Cedar in Acacia

My favorite from the house, and one of my favorites in my collection! I never knew how much I adore cedar in a fragrance, and this is a stunning spicy cedar that puts me in mind of a crunchy crispy autumn walk in the woods in full sun with a deep blue cloudless sky above. It’s quite a dry and bright fragrance, and it makes me super happy when I wear it. Unisex with very little sweetness, and sharp spicy ginger, this is perfect in the fall worn alone. And I find that in winter or spring, it provides a beautifully dry woody base for floral or sandalwood vanilla combinations when I need to smell less sweet and add some depth. It also takes a little bit of that Comet Cleaner vibe away from Tom Ford’s Oud Wood and other peppery green green fragrances, if that’s a problem for you. Cedar in Acacia is a stunning offering from Scents of Wood, and it perfectly embodies the celebration of all things tree that is the brand. Absolutely full bottle worthy if you love cedar.

I love this fragrance! It is a woody scent that is reminiscent of Tom Ford's oud wood however this is bit more linear in the best way possible. The cedar note is quite same and definitely in the background, but this leans more woody than specifically cedar wood. Great to wear on its own as it smells clean and fresh, but I love to layer this with some amber and vanilla. I think this would also layer well with cherry or osmanthus. Will get lots of use out of this one.

Stunning. Dense yet airy (?), slightly sweetened, textured cedar and incense. Fragrantica doesn’t list the cedar note, but it’s Cedramber according to the scents of wood website. The ginger gives it a little kick of brightness, but give it a moment for the alcohol to evaporate entirely before judging it. I wear this most often layered with Sandalwood in Oak to give it more of a creaminess. This has quickly become a daily driver for me.

Gorgeous woody scent spiced with Iris, Olibanum, and Cinnamon. Truly special. Amazing profile that provides a moderate sillage and decent projection. Dont buy this at retail. $350 for a bottle of cologne is madness. What makes wood scents hard to enjoy for me is that they are usually priced to the moon unless you are wearing Givenchy Gentleman Boise If you like this profile and want more power check out, Killians Sacred Wood.

OMG THIS SCENT IS A DREAM ! intoxicating and smooth, unisex, genderfull, sweet, woody powdery. I love it so much. What a surprise. I love Scents of Wood.

Finally, masterful unisex cedar I was looking for. Very smooth woody notes rounded up with slight flowers.

Beautiful fragrance, however, it's a little too ginger and cypriol forward for me - there's this sharp, almost astringent quality to it in the opening that I don't really vibe with. It dries to a beautiful, dry cedarwood, a bit masculine in nature and feels a bit like you're walking through a crunchy forest in the fall - one that hasn't seen rain in quite some time. This is an autumn scent for those who don't want anything to do with the sticky sweet gourmands that tend to make their presence known at this time of year. Though I'm not a huge fan of the opening, I'd totally wear this anyway just to get to that amazing dry down. 8.5/10

Deep cinnamon and ginger, with incredible amber notes and slightly woody. I'd say it lasts (with any amount of sillage) for a good while. I haven't put it on in two days and it remains a skin scent, though I may be reaching a little. There's a mild cinnamon with little else. Overall I love it, just a nice, calming scent, like the essence of a spiced Thanksgiving cider, without all the fruit.

I wish that it wasn’t overpriced I wore this in the gym today and I actually really picked up the cinnamon and it reminded me of walking past the baked good stores in Disney world a very warm and welcoming scent.

Either I am anosmic to this one or it's almost a neutral scent. I barely can smell it on my skin or clothes and it feels like a slightly sweet floral scent but that's it. I didn't expect something this weak from Scents of Wood.

Fairy linear, quite sweet, with general woody and ambery tones and a slight powdery feel. Cedar isn’t overly strong. Has the scent of woods backbone with a sweet resinous dry down. Leans feminine.

A bit too sweet compared to other scents in their line. Not too much of a fan. I won't be getting another. Oak in oak, Sandalwood in oak, Vertiver in oak are better.

This house has a loyal fan base but after trying this and a few others I'm a bit perplexed. Yep it has that smoky woodiness from GPH 2003 but it's so tamed and muted. Skin scent after an hour. Don't drag me as the house I'm about to mention has been dragged for years now but DUA has a superior version that projects and last all day. Winter Woods is the fragrance and it was inspired by Antique Oak by Burberry.

I have no idea how cedar is not listed as one of the notes in this fragrance here on fragrantica. First off, the name of the fragrence. Second, the official scents of wood website lists cedarwood as the base note. Besides that, this is THE most photo realistic cedarwood fragrence I've ever encountered and I own atelier cologne cedre atlas, tam dao and several other cedarwood based fragrences. I definitely get the cinnamon, iris, ginger. But the dry cedar in this is Amazing.. and it lasts 10+ hours. Extremely masculine , sexy spicy cedar to the fullest. Ive also smelled the sandalwood in oak from this line which is also one of the most photo realistic sandalwoods I've smelled as well, i just found it to be a little too candle-y/bath and body-ish because its combined with some type of burnt sugar note.. but i do like the line. Apparently they age the alcohol used in each fragrance in oak barrels.. who knows if that does anything except jack the price up. But this cedar in acacia is fire.

First try, it’s a bright, wood-based sparkle with the ginger oil very forward and strong, tempered barely by cedar. Orris never shows up at all. I can’t pick out cinnamon, but cypriol, if that is the green sappy cypress-y scent, intensifies the ginger bark. Second try: Cedar wood (but not pencils or the inside-of-a jewelry-box cedar) with bright, spicy raw ginger, bolstered by sappy, pine-y cypriol. Still very bright and sharply defined. Smells like newly polished vintage furniture, with a lemony aspect from the ginger. A simple, easy, dry, bright wood scent, a bit too sharp for my tastes. Maybe combined with a plain rose or floral note, this could be someone’s signature scent, but it’s too sharp for me. I like the Sandalwood in Oak much better. My sister however, really loves this one and I gave her my decant.

Gorgeous fragrance but as soon as I sprayed it on, I knew it was very similar to something else I already knew and loved. I was right. It smells extremely similar to Houbigant's Bois Mystique. They're not identical but close enough that anyone who tests them both will immediately recognize the similarities. Cedar in Acacia is a bit softer and a bit creamier. I don't know if it would be redundant to own both but probably. Just to see if I was right, I sprayed one hand with this and the other with Bois Mystique and it's undeniable. Bois Mystique is slightly stronger and more spicy. Both are absolutely gorgeous fragrances if you love woods.

Reminds me of Papyrus Oud aka Gucci Pour Homme very much. It's got a dusty, starchy quality with a backbone of dry, resinous wood and bitter terpenic facets from the cypriol. This is a little brighter and spicier with the ginger, but otherwise very similar. For the price I'd probably buy Papyrous Oud, which has a slightly more complex dry down whereas this feels more singularly like a dry spiced cedar.

For the first 30 minutes, the ginger and cypriol are front and center, creating a kind of terpenic smell which overwhelms the creamy woods and ambers I was hoping for. When that dies down you're left with a very realistic, wood-chippy fresh wood, like just-sawn logs. Very foresty and natural.

Opens solid and pleasant attractive accord, not sure why turns milder than expected, than Oud in Acacia. Recognize the Scents of Woods smooth approach, as not my present genre, always hits so nice and clear.
