Body Made Luminous

A quality chocolate perfume from beginning to end. I enjoy Body Made Luminous so much. It's like the satisfaction of eating a chocolate cake made with high quality ingredients.....chocolate in every bite with no cheap sugary taste. Highly satisfying, decadent, and addicting. Amazing sillage and lasting power - I am one of those oversprayers who likes my perfume strong and this stuff is potent. My 30ml bottle was worth every penny. I ordered a sample from indiescents and was hooked. When I went back to order a bottle, it was sold out and it took forever for this product to be available again. The reason being Alexis Karl, the perfumer wasn't able to source the fossilized amber. I was ecstatic once the new stock came in and the juice in my 2015 bottle smells exactly like the sample from the previous batch. A perfume with so much integrity. Love it and so happy to wear it.

Fragrantica's thumbnail image of solid chocolate stacked like dry wood over a sterile background is a poor representation of the deep, molten, bubbling chocolate of Body Made Luminous. This ain't no Hershey bar; think of the nearly visible wafts from a pot of 72% dark chocolate melting on the stove. Thankfully, a soapy-green floral surfaces just in time to keep me from taking a bite out of my wrist. At nuzzling distance, the "fossilised" amber proves to be very much alive and surprisingly animalic. Perhaps most important, unlike some chocolate scents that quickly dissolve into sugary vanilla or chemical dust, this one maintains its identity for hours upon hours, begrudgingly passing the torch to crackling amber only in the late drydown. Potent and lasting... my Chocolat Ambre, even at parfum concentration, is effete in comparison.

Chocolate intense. I've been sampling many chocolate perfumes over the last few weeks and this beats all the others hands down in terms of smelling truly authentically as chocolate - from first sniff to the melty moments hours later. Sweetest when first sprayed and then develops a dark chocolate bitter twist about 30 minutes after warming on the skin. Along with the more bitter chocolate twist an almost burnt chocolate note developed on my skin which I wasn't entirely in love with. But it still kept me interested. Not the dusty remains of cocoa pops - this is warm rich melting chocolate. Sensuous, eat me all up, lick me, melt into me, beautiful deep chocolate.

I bought this perfume and it did not work well with my nose or chemistry at all, on or off my body. VERY strong, very mature, nothing of the soft cocoa and woods I was hoping for. If you can I would recommend you try before you buy.
