Salt

OOO This one is a journey! I wish I could give a visual for this fragrance. I'm sorry to say that it didn't bring back memories of the Salt Flats or any deserts, for that matter. Maybe I don't have an imagination or I've lived in the desert too long to have any smell that's not dirt remind me of it. Nonetheless, I understand what the perfumer was going for. The first spray was a burst of Vicks Vaporub (maybe because of the cypress ?). I was super bummed!! I'm not anti-vicks but I just don't want to walk around smelling like it all day. Despite the crappy first trial I decided to give it another go the next day. This time around it didn't smell amazing, but it was bearable. It reminded me of a laundry mat. By the end of the day, the floral fabric softener odor turned into a pleasant fruity, mostly melon, scent. The longevity is incredible! It has been a few days since I've last wore it, but I still get a whiff of the fragrance on my jacket. It is a spring/summer frag without a doubt. This is perfect for a no fragrance fragrance day. I'm not sure about the sillage... I'll test it again when it's the appropriate weather. I can see myself wearing it again.

I just ordered my bottle of this. Yeah, blind buy so what, Really have high expectations on this house. Salud!! Edited: I just got my bottle on the mail. The packaging is similar to Acqua di Parma fragrances. The juice: First impression on the opening is love at first sniff; Very salty marine and some sort of "fresh leathery feel" Skin? It gives me the same feeling of when I finish drying myself with a towel after a cold shower; It has some fruity nuances but all mixed up with salty marine water. This is just the opening... After all, it seams to be like one of nasomatto's close cousins. The experiment on this fragrance is like having a ripe melon that was used as a shutting target... Then you collect the remains of the fruit and get immediately the strong smell of this burnt-out ripe cantaloupe and gun power together with the smell of salty body sweat, not bad smell or stinky but a hot sweet like when you go for a run after showering. Since the purchase of this fragrance I've only used 3 or 4 times. Worth giving it another chance.

The dusty sandy trail crunches and cracks below your feet as you and your friends make it down to the bottom of the canyon. The smell of sun scorched cypress trees and distant non descript wildflowers mix with the smell of your lemon water as you continue to hike. The musky smell of a ton of human bodies hiking together mixed with the slight sheen of metal from your water bottles in your beat leather backpacks. As the day shifts to night, and as the sun gives place to the moon, you sit down with your friends to set up camp for the night. The smell of fire's long gone slightly coming from the firepit in the park. You all discuss stories of cowboys and outlaws of days gone by, the summer's night finally coming to end in a powdery haze. This scent gets too much hate on here. This is a perfect and unique summer's night scent that is for those who would want something leather-y/woods-y but a bit fresher for the summer months. Don't get me wrong, if you are strictly a designer house frag head, you probably won't enjoy this very much. I would describe this scent the similarly to the way I described "The Ghost in The Shell" by Etat Libre D'Orange, fresh but not generic, sweet but not childish, clean but not cliché, and smokey but not overbearing. This is an oddball for sure, but it's an oddball that is 100% wearable. I can see this being a really easy go to during the summer months, or on a warmer day during the fall. Spring through early Fall would work best. SUPER potent projection, still testing longevity. I think I'll wear this again.

Whew what a journey. This is a scent that changes drastically in the first hour, and that can smell COMPLETELY different on each person depending on their skin chemistry-- like, unrecognizable as the same scent. At first spray, this thing stanks. It's like a person who actually smells good when they sweat has been playing beach volleyball, but unfortunately they tried to cover it up with a blue Axe body spray. So sharp on the nose, very masculine, and you're sad because you can still smell that there's a nice breezy minerality under all that. After an hour or so, though, the aggressive over scent fades completely, and you're left with the small of salt on skin, a summer breeze that's bringing the faintest trace of water and rocks and wood and meadows. It's nice! It also smells almost exactly like Salt by Ellis Brooklyn on me, which I prefer because it manages to smell good the whole time, no initial slap in the face necessary. I think this could be a nice skin scent for an intimate date. Because of the startling initial spray, I only did 2. Projection was poor after about 3 hours, but it did stay around close to the skin all day. I also had a friend try this, and on her, it settled into something fruity but clean. I think overall this is a big try for yourself rather than deciding based on reviews because it can vary so much.

Very bright pop of parsley and mint in the first few minutes of application, with a touch of minerality and smoke. 20 minutes in.... all I smell is my own skin, a faint sweetness, and a slight smokey gunpowder. No silage, but it's riding steady at 3 hours, still faint traces of smokey, woodsy gunpowder. Doesn't have enough character for me to use solo, and I don't like buying things strictly for layering. Might just not like my skin.

A frustrating scent for me. I want to like it, but ultimately I had to scrub it off my hand, which for me is very rare. Very intense projection. Two sprays on my hand and I filled the room with a sweet, cloying, watery, artificial-smelling bubblegum note. Juicy bubblegum. Almost like hard candy: a watermelon jolly rancher? Ridiculously sweet for me; however take this with a grain of salt (ahem) because I've often found I'm out of step with other folks on what is considered sweet; my tolerance for it is often very low. The bubblegum-candy sweetness is backed by a zesty herbal accord which I really enjoy. I get primarily Artemisia or Salvia (sagebrush or mint) here: a naturalistic, earthy, camphoraceous, lightly sweet, herbal green note. Not far off from fennel or wormwood. I wish there was more of the zesty, earthy green accord, and much much less of the overpowering juicy hard candy note. I get very little resonance with the listed notes, which is strange, unless by "salt" they mean "calone" – in which case, it's overdosed. 38% (Mildly Negative)

What's other notes does it have, unicorn tears? Bigfoot blood? So dumb.

so interesting. this has to be in my top 5 most transformative fragrances i’ve tried. you gotta let this thing dry down and definitely test on skin. when i first sprayed it, i was getting a ton of the cypress, and a very metallic and minty smell. give it some time and a dewy-ness appears, the cypress became smoky. a bit later and the salt comes to the forefront, the rest of the notes still present but not smacking you in the face. ultimately it becomes a fresh, salty skin scent with subtle nuances of each note listed. this is 100% worth a sample if you’re interested in trying something unique.

For having so many intimidating notes listed, this is a light and bright experience. It's fantastic in hot weather or for physical activity, especially with the slightly aquatic salt. The citrus feels clean but doesn't present too much like a cleaning product. The suede is smooth, subtle, and a glorious backbone to the transparent and fleeting top notes.

The citrus, cypress and smoke notes are totally overpowered by the transparent flowers !!! 🤣🤣🤣 Come on guys seriously??!! Transparent flowers my ass. Good April fool joke tho.

By transparent flowers, do they mean just sheer floral notes? Or did they actually use diphylleia grayi (skeleton flower)? lol I'm intrigued!!

For me its Iso-E super + calone, with a bit of artemisia at the begining. No salt, no gunpowder.

At best, a glade plug in. At worst, blue toilet bowl cleaner.
