Oud Maktum

Opens with an animalic and woody barnyard smell, followed by an intense boozy note. The barnyard note lingers in the middle, as the booziness gradually fades away. As the scent dries down, the barnyard note is all gone and you're left with a very dark and earthy woody note. *This fragrance smells very different on paper than on skin. Definitely not for for everyone, and absolutely not a safe blind buy. The fragrance is very well made and high quality, and it does have an authentic Cambodian oud smell, but even among oud connoisseurs, this fragrance may not be to everyone's taste. It's a dense, dark, earthy, oud fragrance. If that's what you're looking for, give this a try. Also, if you are curious about authentic oud smells, this is certainly a good pick for the Cambodian oud variety. But it is quite strong and a full bottle might last you a life time.

Wow. I picked this up at a fragrance shop in Vegas. I knew this was it. It’s a bit spicy, a bit airy, it’s fresh, and it has great amount of oud that is not overpowering. The oud begins to develop overtime becoming a bit darker but not so much that you can only wear it during cold winter nights. For me, it can be worn during the day as well (take caution as always with oud during hot days) but I think this is so versatile it can be worn on a bright warm day. A nice intro to oud. And for the price, it’s a no-brainer. An oud that you can comfortably wear in public and turn a few heads while simultaneously enjoying the scent.

If you are looking for genuine oud, this is exactly what you want. It's not the kind of oud that can be kind of too barnyard-ish, however this is literally the perfect oud fragrance hands-down. I layer it with Oud Aswad from Swiss Arabian.

Layer on top of this with Oud touch by Frank Oliver and you get the smell of $600 The Moon by Frederic Malle. It's really close. I paid $45 for Oud Maktum and $20 for oud touch and it smells wonderfully close for 1/10 of the money.

Has this been discontinued? I can’t find it anywhere. One of my favorite Oud fragrances ever for its price point and I want to double up.
