SJP NYC Eau de Parfum

I love strawberries, so this hooked me in immediately as strawberry is the strongest note here - it wears from the top and hints remain as the fragrance dries down to a skin-scent. The osmanthus also is long-wearing and compliments the strawberry and mandarin perfectly. Out of the florals, the honeysuckle & mimosa are the strongest, and I get quiet hints of the rose as the vanilla develops - I also wonder if there is freesia here too? The floral bouquet settles into the rum & creamy sandalwood base really smoothly. The lasting power is neither outstandingly great nor terribly bad - it wears for around 6/7 hours. For the affordable price-point, I think that this is very decent. I love that SJP NYC has such authentic key note accords, and appreciate that the other scent notes are kept very subtle to keep the fragrance uncluttered and clean. I'm very happy with my blind buy of this and have been wearing it every other day, as it's very easy to wear. I'm 40 and don't feel like mutton dressed as lamb in it.

So I CAN like a strawberry scent! Maybe it matters that this one is "wild strawberry", as until now, every strawberry top note has smelled artificial and overpowering, and like a makeup/cosmetic smell to me. But tbh I didn't even know this was strawberry until I looked at the notes. It smelled like red berries or perhaps a more tart raspberry to me. This was love at first sniff for me. I immeadiately thought of the sugary fresh fruitiness of Police to be Woman, but NYC is less crystallised sugar and more of a fruity sweetness, and less citrus. But the overall vibe is very alike. I'll be buying this and letting it replace Police as my summer scent as that one is about to disappear from shelves. For summer, I don't go for aquatic green shower-fresh light airy scents. I go for sweet fruity fresh, but need them to not have such a strong woody or musky base so it doesn't turn heavy. Police and NYC are my only solutions so far :) Love it, and glad I tested it on a whim!

To be honest... this might just be my favourite of all time. While it's true that it holds sentimental value for me, as it acts as a portal into the past, into a particularly sublime spring and summer I once lived...it's more than this nostalgia and these connotations. It's definitely the pretty mist itself, too. I am a huge fan of refreshing, tropical island scents. This one is so uplifting. Never cloying. It simply soothes instead. Just the right amount of sweetness. I look forward to the weather warming up here over the next few months, and misting myself with this beauty...and reliving the love and the lust of a time gone by. Fragrance as a time machine. As if the domain of perfume isn't cool enough with its pretty bottles and all of the dopamine of a true addiction, and the way it creates worlds....it also takes us back in time to people and places that were once everything to us. 🥹🩷

This starts off smelling a whole lot like Paris Hilton by Paris Hilton but it quickly gets a little more boozey which makes it smell more mature than Paris (in a good way). It's bright and sparkling much like Paris and Versace Bright Crystal but it develops more depth the longer you wear it with the hint of creamy musk like lovely has but even more subtle. Strawberry is a prominent note but there are also some delicate floral notes as well. I smell the honeysuckle and mimosa. Lovely is my favorite and signature scent and I was excited to try another SJP perfume. This is a more young smell than lovely. And it doesn't last as long. Over all its pleasant and light. I couldn't see anyone not liking it.

Blind bought this out of curiosity and because I found it SUPER cheap online (used). I’m a fan of floral fruity perfumes so this was a big hit for me. I found this floral and sweet. Reminded me of my favorite Victoria’s Secret perfume which has been long discontinued... Bombshell in Bloom. It actually smelled EXACTLY like it in my opinion. I was so excited to have found a dupe! Then something horrible happened... cheap packaging! I opened to sniff again and the bottle slipped out of the darn plastic packaging and shattered all over the floor. Literally wanted to cry! Owned this perfume for a total of six hours :(

WOW! This one is definitely a pleasant surprise! A delightful strawberry daiquiri with a hint of soft musk. I absolutely LOVE the way this one settles into my skin...it is divine! Soft, fruity, but mature at the same time. I never looked twice at this one due to the loud packaging but I am so glad I took a chance. I got a set with a 3.4 oz edp and a rollerball for $20 at TJ Maxx. I do not understand the awful bottle though. It’s a tacky plastic casing on a clear unmarked bottle. I’d take it out of the casing, but then it has no cap. That’s my only complaint. I LOVE the scent!

Summer days out in the city in a bottle! Juicy Fruit chewing gum! Don't listen to people saying it isn't sophisticated enough or it is too young! These are the same people who will buy Yara or even Love don't be shy and yet it is the same type of fun sweet bubblegum/chewing gum gourmand perfume that you wear all summer long (day to night) when all your days are packed solidly with good times. Don't get het up about not being serious enough or niche enough or not being too out of pocket enough..buy it,.wear it and enjoy it. It's not that complicated.

This is wild strawberry and osmanthus heaven! Beautiful, quite strong scent that lasts more than you would think given the notes. I adore this, could easily have it as an everyday scent. However, I gifted my bottle to my teenage girls just now: I just want them to have this kind of beauty in their lives! The perfect gift for anyone - young or not young - who you think should have the perfect, pretty scent (my other candidates are Daisy Eau so Fresh (OG or Paradise) and Thank You, next 2.0).

I wasn't expecting to love this one so much! It was a blind buy, i found it for only 14€, so I thought why not - I wanted it for a while now so I bought it and I'm so glad I did. It is very uplifting scent, I'm not good at describing the notes, but I don't smell that much of a strawberry there. It definitely smells fruity but there is more to it than just that.. it smells a bit like a shampoo, at first it reminded me Midnight Fantasy, but I didn't like that one as much as this one.

Quite lovely at the start and throughout its life span with sparkly fruit notes and beautiful flowers... until you detect the blocking of a natural flow. I'm not sure how to describe this entirely, but it starts out (in one sniff) as sweet and heads into slightly floral territory and hits what appears to be the start of a sandalwood indicator and just... stops before you can properly smell the sandalwood and this makes it smell mildly of sweat? Not entirely enjoyable.

Off the top, at least, I believe this to be the best strawberry forward fragrance I have tried. So MANY smell like plastic to me which I detest. When I first sprayed this one, it smelled like I had stuck my nose into a bowl of fresh diced strawberries. SO YUM! Let's see what the middle and base do to it lol UPDATE: This is now the 2nd best strawberry forward fragrance I have tried. It is still a wonderful strawberry fragrance! #1 now is Fraaagola Saalaaata *SWOON*

I own the original edt version of this and they are identical, thank God!! The freshest, cleanest, most beautiful strawberry with a hint of floral and soaked in a creamy rum. Got 2 big bottles off fragrancenet.com for 17 and some change each so well worth it!! I unlike alot of reviewers find the bottle "case" adorable and when finished with the perfume bottle inside can be used for holding small objects and throwing in a bag or purse, genius:)

Lots of mixed reviews on this but I find this a pleasant, easy blind buy. Juicy strawberry and rum with vanilla is what I get. Lasts long enough for me to get through work. Better for warmer weather but I wear on a night out when I’m going to be inside somewhere hot and sweaty. Not the most natural smelling thing in the world, byes it’s inviting, pleasing and sweet. Good job on this one, SJP!

I’ve used this for the first time today, and for the last 30 mins I’ve been convinced it smells identical to Toy 2 by Moschino. At least on my skin anyway. Interested to see how this develops, but based on first impressions alone this is something I’d happily wear for my day to day activities. Sweet, fresh/fruity and very pleasant.

I really don't normally like sweet perfumes but this one just appeals to me. I get a very boozy strawberry. It makes me feel young, fun and free. The vibe is a Saturday spent strolling around town on a date with yourself! :)

I love strawberry scents and try to get them all and this one is one of my favorites 😍♥️🍓 But you have to like sweet, fruity and almost candy like scents, although this one is not so candy to my nose... I love it!!

She smells like your cool aunt who is younger than your parents and totally wants to do your hair because she didn't have a little sister. Youthful, fruity, but not "childish." Gardenia stands out on drydown.

It literally smells like a strawberry cocktail or strawberry margarita. Sweet, fresh strawberries with rum and flowers, perfect for a spring/summer morning. 10/10 worth it (the bottle didn't wow me)

Short and sweet. I'm referring to this perfume as well as my review. I wore this eons ago as a teenager, and had a strong desire to try it again. Once I bought a bottle, I sprayed and was outraged! Nothing! NOTHING THERE! Until I sprayed again - literally layering on the same perfume. A few moments later - There it is! You gotta layer this baby. Full blast of alcohol on every first spray. There's no getting around that. Then, a nice - surprisingly very nice - pink lemonade smell! It's sparkling, sweet, zesty, fruity, and has that distinctive "pink fruit" smell. It settles to a straight-forward synthethic strawberry with slight rum (or maybe the alcohol just wanted to say hello again, I dunno) smell that doesn't last very long. The sparkling pink lemonade aspect is definitely my favourite part. Sillage and projection are tame. Shoulder-shrugglingly tame. I wear it for lazying around the house or running errands. The bottle isn't my favourite. A tiny bit busy, no? Good thing about it is that's hella-easy to find in my bag. :) It's very fun, girly, cheap, not-so-nasty, fruity scent without being offensive. I concur - a strawberry daiquiri in a bottle! SJP has 100% made better perfumes than this, but I don't begrudge her. It's fun, energetic, and pleasant. No more, no less. *** Kitty rating: 6.5/10.

This is such a great fruity floral with a light vanilla musk base. On my chemistry it dries down to a lovely casual scent that smells a lot more expensive than you can currently purchase it for! (I purchased my 100ml for about $15) This is one of my favorite summer scents! It doesn’t smell juvenile on me at all. I wouldn’t consider this a scent I’d wear to a fancy dinner or event. I would however find it great for casual summer wear like barbecues and ball games, drinks on the patio. It’s bright and fresh, on me a little soapy, giving it that clean and classy vibe. I heard SJP fragrances are going to be out of production soon so if you enjoy them, it may be worth it to pick them up now while they’re still affordable. Once they’re discontinued, I’m sure the price will skyrocket! They’re great smelling fragrances for good prices! For now!

I bought this for wild strawberries. Not disappointed at all. Indeed, I recognise the aroma. It’s been ages since I smelt wild strawberries, but it was something like this. I think I also pick up osmanthus in as much as it’s said to be apricot-smelling with a tinge of leather. Not sure about the Italian mandarin and how that smells differently from non-Italian ones. In about an hour, sweet florals begin peeking through. Even though the rum is listed in the base, this nectar is boozy from the outset. I'm going back on my opposition to boozy scents. I now have a few of them, and they are all delightful (Fancy Love, Flor del Sol, Lovely and this). NYC is in the style of the cheerful summer editions of Escada (of which I’ve got two) - the style that gives me a sense of well being.

I only chased this one down because people were saying it was similar to Escada’s Island Kiss, which I owned back around 2004. It’s somewhat close to it, which was a nice nostalgia hit but overall it’s a weak, fruit juice that (on my skin) smells as cheap as the pricetag. Saying that, it’s youthful and fresh without the dirty, rotten undertone that some fruity ones get. And there’s plenty of diehard fans out there that swear by it. It’s non-offensive and I don’t dislike SJP, in fact I have many of her fragrances due to their cheap price and the fact that their impulse checkout placement. For the cheap price, it’s fine to try this one.

I just got this off of sarah jessica parker beauty website and got a free roller ball with it. I used the edt with this before and loved it but I NEVER stayed on. I was super excited to find it in edp form. I get the initial blast of strawberry followed by the cognac it's a very boozy strawberry fruity scent, Almost like the fruity cock tail drinks but it still smells mature enough and not super sweet. I love sarah jessica parker fragrances they are so unique and you can tell she is fully involved with the creative process ! glad I can stil find this scent. Stays on longet than most celeb fruity floral

Tried it on paper in a Chemist Warehouse. The opening was very lacklustre, as it resembled many frags you may have smelled before. Then it starts to get clear with the fruitiness. I'm surprised that all SJP perfumes are of quite good quality and performance although they are very cheap! Thanks SJP. I will probably get a bottle of this, and I'll use it when I want to feel lighthearted, carefree, and cheered up, when it's not the time to use some strong, heavy or sexy perfumes.

Very fresh and a little bit boozy...just like an ice cold strawberry daquiri in the summer time. Ripe strawberries, rhum, vanilla on a woody base with a hint of creamy flowers. This perfume is fun and youth in a bottle. Its not deep or pretentious... its young and fruity. Smells really good and has a very reasonable price. Silage and longevity is about moderate on me. Its not a huge love but a biglike from me. Perfect for spring and amazing for summer times in light dresses.

Oh, I like it! I got a little and really fun bottle at TJ MAXX and I enjoy this sweet, fruity scent. It will be great for a summer vacation or a weekend trip, especially, because the bottle is so handy. I do get a prominent strawberry here, but this is not all it has. It ́s just fun and puts you into a good mood. PS: There is a certain similarity to Big Pink Pony 2 by Ralph Lauren. They are not identical, but you wouldn ́t need both.

Such a sweet smell, very girly and since i love these kind of smells I decided to give it a go and buy it for myself. It wasn't a blind buy and I loved smelling it when someone else would wear it but after I've worn it few times myself, I realised the sweet smell that I liked made me smell more like a teenage girl than a young woman. Maybe it was just my skin but either way I gifted it to my teenaged niece and she loves it.

I'm not a fan of SJP's fragrances in general, there are only a small few fragrances from her that I actually like and this NYC is one of them. I love fruity sweet and floral fragrances so I love all the sweet fruity notes of wild strawberries and mandarin in this, they blend so well with the floral notes of gardenia and rose, and it smells so lovely on my skin. This is my favourite fragrance from SJP.

I had this in my early 20s and that feels like the perfect time to have it, if not even late teens. It's got a full throated fruitiness that's totally campy but also surprising pleasant. It's sweet like real strawberry but with a hyper anime watermelon twist, bubbling up like how you expect rosé or champagne to taste when you're too young to drink it. It's juvenile in an endearing way.

On this 92F day, NYC EDP smells like a rose perfume lightened and sweetened with mandarin oranges and a little vanilla. Bright, happy but medium weight and slightly creamy. A fun perfume for daytime. A sweeter, fuller-bodied Chanel Chance En Tendre. I like this for an easy wear. Decent longevity when worn in warm weather. Good value.

This reminds me of the Harley quinn perfume ''hearts'' that you get at spencers. It has a very strong strawberry note in both of them. They are very similar. I love this juicy sweet fragrance when I want to feel bright and fun. It's not a complex scent but it's not meant to be. I'm glad there is an edp now!

What can I say? Escada Pacific Paradise is BACK!!!;) Under a new name, in a different bottle, maybe in a slighly more sophisticated formula, but on my skin SJP NYC smells almost identical! It's a blend of tropical and forest fruit to me, very juicy, refreshing and aromatic, pure positive energy in a bottle!

This is very pretty. I usually don't prefer super fruity scents, but this is a good fruity. It's not like artificial strawberry, it's fresh wild strawberry and not over powering. The combination of wild strawberry, rum, vanilla and sandalwood is a very nice and easy blend. Very light and feminine.

Something about the floral-musk of this scent is very familiar to me and like catnip. It has a quality I think of as creamy. While it's not an objectively good fragrance, it has something I find addictive. I will definitely empty my 30 bottle but I'm not sure I'll repurchase.

I don't usually care for fruity scents or anything too sweet..... this is definitely an exception. It is undeniably fruity and sweet, but not sickly sweet. The scent is intoxicating. I think there enough in the background of this fragrance to keep it interesting to my nose.

I live in a warm climate and find myself reaching for this one often on warm days. I like the berry scent and I do get another floral note. All in all easy to wear and fun in a youthful carefree way. Average lasting, good value for it's price.

I am very disappointed from this perfume.Smell.cheaap nothing special.at all . And longevity is terrible around one hour even less.no.no no and its vnot worth it.

I am wearing this today. I did a little experiment. I layered SJP NYC WITH SJP NYC CRUSH. They smell great together. Fruity coconut blend. Perfect for summer.

Fruity, floral and boozy. The wild strawberry is definitely present. Fun packaging. Great for warm weather.

Smells like Gucci Flora gorgeous gardenia.

This is the only strawberry perfume in my collection because it’s the only one I’ve ever found that feels wearable. It really does remind me of Island Kiss which I had a mini of when I was young. I can get a bit of that rum note and a bit of osmanthus (which gives a slight peachy / apricot note) but it’s mainly syrupy, bright strawberry. I think the wild strawberry comes across as strawberry and red apple combined. It’s not screechy like Burberry Her and not shampooey like many other strawberry scents I’ve tried. I’m such a fan of SJP perfumes but I think the NYC range are the ones that feel the least like her - they’re nice but I can’t picture her ever wearing this or either of the Crush flankers as they’re not very complex or chic smelling. NYC is her fun and flirty range..... I guess much more of a Sex In The City feel, whereas the Lovely and Stash range really have her vibe! I hardly ever get the urge to wear strawberry scents so I just kept a 10ml rollerball of NYC, but it’s surprisingly strong so it’s all l need! It does have a youthful feel but perfume is for anyone at any age, so at 42 I’m happy to smell like strawberries. Let’s be real, the Eden perfumes from Kayali smell like fruit flavoured sweets / cocktails too and people don’t say they’re for teenagers!

Well..it’s not great. I was expecting strawberry and a bit more sweetness and fruit - instead I get the little dated pink pepper vibe that was fashionable 15 years ago. Its a bit generic, drug store and doesn’t really go anywhere. Like the colourful packaging but the juice doesn’t really match it. I would have liked this a lot more if it had been more unashamedly fruity and sweet instead of trying to veer more sophisticated, which it isn’t. I don’t hate it but its generic and non- descript.

Strawberry + rum. It's a bit of fruity fun. I can imagine a young Carrie Bradshaw sipping on a cocktail with these two ingredients. It's definitely a summer holiday scent that you use for one season. Lasts 2-3 hours but is cheap as chips so I don't mind the constant respray. Own a 30ml bottle. Won't be repurchasing.

Wearing this today for the 1st time... Only a slight strawberry whiff for a minute or 2 then seems to go right into the same screechy rose I found in Aubusson Velvet Rose. No osmanthus here which I was looking forward to. I'm not finding much character at this point, hopefully the dry down has something to offer.

It's a pretty shampoo smell, but I don't particularly enjoy shampoo smells. They first made the flanker and then improvised a scent for it. She's that friend with a corny sense of humour who thinks she is the funniest person alive.

For me it is very like newspaper or magazine page free gift. No feeling of New York or America such things like that.Nothing smell special except for the bottle. However the packaging is damn cute .Too much synthetic!
