Citrus Spell

Another mediteranean summer in a bottle created by the amazing perfumer Linda Landenberg.🥰 If you love the scent of neroli, you will love Citrus Spell too. This is a neroli-orange blossom forward, with a soft, slightly sweet ginger and rhubarb combo, that I sense a little soapy at first. Shortly after, Citrus Spell becomes more interesting, when a heady, nectary honeysuckle scent comes to the scene, which again gives me summer vibes. The scent of honeysuckle reminds me of my summers in childhood and I love it. My mom used to have a big bush of honeysuckle in front of our house and the shrubs were spreaded close to my bedroom's window. I loved sense it early in the morning or at night, when it's scent was the strongest. I love sensing it in Citrus Spell. Once it dries down is when the citrusy magic happen. At this point I can sense the scent of citruses tempering down the sweet floral scent with a refreshing touch, which makes Citrus Spell a great choice for warm weather. When you read the name, you would think that Citrus Spell is a refreshing fragrance with lots of citruses, but I would say that this is a beautiful, elegant floral fragrance with a fresh twist. If you love this scent profile, man or woman, you will love Citrus Spell.

Maybe i’m doomed to compare all citrus based perfumes because of Atelier Cologne who does them best of ALL. No other brand can compete with them in that area. This note list, which is impressing, didn’t really impress me. It’s a nice citrus scent without smelling like air fresheners that many do. That itself is a big plus. Perhaps i’m biased because of how Atelier Cologne makes absurdly photorealistic, juicy citrus scents that I can’t be an objective judge to any other citrus profiled perfumes. With that said, this is an uplifting and balanced freshie, an easy grab and non offensive. And the Savour bottles? Incredibly beautiful!

It smells like vacation in a bottle. 🥰 Similar to one of the Aqua di Parma (can’t remember which one though) It’s a white floral and citrus, yes. But not sharp. The fruits and greens come through making it all very balanced!

It starts off with a beautiful white floral scent from mainly neroli and orange blossom (but it also has jasmine in it) mixed with fresh citruses (lemon and blood orange) and also a green and bitter scent (petitgrain, bitter orange, ginger, balsam fir and artemisia). I also get some tartness from rhubarb in there and all of this feels very luxurious, calming and spa-like. After a few minutes honeysuckle turns up in the mix and that makes it even more beautiful. It's very floral and thick, but the citruses really gives it a fresh touch and I also get a kind of soapy clean feeling that has to be coming from the musk. Later the thick white floral part calms down and it turns more musky and at this point it gives me a nice feeling of sun warmed skin. Like when you have been on the beach all day and the skin gets that summery scent of warm skin mixed with a little bit of suntan lotion. Wonderful! I really enjoy these kind of white floral, clean, citrusy fresh, musky, calming spa-ish fragrances, but for some reason I almost never wear them. So I don't think that I'm going to buy a bottle of it even though it's truly beautiful and I really enjoy wearing it. If this fragrance came as a bath oil, bath & shower gel or some other kind of bath product I think I would buy it though... or maybe even a scented candle to put in the bathroom while taking a nice, soothing bath, since it gives me such a luxurious and calming spa feeling.
