Stash SJP Privé

Okay, I feel privileged that I now own all three variants of Stash - the original, Unspoken and Prive. I live in the UK so the first two were easy to get, and gratefully, I have a Russian friend who still has family in Russia, so with her help, I was able to get Prive, which just arrived yesterday. First of all, much as I adore fragrance, I am no connoisseur when it comes to notes etc. so cannot get technical like many Fragranticans can, for which I can only apologise. But I can give my honest opinion, which I hope is worth something, given I seem to be the only person who owns all three (on here anyway!) Right then, on to the review. I'll start by telling you what no doubt everybody wants to know - Prive and Unspoken are NOTHING like each other!! Despite their similar notes, they are totally different creatures. Unspoken is a lot warmer and closer to the original Stash, whereas Prive is a lot fresher smelling. Unspoken gives me that feeling when you want to snuggle up on the sofa with your beloved - it's warm, kind, settling and comforting. Prive makes me think of sunshine and flowers. It's zingy and fresh and makes me feel happy! Both of them have moderate longevity and sillage. Neither can be described as a powerhouse in any way. With both of them being Stash flankers, it is very surprising just how UNLIKE Stash they both are! The Stash DNA is more obvious in Unspoken throughout the duration of the scent, but with Prive, it is noticeable at the beginning, but soon fades away with the dry down. Prive is without doubt the more feminine of the two, it is undoubtedly girly and not a hint of the unisex feel of the original at all. I wouldn't advise a guy to wear this. Of the two, I think I actually prefer Prive. I find it uplifting and it is, in my humble opinion, gorgeous. I would describe it also as the easiest to wear version of Stash to date. I can also give a comparison for the scent of Prive - Ghost Cherish is probably 85-90% the same fragrance! I can confidently say this as I still own Ghost Cherish, and plus, I wore Cherish on my wedding day - it's a fragrance that is special to me and I know it's scent anywhere. Soon as I sprayed Prive it reminded me of Cherish, but with the woodsy base of Stash, but the dry down is Cherish all over, just a tad more 'grown up' if you ask me. But I love it, I love both Prive and Cherish, and can confidently say if you like Cherish, you will like Prive! There is also another big plus for buying Cherish rather than doing as I did and going to the lengths I did to get a bottle of Prive - price. My friends sister managed to get a 25% discount off the fragrance in Russia (100ml bottle) and even still, with the discount off the perfume, then the postage on top, it cost me £80.00 to bring Prive back to England, and to be honest, it isn't worth it, no matter how much I love it. You can pick up a bottle of Ghost Cherish for less on ebay, and if all you want to do is smell Prive, you are better getting a sample bottle of Cherish for a fraction of the price. It's seriously as similar as you will find. Then decide if it still worth the cost and effort to get Prive for yourself? Hope this helps?

I am really happy that I didn't listen to any of the negative reviews on this fragrance (all reviews are subjective to everyone's own personal preferences anyway) or I may not have purchased this but I figured for 12.99, if I didn't like it, I wasn't out much money so I went for it. When I saw that it was mostly compared to an expensive Chanel fragrance (Chance eau Tendre), I was understandably skeptical. Went on a lunch date with 2 friends on Saturday and figured it was the perfect time to test it out. As soon as I spritzed it on, instant love! Some celebrity fragrances have a cheap-ish edge to them but this one doesn't at all. It smells expensive and classy and makes you feel put-together. On the drydown, I do understand the reference to Chance eau Tendre. I think I actually prefer this, it's less biting, less sharp. I'm (unfortunately) sensitive to fragrance and when I have an allergic reaction, it's not pretty. This one fully behaved itself and didn't give me any issues. It's a tad on the lighter side but I could smell it on myself most of the day, right up until evening, when it did die down quite a bit so if you're worried about performance, you may need to re-apply as your day wears on. The scent itself is fresh and sparkling, a tad zingy, a tad woody. I wore it in the Winter but I think this would really come alive and sing in Spring/Summer. I don't smell much of the musk or sage but I can detect the quince, grapefruit, pink pepper, orange blossom, birch and vetiver. This fragrance is blended incredibly well so one note doesn't outshine any of the others. For a celebrity fragrance, I'm incredibly impressed with this, especially for the bargain-basement price I paid. Other fragrances that have a similar vibe that I could compare this to are Coach for Women and Ari. Stash Prive is smoother/less sharp/less screechy than Coach and it smells better blended/airier/less cheap than Ari. I had both Coach and Ari and de-cluttered them but Stash Prive is staying in my collection forever and is destined to become a go-to for days when I'm sick of everything else. If I ever come across another bottle for the same price, I will snag it too. A successful blind buy for me!

I was browsing through a perfume store here in Moscow while visiting my family, and ran into this fragrance - I am not familiar with the Stash line, but I owned Lovely and SJP NYC Crush. I saw this one on the shelf in the store - sometimes, when I'm out for a walk, I like trying a perfume to then review it - and I read shortly after that this happens to be an exclusive limited edition sold only in Russia, dedicated to ballet and Russian women, who inspired Sarah after her visit in Moscow. What were the odds? Of course I was honoured and intrigued already :) At first spray (and I am so sorry I did not test this on my skin), this is quite citrusy and fresh, a bit like Light Blue by D&G. But the magic truly starts when this fragrance develops. I took the blotter out of my jacket pocket hours later and wow, I was floored! This is so beautifully blended, it's gorgeous. It is similar to Chance Eau Tendre EDP by Chanel, the quince is very detectable. However, it is not as flat as the EDT or Marc Jacobs Daisy or Yellow Diamond by Versace. This is fresh, invigorating, interesting. I see why Russian women and ballet inspired this: it is a fresh, a little cold, but very elegant fragrance. I will get myself a bottle of this to bring back to Canada, some people resell theirs after they bought it at the autograph session with Sarah J.P. here in Russia. For those looking to get this, I can recommend the Russian version of Fragrantica, Russian Ebay, and also Avito.ru. You might need a basic knowledge of Russian or a translator. Hope this helps :)

@genny17 I assure you, they are NOT the same perfume at all. I have them both here, they are completely different. Unspoken is warm and rich, Prive is light, fresh and citrussy. They are absolutely nothing like each other. Not trying to cause an argument or anything, I just have the benefit of owning both so can do a direct side by side comparison. It's like trying to compare EL Sensuous Noir with LVEB Florale, they are NOTHING like each other.

This one is gorgeous 😍 It smells like this. Yesterday you have sprayed your shirt with a chypre scent. Aromatic, citrus, woody, mossy. Today you are wearing the same shirt but you are wearing a pink fruity floral. Not too sweet, perhaps it is Chanel Chance Tendre eau de parfum. You get SJP Prive. A citrus woody fruity floral composition. It honestly smells like a fruity floral chypre. Unique, bright, versatile, interesting.

When I first bought this, I did think it smelled similar to Light Blue and I was disappointed. I only smell lemon and cedar in LB. Now that I’ve given it time to macerate, it is a lovely, slightly creamy (but not lactonic) citrus floral. I like it much better than LB. Appropriate for all functions and times. Longevity is average, about 4 hours on skin, low sillage.

Completely went from like to love. I finally sampled Chance Tendre and this does smell remarkably like that but possibly woodier, which I prefer. Very easy to wear. Affordable. my only complaint is the longevity but even the Chanel only made it about 4 hours.

Stash SJP Prive smells so beautiful! I love how her fragrance allegedly dedicated to the ballet legacy of the Bolshoi Theater! I and my sisters are ballerinas and we love the smell of everything ballet! I will definitely wear this on special occasions!

Reminds me a bit of places similar to Sephora that I always went in and couldn't understand what smelled so beautiful. And now that I have it, I love it. Sweet, light and fresh. Thumbs up from me.

Stash Prive does smells like it was inspired ballet. It is woody but sage and quince really mixes together with other notes and creates very modern fragrance. Beautiful and one of her best.

Instant love! I can't stop smelling my wrist! It is mild spicy and fresh in a sweet, cozy way, like sleeping in clean sheets after a long hot shower. Edit: Found it on Luxplus.se

I do hope this gets over the Pond sooner rather than later. It sounds like my kind of fragrance. I really like the original Stash as well

I was gifted this and I am over the moon happy I got it! I have searched high and low for it. I now have it! Essentially unable to get this in America and hard to find period anywhere else. Having this for my collection is such an excitement. The scent itself however is nice, not amazing. I do like "unspoken" better than "prive' " and I remember when we all said unspoken was the American version and Prive' was the over seas version, not at all the case. They're in the same wheelhouse of scent but different entirely. Prive' is much softer lighter, but also has the pepper, and spice that unspoken has on the base. Prive' is much more intimate, and I think that's why the Pink bottle top, and the Pink liquid was chosen. It's more floral spring summer. It is very mature and grown, as all of SJP's fragrance's tend to be. It's not something I would wear everyday but I do like it. Thankful to have it finally in my collection! But after how hard it was to get it, I had really hoped I would have LOVED the fragrance, however I do not and it's nothing OMG amazing. My one 1.7 oz bottle will be enough and I'll cherish it. But SJP has many many better fragrances in her wheelhouse. 7/10 overall.

Wow! I underestimated the beauty in this. If you hate this in heat, wait for the weather to cool down. This becomes a wonderfully balanced stunner and another SJP win for me. The opening was way too much in hot weather and really bothersome to my nose. For Fall, pink pepper and quince are lovely and showy (summer it's overwhelming and prickly). The orange blossom and sage appear quickly and are outstanding! (I love these two notes working with the edge of that opening). I get a slightly sweet, almost resinous undertone on the skin and although it isn't very strong throughout the day, I do still smell the scent on me at the end of a 9-5. End of day drydown is woody and musky. Overall, really pretty and a surprising combination of sparkly and earthy. Not at all like Chance Eau Tendre. This is more interesting and wears longer.

This is such a lovely perfume! No relation to Lovely LOL Delightful though, this comes out very fruity with the quince and grapefruit then mellows out into a beautiful woodsy, creamy musk floral. All things I love. It's very inoffensive in my opinion. I need to test it a few more times but it's a Like for me.. Not quite a Love. It isn't bad by any means but it just isn't WOW factor for me. I look for those WOW factor perfumes you know but this IS another masterfully crafted SJP perfume. This woman doesn't play around with her fragrances it would seem! If you like a creamy, fruity floral that dries down to a gorgeous wood, clean musk but still retains those beautiful fruits and flowers this could be a great choice for you! Solid 7/10

A demure and feminine skin scent. Herbal, fresh, floral that is slightly sweet but turns a little sweeter as it develops. At first I did think this was kinda boring but it’s grown on me. I keep getting these lovely faint wafts of sweetness in the mid (maybe that’s the quince or the orange blossom) before it finishes with soft musky woods. I’m wearing and reviewing this on a hot summers day. Edit: The complete dry down reminds me of juicy couture with the hyacinth note (even though this isn’t listed) but it’s quite subtle and probably would get a few thumbs down if I suggested it as a ‘reminds me of’ scent on here. Nice bottle design with the dusky pink cap, and the light pink juice looks pretty too.

The scent itself is a lovely citrus-white floral combo and is very refreshing after wearing my usual heavier perfumes every day. What bugs me the most is how this pretty much disappears about an hour after spraying, and even then it's pretty nonexistent for that whole hour. It's such a shame, because it really is a pretty scent. This would be a good gym perfume (if I ever went to the gym lol) as it's fresh and clean. Luckily I only paid about $15 for it. Also it has absolutely nothing to do with the original Stash. Tbh save your money and buy something else unless you want to spray this on yourself about 20 times to get any kind of longevity or sillage

I picked this little gem up from Marshall's for six bucks. For the money, this is a steal. The opening is very strong, punchy citrus...not really pleasant. As it drys down though, it is quite nice. The sage and citrus notes compliment each other very well. When it settles completely into my skin, Privè transforms into a soft and woodsy scent. Overall, I enjoy this perfume and would consider this a contender for my signature scent if only the sillage was more potent. That being said, this one really lasts a long time on the skin.

Definitely a very similar DNA as, passport in Tokyo by Paris Hilton. This one is just slightly more complex. This is just really citrus forward, slightly peppery, a tad musky and non offensive. It's rather light, bright and airy. In my opinion is only suitable for spring and summer,it's much too light for anything else. Also,its perfect if you want to smell nice and not bother anyone in close proximity. The lasting power and projection is just ok.... You won't get anything after four hours.

I'm just an SJP fragrance fan b/c there hasn't been one that I've disliked. This one smells great for spring or summer. It has a bit of the DNA of the original Stash, which I know can be a polarizing scent. This one is a bit softer than the original. I still think this one can be rated as unisex in my opinion. The price is right on this one as with most SJP perfumes so might be ok to blind buy if you have a bit of extra cash to spend.

What this has in common with the original Stash, I can't figure out. Initial impression - Dolce Gabbana Light Blue. Then it gives off a sparkling pink pepper. If original Stash is for fall/winter, this is a Spring baby. Love the bottle. Blind buy, but I trust SJP and have liked almost all her creations (except Twilight... eww). This smells floral and fresh to me. Thumbs up. Got mine off allbeauty.com from the UK shipped to Italy.

Purchased at TJMaxx for 7.99. The opening notes are so pretty but so fleeting. This acts as a perfect mood changing elixir, pulling me into myself for a cozy bedtime, like a sleepy time tea. It's bright, cheerful and citrus but not energizing. I chase the opening quince note, trying to catch the tail of a childhood memory but instead get lost in a soft cloud of clean linen and musk. On my "like" scale of 1<5, this is a 3.

Smells like a perfume store in a good way. It's kind of generic in the sense that it smells like other popular perfumes combined but it's really well made so it works. I don't have a lot of feminine fragrances in my collection so this really filled a hole for me but it might be redundant in other people's collections. Either way, if you find it at T.J. Maxx at $7.99 for 1oz, it's a great blind buy for anyone.

Blind bought - and I’m glad I did. I like the bottle (30ml so perfect to throw in my bag) and the scent is gorgeous - it just doesn’t last on my skin, at all. I’ll use this up quickly and I probably will buy again when there’s a gap in my perfumes, as I got it for £10 which is really cheap considering how nice I find the scent.

This is beautiful, very fresh but also fruity and elegant as said below. It's also a bit more youthful compared to Unspoken (I haven't tried the original so I can't compare). I'd say this is more suitable for Spring but it can still be worn in any season because it's not too cloying or anything.

Here's hoping that Stash Prive enriches over time because right now, I smell nothing. Edit: I've come to realize that Privé does well in transitional, mild weather with low humidity. It's a light warm floral. Quite nice for a soft , pleasant fragrance. Beware, you’ll only get about an hour.

I find this to be very light and perfect for an everyday scent or something for when you don't want to offend. It's very nice.

This is so addictive. Very citrusy and clean which at first I thought was boring but I cannot stop smelling my hand.

Exactly the same a Milton Lloyd's Panache Mademoiselle, but Mademoiselle lasts longer and is stronger.

This dries down to a body cream sort of smell, with a Chance eau Tendre profile. It's bright and fresh, citrusy, woody and slightly herbal but still sweet and somehow creamy from that musk! It's super easy to wear and very clean smelling while still being feminine. It's light and unobtrusive so it's perfect for people who easily get headaches or who work in healthcare / offices with fussy colleagues! It does require re-application but I think that in reality, it's just not the scent for anyone who likes beast-mode perfumes - for instance, if you wear fruitchoulis a lot then I suspect this would be crazy light for you, but if you're more of a Daisy / Lovely sort of person then this might be a winner! I think it's safe to say that it's made for those of use who appreciate delicate perfumes. And honestly, it's so insanely cheap that you wouldn't expect it to be beastly anyway! The little 30ml bottle is so cute and minimalist (which matches the pink juice inside!) and fits nicely in a small bag. If it helps to give you a feel for the style of perfume it is, the vibe it gives me is that of a lady in high waisted jeans with a tucked in, crisp white t-shirt, funky ankle boots, a messy bun and some RayBan Aviators, who's on the way to brunch with some mates. AKA a cool girl who's not trying too hard to be cool!

I completely agree with CindyLouHoo--there is zero resemblance or connection to the original Stash and it should have been released as its own separate perfume....but I doubt it could have stood on its own merits. Initial blast is alcohol and pink pepper. I struggle with pink pepper, so thankfully it fades away quickly and the heart of generic fruity florals emerges and eventually fades to a soft woody musk. Is it pretty? Yes. Is it unique or memorable? No. Worth the $7.99 I spent at TJMaxx? I guess. I suppose if I want something that's truly an easy, mindless grab I'll reach for this, but I'm happy it's only 30 ml because I can't imagine wearing this on a regular basis. Not bad, but not great or groundbreaking either. A "safe" blind buy especially for someone looking for a light fruity floral.

Because I’m a lunatic who likes to burn money on Marshall’s blind perfume buys- of course I got this today for $7.99. Maybe I’m anosmic to the scents I enjoy and find the annoying ones linger more than most and longevity/sillage etc is all kinda shifting depending on the person? Whatever. This is a good gym scent I guess. Or an appropriate first scent gift for a 12 year old. The original Stash is the only SJP scent worth owning. I’m already like- what the hell did this smell like earlier today? Crisp fruity floral something or other. Then some thin white musk/woody base? Like particleboard wood. The kind of wood takeout chopsticks are made of. Nice bottle tho.

I also found this for cheap at Marshall's. The reviews convinced me to buy it but I could do without it. I do not get any similarities to Chance Eau Tendre at all. The initial blast is very synthetic/alcohol smell. It settles fast into a nice soft fresh and fruity scent. I wish it would stay that scent. I could maybe see the comparison to CET at this point but it doesn't stay there long enough to decide. On me it dries down into a very woody/earthy scent. All I get in the end is the birch and vetiver with a splash of quince. I think I will like it better in the cooler weather.

This is starts out with a bright juicy opening with a bit of spice from the pepper at the tail end. It quickly loses that brightness and mellows out into an herbal and woody scent with a hint of florals. in the dry down, it becomes a unique wood scent very reminiscent of paper fresh out of the printer which I do enjoy. The downfall of this perfume is that it is much too light for me and it doesn't even last an hour. I am going to part with this fragrance and pass it on to someone who could enjoy this more than me.

Guess they are unloading discontinued stock at TJMaxx/Marshalls. Dry down smells faintly like cedar and only cedar but doesn't last for long anyway. Any scent was gone in 5 minutes. I like cedar, but this smells like a candle I would burn in the fall. Anyway, bought 2, one to try and maybe to sell. But performace is so bad, I wouldn't even want to sell this to anyone. I returned the unopened one. It maybe $8.00 now in the stores, but please save your money. You may as well just spray water on yourself.

As LesGirls said, "scent of high-end dryer sheets" LOL It's clean, dry, a little powdery, "generic woody musk" as ingrid says. Nothing remarkable, nothing offensive, won't remember it. What it's good for: gym, before walking into a store, something where you don't care if it is wasted or ruined by staying in your purse. 4.5/10

Smells elegant and kinda of herbal. Like when you enter an expensive store. However if you overspray this, you can get a headache from it . I like the scent even though I don’t wear it much

Picked up cheap at Marshall's. It's pretty, but...kind of hard to smell? Like it smells mostly like nothing to me. Still on the hunt for the original Stash.

the weakest of the Stash sisters. Both In terms of interest and staying power. Generic clean pretty woman fragrance. Very safe and easy to wear. Headachy, at least at first. It's cheap so I'm not crying over spilled milk but I got whiplash going from Stash OG to...this. I don't see how this is a Stash flankers at all. Maybe the drydown will show her.

Snagged this at TJMaxx for $8. I must be anosmic because I can barely even detect a scent. When I did get a small whiff (must have been finally waking up a bit while drying down) it was very pretty. I'm glad it was cheap! My Bottle states it is eau de parfum elixir spray - so I expected it to be a lot stronger. YMMV.

Fresh grapefruit and airy pink pepper notes. I don't pick up on any of the other notes mentioned... however, something during the dry down gives off a soapy vibe. It wears VERY intimate. Reminds me of something you'd spray onto bed linens just to add a little scent.

I saw this the other night at Winners (similar to TJ Maxx in the US). I love the original Stash by Sarah Jessica Parker. It is sophisticated and different from other celebrity scents. Generally I am not a fan of celebrity perfumes, but that one surprised me. The box was open for this, so I decided to test it. I could not believe how bad this is. It has no semblance at all of the original Stash. This is a fruity floral that is loud and screechy. It has such a strong chemical scent to it, it is very synthetic. I am shocked how far off the path this is. What a mess

I'm underwhelmed with this one. I don't know what I was expecting since I only paid $7, but... this smells very nondescript like a perfume sample from a magazine. It seems like it's really watered down. I find the bottle adorable, so I really wanted to like the scent, but it's too synthetic and ambiguous. I can't believe some people compare this to a Chanel fragrance, that's ludicrous (and I'm not even the biggest fan of Chanel fragrances). The quality is disappointing.

Like others, I found this at Marshall’s for $7.99. Personally it’s giving me Ellen Tracy/Tresor vibes, which reminds me very much of my mom. This smells very ladylike and put together, someone who is mature, sophisticated, elegant. All the adjectives that describe my mom and brings me comfort. That’s not to say someone younger can’t wear it. But it doesn’t give me juvenile/youthful/playful vibes. It is something that says in a polite way I have my sh*t together like a responsible adult. I think there are plenty of women mid-twenties and older that can wear this perfume, however I disagree with whoever said this is something for a 12 year old. I think it’s a steal for an inoffensive perfume. It doesn’t project much, it sits closer to the skin. It’s perfect for work or someplace wear you want to smell feminine but not overpowering. It’s a great office scent, it might be ok for a medical setting (depends on the area of work). If you like the vibes of the other two perfumes I mentioned, then it’s worth picking up. If you don’t, then obviously avoid it.

I kind of this it’s crazy for this fragrance to get so much hate - I mean it was only $7.99 at TJ Maxx. I have a pretty massive selection of fragrances some that include Xerjoff, Kilian, Federico Mahora, MFK, Chanel, TF, Replica etc etc and many more, down to “inspired by” houses like Alexandria, Julianna’s and Dossier, and ... I find this to be a lovely elegant fragrance. It’s light, fruity and airy, and I seem to have the opposite because on my skin I can smell it the next day. Like, noticeably so. I agree with the person that said it gives kind of a Chanel Chance Eau Tendre vibe on the dry down, and I love CCET. I get no alcohol smell whatsoever from this. I feel like I got a different perfume than others on here! And, I’m used to shelling out ridiculous prices on fragrances I love so this was a pretty nice change of pace as the absolute cheapest scent I’ve ever purchased 😂. I’ll definitely grab a few more bottles if they have them. And! This I chose this fragrance as my very first Fragrantica post, so that says something.

I think SJP does a good job of making quality, affordable perfumes and this one is no different. I bought SJP Privé for $6 a bottle, and honestly for the price I’m very happy. It is a lighter, slightly fresh and fruity scent- but there is a depth to it in the dry-down as well. I will pick up wafts of something warm and sweet coming through from time to time as I move about throughout the day. Sweet scents normally trigger migraines for me, so this is perfect as it satisfies my “sweet tooth” without becoming overpowering or cloying. You will have to top up throughout the day (and/or overspray), but for the price I paid I’m more than fine with that. This is perfect for a casual day when you aren’t going anywhere that requires a more thoughtful or powerful fragrance. Privé is a perfect easy-reach perfume as it smells delightful without making a fuss or drawing too much attention to oneself. Very happy with my purchase (especially for the price!) and I would recommend to others.

I got my bottle from beautystore uk which sells is for 29usd i think so i didnt mind paying shipping cart to deliver to where i am in asia because i got 5bottles for 150usd and delivered in a week in ASIA! To review, i got 3 scents of SJP, and love them in the following order: 1. Born Lovely- soft feminine almost clean pheromone scent 2. Stash Prive- similar to chance eau tendre without the citrus freshness and sillage. Kind of sweet and safe fresh fragrance. 3. Covet pure bloom - Floral grapey fresh scent. All of which are great for day or night SUMMER/SPRING or signature scent. If i can have perfume from just one creator it would have to be from SJP! Im still loyal to thE original LOVELY to this day. ❤️
