it's an assumption & maybe I'm wrong...but I think it's a fair assumption that the Eau De Parfum wouldn't give performance superior to using all 3 of these products simultaneously. If the price of the Eau De Parfum bottles comes down to a reasonable $20-$40...I'll still most likely purchase. Final thought : I HIGHLY recommend this to anyone such as a dental assistant, doctor, nurse, or anyone of any other occupation where you cannot wear boldddd scents to work. This goes in the "safe-to-wear-to-work" hall of fame for SURE. Beautifully clean and safe scent with no potential to offend anybody's senses or space. Sarah Jessica Parker makes lovely perfumes all around, no pun intended. I hope she keeps em coming. Hopefully she releases a new scent before the end of 2020. Fingers crossed!! As for this one, although I wish it were stronger...I still voted above with a "love."

After sampling this body spray I became obsessed and promptly bought the EDP. At first I wasn't sure exactly what notes I was smelling but the fragrance was soft and clean without any sharp soapy, laundry detergent, marine, or aquatic notes. Someone mentioned the scent of clean baby. I love the innocence of that imagery and can totally see it, although there are no baby powder or lavender notes. Actually, I am reminded of clean skin after an evening shower before bed. After wearing it for about a week I realized honeysuckle is definitely the most prominent note for me, followed by the mandarin and just a hint of peony. At the drydown I sense just a whisper of soft caramel. There aren't any sharp edges in this fragrance. I wonder if the sweet mandarin and caramel balance out those floral notes. There's a very soft muskiness too but not like an animalic or white musk or even a musk I could describe. Just a very gentle skin scent. I don't smell any patchouli whatsoever. Depending on the day this scent fades quickly or lasts for hours. It's strange but sometimes I can't even smell it an hour after applying and today for example I only wore the body spray which I sprayed at 9am and here it is 5pm and I can still smell it. Who knows. BUT... I absolutely hate being assaulted by strong fragrance so I am really happy with this being a soft, subtle one. I am so in love with this. I adore everything about it from the name, to the concept, to the bottle. Appropriate for anyone who wishes to wear it!

I absolutely love this. The opening is the best I've smelled in awhile. Opens up sweet from the mandarin, so aromatic and abit green spicy from the cassis and I immediately detect the orange blossom. In fact its orange blossom reminded me of the pink pepper/orange blossom opening of Black Opium EDP which I love in that. Its opening is very much like a drier Black Opium (the EDT at least) to my nose. So the opening is quite sweet yet spicy too. Then the drydown is very woody and more dry, it has a metallic peppery element there almost like James Bond 007 without being sweet. Not much caramel in the drydown, but more of the cedar, patchouli and orange blossom, it gives a bitter effect. Its cedar and orange blossom along with the honeysuckle make it slightly colder and quite reminiscent of the orange blossom in Alien Eau Extraordinaire without the heavy or citrusy sharper notes. Perfectly cold like youre in a shade of a tree, slightly green and the caramel adds that alluring bit of sweetness in the opening. I wore it alone for a whole day and loved its silage, very aromatic. It also pairs well with SJP NYC Crush, I wore them both the second time I tried it on and they blended so well. I paired it with Black Raspberry Vanilla BBW mist and the combo is divine. P.S: Idk why I never tried anything from SJP before, I love her as an actress and person, she's like my twin: free spirited, skinny, muscular Aries girl with 500+ pairs of shoes and love for fashion lol.

Absolutely LOVELY scent. Lives up to the name for sure. I am gobsmacked by the dislike reviews. There's nothing here to dislike. Unless they are disliking because it's nothing groundbreaking. If you want groundbreaking and divisive go wear Mugler. If you want daily wear and a generic "lovely" smell, you pick celeb frags. The reviews comparing this to baby shampoo I can agree with. But you know how heavenly it is when you soap up and sniff a fresh baby head? There's nothing like it. It's like that but in a bottle. That is where the "born" element of the name comes in. And it lacks that cloying baby powder "fresh" scent of a lot of other perfumes that try to mimic baby scent. It reads clean to me, slightly soapy, and floral. Patchouli normally does not play well with me at all but this is one of the rare scents that the patch note is basically non existent and not bothersome. Silage is normal, I didn't find that it was weak at all. Suitable for all ages. I'm a millennial but I could also see my mother in her 60s wearing this no problem. Yes price is a little strange but a lot of celeb frags are climbing. I could easily see this one going the way of Lady Gaga Fame and rocketing in price. I found a 4 piece gift set on ebay that included the 3.4oz for 70 dollars and it's worth every penny. I might actually buy another for my mom for Christmas. Basically I'm saying PICK IT UP. Suitable for a blind buy if you like clean, inoffensive scents.

This is exactly “LOVELY”. There is no other words to describe it. Born lovely is clean, bright, soft, refreshing, smooth, comforting all wrapped up in one fragrance. The fragrance remains the same from opening to dry down, which is a nice change from the morphing notes of most perfumes. I can smell lavender even though it’s not listed as a note. It’s blended so well that I can’t distinguish one note over another. It’s very smooth. Born Lovely reminds me that we are all born perfectly lovely. Regardless if we feel beautiful or not, if we are struggling to see any beauty in ourselves at all anymore as we age or as stress takes over our lives. We were all Born Lovely, we all deserve to feel lovely and I do feel that way when I wear this fragrance. This fragrance really is one that everyone can wear. Anyone from a 13 year old teen girl to a 90 year old grandmother. It would not be out of place. Such a nice fragrance. Very soft and feminine. I think it makes the perfect signature mum fragrance. I’m a snob when it comes to celebrity fragrances. I refuse to buy them. My very first celeb fragrance was SJP NYC three years ago. The quality is equal to higher end fragrance houses and it didn’t smell typically sickly, cheap or generic like most celeb fragrances even though her fragrances are so affordable!!! I want to try more of her perfumes.
