Smitten In Pink

This is immediately lightly sweet on me when first sprayed. As it dries down, the warm spiciness come forward and it becomes more complex. At dry down, this is a lovely, rich saffron floral with balanced sweetness, but in no way is it a hard core gourmand. I'm guessing the marigold and orange notes add just enough freshness to keep this from being too heavy or sugary. For me that's perfect, because I'm not looking for photorealistic desserts in fragrances. I've never been a fan of BR540, so it *not* smelling like that is a bonus. Overall, this is a lovely, nuanced saffron fragrance, with a mild touch of sweetness and without the intense woods, rose, and resins normally present in saffron-dominated scents. I personally don't have anything this extremely close to, and most of the suggestions for similar fragrances I've seen thrown about are either much sweeter or waaay deeper/richer than this is. I'll enjoy wearing this in spring and autumn what I want a saffron note but don't want to wear a leather, incense, oud, etc. On me this has light projection and medium lasting power – making it appropriate for wearing in situations where a large sillage is unwanted. I would recommend this for anybody who loves saffron and could be down with a not super sweet, not oud, not rose, etc fragrance where this note can really shine.

The bottle has a magnetic closure, so that the ribbon is aligned correctly every time the lid goes back on. Nice thought through detail. First impressions after first day of wear: Marigold and caramel and lightly saffron-y. Drydown is a musky caramel. I do not own BR540, nor ever smelled it. I own Ariana's Cloud, Club de Nuit Unspoken and Ana Abiyedh Rouge, which are supposed to be similar to BR540, so, I would say it is closest to Ana Abiyedh, in that it is saffrony and sweet and feminine, and expect Smitten in Pink will be compared to BR540 quite a bit. I own nearly every SJP perfume, and went through many a bottle of Lovely back in the day, so I know the quality of SJP perfumes and therefore was quite disappointed that this one is only detectable if I press my nose onto my skin. Even half an hour after spraying. SJP perfumes are by no means beast mode, but none of my other SJP's are this soft-spoken. Have had to reapply often throughout the day. Perhaps I am nose blind to the notes. Although I don't like to be suffocated by perfume, 'barely there' is also not what I am aiming for. With all that said, I like this perfume and expect to be wearing it often. May give an update if I change my opinion about performance.

The bottle is beautiful. Scent is sweet and sugary, almost at the start. Low longevity and not enough uniqueness for me to keep. I got maybe 3-4 hours wear, but overall barely at times could barely even smell it on me. Not a fan of this scent profile anyway, so I let it go back.

I own this and Blue Rhapsody and am honestly, very disappointed with both. The bottles are beautiful, which is sadly the only positive thing I can say. I don't own Baccarat Rouge and have never smelt it, but I do have the Aldi dupe, Lacura Cardinal Red, and the dry down of Smitten In Pink is very similar to that. But it has a much sweeter initial scent. Just like Blue Rhapsody, the scent sits very close to the skin and after a couple of hours, is undetectable. It has no projection at all. It is incredibly overpriced and if you want anything that supposedly resembles BR, go for the Aldi dupe instead as it's MUCH cheaper and has better performance! I can't believe these are from SJP. I was delighted to see new fragrances from her, but these seem like cheap cash in's on the reputation of her previous perfumes. I won't be keeping either of them.

I absolutely love the bottle that looks like the back of SJP shoes (plus the signature candy color!). The scent itself is quite airy. Floral with nice saffron note that’s not metallic, blended with warm spices and some added sweetness. Smitten in Pink is not as niche and polarizing as Stash (which I personally adore). Well blended everyday scent.
