Néroli in Acacia

Scrubber. Feels like cheap cologne from 80's gone bad.

I’ve gone through about 6ml over the course of a year with this scent, and today was the wear that warranted a review. So, I agree with the reviews below- this is screamy and deodorant chalkish. There’s only about a min in the opening where you get to smell the neroli on its own before it joins the pack, or more like a general receding into his fleet when negotiations fail which brings me to the best use I’ve found for this. Transitioning from a chypre. I wore Amouage Opus I for about 8 hours on neck and 1 wrist before spraying neroli in acacia on the other hand and wow the way they mix in the air is awesomeness. The imagery I get here is will good hunting hastily solving the professor’s equation on that chalkboard- the air just above that specific chalkboard must’ve smelled like this. Another scene that popped in my head just now is the movie ‘Time Machine, starring Guy Pearce’. All in all I have 2ml left and I want to spend it quickly with what cool spring days we have left an will be patient for the day this becomes discontinued to scoop up for the sale.

It took me about 5.7 seconds from first spray to realize the olfactory memory it triggered. There’s this ride at Disney California Adventure called Soarin’ Over California where it uses dangling roller coaster seating with a super tall IMAX type movie screen to make you feel like you’re hang gliding over iconic California nature scenes. Then to one’s surprise, they gently release fragrances corresponding with the scenes. In one, you’re over an orange grove, and in another, you’re watching surfers. The citrus, white floral, and fresh aromatics blended together, lingering in the air, bear an uncanny resemblance to this fragrance.

I don’t think this shares any likeness to Icon, it does however dry down close to GFS, they aren’t identical and notes are very different but it instantly reminded me of Gentle Fluidity on dry down. Def get the bitter orange in the opening and it’s still present in early dry down but overall very similar to GFS unless my decant is mislabeled as I have a sample of every fragrance from this house. Honestly surprised this isnt getting more praise.

This smell very similar to Dunhill icon to me. Neroli in an orange soda. On skin the woods are deeper than icon. It’s much better quality. It’s a minerally airy orange peel scent.
