Palolem

Palolem is a beach in South Goa: its white sand, crystal-clear water and natural surroundings make it a true dream location. This fragrance is a blend of fruity, lightly spiced notes that create a sparkling, cheerful atmosphere, with an important background that seems to want to make us share in the importance and beauty of nature. Fresh, slightly citrusy and sensual (thanks also to the note of champaca and its aphrodisiac power), wonderful to wear on warm summer evenings.

Out of all (eight) samples from the discovery set, Palolem seems the most dull one, for a lack of a better term... The first few minutes of the opening are straight up gorgeous, a delectable blend of rum, plums, cinnamon and sweet vanilla. Basically a gourmand lover’s dream scent. But in less than five minutes on the skin it changes dramatically to something I can’t make too much sense of: something vaguely warm spicy, balsamic, resinous but not very suitable to my personal taste to put it briefly! I wouldn’t say it’s particularly masculine or feminine, somewhere in between, nothing unpleasant or too niche, just a different type of scent that doesn’t make me feel much towards it. I wouldn’t say it’s boring or bland but it’s not drawing me in. Doesn’t make me think at all about being in a beach or anything summertime, rather it makes me think of fall and winter weather. Has that warm, resinous, fruity, floral indescribable smell! My least favourite from the set and the only one I wouldn’t consider purchasing. I have Armani’s Stronger with You Absolutely and I don’t see much similarities between these two. I prefer Armani way more...

Very good, barbershop like, but mentholated and sweet, masculine.
