Mycelium in Chestnut

Blind bought this as I was curious how a scent like mushrooms can be made to smell good in a fragrance. Glad I took a chance as they totally knocked it out of the park. I had a hard time coming up with a good description at first whiff. In the beginning, it's in the same ballpark as many designer sweet winter fragrances, think Stronger With You, 1 Million or Boss The Scent line, but done in a completely new and unique way. Then what I assume is the mushroom and cashmere starts to take hold... You get a very strong cattle and hay scent, with even some manure thrown in there. I felt like I was in a horse pen. Now you mix that with the sweetness in the beginning and I was completely transported to the rodeo. The scent of the leather, the hay bails, the snack stands frying up funnel cakes and kettle corn in the distance, it was all there. The dry down I get a Christmas-y scent similar to Serge Luten Chugri. 8-9 hours since I test sprayed it on my wrist and it's still a strong sweet scent with a touch of earthyness. Im amazed at the trip this took me on. Highly recommended and I am officially a Scents of Wood fan that will be on the lookout to try more. This one is special. Well done. 10/10

I can't say this strikes me as fruity so much as nutty with a layer of sticky sweetness on top. This scent is warm, mysterious, and a little magical, like brewing a potion in the woods. Smells the way the color dark purple looks. Love it.

This is a beautiful stone fruit tree in the middle of the woods inside a mushroom fairy circle. The scent of a woodland creature leading you into the fairy realm. Warm fruits and comforting woods with a sweet resinous base.

I wore a sample all day that my partner got without looking at the notes- from the name I had expected something much less sweet, darker, and more earthy, but this smells like nuts covered in powdered sugar. Not my thing, but not sweet in an unpleasantly fake way. I don’t get the fruit, but most disappointingly I really don’t get any mushroom from this scent. It’s actually really clearly clean smelling.

I received a travel size of this with another perfume I bought from Scents of Wood. Initial spray I smelled Bandaids. Weird, but not offensive. After the dry down, it's nutty and sweet with a hint of earthiness. Doesn't smell fruity to me. I don't like it enough to buy a full bottle, but since I have a decent amount of it, I'll wear it occasionally.
