Mineral Cedar

I agree that lovely is the right word for this. It shocked me just how soft, warm, and cozy it smells after the initial spiciness calms down– I was expecting the mineral and aquatic notes to be much saltier and colder. Instead they offer just a hint of toughness to an otherwise downright snuggly perfume. It's perfect for a rainy day. The only reason it's not a "love" for me is because I don't particularly want to smell snuggly and soft. I love to smell it, but not sure I'd want to smell *like* it. I imagine the candle version would be heavenly. Edit: Turns out that, now that it's fall, I do very much want to smell like this. It's such a soft, comforting scent for the cooler weather. It's powdery, not like makeup or talcum but like sandalwood and spices can sometimes be. I find that quality really love on cold days. Second edit: I ended up receiving a 10ml travel spray of this from a very generous Fragrantican. I don't know if it's just a different batch, but I'm finding the powderiness and spiciness stronger than I remembered. It almost reminds me of Gris Charnel, which hovers between beautiful and cloying for me. This is definitely one that needs the right mood and weather to shine.

Someone described this as “lovely,” and I can’t think of a better single word for this fragrance. It’s subtly sweet. It’s woody. It’s sharp for a second. It softens. It’s probably the safest fragrance from Scents of Wood that I’ve smelled—I’m up to 10 samples now. Juniper berries, guaiac wood, and tonka beans are my favorite notes. Mineral Cedar just HITS. I find myself burying my nose in my wrist and inhaling until I can’t anymore. It’s beautiful. I bought a travel size almost immediately after trying my sample. I’d recommend it to anyone who likes a softer wood fragrance. Update: it’s been about six weeks, and I think I’ve used about a third of my 10mL. I now have a FB on the way. Also, I don’t understand how anyone could compare this to a saffron fragrance. There isn’t a hint of saffron in this. Ebony in Oak, on the other hand, has a beautiful saffron note.

I’ve had this fragrance for a few months now and my impression of it is similar to what others have said. It’s a smooth woody fragrance, very gentle on the nose. On the opening I get the woods and the lavender which blend together well, that lasts into the dry down but the sandalwood and tonka shines through in the dry down. Gives me about 3 hours of decent projection but becomes a skin scent around 4 hours and lasts 8 total. Good projection and very easy to wear. This has now been discontinued and I’m so glad I got a bottle before they discontinued it. 9/10

Fantastic woody fragrance! The opening is very refresing with juniper, cypress and bergamot being the main palyers The drydown has this warm rich, dry and woody character, smelling like a carpenters workshop. If you love woody fragrances, you need this in your collection!

Very beautiful lavender scent. I am starting to realize however, that this is a bit of a high-end dupes company like Boadicea is. This is a blatant copy of Tom Daxon's Midnight Saffron. Still gorgeous, and FB worthy.

This is a great fragrance. Aquatic, yes, woody, yes. To the point. Scents of Wood frags are worth the asking price. So many home runs

Smells like a sauna. Its a very, warm, dry and woody composition. Love it!

first impressions: It's pretty light-handed, and quite wearable. Some perfumes are accessories and demand attention in their own right, but this gently elevates. Similarly, has nice silage but far from overwhelming. The woods are very gentle, I do wish it was a little more cedar forward, but if I abandon my initial assumptions and expectations, overall it's a nice understated gender-neutral scent.

Mineral Cedar is lovely. This well-blended scent transports me to a foggy woodland seashore. The forest aromatics of cypress, juniper and woods mix with a kind of aqueous moss note (seaside lichens?) and a subtle ambergris texture. Nothing screams out in a detached manner, rather the scent envelopes in a beautiful impressionist vapor that is comforting yet mysterious.

This is just an all around gorgeous woody scent. I don't know whether my nose actually detects the "mineral" part but there is definitely some beautiful complexity to this one. The cedar notes are effervescence in a way that I can't quite place.

Had high hopes for this one, but it comes across like a mix of a sweeter PDM (Think Layton, Haltane) and MKF’s Masculin Pluriel. Loads of tonka and lavender, not very mineral smelling at all. I was expecting more freshness and edginess from this. It comes across as a sweet barbershop fougere with the tonka amped up.

Very lovely and absolutely unisex. The tonka note really lends itself to a cool, foggy, overcast vibe and the juniper, cypress, and water notes suggest a Mediterranean character. Everything put together and you've got a foggy morning on the Mediterranean coast. Lovely, cozy, brisk, fresh. Interesting enough to stand out as niche, but still very wearable. Seems like it'd be good all year (I tried it in summer) but may really shine in the fall or spring. On me, longevity is moderate/long and sillage is intimate/moderate. Side note: If you like Mineral Cedar and are interested in a sunnier, more balsamic version, you should check out Cypress in Oak from Scents of Wood.

The opening of this is wonderful. Airy woods with a slight water feel that isn’t blue and annoying. A little salt too. The first few times I wore this the wood went away quickly as it just turned into a tonka bean scent. It must have changed quickly or something happened with my skin, but after a week or so the tonka was turned down on me and this became more rounded and smooth. I love this house. This also reminds me a bit of epic man by Amouage. It’s lighter than that scent and a bit sweeter.

Similar feel to Gris Charnel. Leans more masculine to me. Very beautifully blended and transformational. I'm looking forward to sampling more of this house.
