Strawberry Shortcake

The year is 1984. It's Christmas morning. You are sitting on your living room floor wearing your flannel gown with your little sister as you look at a pile of presents with your name neatly written on the tag. You tear into a small box and it's a Strawberry Shortcake doll. You open the box. The strong scent of strawberries and marshmallow waft out of the box as you bring her red hair up to your nose. You inhale her deeply. There's a hint of vanilla as well...almost like a bowl of freshly whipped cream. Yes. That's this scent. Nostalgia captured perfectly in a bottle. It's not something I particularly care to wear, but I keep in my collection.

I love this perfume. I've been on the hunt for a that Strawberry childhood smell and I've tried them all, big dollars and little dollars and this one comes the closest. It's jammy berry with a bit of vanilla cake. It's not complicated or complex, which is exactly why I love it. Admittedly, I don't wear this alone. I layer depending on my mood, sometimes with Billie 1 or Delina or YBM, this works with all of them beautifully. If you're looking for the plastic doll note add, try Sorce IDAFT strawberry. The IDAFT blueberry smells EXACTLY like the villian lady doll from strawberry shortcake I had as a small child.

This is the strawberry scent of my dreams. I heard that this smells like Strawberry Pound Cake from B&BW and it definitely does, but even better - mixed with Cream Savers A thing about some gourmand perfumes is they'll smell like the food plus other notes, to make it more "perfume" like, but this is straight up, edible I didn't buy it looking for it to smell like the dolls and I can't remember them enough to say how close they are, but I know this is everything I've ever wanted in a strawberry perfume Edit: the drydown does have a plasticy doll touch

very straightforward but surprisingly it works for me - red, glazed strawberry on a big pile of vanilla whipped cream. the vanilla that it leaves with the drydown suits my taste.

This is EXACTLY what it promises to be. If the notes sound good to you, then you will love it. No gimmicks, just pure Strawberry Shortcake wonderfulness.

Reminds me of strawberry milk and strawberry creme savers. I mostly use it as a layer on top of Cloud.

Is missing the plastic smell. Made me sad

I got this for the nostalgia associated with Strawberry Shortcake as well as the notes. I will say, the notes on their website (which are not present on this page) have it down to a T. Overall, the scent reminds me a lot of strawberry yogurt with strawberry jam. The biggest notes to me are the strawberry jam and cream notes. It smells exactly the way a strawberry yogurt tastes. Which is to say, it smells delicious. The shortcake side of the scent isn't entirely there. They also manage to be strawberry-heavy without smelling synthetic the way most strawberry scents smell. It's quite pleasant. It almost reminds me of a strawberry sundae I had once that had strawberry syrup made with real strawberries. You could see the seeds in it, and it wasn't bright red the way fake strawberry sauce is. This scent is like that- strawberry, but not the fake way you might be used to. The bergamot is not overpowering and enhances the scent in the exact same way the addition of lemon juice enhances fruit jams and syrups when baking at home. A wonderful scent. The longevity is normal, a few hours at most, but it won't last overnight. You might need to respray at the end of the day. The sillage makes a little bubble around you, which is nice. Definitely the type of scent for a day out in the sun! Can't wait to use it this spring and summer.

I bought it out of nostalgia for the old/vintage strawberry shortcake of which I have a bit of a small collection of items. What can I say? It smells like strawberry robatussein. Its sickly sweet and syntheticly strawberry. A heavy, sugary vanilla holds on beneath the synthetic strawberry blast of the first spray and lingers on the skin far longer than the berry. I do like it though! It really does smell like those cheap but delicious cafeteria strawberry shortcake, with the fake red strawberry gel and spray can whipped cream and dry but light grocery store cake. I'm not sure where I'd wear this though. Maybe somewhere right before dinner (it doesn't last long) to get us all hungry?

this perfume is so gorgeous, its such a beautiful jam smell that pulls me right back to my childhood. jam sandwiches after a long day of school and church, this is such a realistic jam smell but i just feel so disappointed with the longevity of this wonderful perfume (maximum 1-2 hours !!!) this makes me not want to even buy the whole bottle because i know there is no point, i'm so sad that such a beautiful smelling perfume lasts for such little time. do i recommend this? unfortunately i don't, especially for my girls who love long lasting perfumes. definitely not worth the money :(

It starts off very dense and fruity, almost overripe - I suppose you could say “jammy”. It quickly dries down into a photorealistic strawberry shortcake scent. I really like it! It doesn’t last terribly long, but for its price that doesn’t bother me. For the record, it does not remind me of the doll at all. More like the actual dessert - angel food cake, jam, whipped cream.

Pretty one dimensional strawberry cake scent. I wear this layered with a vanilla musk fragrance oil and it lasts long and makes the smell more deep and perfumey. By itself it kind of just feels like you rubbed strawberry candy on your skin. Pleasant and sweet but nothing remarkable

For some reason, my first review didn't post, so I'm trying again, but reading other comments, I'm not the only one this has happened to and I wonder if they're blocking the use of certain words? Short story shorter, literally just repackaged SPC from B&BW for more money.

A fun trip down memory lane, but I wish it had more staying power. The best note, the juicy strawberry jam, is almost photorealistic, but disappears after a few minutes. What’s left behind is sweet, soft, and pleasant- but nothing special.

This is such a nostalgic smell for me. It doesn’t smell like the old strawberry shortcake toys in my opinion, but it does smell exactly like the strawberries and crème hard candies.

It's sweet and easy to like. I like to layer it with fresh/green or woody perfumes to give it more complexity, because alone it's a little too preteen for a woman in her 30s.

This is extremely similar to strawberry pound cake by BBW, but with more longevity and projection. Not sure I can stomach wearing this but we shall see.

Smells just like Strawberry Shortcake AND BBW Strawberry Pound Cake. Both last about the same amount of time. Ounce per ounce cost, you do the math.

This smells exactly like strawberry poundcake from bath and body works. Sooo dissappointing. Ive tried to like it for years but it's always had a rancid note to me. This unfortunately has that same sourness especially at the opening. Luckily it begins to soften up after a bit but I really cannot force myself to say I love this. I do like it slightly better that babw, but I would never buy this. As a certified strawberry note lover, this one is not for me. Nothing like the strawberry shortcake dolls.

Strawberry scent? Yes 100% no denying that. To my nose the specific smell of it reminds me of those nutri-grain bars, which I happen to absolutely hate. So definitely not my ideal version of a strawberry note. I occasionally will get a hint of sweet vanilla cake and it's a nice reprieve from the horrible scent association. After a day's wear there's just a light sweetness left on my skin, which I honestly enjoy. So. It's fine, definitely not my ideal sweet strawberry shortcake scent.

controversies aside, i don't think making perfume is scent bird's strong suit. maybe im a little nose blind, but this smells incredibly lemony rather than a strawberry shortcake (i can still smell the strawberry, just the lemon overpowers the way through). not inherently a bad perfume, just really generic.

I got this in last year's Scent Bird advent calendar. That was before I learned about the owner and their beliefs. I won't spend money with that company again but I already own this. This is very sweet. I imagine this would be very cloying in warmer weather. This smells like the strawberry shortcake ice cream bar. Like exactly like it. Its got a creamyness that reminds me of the ice cream and I don't really get the cake of a real strawberry shortcake and more just cake coating the ice cream has. Does it smell delicious? Absolutely. But I don't want to smell like a confectionary a child gets from an ice cream truck. To me this is a preteen's first perfume kind of thing. I couldn't take a grown woman seriously if she smelled like this. Performance was also abysmal. Only lasted a few hours on both skin and clothes. Overall this is a hard pass for me.

TBH, I am a little disappointed in this perfume. I thought I would finally find the perfume that smells like the strawberry shortcake dolls but instead, it smells like strawberry poundcake from BBW. Which is not bad but it was not what I was looking for in a perfume. I gave it to my mom.

I posted a comment and it didn’t post. The owners of this company posted YouTube videos saying Hitler had good intentions and was a good person. The female owner also claims to be a clairvoyant and has a side gig MLM. Do a google search for yourself. I cancelled my subscription once I found this out.

The fabric catching dust motes in an afternoon sunbeam with that particular vintage fabric smell that hints at something slightly worn and not necessarily anytime recently. A child transformed into a living cartoon, all synthetic shine and determined imagination where reality fell short. If that visual—this moment that never actually existed—were a Polaroid half-developed, a scratch-and-sniff sticker, it would be pure wish-fulfillment: not the vivid cartoon, not the plastic toy's sharp edges, but tender, wistful third thing. Soft candied undertones swirled into the frothy berry cereal milk pooling at the bottom of your favorite bowl, the one that fits perfectly in your little hands. Pillowy pastry cream drizzled with pale pink strawberry syrup, faded, translucent, and condensed milk warming against skin. And at the very center, a tiny ache—for the costume I never wore, the moment that was only ever a desperately dear, whole-hearted wish. I was expecting something tooth-achingly sweet, and this is only just shy of that. What I didn't expect was how relentlessly charming it would be.

This smells EXACTLY like the boxed strawberry cake mix by Betty Crocker. For that reason it takes me back to the year 2006. My mom enlisted my help baking a cake for the PTA meeting at school. I would wear it out but probably just to see my friends or if I worked in a school with elementary school aged children. The scent is straightforward and really strikes me as young. The nostalgia factor of this scent works on me but it doesn’t give a doll baby head scent (as noted in the reviews below mine.)

This smells exactly like the Maybelline kissing koolers lip balm from the 80s, and it's SO good! I also agree with the comments that say it smells like cream savers too, it totally does! I typically have pretty classic taste in perfumes, I live for my various Chanels, but I want to smell like this from head to toe! Clearly the small bottle from scent bird isn't going to last very long in my hands, it's time to look into the full size.

It does not last or smell like the doll, just buy Strawberry Cheesecake from Bodycology (or Strawberry Pound Cake) if you want this...

This smells like a super cheap artificial strawberry car air freshener but for some reason I like it.
